What a sweet little gem of a saloon!! My first time in and it did not disappoint!! Awesome atmosphere with the friendliest staff!! So nice to be greeted with a giant smile!! This place is BUSY but they handle it like rockstars!! You can put a dollar on the wall that's collected at the end of the year and donated to charity!! They also have live music everyday!! The food was good, too!! If you're in the neighborhood, I highly recommend this one!!

This is my happy place, i have been going for over 25 years. I know I can go and have great service, Wade always makes me feel safe and has my beer ready for me as soon as I walk in, he’s got a great memory with interacting with so many customers thy love him. The music is always amazing. Wade even saves my sweatshirt in the back because I get cold. I love this Bar.

Another visit Dec 2023. It doesn’t change from the last time. Always a good time and you get exactly what you expect from a classic dive cowboy bar!it’s just a Great small box cowboy dive bar. The decor is memorable and funny, esp the “big butt chairs”! We were there on a Sunday and they had a cowboy singer strumming a guitar and a few folks got up to dance in the middle of the bar! Cool hole in the war bar with live music located right in Old Town Scottsdale. Good priced drinks, and great atmosphere. No thrills at this bar, just an amazing time. It’s very small, so be ready to pack in, drink and sing until your heart is content.

Rusty Spur Saloon is a gem in Scottsdale, being the oldest bar built in 1951. The experience here is incredibly cool and unique, with awesome decor that transports you back in time. It can get very packed during evenings and weekends, so depending on your crowd preferences, you should plan accordingly. Parking is free but can be tricky to find depending on the time of day. All in all, it’s definitely worth a visit for the atmosphere and history alone!

This is a very popular Scottsdale Cowboy bar with great live combo rock and country bands attracting beautiful people of all ages. Small but very memorable!

Ah, yes! The Rusty Spur Saloon is my kind of place! I love the vibe of this small, honkey-tonk, country-western "saloon." The servers and bar tenders are very personable. I like the Saturday afternoon vibe which includes a live country western single-double person(s) performers that take requests. After a few beers, I find myself singing along with yhe one-man band if I didn't eat any munchies to coat my stomach! LOL! It can get very crowded on Saturday nights when the live country- western band plays but it's fun and a good time. Dont forget to purchase a Rusty Spur Saloon t-shirt! Love it!

A fun country music dive bar with reasonable drinks, good service and good live music. We have the pork green chile which was quite decent. Definitely a must stop by when visiting Old Town Scottsdale. During the day you have a few tables and chairs .. At night this place gets quite busy and it's standing room only.

Our first stop when we landed in Scottsdale, Arizona was the Rusty Spur Saloon ‼ The Oldest Bar and last Cowboy Saloon With Live Country Music 7 Days + 7 Nights a Week! It's actually a historic building dating back to 1921 when it was a bank! Great cowboy vibes! You place your drinks and food orders at the bar. There are 2 unique bar stools! We stopped by several times throughout our visit- enjoyed the cold drinks and country music! Absolutely love this: Leave a dollar on our wall! Make your mark and leave a signed dollar bill to commemorate your visit to the Rusty Spur. At the end of the year, we clear the walls and donate it all to Phoenix Children's Hospital. Scottsdale's first bar You've probably walked past the swinging doors and peaked in as you strolled through old town Scottsdale. Next time, actually stop in for a drink and stay a while listening to good country music. The Rusty Spur opened in 1951 as Scottsdale's first bar and is registered as an official historical landmark. The building was constructed in 1921 as a bank, and the original vault is still inside and has since been converted into a refrigerator. You'll find live music 7 days a week. Lunch includes burgers, chili, tamales, and more. And of course, you can wet yer whistle in some unique photo worthy seats at the bar.

This was such a VIBE! We had dinner across the street at Beginners Luck and stopped by this cute country bar. They have live music at 8. The bartenders are so kind and the people are all nice! The band was AMAZING! Great vibe and cannot wait to go back!

The song playing when i walked in tells it all "time for a good time"! This place was jumping at 1:30 on a Thursday! So much fun! Drinks at a good price for Scottsdale and the stuff all looked like they were having a blast i love a place that can turn the energy on for the customer, admittedly i walked in a little hung over and i knew i was in for a good time two steps in. Onion rings are amazing do yourself a favor and go ahead and do that :) Secret menu- order the tamale... order a cowboy chili now let them make baby's it's a beautiful thing!

I'm not sure you can stop in Scottsdale and not visit the Rusty Spur. My friend and I had a mini crawl on a Thursday afternoon. We popped into the Rusty Spur around noon and were able to get a table. I opted for a margarita and he had a beer. There are no draft beer options available here. Bartenders were all extremely friendly and engaging. Rusty Spur is not very large, will get packed, but is an obligatory stop in Old Town. I'm glad I stopped in.

Great ambiance for an old school bar. Beers were ice cold. Didn't have any of the food but the girls next to us loved the onion rings. Live music was great!

Amazing local tavern in old town Scottsdale - a must visit! Live music, friendly people, staff and musicians. Shout out to Josh for making our first visit memorable and interactive! We loved this spot, it's like walking back in time and stepping into an old saloon from the Wild West. A must see!

Stopped in for a beer or two, or three or was it 4? and a shot of Basil Hayden ( a good 2 oz pour) with a guy playing solo music which was fantastic! Great spot with many people having a great tune dancing, conversing and bartender was friendly as welcoming!

Too much fun! The fun barstools, the amazing bartenders (amazing singing bartenders), the awesome live music, the excellent service, the awesome folks we met there. This is a really cool "hole in the wall" that ended up being absolutely jam packed on a Thursday night. It was so much fun. We got there early and got seats at the bar. Met awesome folks. Drank, danced, laughed...highly recommend.

This place was small!!! We walked in, there was no where to even order at the bar and definitely no where to sit, so we decided to find somewhere else. There weren't even that many people there (maybe 15-20). It doesn't accommodate too many people, so keep that in mind if you're part of a large group looking to bar crawl.

When in Old Town Scottsdale I recommend stopping in for a break and enjoying a cold drink and live music. They also serve food but I didn't look at a menu. The establishment is quite small but it's lively and the staff is friendly

We love the Rusty Spur- it's the best thing in Old Town and the main reason we go there! Small bar that almost always has live music and is typically packed. Excellent entrainment. We'll be back.

You really didn't visit old town Scottsdale if you didn't go to Rusty spur. This is a MUST stop. There is always good music, good drinks & staff. You will be sure to walk away with a few new friends.

This place is awesome!! We had a great experience here. It IS a saloon. A big part of our great experience was our bartender, Britney. She made our experience what it was. She is a perfect picture of what a bartender should be. Friendly, outgoing, always smiling and she looked like she was having fun with all her customers. We'll be back!

We were visiting Old Town and found this place. It was exactly what we were looking for a little cowboy bar with live entertainment, decent drinks and fun crowd. Seems like a place locals go.

We were here for a bachelorette weekend and this was by far the best place we visited ! Andrew was with us all night & we love him so much. Amazing ambiance and great vibes If you love a good mustachio hit this place up, all the love

I wish I could give this place a 0. I turned 21 on Monday, they denied my ID, called me a fucking cunt, and proceeded to pick a fight with my father soon afterwards. I will include that they attempted to confiscate the license I had just gotten after my 21st birthday. I have never been so disrespected by a bouncer, do not waste your time. While they may be the oldest bar in Scottsdale, they are by far the rudest and most disrespectful.

What a fun Western saloon for a little bit of live music and dancing! Came here on a Monday night and was pleasantly surprised that the place was packed with people (albeit mostly tourists), but was still fun to listen to some live music (mainly Western and pop covers) and do a little dancing. Place gets very packed, so expect that things will get sloppy. Another patron was tipsy and did end up spilling some alcohol on my dress. Overall, a great experience (even for locals like me) and it is an interesting place to take out of towners.

If you see an open chair you know you gotta stop in. This is my mom's favorite bar ever. It's always a hoot. The music is always THE BEST

We visited from Florida and the Rusty Spur was our home away from home. Andrew and Molly were the best bartenders, slangin' and sangin'. We enjoyed the vibe and the crowd. We experienced all of Scottsdale but always ended up at the Rusty Spur. The live bands are awesome too!

Awesome place. Very small but always a great time. Fun bartenders - some sing. Always great live music- fantastic small country bar- reminds me of saloon #10 in South Dakota but a smaller version. People come for the music and to have fun. Drinks are worth the money. Love love love this place

Fun country western dive bar in old town, Scottsdale. Don't expect any frills. Gets crowded on weekends. Many times there's live music.

This was a fun little bar in Old Scottsdale. They regularly have live music and the duet that was playing the night. I was there was excellent. The bartenders and bouncer were also friendly.

This use to be my favorite go to bar. But over the past 3 years, this place started running like a sitcom with no script. I've seen better leadership in a toddler's play kitchen! It's officially a classic in decline.

Rusty Spur Saloon is just one of those bars ya gotta visit when you're in Old Town Scottsdale. It's the oldest bar in Scottsdale as it was once the bank in town. You can still see the resemblance when you visit, if you're able to squeeze your way in on a Saturday night because this bar gets packed! On a Saturday night we visited Rusty Spur Saloon where there was live music playing. No minors allowed, which is how I roll, and a plus was that they did not charge for live music. Even better! The setting was fun, lively and like its roots, a classic, country saloon, so expect those kind of tunes playing here. The space inside is small, so it gets crowded on a Saturday night. This also means it gets hot and sweaty because of how many people are here. But that doesn't stop anyone from dancing and singing along! The bar in the back serves nothing fancy. They have your basic drinks, like bottled beers and well drinks. The floors are sticky; it reminded me of partying at the frat houses in my better days. We had a fun time here. Rusty Spur Saloon is a classic, divey bar with cheap drinks and chill people. It was the only bar, or perhaps, establishment in Old Town that was still open later than 9PM, yet is walking distance to the nightlife district in Scottsdale. It's more my jam than many other bars in Scottsdale.

This is a very popular spot based on the number of locals who recommended it to me. I have heard about the multi-talented owner who is a bartender, chef, and a great singer apparently while he is making drinks sometimes!. It's a classic dive bar. It was packed on a Tuesday night. I was a little skeptical going in because I saw a fight almost break out between a bouncer and a patron who was being guided out. It was fine once we got in. The crowd was a good mix of older and younger folks. Good vibe and yay for the live music. Not a fan of the political statement the owner was making with his hat. It's of course his prerogative and I respect it. I don't see myself going back which is my prerogative.

Rusty Spur is the absolute best country bar in old town. Super chill down to earth vibes with a variety of ages and folks. The staff is super down to earth, Andre is amazing!

Fun ambiance although very small. Live music was enjoyable. Definitely more of a tourist bar. Everyone - especially the men - looked the same.

I know my experience was atypical, but no one should ever have this happen to them anywhere, and my hope is ownership takes this seriously. Regulars have no right to make other paying customers uncomfortable and unsafe, and that's exactly what happened to me earlier this week. A regular at the bar started a conversation with me and when I pointed at a whiskey bottle on the shelf, another regular, who wasn't the bartender but was behind the bar for some reason, immediately got aggressive, posturing and eventually aggressively insisting I leave before "something else happens." So buyer beware here. Seems generally they are a good time for all, but apparently you may encounter an unsavory element here. I do want to say thank you the bartender who was polite and courteous, not to mention busting his butt to take care of all the guests quickly. So here's what went down... I had a lot of fun in the old town area last time I was in PHX, so naturally this was the call on this one. We scanned Yelp and found Rusty Spur, and our group of 10 headed over. The door guy was chill, there was a live musician playing guitar and taking requests, and a lively crowd dancing, drinking and having a good time. I went to the bar and ordered two beers and a nest pour of whiskey for myself and a few colleagues. Bartender hands me the bill and I notice a $2 charge for "AS rocks", so I ask what that's all about and the bartender explained that the owners require him to charge that and watch the security cameras to see if he does, and he's been told he'll be fired if he doesn't put this charge on the bill. He was nice about how he explained it, so I tipped him on top of this surcharge, and went back to my drink and friends. A few minutes later I was standing next to a regular in the back corner of the bar. He asked me about my conversation with the bartender and I explained it and pointed to the bottle of whiskey on the shelf. The conversation moved on to other small talk from there until this other guy with long dark hair decided to start making aggressive moves from behind the bar, pointing at me and asking the other guy what I was doing. I could hear so I explained, but the next thing I know he's telling me to get out, saying if I don't like it here I don't need to stay, and eventually moving closer to me saying go go get out. Idk who this dude was or if he had any authority in the situation but I'm not one for confrontation so I just left. His actions were out of line and cost the business and bartender a bunch of money. It was bad enough knowing customers are charged a BS surcharge when ordering premium spirits. This guy just pushed it over the edge. If the owner reads this, fix the problem.

What a cool little historic spot! First saloon in Scottsdale, definitely had that old southwest vibe going on. We got there at 11:00 when they opened and it was pretty packed. We were still able to get a spot at the bar. There was a band playing, which was cool to hear at that time of day. Lots of stuff around the walls to check out, including dollar bills posted all over the walls. They take the money and donate it to a children's hospital. I thought that was really awesome! The kitchen was super small, so just quick pub food like nachos and things like that. We didn't order any food, but the drinks were good. The biggest highlight were these cute chairs at the bar. Be sure to take a snapshot for your memory books!

Stopped in here with my wife, son and daughter for daughter's birthday celebration day. It's located on Main Street in Old Town Scottsdale. It was just before noon on a Sunday and so we had a quick beer. Very small seating area and a small bar at the far end. The bartender was nice and there were a few regulars at the bar. The walls are adorned with dollar bills that the various patrons have written their names on and small notes. Cool vibe, but claustrophobic to me.

Cool little bar, it's a must see in old town. Staff is friendly, beer is cold. Usually they have some music playing, which was not too bad. They even have a small dance floor if you can strut your stuff.

Was kicked out of the bar by Mark (bartender) with the gentleman next to me sleeping at the bar. I had approximately 4 drinks weight 275lbs and am 62 years of age walking to my hotel and have never been kicked out of a bar in my life. It was after 12 and the bar closes at 12:30 maybe my tips didn't meet expectations? I plan on leaving a daily review until I communicate with management. Thanks

This place was so fun! It's apparently one of the oldest bars in Scottsdale and super popular with the locals. I came here with some colleagues to end a night with a few drinks and there's country music playing here, I believe 7 days a week. The band was in full swing and the place was pretty popping for a Monday night. I don't drink alchy, so just enjoyed a soda water and lime and some great dancing. The crowd was friendly and fun, the bartenders nice and kind; and the music was good. What's not to love? Definitely don't miss this spot for a fun country vibe out.

My go to place when in town to enjoy lively music and the friendliest bartenders! It gets quite crowded so don't bother coming if you're not into that. A genuine western feel and the musicians are great! Andrew the bartender even finds time while making drinks to sing a few songs! Very entertaining! It's always a happy place and the tourists as well as locals all have a great time!

I went to bar for the first time here at the Rusty Spur Saloon the other night and I loved this place. The ambiance was amazing, we got lucky and met a fun group of bachelors. Psychobilly performed and they were awesome! The only issue I experienced was with one of the female bartenders. When we first ordered drinks, the margaritas were tasty and strong. We tipped a good amount. On my second order, I gave the exact amount to the dollar and the bartender made a nasty face. On my third order, the bartender remembered me and put no effort into the drink. She put a third of the amount of alcohol as she did the first two times and didn't even care to shake the mix. I was even tempted to not pay the drinks but I didn't want to cause an unnecessary conflict. I admit I was wrong in not tipping the second time as I learned about the $2 per drink etiquette after the fact but her lack of good service put a damper on the night, especially since we tipped good the first time. I won't leave a bad review just after one bad bartender experience because other than this, the night was pretty fun. I would totally recommend going when Psychobilly is playing! Don't forget to tip the effing band AND bartender!

I was in town the other night and fell in love immediately ! All the workers there were amazing and they all where so nice and welcoming . Also they are all funny! The drinks are good they have a good selection. They are also very clean. I love this place and their live music!

One of the oldest (THE oldest?) bars in Scottsdale, going strong at 70+ years. A country music bar without many seats is not where I would normally spend a few hours on a Saturday evening but I had guests in town. The live music is the draw and some evenings see multiple performers. The singer we saw did a solid cover of a Garth Brooks song. There's nothing special about the drinks list or the prices. What I saw was that many of the customers seemed very giddy. They loved the small space (and it is a SMALL bar) and yet continued to dance and imbibe. Pro tip: order drinks while the singer/band is singing. If you wait for the intermission, the line gets really long. All in all, The Rusty Spur is a nice break from the glitzy side of Scottsdale. The crowd and bartenders are nice enough. This is a must-do (for a few minutes at least) to grab a drink and hear a song before continuing with your evening. A bucket list stop for country music lovers or those wanting a "cowboy" side of their visit.
