Handmade pastas and Sicilian-inspired dishes in a cozy spot

"La Medusa is a terrific Columbia City date spot. It’s a dimly-lit, romantic Italian restaurant that specializes in Sicilian dishes like fried risotto balls, garlicky kale and raisins sauteed in olive oil with anchovy, and a bunch of handmade pastas that rotate often. One of the best we’ve had was mezzi rigatoni with lamb sausage in a parmesan broth, but you also can’t go wrong with their spaghetti marinara and a meatball (which is always on the menu)." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley
"Diners come to this small Columbia City restaurant for its well-crafted pasta dishes with Pacific Northwest ingredients, which shift regularly based on seasonal availability. A recent menu included campanelle with kale pesto, mafaldine with pork coppa, and casarecce with braised rabbit ragu. Head next door to the mini market, Persephone, where you can sip amaro at a bar or buy local vegetables." - Eater Staff

"La Medusa in Columbia City has hosted the Three Sacks Full pop-up, where seasonal, locally sourced dishes such as asparagus, lamb and pork crepinettes, and shiitake mushroom and turnip ragout have been served and a portion of proceeds donated to groups like Columbia Legal Services." - Gabe Guarente
