Small pizza joint. But they got good drinks and great food. Name another San Jose pizzeria that adds iguanas sauce to one of their pizza styles. Friends and I got a half Cubano half SOB for our first meal and will be coming back again!

Tried The Last Round Tavern for the first time tonight. Ordered online, which was easy, and got a text when the pizza was ready—smooth process, no waiting around. We ordered the Supreme pie. The crust is thin and crispy, which we enjoy. It’s got a nice chew and a good flavor—definitely not your average cardboard base. The sauce has a solid tang, and the cheese is melty and rich without being greasy. Toppings-wise, though... I gotta say, for $38, I expected a bit more. The flavors were there—pepperoni, sausage, peppers, onions, olives—but they were kinda sparse. Each bite didn’t always have the full combo going on. It’s tasty, just not as loaded as I hoped for the price. Also noticed a $3.00 “online platform fee” tacked onto the order. Not sure what that’s about—would’ve been nice to get a heads-up or breakdown on that. If you’re ordering the Supreme, just know it leans more on flavor than heft.

Caleb the owner is a former pro boxer hence the name they have the best meatballs and wings and salad salads and of course their main item is Pizza! The Cubano is to die for, and their brisket is unparalleled. We love this amazing restaurant! Oh, and not to mention, fantastic, mock tails, and cocktails And warm, friendly service

Service was a 5. The gentleman helping us was friendly and informative and attentive but we came here for food and it disappointed big time. We got wings and pizza, pepperoni and Cubano. Wings were really dry and not much flavor, came on Wednesday, half off wings but not even worth that. Pizza was just not worth it. $40 for a large, I think 14in., nope never again. Dough wasnt anything special. Pepperoni, nothing great about it. The Cubano we didn't care for. Not big pulled pork people so maybe that's why but it did taste like pork if that's your thing. Toppings were OK. They drizzle some sauce on top that to me just tasted like mayonnaise. Very small inside. Don't know how this spot has 4.7 rating. Unfortunately would not come here again. For price and what you get, I recommend to go elsewhere

Small place, about 25 table seats and 4 bar seats. 5 beer taps, full bar and a nice menu focusing on pizza. Locally owned, with a light boxing theme (mostly in the pictures on the wall). I only had a beer this visit, but the pizza, meatballs, and wings looked and smelled really good.

My girlfriend has been dying to try this place since she spotted it a few months ago and we decided to come for happy hour one evening. One of the cooks brought out a free meatball for us to try which was really nice. The drinks were good and the food was amazing. Wings and pizza were both a 10/10 and great service too. Come check it out!

What a great option for our Super Bowl party…. Three pizzas and two large orders of wings. We opted for delivery… ordered the day before. It was on time (and wayyy before any touchdowns!) and everyone enjoyed the food, as usual.

Went for superbowl, pizza and beer with friends. Left with no pizza because cashier never put in our order. We were overcharged with items we never asked for and my beverage sat at the bar for over 20 minutes. Nothing was comped and we left hungry and frustrated. Place wasn’t packed and everyone inside had already gotten food in the time we had been there waiting for our order. I order pizza from this spot often, but this was so disappointing. Do better.

Get the cubano - the sauce that tops the Cubano gives it great flavor. - 4.6/5: The Ali Shuffle Mocktail: A really good basil/lime mocktail. Limited parking in the side parking lot. Great place for watching a game.

Walking into this place felt like stepping into the final round of a championship bout--small, scrappy, and ready to deliver a knockout. Right in downtown San Jose near City Hall, this tavern doesn't pull any punches when it comes to pizza. We went toe-to-toe with two heavyweights: SOB South of the Border Taco Pizza: Chorizo, garlic sauce, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, Iguana's orange zilla sauce, and cotija cheese. Every bite landed like a clean combo--spicy jab, creamy hook, cheesy uppercut. YAY, the lettuce was a haymaker outta nowhere! Wrigleyville Pie: Hot giardiniera, sausage, and chopped garlic. A straight power punch of flavor that left us wobbling in the best way. By the end, we were down for the count--in food coma bliss--and already hyped for the rematch. I love everything about this place, the ambiance, fun-sway, and the staff!!

We finally checked out The Last Round Tavern despite living down the street from them for so long. Totally a go-to from now on! Street parking can potentially be difficult since it's located on the corner of Santa Clara and 8th St near SJSU. We visited on the weekends so we haven't had trouble with this at all. There are plenty of tables inside and outside. Service has always been great. Caleb was there both times we went and helped us with a great attitude. The meatball was tender and sauce was rich. The caesar was the perfect salad app. We got the margherita pie with extra sauce and light cheese. The crust was perfectly chewy. Definitely coming back!!

Cashier and server was the same person. He was very friendly and attentive. My bf ordered their pull pork pizza (forgot the correct name) and side order of chicken wings. Everything was fresh and delicious and will definitely come back again.

Edit: reached out to the manager regarding his reply to this review and got no response We got a pickup order of two medium pizzas, the cubano and Arthur Ave. I was excited to try the sourdough crust but unfortunately we weren't that impressed by the pizzas. The pork on the cubano was bland, and the Arthur Ave crust was really limp under the cheese and toppings. I expected more flavor and higher quality especially for the price so it was a little disappointing but okay overall. Maybe it would've been better if we didn't do pickup or if we tried different pizzas.

A word of mouth recommendation, we met up with friends for a round of beers, food & conversations. Menu, though small, offers a variety of items. On this visit, we grabbed the largest SOB, your regular Pepperoni, a crunchy Ceasar Salad, a few meaty Meatballs, and from the bar, a Pitcher of Cold Beer & some pretty red Micheladas! Keeping it G rated, haha, SOB stands for a very tasty South of the Border thin crust with a kick pizza :-) We get it every time! Tavern is quaint for food enjoyment but also broadcasts Boxing, UFC, local sports, etc. and on special viewings has become Lively. Staff is friendly & accomadating 'To Go' is available and parking can be found on the street or side parking lot. Every visit has been enjoyable ! See you soon

The Cubano pizza was excellent. In the back of my mind I wondered if I would miss not having a tomato base, or worse, get tired of eating it part way through. This was the most pizza I've eaten in one sitting (by square inch) because it was was so tasty and the crust being so thin. The edges of the pizza were crispy and the center slices still had structural integrity. We got a couple cocktails, which were pretty solid. I highly recommend giving Last Round Tavern a try. I'm don't think there is any other place like this in the area.

We were on the hunt for a good wing place and I stumbled upon this place and saw it had baked wings, and I will say this place didn't not disappoint. We got four orders of wings and one large pizza to share. The food was delicious and we left no crumbs behind! The service was also amazing super quick and friendly. Definitely will be coming back a great small local place to get a drink and a tasty bite.

Decided to come here on a whim as a conversation about sourdough pizza dough piqued my interest. Arrived at about 6:30 PM on a Friday night and was able to snag the last table for 4. The dining room is small so it may pose a challenge if you have a large party or you arrive at a busy time. It's counter service but I want to call out the host that was working the front was very friendly, helpful, and attentive. We were seated as soon as we stepped in the door and were directed to the menus. They had 2 IPAs on tap and I inquired about them and was given tastes of each. For starters we ordered an al a carte Meatball. It was about the size of a baseball and was juicy with the right amount of sauce. No complaints there, it was really good and it came out quickly. We ordered the Cubano Pie and The Three Piece Pie. These were some of the best pizzas that I've had in a long time! The Cubano had plenty of goodies on it. There was a good contrast of taste with the pepperoncini along with the ham, salami, and pulled pork. The Three Piece pizza was simply delicious. Perfect amounts of ricotta, pesto, and mushrooms. Although it's not the most convenient for me, I'll definitely be back. One thing I should mention is some debris from the air conditioner (fabric from the vent above us) flew down into our table. It didn't land in our food but it makes you think that there could be other particles being circulated in the air. We informed the host and said he would turn off the AC. You could see part of the fabric protruding from the vent above the table (the ones directly in front of the entry doors).

They take pizza to a different direction than we are accustomed. We ate most of the small South of the Border pizza. It's delicious though a bit too spicy so if we're here again we'll ask for a milder flavor. If it had been a bit milder we'd have finished it. The pizza has a thin crust and though we missed it they have some parking spots. It was warm inside so consider the outside covered and uncovered seating.

Very comforting ambiance, even if you're dining alone this place serves you a warm welcome! It is pretty small though so be prepared to come with a smaller party. The food is so delicious. The pizza is crispy, cooked perfectly, and packed with delicious and out of the ordinary flavors. The wings seemed more blackened than fried but they were still so juicy and tender. This place also has the BEST buttermilk ranch I've ever tasted, I wish I brought a container home! The food did take a little while to come out but it's worth the portion and quality you receive. I hope they could expand on a dessert menu one day. I'd also love to take advantage of their happy hour and try one of their drinks next time. Shoutout to the extremely kind service as well!

Once again, my cousin finds these spots on tik tok! She was raving about it so we had to put it on the list. They have tvs inside incase you want to catch some sports games and an outside area in case you want eat with the breeze. Was going to order a supreme but one of the workers insisted we try something else. We got the half Margherita half Cubano and a pitcher of "Lucky" Del Cielo. Pizza was pretty good. Margherita was 8/10 and the cubano was 9/10. Another pitcher of "orale" Mexican lager to set the mood right. If youre ever in this area make sure to stop by and check this place out

I just wanted to come here to share what an amazing experience I had. I first visited when they opened, but I came last week to celebrate a friend's birthday. They don't do reservations, but i gave them a call in advance to let them know we'd have a party of 12 or so. Let me tell you--- the service was impeccable! Our food came quickly, the quality and presentation were good, and the people working were amazing (shout out Caleb)! I wish I caught everyone's names because this experience alone was enough to have me coming back for more-- go last round!!!!

Pizza is really good, I enjoyed it. It's not the absolute best pizza I've ever had and it is definitely more expensive than most pizza places, but I rank it in my top 5 spots I've tried.

Great neighborhood pizzeria with a nice vibe and excellent pizza. Great pizza starts with the dough, and these guys pay much attention to it. Pizzas come out with a light, thin and crispy crust, excellent light sauce and quality cheese rounds things out. Peperoni and sausage are also excellent. Very Nice Ceasar salad easily feeds two. Highly recommended!

This place had been on my list for a while. Tried the meatballs (7/10) the baked wings (9/10) the great white pizza (8/10) and the Cubano pizza (8/10). Overall pretty solid meal if you're eating in they only offer paper plates and you need to grab your own silverware. If I lived closer it would be a to go place all day. I would def visit again the portions were large and the food was solid as long as your expectations are on point you'll have a good time.

The Cubano pizza recommendation by the staff member was amazing. He also recommended the Tamarindo drink - not sure the actual drink name but I loved it as well.

I ran across this place while mindlessly scrolling through DD. I figured I would go out on a limb and try it. We ordered a DIY with pesto, fresh mozzarella, pepperoni and olives and the Cubano. The crust is more like a traditional Italian brick oven type of crust, which we liked. Despite the distance and the rainy weather the food showed up hot (shout out to Maria, our Dasher and yes I increased her tip). The ranch and "pesto" dip definitely left something to be desired. They just weren't very good unfortunately. But the Cubano pizza made up for that. The Cubano is a must try if you like pulled pork. It was loaded with toppings and large pieces of pulled pork, ham, tomatoes, etc. There was a sauce drizzled over the top that I wasn't sure I would like, but it tied all the flavors together really well. The sourdough crust just adds to the deliciousness of the pizza. I was not expecting to like it as much as I did, but it was really good. It was definitely a 5/5. The DIY pizza wasn't quite as good though. We did order toward the end of their open window on DD, so that may be the reason the DIY pizza wasn't that great. It barely had any cheese on it and the toppings were sparse. It was more like a cheesy bread than a pizza. There was one whole section that didn't have any cheese and somehow one tiny pepperoni stuck to it. I'm so glad we did two pizzas because we would have been pretty disappointed by this one. It tasted fine, but it looked like it was haphazardly thrown together. It may be that they just do a better job on their signature pizzas or it may because that we ordered a bit on the late side. But, I won't write them off just based on the DIY pizza because the Cubano is a definite must try. We will definitely be ordering this again.

Our neighbor raves about The Last Round Tavern, and I can now see why. The Last Round Tavern is a neighborhood gem for pizza and bar bites (e.g. wings, sandwiches, salads, etc.)... but mostly pizzas. It's also a great spot to watch games while enjoying a solid selection of rotating taps or craft cocktails. My husband and I stopped by The Last Round Tavern around 7pm on a Sunday night. We were greeted by the friendliest server whose name is Isaac. We told him it was our first time at The Last Round Tavern, and he went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care of. I ordered "The Three Piece," which included homemade pesto, mushroom, and ricotta. I'm a huge fan of thin crust pizza, but I especially appreciated how the crust was crispy all the way through. It wasn't doughy and soggy in the center of the toppings, which tends to be the case for thin crusts. The individual ingredients were flavorful and fresh, and surprisingly this tasted great with hot honey (thanks Isaac for the suggestion). The a-la-carte beef meatball was also insanely good.

I love this place. Best pizza in the state and almost the world I've been a lot of places ok. They're not open on Mondays but ... I'd be there is they were. Why is it so good? How did I today years old just find out about it? Best pizza. I love you.

We tried the Hog & Bird, and the crispy thin sourdough crust was unbelievably delicious. Add onto that chunks of tasty turkey and bacon, and a nice balance of tomato and onion smothered in melted cheese and pesto sauce... wow, the texture and flavors were amazing, the two of us finished a whole medium pie in no time, every last square-cut slice. For drinks, we got the del cielo (from the beer board) and lemon drop, which were good, nothing special about these. The place is small and inviting, with boxing photos/posters decorating the walls. It was also loud, full of chatty visitors on a Sunday evening, so we had to raise our voices a bit to talk to each other, simply adding to the echoing noise. In better weather, I'd opt to sit outside next time. But on this winter Sunday evening, we were fortunate to find seating in the crowded space, the staff cleaning up a table for us when we arrived. And they were friendly and helpful during our entire visit. By the way, the employee informed me that the only pizza sizes on the menu are medium (14 inch) and large (18 inch), but he said they can do personal sized pizzas by request.

Through the Yelp review my son & I decided to check this local tavern. We liked our order, sausage pizza & pepperoni calzone. They are so delicious. The guy, the server was so friendly & attentive. Very cool & classic atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Hidden gem alert. This is what you call family owned treasure. We ran into this place because we were craving pizza and wanted to catch the warriors game. Luckily there were alot of street parking and they even have a small lot in the back. Prices were a bit heavy but honestly I think it's worth it. Everything was baked to perfection. Cheese bread: 5/5 Beef Brisket: 3/5, salty South of the Border Pizza: 5/5, love it. It gives me Taco Bell chalupa vibes. The family duo of father and son runs this treasure and they definitely have found a lifetime local.

After planning for a long time, I finally made the time to get lunch. The sandwiches are on fresh bread, and it's easy to tell from the softness and flavor. So good to have a sandwich that doesn't have a crazy thick roll, the proportions here are as they should be. Yum

Phenomenal place near downtown in East Village. Really great local owner with organic, high quality product. Full bar and great amibance inside with boxing theme. Meatballs and pizza are so good, can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Street parking available.

Pizza is legit Chicago Tavern style. Why do I know? I just traveled to the Windy City and the Last Round tasted really good compared to Pat's in Cho town! Owner is great too!

There are too few places in the SF Bay Area doing tavern-style pizza, that I was aware of, so The Last Round Tavern caught my attention on that alone. We came around 530PM to avoid peak dinner hour, and was surprised to see the tables were either occupied or reserved. Luckily, bar seating was available so there we sat. Agree with others it is loud inside so be prepared for that or sit outside when the weather is decent. Ordered a 14" half Supreme, half Meatball ($1.50 charge for half and half) pizza, Fox Tale Sonic Boom pint (solid rec by the owner) on tap, and a cocktail. Pizza took about 30 min from time of order, which was fine; we chatted, enjoyed our drinks and company. Briefly chatted with one of the owners, Caleb, who was a one-man show running FOH, and doing it well with care and smiles. Crust is made with a sourdough starter and you can taste it, in a good way; flavorful but not overpowering. Toppings were generous and evenly distributed. Roni's had the roni cup curl (must have for me). Undercarriage was nicely browned, crisp texture but not overly. Delicious, well executed pie. Looking forward to trying other variations on their menu. TLDR: Locals spot vibes, friendly and attentive service, great food, solid drinks (happy hour specials 5-7PM). SJ gem you need to check out.

Great vibe, delicious good and amazing staff! We came here on Cinco de Mayo. For as chaotic as the streets were, this place was cool and welcomed us drunkies gracefully. The cheesy bread and pizza were amazing.

Love the pizza, hate the noise. The room is so damn loud that they really need something to absorb the sonic boom here. I noticed it the first time with a full house (which partially helped) and then a second time even worse with only one other table in the place, too. True, that other table kept barking and topping each other while celebrating. The ceiling here bounces every sound here. The music tends to favor Title Fight and other post-post punk. Put it this way: the second time we took ours to go and I doubt we'll be back. This is a shame because the pizza is creative, flavorful and satisfying. There's a solid Chicago influence, at times, with the ingredients ('The Wrigleyville'). Other places and flavors are also represented here ('Pride of Philly'). The first time here I ended up talking afterwards with the owner (co-owner?). Likable guy with a clear passion for what he does. Wished he was there the second time. There's sometimes some interesting beers on tap - though over half of them were out on my second visit. Until they fix the sound, I'd get it to-go in the future or try somewhere else.

Visited this establishment a couple times already. Service is always great, Isaac is attentive and kind. Food is tasty my favorite is the Tear 'N Share with house made sourdough bread. The cubano sauce is tasty! Great place to have a cozy time great music, there are tv's for sports games. Recommend for a chill night out.

Absolute best pizza in town. Thin crust and high quality ingredients. Travelled across town to try them and it was well worth the trip. I would be willing to pay more for it.

Can't believe how good this local joint is! A neighbor recommended the food. We got a calzone and the Cubano pizza. Flavors were superb. The Cubano pizza was such an awesome taste profile with the mustard and hint of sour from the banana peppers. Also of note is the Spicy Lady cocktail - with a homemade michelada mix that was very lime forward and delicious. It's a small corner bar with a sports and local vibe. The bartender, Caleb, was great - friendly and helpful.

Ordered pizza here through Door Dash and I picked it up. Pretty pricey for what I got - $25 for a personal 10" pizza with two toppings. Sorry, I am NOT fan. The tomato sauce was way too tangy, like they added apple cider vinegar to the sauce! The toppings were measly - most of the pizza was just sauce and crust, like they ran out of toppings. I am giving 2 stars because at least the crust was good. Will not be coming here again.

Still five stars. They have the best Italian food and the service is amazing. They have a great selection of beer even though we didn't drink any this time there's a reason this place has been here forever and it's still going. We're not coming for lunch having some fresh bread takes a little time for the pizza oven to get hot so if you come early, it's better for sandwiches but they will crank it up for you if you want.

A friend of ours was raging about this little pizza place he found in San Jose. So of course we had to check it out. The restaurant is on the smaller side but if you get there early, you should be able to get a table. They have a bar and TV's for those sports enthusiasts. The owner, and staff are very friendly and helpful. More importantly, the pizza was delicious! I love the thin crust. You can order what's on the menu or create your own pizza. We will definitely be back

Had to go back and update my review with a picture because I visited again and it was as delicious as the first time! They had a busy Friday night but they politely alerted us how long the pizza would take. We didn't mind because they have great local beers on tap. The staff continued to check on us and let us know our pizzas were on their way. It's located on a corner on Santa Clara St. There is usually plenty of street parking. They have a limited amount of indoor seating but they do have bar seating available and a few outside tables. I managed to find a table indoor both times I visited so seating doesn't seem to really be an issue. It's a great spot to hang out with friends and family. The ambiance is cozy and inviting. Pizza! So their pizza dough is my favorite! Thin and crispy but a soft and fluffy crust. Everyone raved about the crust being their favorite part lol! Plus they have tapatio so that was a level up. Overall, their pizzas are super balanced with flavor. Quality pizza sauce and cheese. This is pizza that I could probably eat every single day. Once we were done eating, the owner stopped by and thanked us for waiting, which we thought was so polite. Highly recommend The Last Round Tavern!!!

If you're into sourdough, this pizza place is a must-visit! I tried the three-piece, and it was absolutely delicious. I love that they use organic flour. The service was fast and friendly as well.

Want to talk about the Best spots in SJ for great eats and great vibes, this place has both. We orders the meatballs and I'm sorry I ate them too quickly I couldn't get a picture but they were delightful. Great beers on tap and look at this beautiful salad below (are you kidding me). Dont walk, RUN here fast! Not to mentioned the owner is one of the kindest and hardest workers we have ever seen. The whole staff is a 10/10. This will be our spot moving forward.

Friendly, delicious pizza, crispy thin crust, some outdoor seating. First time here, we got the Hog and Bird. I think about this pizza often, it's so tasty! Quiet on a random late Saturday night. Second time, we decided to get half Cubano and half SOB. Cubano had wonderfully rich flavors, with a bit of green and mustard to cut through the richness. SOB was like a delicious taco pizza. I was very amused by the MMA match being played with Castaway. Definitely noisier this time, but the vibes were fun. It's a small place, so takeout is probably easier on busy nights. That said, you can't beat fresh in-house. Between me and my boyfriend, we ate everything and left no crumbs.

Everything here is phenomenal! Yes, it's a little on the pricier side, but it's sooo worth it! The customer service is phenomenal, you can tell they really and actually care about both their customers, and product, and it shows! The pizza itself, is delicious! The crust is delicious crispy sourdough, and the toppings are fresh and high quality. The wings are plump and well cooked! We usually do take out, and the food is always well packed and tastes incredible. The Last Round Tavern is definitely in my top 3 for pizza joints in San Jose, if not, the bay area. PS, they're sandwiches are also bomb! I wished I worked near here so I could him for lunch

Very interesting flavors! Fresh and homemade tasting pizza. They don't skimp on toppings. The pizza crust was really thin so If you don't enjoy that, keep it in mind. Cocktails are nice and also, customizable. Staff is friendly! Since everything is made to order it takes some time to get food out, but it comes out fresh. Ambiance is like a sports bar with cute decor showcasing sports and boxing themes. Looks like this place is frequented by many regulars!

Review is only for the pizza. I thought the crust was really nice. Had a good crunch and texture. The pizza sauce was pretty meh wasnt able to really taste any. Toppings were fresh but i didnt like the sausage at all. It was very floral tasting and overpowered the pizza. Next time I will just go with a margherita pie to get a better feel.
