Casa Dora, a wonderful little Italian place tucked away in the bustling city center of Jacksonville.
Atmosphere, its easily one of the better atmospheres in a restaurant I've experienced and I have experienced alot of them, from the moment you walk in its a blast to the past and feels you never stepped outta the 90s and early 2000s, jazz and blues are playing, loud enough so you can hear and enjoy but quiet enough to where you can enjoy your peace and hear your own thoughts, its a quaint little place but sometimes thats the best places.
Food, well what can I say besides its amazing, you can tell everything is made from scratch, is it the best food on the planet? No but the love and care put into the preparation and making sure the community gets to eat real food goes beyond just taste, it's a true example of the art of cooking and it still tastes wonderful regardless!
Staff and service, now this is where Casa Dora shines above all other restaurants, I discovered this place about a year ago with my father and its been our little secret spot, from day one the people there have made Casa Dora feel like its our home too, they're wonderful old fashioned ppl, old fashioned in the regard that theyre still human, they value community connections and extending their home as your home, Casa Dora goes above and beyond for customer service and even goes above and beyond for just human beings in general, they deserve all the business in the world, please go here and talk to them, make connections and build a sense of community! I hope my review leads some good ppl there not folks who just pop in and sit on their phones and act dismissive, some folks who want a place to spend time with family and chat over dinner or lunch or who wanna experience a real community feel.
Price, well the price is rlly the only thing about Casa Dora that isnt amazing but its not horrible, Casa Dora will set you back about almost any restaurant will, 20 to 30 per person but the homemade food is worth it, and they have a lunch special too which is about 10 dollars I believe for two big ol slices of homemade new York style pizza, from a man who lived in new York at that and a drink.
All in all Casa Dora for me gets a 9.5/10 for their community feel, the way their home feels like your home and the delicious homemade food, please go here and try it!
