On the Grid : Little Bee Bakery

"Opened in 2013 by a local baker (and Chez Panisse pastry chef veteran) Stacie Pierce, Little Bee Bakery sells delicate pastries, made to order cakes and delicious coffee from its delightful shop. Spoil your kids with a hand scooped ice cream cone while you relax, coffee in hand, at their cozy table, watching the neighborhood scurry by." - Strohl

Pop-Up Bernal Bakery Will Open a New Cafe in the Little Bee Space | Eater SF

"Founded and run by longtime Chez Panisse pastry chef Stacie Pierce, the Little Bee Bakery cafe — whose space at 521 Cortland Avenue in Bernal Heights had served as Bernal Bakery’s first wholesale account and hosted Bernal Bakery pop-ups every Thursday — will be closed as Pierce shifts focus to other parts of her business; Pierce wanted the space to remain local and to be carried on by someone who would keep it community-centered, leading her to pass the turnkey-ready location to the Bernal team." - Lauren Saria

Stacy and her team work pure magic with their culinary skills. The balanced sweetness of the cake with a touch of sea salt was nothing less than perfection. They consider every small suggestion/recommendation and coordinates superbly so that you can you can surprise your loved one without worrying. Thanks for helping me in making my sister's birthday a memorable one.

The wedding cake Stacie made for us is just incredible. Beautiful inside out. All the guests are so amazed by it and became a fan of Little Bee Bakery in a minute. I have been always a fun of Stacie's pastries, but never had a chance to try the custom cake. WoW, highly recommend. Thank you so much, Stacie. We appreciate your work and it made us so happy.

Put your fat pants on when you go to Little Bee Bakery. Owned by the former head pastry chef of famed Chez Panisse, it channels Norman Rockwell to fit seamlessly into the surrounding Bernal Heights neighborhood. The small display case serves up an array of sweet and savory delights, generously butter-enriched, and only those with an alien level of restraint will be able to leave with just one item. Spread your purchases out on the farm table inside to eat at your leisure and, if you have children, make them play with the toys Little Bee provides so you can eat whatever you bought for them, too. You'll have to get your sugar fix at another establishment on Wednesdays, however - the one day Little Bee is closed.

My birthday cake turned out so good!! the real succulents made the cake extra special for my plant theme party and my friends loved and appreciated this gluten-free cake with ganache and swiss meringue! It was really tasty and would order another again! Super easy to order online and pickup with instructions. Also, their pastries are lovely too!

Wow! This cake was a HIT. “Best cake I’ve ever had” is one of the many compliments we got.. and I also personally said while celebrating! We went with the gluten free almond cake, lemon curd filling, seasonal berries and chocolate ganache. We also got the challah and that was delicious too. Will definitely be back and I recommend!

Delicious!! I've been ordering Little Bee baked goods from Good Eggs on a weekly basis and they never disappoint. Love the Flourless Choc Brownie and Almond-Cornmeal Loaf Cake!!
