San Diego’s Best Coffee Roasters and Cafes | Eater San Diego

"Operated by brother and sister duo Vinh Duong and Tu Duong, this cafe specializes in drip Vietnamese coffee made with large metal Phin-shaped filters. After finding success in farmer’s markets, they set up a brick-and-mortar shop in North Park, expanding their coffee menu in their kitchen. They now offer Hanoi Egg Coffee, a strong drip coffee with egg cream foam on top, a survivalist substitute when milk was in short supply in 1946." - Helen I. Hwang

Hillcrest Farmer’s Market Favorite Saigon Coffee Opens North Park Cafe | Eater San Diego

"Opening Saturday, July 8 on the corner of 30th Street and Lincoln Avenue in North Park, this new cafe will spotlight Vietnamese coffee brewed according to traditional methods. Founder Tu Duong, who moved to San Diego in 2010 and started replicating the old-fashioned Vietnamese iced coffee her mother made, launched Saigon Coffee as a stall at the Hillcrest Farmers Market in 2012 and has become a popular vendor at several local markets; she’ll continue at Hillcrest on Sundays and Poway on Saturdays while focusing on the North Park storefront. Operated with her brother Vinh, the cafe brews through a classic phin filter — described as a cross between a French press and a pour-over that produces bold, concentrated coffee — and will scale the technique in a glassed-in brewing room housing up to 20 phin filters about 50 times bigger than the standard size, with slow-brew batches taking about four hours. For now the menu is all about coffee: a condensed milk–sweetened signature Original Saigon Coffee, a coconut-milk blend, and a Hanoi-style egg coffee made with whisked pasteurized egg yolks, with possible future additions of Vietnamese street food like coconut and pandan waffles." - Candice Woo

Google
Coffee shop in North Park that makes you feel transported to Vietnam. One of the best Vietnamese iced coffees I’ve had outside of the East Asian country. The owners here did such a great job with their limited hand crafted menu. Definitely come here if you’re looking for that pow wow caffeine energy any time of the day.

Google
Best Vietnamese coffee in town!!! We have gotten the original Vietnamese coffee. Delicious! Today we tried the Millionaire coffee which has a tiramisu cold foam. Yummy chocolaty cold foam!

Mason B (.

Google
Best coffee in SD not even close! The egg coffee is God’s gift to humanity. We may not deserve it but we humbly accept it and enjoy it fully. If you like strong sweet iced coffee then you don’t need to go anywhere else.

Google
FINALLY got to try out Saigon after having it on my cafe bucket list for over a year, and the coffee was AMAZING. I love Vietnamese coffee, and this spot is an instant favorite. When I arrived there was a line out the door, but it moved very quickly; with a cafe full of people, I only waited for about 5 mins after ordering for my drink to come out. I only spent 8-10 mins. between waiting in line, ordering, and then receiving my drink, which was awesome since pretty busy and it was Labor Day weekend. The staff were very sweet and welcoming. I got their Hanoi Egg Coffee this time, and it was the perfect mix of strong, bold flavor coffee with a creamy and sweet egg foam. My friend recommended this place to me, and I’m so thankful he did! I’ll definitely be back!

Google
Hands down my go-to coffee spot. Saigon Coffee has gotten me HOOKED on Vietnamese coffee AND gets me out of bed earlier due to their early operating time. It comes out fast despite ALWAYS being busy, and NEVER disappoints. Compared to the price of other coffee spots, it’s more than reasonably priced, especially for its quality!!!

Google
Great place, don't go here if you're expecting traditional coffee though. I must admit, my knowledge of Vietnamese coffee is rather limited, so I wasn't sure what to expect when arriving here. I was greeted with smiles and happiness as I ordered my pure black. I took a sip of the medium-dark roast coffee, and was pleasently surprised by the best hazelnut flavor in coffee I had ever tasted. It wasn't overly powerful, it was subtle, and not artifical tasting. It complimented the coffee's bitterness quite nicely. The atmosphere was awesome too, with wide open windows and pretty decor. The employees behind the counter said thank you to every leaving person as well, just a wonderfully pleasent environment. If I lived around here, this is the place I would visit often. I'm happy to recommend Saigon Coffee.

Google
Very good coffee and I can see why the line is long! The Ha Noi coffee with egg cream top is a must try. The egg cream is sweet. Very strong Vietnamese authentic coffee taste.

Google
Service 5/5 Matcha with egg foam 3.5/5, not because their matcha/egg foam isn't good - but because it is not a combo i personally like. Individually the matcha & egg foam was decent 4/5. So I recommend getting their vietnamese coffee with egg foam instead

Yelp
I first encounter them at Poway and Hillcrest Farmers market before they had this storefront. One of the first successful coffee shop that specializes in Vietnamese coffee. The advantage of the storefront is the variety of flavors and options. The egg coffee is always a must or the coconut coffee. This time I opted for their seasonal flavor of pumpkin spice called The Charlie Brown. Their coffee flavor is bold, bitter with thickness of condense milk with a hint of hazelnut. They have extended their hours until 8pm. Parking is hard to come by in the area there's a parking structure down the street.

Yelp
I was in the area for a Yelp event and walked passed this amazing coffee shop. It's a small establishment but it was packed with people. I was glancing at the menu when one of their regulars started talking to me about how this business got started and how he doesn't go to any other coffee shop but here. SO, you know I had to try it! I had the Famous Saigon Coffee and it was so good! . 10 out of a 10! There's room to sit & enjoy your coffee or take it to go. I love how they posted, how they came to the US and how they got started. It's an amazing American dream for this business. I'm so happy I stumbled across them. You know I'll be back. The service was exceptional so it makes sense that everyone is standing in line waiting. If you haven't been here and you love great coffee please support the business everyone including their customers will agree it's worth the drive.

Yelp
Love the coffee, lemonade tea, service, cleanliness, bright pretty ambiance. Today we tried the Vegan Coconut coffee. It was great, and no cholesterol!! Everything positive everyone has said is true. We decided to buy the kit: whole (or ground) coffee, condensed milk, metal filter, and instructions all in a nice gift box, and a pretty reusable bag. We cannot come here everyday, so it will be nice to experiment at home.

Yelp
Every time we come to San Diego, Saigon Coffee is the place we come to get our caffeine fix. There's always a line here, some days it's longer than others, and it moves fast. We like the egg coffee, Saigon Coffee, coconut coffee... even matcha was good. The rotating specials like the millionaire tiramisu and pumpkin spice are also very nice.
google avatar

Debbie T.

Yelp
Saigon Coffee is a hidden gem for Vietnamese-style drinks! The egg coffee here is absolutely delicious -- rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of sweetness. It's unlike anything you'll find at a regular coffee shop. Their matcha and other drinks are also super smooth and flavorful. You can tell they use quality ingredients, and the presentation is always on point. The staff is friendly, and the vibe is very laid-back -- perfect for a quick caffeine fix or catching up with friends. If you haven't tried egg coffee before, this is the place to start. Definitely worth the hype!

Yelp
SAIGON COFFEE, NORTH PARK AREA, SAN DIEGO. Delicious, effective, friendly, lively, convenient, clean, happy, and rich. Words to describe this super popular Vietnamese coffee shop in one of my favorite communities. What a great area to walk around, grab delectable coffee and food, absorb positive vibes, and do business. As a real estate professional this used to be an "up and coming" place to buy but it has risen and arrived, a very popular place to own property. Very walkable and yummy foods and beverages, cute shops and specialized gyms, a fun place to live for an active lifestyle all around. Definitely visit Saigon Coffee when you're in the area for a super tasty boost to your day.
google avatar

Yelp
This place has incredible coffee. It's such a treat. I'm a mostly black coffee type person, probably an age thing but when we visit N Park, we visit Calabria and Saigon. It's the perfect amount of sweet and strong coffee. And this place is dialed in, expect a line but not to wait very long. It's great.
google avatar

Julianne L.

Yelp
Great Vietnamese coffee and great service! I've tried the Famous Saigon Coffee and Hanoi Egg Coffee. They were both rich with a perfect sweet/bitter blend and of course super caffeinated! Go for the Famous for the classic Viet coffee and the Egg coffee for something more indulgent. There can be a line but the staff are efficient and move people quickly. This is more of a grab-and-go spot, but there is some indoor seating in this clean and cute shop. Parking can be difficult, but that's expected in the area.
google avatar

Stephanie H.

Yelp
Great coffee, but if you're looking to make any adjustments to the sugar, everything is premade so you don't really get many options from here. It's still really tasty, but something I would only get occasionally.
google avatar

Maya A.

Yelp
AMAZING coffee!! I got the "famous saigon coffee" and it was perfect. sweet but also strong coffee flavor. everyone working there was nice and there were places inside to sit as well. can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Jennifer C.

Yelp
I was visiting San Diego for the weekend and had this viet coffee shop saved on my list and I'm glad we were able to make the time to come here! We are a little wary about time because there was a line out the door, but it moved pretty quickly and we were able to get our drinks pretty fast after ordering. The space inside is small with a few tables, but it's open to air and bright inside. I got The Millionaire - a viet coffee with tiramisu cream top which was delicious! My boyfriend for the Hanoi egg viet coffee and that was good as well!
google avatar

Cindy Y A.

Yelp
Quick , friendly service. Love the set up, open windows looking out on street, weather was perfect! Didn't order any food today. I only missed being able to have my own little drip over a ceramic cup! $6.76 for regular size, 12 oz. Convenient location, heart of North park area , it seems
google avatar

Fely L.

Yelp
I love my Vietnamese coffee and this place is legit! It had me at cream that is now a plus for me when having Vietnamese coffee. Just pure creaminess with nice coffee adrenaline
google avatar

Jayla H.

Yelp
The coffee is STRONG but sooooo GOOD. Ran into the owner and he's so sweet definitely cares for his staff. The space was small but open.
google avatar

Elise S.

Yelp
Still amazing service and consistent, except for one thing, the strength of the coffee seems to have gone down a little bit. I got the vegan coconut and it's definitely a little more thin than usual these past few weeks. I don't know if they're just in so high demand that they are rushing the brew process, but it's definitely showing on the quality part. I'm sure it can be a simple fix. I am still loyal to this place and have been for two years, but I'll make a comeback if they can go back to having that strong, thick, rich coffee that got me hooked!!
google avatar

Kysa T.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday afternoon. There was a line out the door but it moved fairly quickly. There is only street parking so you most likely will have to walk a block or two away. We ordered the iced matcha and famous Saigon coffee. Both were super flavorful and delicious. The Saigon coffee was strong but in a good way. The condensed milk in the matcha was perfect, though definitely take a lactose pill if you need it. Service was friendly, quick and efficient. There is ample seating inside and along the sidewalk. I would definitely come back when I'm in the area!
google avatar

Yelp
We came on a Wednesday and parking was easy, we parked in a 2 hour zone. The time we went to Saigon, it wasn't very busy thankfully. There were several tables open and a very nice breeze. I ordered the Coconut Frappe, Size Small. It has their bold and rich coffee, and blended coconut milk slush with toasted coconut chips! This one was a bit different compared to all the other times I ordered it, but still refreshing and strong (nicely sweetened as well). My mom was surprised and happy throughout the day because of the drink. As well as the interaction she witnessed with one of the workers and an unhoused/homeless person-- I don't believe they said anything, just came in and placed their bag on the ground...The worker just gave him a cup of cold Saigon coffee. There was also a UPS worker stocking up on the water that's available at the counter. I believe that access to water should always be free, especially on hot days, I wouldn't understand how some places would bar people from asking for a cup of water. So, yes, it was quite nice to see how friendly and human the interaction was. As I was sitting, I noticed they had tote bags for only $6! The structural quality looked great. There wasn't a zipper but if you line the bottom, it could be a great bag to bring to the Farmer's Market. They also sell premade drinks: matcha, famous Saigon, and pure black. My aunt said she really enjoyed the bottled drink because she got to make several iced coffees out of one bottle. Anyways, I highly recommend coming to Saigon Coffee for a refreshing drink and fast service. If you're new, you can ask to sample certain drinks or the topping. The blended drinks seemed to be popular the day we went.

Yelp
want strong coffee with a splash of sweetness? this is def your spot. an absolutely amazing cafe, especially when you're being a tourist like myself and love trying different coffee shops. even if you opt for matcha vs coffee, their iced matcha is hands down one of the best i've tasted. def going back for a second trip before going home. the service was quick, despite the long line, the wait time was minimal. i spent more time looking at the menu than waiting for my drink. the only thing you really have to think about is the parking situation because it's really limited. the vibe at saigon is very chill. it is small, but def a spot to lay back and catch up with a few friends.
google avatar

Yelp
Since I've been to Saigon Coffee several times within a month and a half, this is a bona-fide review. I just had to let the Yelp Community know I'm obsessed with Saigon Coffee's The Millionaire....well besides my California dream of becoming a Millionaire ;-) I came across this popular coffee shop during a casual walk in the North Park neighborhood. Thank goodness I did! Whenever there's a long line somewhere, that's a greaaat indication the place is golden...crème de la crème. This Vietnamese haven has it ALL...fast service, friendly staff, fantastically flavorful drinks, and importantly affordable prices. Ohhh it's worth the wait...promise!!! So please stop by this family-owned coffee/tea shop!! :-)
google avatar

Charmane V.

Yelp
Delicious Vietnamese coffee found here! My go-to order the Hanoi Egg Coffee, so creamy, sweet and a much needed kick of caffeine. The line gets pretty long out the door but their system of preparation works so well that the service goes by quickly! The coffee shop is small with limited seating inside, but there's so much to do in North Park, so it's a perfect grab and go drink.
google avatar

Sindy A.

Yelp
Going to be a go-to spot for us whenever we visit San Diego now! Our friend took us here on our trip and it was the perfect way to wake up from a night out. I tried the Famous Saigon and my husband got the Vegan Coconut. Both were great, strong, creamy, and not overly sweet.
google avatar

Bianca C.

Yelp
Best Vietnamese coffee I've had in a minute!! Was visiting SD for a friends birthday and needed a coffee joint that was gonna hit the spot and it did not disappoint! My friend had her eye on this place from social media and I'm so glad we gave it a try. We loved it so much we came two days in a row. Service was quick and seamless. Indoor seating. I ordered the coconut frappe. If I could have this weekly I was would be a happy woman .
google avatar

Linh N.

Yelp
Wow! So happy we found this shop on Yelp! As we drove up, there was already a line but I wanted to try it and was willing to wait. Surprisingly, they are quick and very efficient. The best Vietnamese coffee to date! We tried their Saigon and Hanoi egg coffee and can't wait to come back tomorrow. Their matcha is also delicious! Love the openness of the shop, the window view of the phin filters in progress and the friendliness of the staff. Perfect sweetness for all the drinks and loved the creaminess of the egg coffee. Will miss this place when we're back home. Thanks for a great experience. Stop by and check out this small business, you won't regret it.

Mckenna M.

Yelp
Friends brought me here on a Saturday morning around 10:30am and the line was out the door and along the sidewalk. Despite the intimidating line, it moved relatively fast and we got our drinks before 11am. I got the famous saigon coffee and I have to say, it's pretty close to the coffee I've had in Vietnam. It's not overly sweet and the coffee itself is strong, great taste. Interior is not necessarily small, there are multiple tables scattered throughout, but does feel a tiny bit cramped. Overall though, it really is a great place to go for true authentic tasting vietnamese coffee.
google avatar

Zaid D.

Yelp
Saigon has been on my list for over a year now. I'm glad that San Diego got a Vietnamese coffee shop. I normally get my Vietnamese coffee fix out in Orange County but I have found my go to out in SD. The line was a bit intimidating but it flew by really quick. Menu is short and simple. I've tried both the Millionaire and Charlie Brown. Both have been equally great coffee's. I love that the base is the same house Vietnamese coffee. The second time I came down I had to upgrade to a large because it was that good.
google avatar

Michelle M.

Yelp

Yelp
Saigon coffee was fantastic, I got their seasonal pumpkin spice one sort of and it was probably one of the best tasting coffee's I have ever had. The place is extremely popular, so try to go on a weekday if you're a college student wanting to try a popular place. Weekends, the line is out the door. The place is small, not meant for staying too long because of its popularity so not the best spot to have a chat with your buddy on a Sunday morning. Grab and go. Would try again!
google avatar

Rachel N.

Yelp
I came to visit from Santa Barbara and really wanted some delicious ice coffee .. this popped up on my yelp and this place is alllllll ABOUT it !!! Hands down and FEET included .. the BEST COFFEE I have ever had ! Parking is hard to find , but it's so well worth it. Ambience is just like any coffee shop. Great for a quick meet up , may get loud with the long line behind you. Even better to take it to go. The line is long , but they bust that line fast. Some seating in and outside , but I got myself a Millionaire and oppppppphhhh sooo good !!! It's a tiramisu foam and heaven once it hits that palate. I have never sipped on a coffee so slow to savor each sip ! It's strong so you'll be tackle the day feeling like some super women x 100.
google avatar

Melissa F.

Yelp
Don't let the line scare you, this Vietnamese Coffee will wake you UP! I like the classic Famous Saigon Coffee, just the normal size has 3-4 shots of espresso. The special drinks like the Egg Coffee/Millionaire Drink is good too but I prefer the classics! Parking Free street parking around the neighborhood but it is challenging. Be careful that 30th St does have paid parking now and you will get a ticket. Service/Wait Time/Aesthetic The wait time always looks way worse than it is. If the line goes back to where the alley starts on Lincoln, it's about a 30 min wait from there, and typically the workers come and bring water when it's looking out. Once you get your order in, the drinks come out pretty fast. There's not too much seating inside, it's more of a grab and go coffee shop vs lounge and chat. I love Saigon and think it's one coffee spots in North Park!
google avatar

Henri V.

Yelp
Saigon Coffee Perk up after the first sip? This little cafe is among the best for iced Vietnamese coffees. Located in trendy North Park, parking is always a challenge and a major pain. The parking enforcement must have drones patrolling the area. Last year, there was a lot on construction in the area, with very little unmarked parking, I got ticketed $89! Legal eagle Moi, I did contest it on appeal and won!! You may or may not be as lucky with winning in court or finding close by parking. Saigon coffee uses a Phin filter to make coffee. Phin filter employs a slow-drip brewing process that allows the coffee to steep slowly and thoroughly over several minutes. The shop pre makes several ahead of time to move the usual long line crowd of people, so no worries, the line moves quickly. The staff of mostly Vietnamese are efficient and helpful. I had my Vietnamese friend overhear these chatters and it's synonymous to being in a nail salon gossip lol. Wish they would be more professional by NOT chit chatting in Vietnamese or any other language about customers in front of customers is such a major faux pas. On a more positive note, the cafe shop as of today, has NOT received any Health violations and that scores volumes in my book. Bravo!! The menu offers iced drinks. The Hanoi egg coffee is ok. The super strong black coffee is indeed strong but too bitter. The iced matcha is not their forte. My fav is the Iced Vegan Coconut Vietnamese coffee, as I have sensitivities and am glad they offer a non dairy option. Their claim of fame is the Phin filter Vietnamese coffee and I would suggest one of those and get your Perk on. Recommend
google avatar

Ashley C.

Yelp
This was my first time trying Vietnamese coffee, and I was very pleasantly surprised by my experience. To start off, the cafe itself is a bit on the smaller side and has limited seating. There was also a bit of a line when I stopped by. Regardless, my order came out at a reasonable time. We ordered both the famous saigon coffee and the hanoi egg coffee. Both drinks were very sweet and strong. The egg foam was particularly delicious as it was quite creamy and added some extra flavor to the drink. Although I am not a huge coffee drinker, I certainly was a fan of these drinks. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Saigon Coffee! The workers were quite nice as well. I would likely return and order the same drinks!
google avatar

Matthew C.

Yelp
Very good egg coffee, very similar to the ones I've had in Vietnam. Super big. Only thing is it's a bit expensive for me. It's really well-made though so I understand but Gyattebayo it was like 9 dollars, my post-grad budget did NOT like that. Amazing coffee though, definitely try it if you've never had it. The establishment is also nice, great for people watching.
google avatar

Suraj P.

Yelp
The coffee here is incredible and definitely worth the wait! There was a bit of a line but it moves very fast. The staff was cranking out drinks and keeping things moving really well. The coffee was strong, delicious and pretty to look at as well. They have a good amount of seating indoor and the large windows keep the breeze flowing. Definitely would come back!
google avatar

Brianna L.

Yelp
super yummy that we started drinking before taking a picture. super strong coffee flavor without being too sweet. i personally liked the blended coffee more since it was a hotter day, but the egg coffee is also very good. inside of the shop has some seating, but the store is super busy so it might be a little tough to find a place to sit.
google avatar

Shirley W.

Yelp
Came a little bit after lunch and there was a short line. Line could be long, but it does go by quickly! The cashier is doing such a speedy job, and also handing out drinks, she's doing an amazing job LOL. We ordered the Hanoi Egg Coffee and the Famous Saigon Coffee. Our drinks didn't take too long since it seemed like everything was pre-made? So everything went by pretty quickly. I had the Hanoi Egg Coffee, and the egg cream top was delicious! Honestly this is very comparable to Da Vien, but I think I like this one a little bit more. You can definitely taste the vietnamese iced coffee underneath the cream bc it's stronggg. They do add a lot of ice to it, but it's to help dilute the coffee since it's very strong. The drink overall was delicious! Parking can be tricky since it's street parking. The coffee shop also have some tables but most people are here to just grab their drinks and go.

Nikki G.

Yelp
I was obsessed with this place and still wanna be, but realized I was getting severely ripped off. After several attempts ordering the same thing (the millionaire)I couldn't figure out why my coffee was gone and what felt like two little gulps. So one day I took all of the ice out and this is what I was actually getting for my $9.00 plus tax millionaire specialty coffee! Really upsetting that they would charge this much for this little of product! We work too hard to be receiving too little for our hard earned money! Please start giving people what they pay for we work really hard to earn our paychecks!
google avatar

Marie M.

Yelp
I am here to update my review since their opening - Saigon has become one of the staple coffee shops I consistently keep in my rotation of local San Diego coffee shops. Amazing service as always, very quick and concise. Strong bold flavor and always willing to make adjustments when you ask. As someone who never drank Vietnamese coffee before, I could probably blame them for starting an addiction I can't stop now! HA! But I am so glad they have succeeded so well in something as simple as a "cup of coffee". Can't wait for my next fix!
google avatar

Kimberly H.

Yelp
You know the coffee is good when you crack out! Arrived Sunday 9:45am (they open at 9am). The service was quick! I ordered the Egg Foam Coffee. It was perfectly sweeten and delicious! The shop is simple and sweet. Great place for first dates and girl hangouts. I'm not sure if kids would enjoy the menu. There is a window you can see them brewing the coffee.
google avatar

Kathleen Y.

Yelp
Got off the plane and made a beeline here (after a quick breakfast, of course) to get our caffeine fix for the day. Saigon is a mandatory stop anytime I'm visiting SD. The coffee is consistently sweet, strong, and delicious, and their Hanoi Egg Coffee is my absolute fave! Can't go wrong with any of the beverage choices tbh. Thanks as always, Saigon!
google avatar

Sandy K.

Yelp
I heard about this place from my cousin who resides in San Diego. Expect waiting in a que since this place is popular. I lucked out and found parking on the street since it was mid morning Sunday. The shop is modern, clean and the gal at the counter was friendly. We just had Vietnamese soup for breakfast, so this was perfect before I started the trek home to Los Angeles County. We tried the Saigon iced coffee & Hanoi egg coffee. I was impressed with the favor, richness and strength of my Saigon iced coffee. The turnaround on our drinks was prompt. I'll definitely return here again and highly recommend Saigon Coffee.
google avatar

Nini H.

Yelp
Oh man This the kind of place that makes you crave for it once you've left. Not just good while you're there, good and the thought continues to linger in the back of your mind until you can drive down there on your free weekend to pick up another cup. I have t come across a drink I didn't like - they're all good but different. I buy the bottle coffee to mix with my protein shakes in the morning. The coconut frappe is smooth and creamy. The millionaire is strong and packs a punch. Really can't go wrong. Haven't tried: matcha, iced drinks.
google avatar

Zana K.

Yelp
Had the matcha Latte and it was pretty decent. They used condensed milk which is delicious. Very small spot. They also have Vietnamese coffee that looks incredible. The service is good very nice lady. I would come back here again. Would love to try their other lattes.

Yelp
My search for great Vietnamese drip coffee in San Diego is over! I love the coffee here... it is so good. Probably the best Vietnamese coffee I've had in a while. It is super busy here... there's been a line out the door from the get go. We arrived, waited in line maybe 8-10 minutes and then placed our order. We received number 62. From our time sitting here maybe 20-30 minutes, they are now calling out number 105 and there is still a line of 10+ out the door. The good news is that the line moves pretty quickly and the coffee (at least in my opinion) is well worth the short wait. The coffee is everything you expect out of a good Vietnamese drip coffee... it is strong with a nice robust flavor. It has some bitterness, but the sweetness from the sweetened condensed milk kind of balances the taste. If you have never had Vietnamese coffee, I highly recommend trying it. I ordered a large regular Vietnamese coffee and "the Millionaire" for my family member in tow. The Millionaire is basically Vietnamese coffee with a Tiramisu foam on top. I tried some and liked it so much that I plan to order it next time. There's a cool story behind the Millionaire (see photo). The place is super clean, with a fair amount of seating. I saw a customer doing some work on her laptop. Service here is pretty good. The young woman that took my order was very nice and I was even offered a taste of the Vietnamese coffee before I purchased one. As we were sitting, there was a party with a toddler/baby that had some spilled water. The owner (I recognized her from the background story to Saigon Coffee posted inside the shop) came out to help clean the spilled water. She even returned and brought a new cup of water with a lid to the toddler/baby. She was nice about the spill and said she understood because she had kids. I witnessed this whole thing and thought about how wonderful service is here! The owner was walking around the shop picking up and clearing any trash she found on the ground or tables. She even did this outside of her store. So this place is super clean! The only negative for the area is the parking situation. North Park / Normal Heights area the parking can be difficult to come by. It may take some time to find parking, but I think it's worth it because the area has some worthwhile places to visit. I also wish they were open longer hours for people like me that might need a late afternoon pick me up... but it is what it is. They are open from 9:00 am-3:00 pm daily. Overall, I enjoyed the coffee and my experience here at Saigon Coffee. I also like to support small businesses. Another thing I thought was great was seeing a business owner being hands on. You don't always see this from business owners. I will definitely return. 5 / 5: Coffee (Vietnamese coffee and the Millionaire) 5 / 5: Cleanliness 5 / 5: Service 5 / 5: Overall

Yelp
Long lines are the norm here at this popular Vietnamese coffee joint. They say they are traditional phin coffee, but the real stuff at Little Saigon/City Heights are better. Don't get me wrong! They still make good coffee, but it's more like melted coffee ice cream + condensed milk then fresh robusta coffee. A once in a while treat is good here though - it's just sugar!

Yelp
Very good coffee and I can see why the line is long! The Ha Noi coffee with egg cream top is a must try. The egg cream is sweet. Very strong Vietnamese authentic coffee taste. Staff are friendly and explained well about their drinks and try to move the line fast.

Yelp
Great, strong, flavorful Vietnamese coffee spot in North Park. Cute little corner shop in North Park with minimal tables inside and out. Service is always so quick and friendly. Parking can be tough in the area as there is no dedicated lot. Worth it though for the coffee! My go to is the Famous Saigon and I always get the bottle as well to drink throughout the week. Prices are fair compared to other spots.

Yelp
Came by around 9 or 10 in the morning, and the line wasn't too bad. I really liked the open windows, the natural light, and breeze gave the place a great vibe. , I ordered the matcha, and my partner went with the Hanoi egg coffee. I'm not much of a coffee drinker, so I usually stick to matcha, which, by the way, has a beautiful color and smooth taste. But this time? I actually liked the coffee more. It was rich, unique, and surprisingly enjoyable for someone who rarely drinks it. Definitely a spot worth checking out if you're a coffee lover. Who knows, it might just convert me into one.

Yelp
First time trying this place and it was great! There was a long line but it moved pretty quickly. There's plenty of seating inside, however, there isn't an air conditioning so it is a bit hot in there. I had the coconut frappe and it was delicious! My friends had the Strawberry Tea, Peach Tea, and matcha and they all said they were delicious. I will be going back to try the other drinks!

Yelp
We got the matcha and it was delicious, a little sweet, but after the first sip, it mellows out. The space is bright, fresh, and clean. The service is super fast, efficient and friendly!
