A great selection of hawker stalls spread out on 2 floors. Excellent kopi/ local coffee with great service (so you can avoid the Starbucks stores that are popping up on every street corner). Very friendly vendors who will help out but the vast majority do not speak English (nore should they). One of the more authentic hawker centres in the area.

If you’re looking for the best curry noodles in Singapore, this Bib Gourmand hawker stall is it! (There are two side by side). The wait was about 20 minutes, but let me tell you—it was worth every single second. The curry is rich, aromatic, and perfectly balanced without being overly heavy. You get to choose your preferred chicken cut, and every piece is tender and juicy. The noodles soak up the curry beautifully, and the portion sizes are just right—generous without being overwhelming. This is hawker food at its finest: authentic, full of flavour, and absolutely satisfying. Highly, highly recommended!

Lots of small stands with cooked Asian food. Some have long queues, some don't. Stands with natural juices (more or less...). Spartan conditions, with tables and chairs fixed to the floor, self-service, cheap cutlery. Minimal hygiene conditions, crowded, but worth a try.

To me the Best CKT in town, this Outram Park Fried Kway Teow stall at Hong Lim Food center was moved here many years ago from the previous coffee stall below HDB void deck near current Outram Park MRT station. Stall open Mon-Sat (6am-3pm till sold out), close on Sun/Public Holidays. I have eaten this stall CKT many times since Y1998. Be prepared to queue 1 hour or more, like today Saturday from 12 noon that I’ve queued 80min before food served. Few customers behind was told sold out today. CKT is abit moist cooked with egg scramble, many fishcake & bean sprouts semi crunchy. (S$5 small size). You can end the meal with desserts after CKT which is opposite stall, selling 4 types desserts only at S$2.20. This Food Center has many stalls award with good & tasty food at affordable prices.

This place is special ! Grandpa's favorite hawker center ! Curry noodles , CKT, prawn noodle, kuey chap, laksa, wanton noodle, curry puff etc . Right in the city ,so things are more expensive over here .Pity those that worked in the city ! But to be fair no dinner crowd. Therefore LPPL ! Can complain can kpkb but nothing can done ! Not happy don't eat type!

One of the best hawker centre around. Packed with about 100 stalls - many run by veteran hawkers with decades of experience. Some stalls are even Michelin-listed. One can find a huge variety of local favourite dishes here - from smoky wok hei noodles & rich curry chicken bee hoon, to bak chor mee, Hokkien mee & even traditional desserts. Prices are fair & portions generous. Expect long queues at popular stalls, especially during the lunch rush (12 - 1:30 PM). Seating can get a little tight & warm during peak hours, but the atmosphere is vibrant & authentically local. A must-visit for anyone wanting to experience real Singapore hawker culture.

This is a great place to find many traditional Chinese dishes. You can find a branch of a Michelin-starred noodle shop, classic Singaporean pancake, fish ball soup, and many more!!

Hot, stuffy, expensive and long queues is what best describes Hong Lim Food Centre. Most of the stalls here serve average and above fare, so this place is a relatively safe bet. If not for the fact that this place is stuffy and packed, I would have given it 5 stars. Several famous stalls can be found in Hong Lim, the most notable being the fried kway teow, wanton noodles and curry noodles. This food centre has 2 storeys, so please dont forget to visit the second level. This food centre has both quality and quantity, but is in serious need of better ventilation. Based in Chinatown, you can also expect to pay a little more for your food. Overall a pretty good food centre if not for the poor ventilation.

Came by for lunch the other day and it was a tasty albeit hot and sweaty experience. Hong Lim is located next to the Chinatown station and next to Chinatown Point mall. There are a few stalls on the street level and more on the 2nd level. The queues seem to indicate the popular Michelin rated spots, although the mega fans didn't really help cool the centre down Opted for a Chinese stall and their fish chow fun which was tasty and flavorful and cost effective at $6! Remember to bring cash and tissue packets!

Crazy popular hawker stall, less touristy than some of the closer spots. And so many stalls inside are excellent - waaaaay more long lines at the very best stalls than I expected! It's on the upper floor so ceilings are a bit low, try to get a seat by the outer railing as it's cooler.

This is a nice hawker stand with many food varieties. There are two levels of food and it's actually amazing how disoriented I was and how it's such a maze. Every corner you turn is a different selection of food. We came here twice, one in the evening where there was less stalls open and one in the morning when it was definitely busier. We were able to eat quite a variety here and the price is amazing. Eddy's duck confit is amazing. It so tender and flavorful. You're not going to find this dish at a french cuisine for that price given the high quality Ji ji noodle house signature dish is sooo good. So much complexity yet simple at the same time. The famous fried kway teow me was also very good with lines consistently throughout the morning. We tried other things too so theres definitely a lot of options for good prices. No AC, a little dirty though

Came by on a Thursday at around 10 AM and a few stalls (like Tai Wah Pork noodle and the char kuay Teow stall) already had people lining up. We ended up trying the pork noodles, which were okay - not sure if it's worth the wait - and a fish ball noodle stall - which were the best fish balls I had ever had in my life. The place isn't huge but there are a lot of options, so there's something for everyone. Also a lot less crowded than Maxwell.

This hawker center has 2 floors of food. We went during off hours (between lunch and dinner), but we didn't see any shops with a lot of customers and the food looked pretty mediocre. We did have a fruit juice at a stand but it wasn't great compared to a lot of other places. One thing if you're here in Dec 2023 is that they have construction going on, so it's really noisy and not a great experience overall. Would definitely say Maxwell or other well known places are a better bet.

Dear all pls kindly avoid the curry chicken noodle stall Heng Kee 01-58 . The old lady stall helper is extremely rude and arrogant. She hurl abuses and insults at me and my mum when she misinterpreted our food orders. She shouted so loudly that everybody is looking at us . And the way she handled the noodle with her bare hands is dirty . Pls share n avoid this stall

Singapore is a wonderful place for food lovers of all type - including food hawkers. Today, we were particularly craving for some rustic street food. That's why our morning was spent roaming around Hong Lim Food Center. Hong Lim Food Center is located right in the heart of Chinatown. Therefore, this place can be seen as one of the most rustic street food places in Singapore. Offering authentic Chinese dishes with added twists of the Singaporeans, foods here are out of the world! We tried fried Kway Teow Mee, which in our opinion, is a superb dish. This wok dish is not too oily, yet smoky and very flavorful, thanks to the secret mixture of soy sauce and fish sauce. It's evenly coated in beaten egg, creating a semi-wet "Pad Thai-like" dish. The smoke flavor come from the hot wok really makes this dish especially memorizing for us. HL didn't really stand out to me as a tourist, when I went to hawker fares. I had lunch here and a cup of fresh juice, and prices were just average. I found that juice was cheaper in Chinatown! Surprise surprise. AND just as good. I had a fish soup with noodles, and it seemed pretty slow that lunch time even with all the students and business people eating there. The vendor had to take out some fish cuts from his plastic tupperware underneath the stand and put it into the soup to make my meal. That's how slow it was! Anyhow, the place isn't too dirty which is a plus. And shoutout to the REAL MVP's of the food centre...the old ladies and men who wear bright green/orange and pick up after your dirty tables! They're the ones who are tirelessly working hard to clean tables so the next round of customers can have a place to eat. There wasn't a diverse selection in my opinion, but I did notice that it was pretty accessible between our itinerary as we walked around Ann Siang Hill, Clarke Quay, Chinatown, and even parts of Maxwell Centre. Good location, basic stalls.

One of my favourite hawker food centre for lunch in Singapore! My top 4 recommended food stalls are: (1) Cantonese Delights wanton noodle, located at the 2nd floor at the corner with long queue daily. The owners are very friendly, the char siew so far the best I've tried in this market and full of a variety of choices such as curry gravy, chicken cutlets, yong tao fu and etc. (2) Jin Hua 金華 Fish Head Bee Hoon (2nd flr), I like the very thick milky soup which is more indulgent and creamier. (3) An Kee Braised Duck Rice (2nd flr), cheap and nice. The duck meat was braised nicely with flavour, and the 'herbal' soup is my favourite overall. (4) Fragrant Hong Kong Pork Rib Rice (2nd flr), I used to eat the steamed rice with chicken / pork rib, it's soft and juicy! There're more nice foods like Koay Chap, Mixed soup / Seafood soup, Malays food and etc which I couldn't remember their name :D Free free to explore over there!

A hawker center filled with great food at prices that don't hurt the wallet at all! My recommendations are: Crayfish Hor Fun Ji Ji Wanton Mee Tai Wah Pork Noodle (long queues during lunch hour) Cantonese Delights

Uber local, a bit grimy and pay for use toilets- Hong Lim came highly rated - however, found that the food at Maxwell seemed to be of higher quality and the hawker centre cleaner. We had the famous pork noodle and fried kway teo which wasn't really anything to write home about. We enjoyed the curry puff and the rice dumplings (nyonya rice dumpling was really different and yummy). But next time I will just give this one a miss and try the Chinatown one or go back to Maxwell to get my fill of local food.

Well, it was my first day in Singapore and I was looking for some place to eat (not actually knowing all that much about the place mind you) so I decided to check out Chinatown, suspecting that I would find some really authentic restaurants down there. Anyway, my first discovery when I steps out of the MRT station was your standard shopping mall with standard shopping mall cafes, however when I walked outside I suddenly found myself in this place - my first experience of a Singapore Hawker's Market. I must say that I was instantly impressed. Okay, it is nowhere near as large as the Chinatown Complex, but I hadn't discovered that at this stage, so I spent some time wandering up and down the stalls. The juice stall that I came across was amazing, especially since they offered drinks that would never exist in Australia. Here I had a dragonfruit and mango juice, but I also down many, many watermelon juices in my time here. All I can say is that if you are in Singapore and are looking for a place to eat, the hawker's markets are the place to go.

One of those old school hawker centers that I wish would have fewer people! At peak lunch hour, the lines are just crazily long. I usually try to go late which also means that you risk having your favorite stall running out. I know i know....my nonsensical first world problem dilemma.

This hawker centre is filled with great finds. One of the hawker centre that my family and I frequent. Many of stalls have stood the test of time. They have been there before and after the renovation. The food is still good and the queues for many are usually long. Here are some of the recommendations that you can check out when you are here. This is the food center to eat at while in Singapore. But get there early as the lines are long at most stalls. This place is filled with hawker legends. You'll be spoiled for choices. Avoid Newton Food Center, come here.

One of the highest concentration of good hawker fare in SG - of particular note for those that I go to whenever I'm nearby - dumpling, minced meat noodle, crayfish hor fun, fried kway tiao, curry chicken mee, etc. Would be 5 stars if the dining environment is nicer

Hong Lim Complex has been known for its selection of delectable local foods for decades, with owners honing their craft with pride and finesse. A good, but not great Hawker center. Not as good as I was expecting based on reviews and recommendations from locals, but had a nice kaya toast with softboiled eggs breakfast here.
