The place provided a variety of foods where you can order through the server for meats and head out to a buffet for other selection of seafoods, vegetables, and noodles. (+ have a hot bar and dessert bar). Overall good food and service. 👍

What a great spot! The service is amazing. The gang is kind, patient and generous with time and yummies. The location is easy to get to and ample parking for cars and people. It makes for an expensive meal, but it's made to order by you so you can experiment to get exactly what you want! Took a star on food because I haven't mastered hot pot cooking yet.

The fooooooodd!!!! Omg it was amazing!!! I got the spicy broth, it was fantastic! But beware all the spice was at the bottom. The all you can eat selections were overwhelming in a good way!! Soooo many sauces to chose from and the atmosphere was awesome!! Definitely will be back!!

We had wonderful dining experience in Honey pig! Great food with wide selections, from vegetables, meat and desserts. The space is also large and clean. Will come back again and bring more friends!

I would have given it 5 stars, but like McDonald’s, the ice cream machine was down. Hahahaha! On the serious side, the food we got was very good for buffet food. Problem is I’ve been to the Honey Pig buffet in Rockville when they were open and they were better. There are a few things I would change. One is to update the sauce staton to better match the other hot pot places. The other is to add steamed eggs and deon jang to their buffet.

I had a great experience at Honey Pig! The restaurant is spacious, making it comfortable even when it’s busy. The food was excellent—high-quality meats cooked right at the table by the staff, which made it super easy and enjoyable. One of the highlights was the generous variety of side dishes that kept coming throughout the meal. Everything was fresh and flavorful. It’s a great spot for Korean BBQ lovers, especially if you’re going with a group. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Amazing food! The staff gave really good service and the resturant was kept clean. The meat was high quality and the veggies were fresh too! So many choices of sauce, 10/10 recommend to come here.

First time here, my group and I really enjoyed this place! A lot of staff checked on us and they were very friendly. Brian stood out the most, he was knowledgeable about the menu options and made the night more fun. Wish we could have him take care of us every time. First time here but definitely not last.

This is for their all you can eat BBQ experience. ------ Came to Honey Pig for Korean BBQ and had such a great experience! The restaurant is super spacious, which is perfect for groups or just having a more relaxed meal. The staff cooks the meat right at the table, and everything was cooked perfectly, tender, juicy, and full of flavor. I am fairly picky with my meat and dare I say, the BEST AYCE I've had in the P5Y living in the DMV area. Their chadol was SUCH great quality. What also stood out was the variety and quality of the side dishes, there's so many, and they're all delicious. Among their side dishes, the tteokbokki....!!! Idk what rice cake they are using but it's SOOO chewy. Don't skip dessert either--the ice cream at the end was such a nice surprise and the perfect way to cool down after a hot BBQ meal. Definitely a place I'd come back to, and recommend if you're craving solid Korean food and a fun dining experience!

Tasty hot pot. We visited Honey Pig Hot Pot & BBQ on a Saturday night, and it was packed but we only had to wait about 15 minutes. Each table is outfitted with individual hot pot boilers and a grill in the the middle of the table. The employees fill your pots with the broth of your choice and bring out meats for you to grill or stick in your broth. Vegetables, seafood, and sauces are available from the buffet. I stuck to vegetables for my visit. I tried the mala base and dipped the cooked vegetables in yum yum sauce. The selection of vegetables and seafood was fantastic. The mala base had a lovely kick and flavor, and the yum yum sauce was delicious. I had a great visit at Honey Pig Hot Pot & BBQ and would recommend them for a hot pot experience in Ellicott City.

Hot pot and Korean BBQ together? Yum! My friend and I definitely ate our fill here. Our fave meats were beef bulgogi, chicken bulgogi, and the lamb racks. I added some gochujang and hoisin sauce to my meats which gave it so much flavor between the spicy and sweet sauces. The broth I chose for hot pot was the mala which was a good spicy soup base. There were lots of ingredients at the buffet station to choose from. Always a fun experience at these places. Staff were helpful coming to help us cook our meats and take any additional orders we had. Plenty of options to choose from at the buffet station to make you feel satiated and I'd come back again.

We were craving KBBQ for a while and this place hit the spot! The AYCE BBQ also comes with a lot of sides that you grab yourself, including kimchi, lettuce, garlic, a huge variety of sauces, california rolls, fried chicken, tteokbokki, veggies, and more. Because of this I was able to customize the flavor combos to exactly what I wanted. For meats, we especially loved their plain pork belly. The servers are certainly busy but occasionally come around to help grill. Everything came out to about $50 per person including tip.

We went for my sisters birthday with family and friends. The place was nice but as a person that doesn't go to hot pot restaurants often, I wasn't properly explained the set up. Anyway, there is a buffet with decent sushi and fresh veggies. The meat from the bbq was decent but honestly I have had better seasoned food. The servers didn't check on us enough in my opinion. The price point was good though. Due to this being a family dinner I wasn't snapping pics of food. I like to be present. A thing to note is there are two locations so be sure to specify which one you are going to. Honestly, I won't be back.

Wonderful service and food was amazing! 10/10 would come back when we visit Maryland! They seated all 9 of us and were extremely attentive.

Honey Pig is the best Korean bbq in town! We did the all you can eat Korean bbq and were not disappointed one bit! The brisket is all cut fresh and all the meats were absolutely phenomenal (our favorites were the brisket, lamb and steak)! Our server, Brian, took care of us and made sure our experience was top notch. He provided several great recommendations and always was sure to check in on us. He is by far our favorite! Overall we consistently love our experience at Honey Pig and always crave going back!

4 star? You must be joking. The worst hot pot I ever had in my life. The quality of the food here is so low that I rather get instant ramen at home instead. Surprisingly, the servers were attentive and friendly. But I wouldn't be returning here knowing how bad the food here is. Overall ambiance was pretty depressing with outdated decor and neglected facility. Let's all face it, Ellicott City does not have very good restaurants overall. So I have pretty low expectations for restaurants in the area. However, the experience I had at Honey Pig was even worse than my expectations. First of all, the meat quality is trash. The buffet had a dreadful selection of mediocre at best foods. I tried just about every food available and none of them tasted half decent. Don't want to talk all negative but this is what I experienced. I would probably just go to Chosun Hwaro instead.

DO NOT WAIST YOUR TIME AND MONEY !!! The restaurant is not as good as it used to be. The food is overpriced, and we were not allowed to order a dish first and then a second one -we had to order both at the beginning . The place looked empty, dingy, the atmosphere was unpleasant, and the K-pop music was "underwhelming". After receiving the food, the waitress never asked if we needed anything, and they automatically added the tip to the bill (we ere only 2 people). To make things worse, the waiters were eating and talking loudly, next to us the whole time. Overall, a very an awful experience.

My family and I love this place. Prices are reasonable considering all you get. The bbq is my favorite. The soy garlic steak, hanging tender, and the lamb chop are my favorite. However the beef brisket, Spicy Beef balgoni and the herb pork belly are also tasty. Really, there's no bad options on the bbq side! The hot pot side has endless combinations. I personally love the fresh veggies that are available like baby bok choi, green onions, white cabbage, and mushrooms. My wife's favorite are the shrimp and noodles (there's so many options for noodles). I also love the endless crab legs as well. They give you three broth options including pork bone, veggie, and a spicy one. What I mentioned above is only a small sample of what they have. Similarly, they have about 10 different dipping sauces for the meat, and all are high quality. We come here about twice a month and it's never a disappointment!

I am very glad that we made another visit here. They have really improved since their opening. The food there is excellent, and they have many wonderful options: hot chicken wings, taeboki, corn cheese pizza, pepperoni pizza, fried dumplings. On the uncooked side, fresh cut noodles, lots of seafood; crag legs, blue crab, scallops, clams, mussels, fish, fresh vegetables, variety of meatballs. They have 3 different kinds of soup. The meats are great quality and brought out fresh. They also have a soft serve ice cream machine. I really enjoyed my dinner there. The service is great, they were helpful to cook our meats. I hope to go back again soon!

I really wanted to like this place, but the hot pot was truly disappointing. When we heard about this place opening, we were originally super excited because Honey Pig was our favorite place for KBBQ in MD. However, the mala hot pot broth at this restaurant was super bland and lacked flavor. We even asked for extra mala paste to add to our broth and after adding 3 full scoops, the soup just became a tad more salty, but definitely not a spicy, flavorful broth we've gotten at other restaurants. As for the KBBQ, it was delish as always! The serving portions are large, and we love dipping the meat in our favorite sauces. Next time we are back, it'll probably just be for KBBQ.

Decent BBQ. Not the best but acceptable for a Korean BBQ. They started having lunch specials which makes it a nice place to have a quick affordable lunch.

My boyfriend and I dined at Honey Pig this past weekend. We opted to do both kbbq and hot pot. The options were endless. The service was quick, friendly, and helpful. The restaurant is very loud as ever tables exhaust hood is running but you will find that at any kbbq/hotpot restaurant. I loved that they had dessert! They had a soft serve machine with toppings. All of our food was flavorful and delicious. We will definitely be back.

We came here for the restaurant week lunch promotion of AYCE for $25, but they wouldn't honor it on a Sunday which wasn't mentioned on the HCRW website. But otherwise, food offerings was good- even with a picky eater. We got several variations of pork belly and chicken. We tried the hanging tender which was our favorite and even got some small lamb chops! They have a cold bar to pick up veggies and other seafood items to cook, but we found the grill too small for this and for 6 people wanting different things. I personally would rather have the sides brought to the table, but this location had more options!

Quick seating and efficient service. Our group gets both the hot pot and bbq. Of course we are always stuffed! I've read that some are not satisfied with the broth. Part of the fun is using the many sauces and veggies to make your hot pot your own. We will return!

TIP: Your entire party must be present to be seated Honey Pig isn't the new kid on the block. In fact, it's one of our go to spots of many to enjoy some good Korean BBQ. This location is unique, though, because it's all you can eat Korean BBQ + Hot Pot. A few other differences to note is the portions of each batch of meat you order seemed to be less than when we go to our original (not all you can eat spot), they don't have as many sides or other selections of entrees besides the meat. The sides were limited to radish, bean sprouts, daikon, Kimchi and lettuce (to wrap your meat). Note, there are numerous ingredients for hot pot. Now to the set up. The tables have individual spots for the hot pot and a grill. There are buffet style spreads for a variety of options for the hot pot, a few sides (mentioned above) to go with your bbq, and a sauce bar along with rice. You have the option to get all you can eat bbq OR all you can eat Hot Pot. When I asked to get one hot pot and two bbq (party of 3); I was disappointed when I was told the entire table has to have one or the other - bbq or hot pot and we couldn't mix and match. If it's all you and eat and priced per person - bbq or hot pot - I don't understand why I couldn't order one or the other per person. I didn't make a fuss; we just went with the bbq across the table. We ordered six rounds of meat - (2) Brisket, (1) Pork Belly, (1) Spicy Pork Belly, and (1) Beef Bulgogi and Korean Rice Wine. The food was great. I did miss my all time favorite go to japchae and kimchi pancake. I also would have loved more variety of sides (cucumber, egg, potatoes, etc.), however sides variety depending on the restaurant so I understand. The all you can eat option (totally cost of our bill) was close to what we normally spend when we go to the other Honey Pig location because we get the additional entrees. The debate in my family was which one we prefer. I prefer the other location while my family prefers this one because they're meat eaters and love the all you can eat option. It's a good thing both aren't far from each other so we can rotate which one we go to (among other favorite Korean restaurants alone Baltimore National Pike/Route 40. Service was good. I have to admit as a person that gets hangry, the gal that was cooking our meat was tad slow on the pace scale for me, however I could use some practice with my patience so I won't fault her. In summary, I'd go back. I do like the other side of where there is a bar. I didn't see any signs but I I believe they have karaoke available on the bar side. If not, the other location has karaoke which I highly recommend.

The beef bulgogi and spicy pork belly are always my go-tos. The service is quick. I love the k-pop on the screens, which adds a fun ambiance.

Great service! This place reminded me so much of my most favorite place to eat in Hawaii, Kogi Aina! Fresh veggies meat and da hot pot! I can't quite remember how much all you can eat was, but I'm sure 35 bucks is on point. Remember everyone at the table must get the same thing. The waiters don't make the rules so don't be annoying and give them a hard time. I landed on the kim chee base for my hot pot! All the fresh ingredients were what I am used to seeing at a hot pot! Our waitress was really nice and very helpful and explaining to us the barbecue and hot pot so for five dollars more you can do just barbecue and hot pot and you get everything at the Buffet. I am pretty sure it was the owner but she was walking around making sure everything was running smoothly you can tell she runs a tight ship I like it. also everything was very clean I saw multiple workers coming out tidying up the Buffet area it was nothing out of place I love it The variety of sauces they have is another element to the hot pot I am used to! I really can't say enough good things about this place I will definitely be back and it is so good to know that I have a hot pot pretty close to home!

This place has a really great atmosphere. We were greeted and sat as soon as we got there. The server told us how everything works and we took directions from the top. Everyone at your table must choose the same menu so if you only want the bbq but someone wants hotpot as well, you must also pay that price. Something to consider, when thinking about this place. I wouldn't let it stop you though, it is an all-you-can eat restaurant. The buffet is amazing and you can choose from all the veggies, meats, dumplings, kimchi, and etc., that your heart desires. They even have a little robot that brings you the food to your table after you order. The servers will also assist in cooking your meat. If it's something you do t want help with, just simply ask them not to do it and they will gladly abide by your request. Overall a great experience!

If it's for a regular daily eat out, I will never go to Honey pig. Reasons being, I always felt rushed. Especially dislike when they cook for me rather to let me cook and to take my time enjoy my food.. However, when you have a party of 10 people , the first place came to my mind was honey pig. For large parties they are the only one have tables and space big enough to host this amount of people. Also, in this case to have them cooking for you become convenient.

Great food, service excellent as usual. The food bar bar had a wide range of meats and seafood items. The restaurant was clean and well staffed - eager to serve.

Our second time here. This time for my son's birthday. From the time we were greeted at the door to when we finished our meal, the service was great. I love how they work together as a team. From taking our order to delivering the meat to how they grill and cut it. Our servers Bella and Howard were awesome. The service is also super quick, and I got to meet the legend herself: Ms Honeypig. She is super nice and even made me her special sauce which was yummy. I highly recommend this place. Better go hungry, so you can enjoy everything.

If you are familiar with hot pot and Korean barbecue, you probably would enjoy this restaurant. It is located in the Normandy Woods shopping Center in Ellicott city. There is plenty of parking shared with other businesses in the shopping center. Very easy to locate the shiny new building. If you're familiar with Honey Pig And Korean barbecue you know what to expect a little bit, but this is a lot different from the other location further up Route 40. For starters, it is much more spacious than the other location. The tables have a good bit of distance in between each other. You can choose to get hot pot or Korean BBQ or both. The only drawback is that if one person at your table orders both everyone will have to get both. When I took my daughter and nephew, I only wanted to have Korean BBQ, but they wanted hot pot so we had to pay for both. The menu is very simple not many options to choose from as far as meats. But they do have a lot of other choices at the hot pot Ingredient bar. You can choose your noodles, different vegetables, dumplings, and a host of other add-ons that you can put into your hot pot. They also have an assortment of different sauces and rice. For the hot pot you can choose from three different types of soup base. Do you have the bone broth, traditional, and spicy. On this occasion, I chose the bone broth. Be careful if you've never had hot pot before like me. I kept my hot plate on the highest setting to boil my soup and it was way too hot to eat. I think scald my tongue when I had my first sip of my soup. They have a limited drink menu with several important and domestic beers. They have a few mixed drinks as well as soju. The Korean barbecue they bring the meat directly to your table and you can cook it yourself in the center cooking area. If you need any assistance, the staff are more than helpful to get you started or to cut up your meat for you. Be aware that they will charge you a $10 fee for excessive food waste if you did not eat all of the food that you order. This is especially useful information if you bring children who have eyes way bigger than their stomachs and want to grab everything but don't want to eat anything like my daughter Overall the staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was very inviting and I would definitely come back again.

I love Korean BBQ. The sliced pork belly was delicious. The spicy noodles, pasta and fish cakes was delicious. The drinks were amazing and the service was great. I will definitely be back for more!

My family have tried all the hot pot/bbq spots in the area except this new one so decided to try it out. When you walk in, it's nice and clean with tons of pink pig wall paintings. We decided to do both hot pot and bbq. Our server was ok. He was very attentive in the beginning, helping us cook the bbq meat but after a while, he disappeared and had to ask couple times to get more water. So for the hot pot, limited soup selection. Only original, mala and pork bone. Our server brought our soups out pretty quick. I got the mala soup and rest got the pork bone soup. I was very disappointed with the soup. Both the mala soup and the pork bone soup was so bland. It just tasted like they added little bit of salt into the soup and little spice for mala soup. I couldn't eat my hot pot after couple bites. The selections for hot pot was good but they did not have sacha sauce. How do you offer hot pot and not have sacha sauce?!?! Definitely would not recommend this place for hot pot Now for the BBQ, I was happy with everything except for the fact they had limit on pork jowl and beef chuck finger meat (1 per customer I believe). If there's a limit you really should not be calling it AYCE! I did like that they had that garlic/soy dipping sauce for the beef briskets. If you're looking for good AYCE bbq options, hot pot options or both, there's couple options in the area that's much better and is actually AYCE.

My friends and I always like to support new businesses in the area. This location is one we agreed we will not be returning to. Yes, this Ellicott City location is brand new and its a soft opening. But, the Honey Pig chain has been around for almost 20 years. Considering all of the great Asian KBBQ and hot pot places in the area you would think they would want to stand out for the right reasons. Limited KBBQ meat options, hot pot broths were unseasoned and service was hit or miss. Only 5 KBBQ meats to choose from and you can still get some of the seafood from the cold bar area. Hot pot broths were bland and some of the noodles were frozen. I'm really hoping they add some more cuts to KBBQ menu, maybe add a hot food bar or some dessert items as well. Concept is great, but just poor execution.

I was excited when we pulled into the shopping center and saw there was a second Honey Pig. There were plants and ribbons outside which signified they were still the opening. We decided to go in for lunch and have the Honey Pig experience. It was explained to us after I looked at the menu and didn't see short ribs that they were doing things a little different than the original Honey Pig. Our waitress informed us they didn't want to compete with the other Honey Pig so their selection of meats were small. I do not like the buffet aspect and I am not a fan of having to get up multiple times from my table to get food so I grabbed everything I thought I needed before we started cooking. There were a lot of items to choose from on the buffet and most of them looked fresh. If I would have chosen to go with hot pot, I do not think I would have been pleased with the selections offered. They also charge dinner all day starting Friday! Our waitress was very helpful and nice. Cooking the food yourself is not the same as having someone cook for. The taste is off. I don't know all of the seasonings they put on the meat and I really don't want to try to figure that out when I'm paying for my food to be cooked for me. I was able to gather some marinades for our second round of meat but I don't want to have to figure that out when I'm paying for my food. That's what I do at home and I do that ahead of time in preparation. In the end, there was nothing that really stood out about this restaurant. I've seen this style copied so many times and I'm just never a fan of buffets either. I definitely wash my hands and bring enough sanitizer (this is pre covid) but when I am dining at an establishment, I like to be served and I pay for it. Consumers are paying double; for the meal and absence of additional staff preparing meals. Businesswise, it's a good concept. You need minimum staff in the back preparing the food, consumers are cooking their own food and bringing the majority of it to their table & minimum wait staff serving more tables. I feel like I should have been tipped lol. Having to leave my food at the table and get up to gather food is not appealing to me. There are plenty of people walking past the table all the time. I feel like this definitely makes it easier for the restaurant to have low staff and a lower overhead. For the consumer, we are made to do pretty much everything: cook our own food, go get our own food, but we're not trusted to get the main and more pricier ingredients like the meat. I'm just not a fan and we'll visit the original Honey Pig a few miles down the road. Not a fan

Three servers kept on coming by and turning down the flame the whole time we were there. The exhaust fans that cover each table were for decoration only. I was sucking up the smoke from the grill at the table next to us. Servers didn't seem to care about the vent fans not working. Dining room light circuits are overloaded and were strobing throughout dinner. Meat took over 30 minutes to cook. One shrimp took 45 minutes. Flame went out for 5 min. Had to ask the server to relight it. No salad bar cooked vegetables available. Vegetables were not dine after an hour of being on the grill because the servers kept on turning down the flame.

First visit. Delicious. All four of us left well fed and happy. Simply ordered meats (brisket, Spicy Pork Belly, Rib Skirt). They added Steamed Egg & Soybean Soup. It was "fighting for last morsel" good. Staff took care of us like we were regulars. Clean, well lit, and good sounds playing low enough to not disturb conversations. Excellent value also. Stellar!

I didn't know what to expect. I never been to a restaurant like this and my friend and I came from out of town and were amazed. I am so full and so satisfied totally worth it. If I didn't live two or three states away I would visit more

I don't like all the rules...you can't "waste" food, you can have a doggie bag. Otherwise the buffet and BBQ was ok. But I won't be back.

I love this place clean and the staff is just freaking amazing. Food is food is fresh and presented well variety. Now let's talk about the staff They're friendly, great sense of humor, helpful and so tentative you're ever need you truly cannot go wrong

Now that I'm not a novice, I was able to enjoy Honey Pig that much more! I knew what to do and where to go but to make matters better our server was AMAZING! He had all that we needed available, had suggestions (the garlic sauce is outstanding) and was generally pleasant and helpful. My previous experience was good but our server this time was more attentive. Maybe because it was a rainy Saturday evening. Being that it was a rainy Saturday, we were seated quickly, reservations only for 6 or more, and the restaurant was quieter than my previous trip. Oh, they have a service robot! Super cool, you place an order and a robot brings your food?

My family and I love a hot pot and a Korean style BBQ grill so we were excited to try this spot out. I only wanted the grill option, but my wife and daughter wanted the hot pot and we were told by the waitress that if that was the case everyone has to pay $5 more per person for both. I was put off by this because I really didn't want hot pot, but was being forced to pay for it as well. Now, you may say to yourself it's only $5 more, but when you're already paying $35 per person without drinks now you add a total of $15 for the bill, plus the tax, plus it's going to increase the total bill adding onto the cost. So it ends up being around $21 extra to eat something we really didn't want. The service was great, portions were good, layout is exceptional and clean.

Usually go to Iron Age for Korean bbq but wanted to try a new place nearby and this place surpassed my expectations! We got bulgogi and fried dumplings, we thought price and quality of everything was excellent!

Be careful! There are now two establishments in Ellicott City that bear the name 'Honey Pig'. The first is the a la carte HP that's been around for several years. The new one that just opened recently offers AYCE hot pot and Korean BBQ. For AYCE, it's priced similarly to other restaurants that offer the same options. Young children (under 4 feet?) are $10 and adults are $40. Highlights of the BBQ, definitely the pork jowl, which is similar to the pork belly, but a little more high end. They do limit the quantity for this a a couple of other cuts of meat. Other than that, you get 90 minutes to gorge. I especially appreciated the soy bean paste and lettuce to accompany the BBQ; and a real treat was the steamed cabbage leaves (for wraps). As is typical with these types of AYCE places, everyone at the table must order the same thing; either BBQ, hot pot, or both. I guess they do that to prevent unlawful sharing. The hot pot could use a few more greens as options, but it's got the essentials. The seafood is out in the fixings bar, so go crazy with the shrimp, clams, and anything from the sea. The sauce bar is also very neat and tidy. Service was attentive. It was moderately busy. My server told us that he would help, but we would be grilling some stuff on our own. As I typically do for AYCE, pass on the rice. It just fills you up.

By far, my favorite all you can eat hot pot in Baltimore to Howard county area. I've been here a handful of times since they opened. I love the large selection of sides we can choose from and how spacious it is. I'm all about sauces and the selection is great too, except for the fact they don't have Sacha, which y'all neeeeed. I'm happy that they have my bean paste though. The service is top notch too, constantly coming to the table if we like any more meats or to cook meats on our grill. Will come here every time for my hot pot fix!

Our server was amazing! I hate that I didn't get his name! He had REALLY fluffy hair! He was so sweet and thoughtful! Our friend had been going thru a breakup and a song came on that upset her, she cried and walked out. He asked where she went we explained the situation and he proceeded to change the songs to make the vibe more up beat and she was able to enjoy the rest of the night! He and another guy in a black hat made the atmosphere so much better for her and went above and beyond with their service! Will definitely be back and hopefully have him as our waiter again!

Coming here is always good. I absolutely love the pork belly. The staff are accommodating and the food is tasty. However, sometimes service can be a bit slow and the place a bit too crowded.

We had hotpot here. It is buffet. And the hotpot is very bad, from soup base, to sauce, not the same level as hotpot hero and other hotpot place. The soup has no flavor at all, the sauce is very sweet, it is soy sauce plus sugar. The tofu is sour and bad. There is no ice cream dessert, only three kinds of cake and two fruits. It is called honeypig hotpot, but it is neither honeypig, or hotpot.

Honey Pig is always a first choice when trying to figure out what to eat when we don't want to cook at home. The food is always incredible, the service is always great and the atmosphere is always lively.

The first things I noticed were the buffet style layout for the Hot Pot items (everything except meat) and the easy to reach controls for the burner. In addition to the buffet, there were a couple of things I'd never seen at a Hot Pot or Korean BBQ place, the pots sit recessed in the table, a welcome change from pots on stands over sterno, and the grill plate for BBQ sits flush with the table top, no reaching blindly into a bit of fire. The staff wasn't attentive, pleasant and helpful and it was always easy to catch their eye in a reasonable amount to time. The restaurant wasn't busy, only a few tables were occupied, it was later afternoon and there were only two servers. I was very disappointed Honey Pig doesn't have a soda fountain and charges $2.50 for a can of soda that wholesales for 50¢. The water is tepid, they don't adhere to American's obsession with ice, and is served in a decent sized water flask with cute graphics. We decided to have BBQ and Hot Pot (only $5.00/person more) and I'm not sure I would recommend it as it's a lot. We had the Brisket and Bulgogi for BBQ and were happy with both, it's so much easier to manage the grill when you can so easily see it. Most of the cooking was done by the staff though, they were more attentive to the grill than we are used to at other restaurants. There are only three broths for Hot Pot and I had hoped from a tomato option. We both had the House (?) Broth and I can take it or leave it, we'll try the Pork Broth next time. Things were good carrots, green beans, green onions, scallops, meat dumplings, melons, pork belly. Disappointments vegetable dumplings, didn't like the taste at all and they disintegrate in the pot. The button mushrooms were fantastic, can't remember that last time we had mushrooms with that amount of flavor. The fish cake was also a surprise, while the taste wasn't too different from others I've had, the texture was truly unique, they had a very pleasant firmness. Lastly the orange jello, perfectly firm and with an unexpected fullness to its orange flavor. The men's bathroom had a trough sink, the floor looked like exposed concrete and still have forced air hand dryers. It was reasonably clean and a family bathroom is available, but I expect more for $35/$40 a person.
