Local is a fantastic neighborhood spot and exactly the kind of place you want when you’re looking to grab a drink without a lot of noise or pretense. The vibe is low-key and relaxed, and it fits perfectly into the surrounding neighborhood. The drinks were great! They serve wine and local beer. While the bar menu is limited, it is clearly thought through rather than just filler options. It’s one of those places where quality matters more than quantity, and it shows. We had the grilled cheese and the bratwurst. I did have an isolated incident during one visit, but what really stood out was how quickly and professionally management responded. They took the situation seriously and made sure it was handled, which says a lot about how the place is run. Overall, it’s a great spot to unwind and enjoy a well-made drink.

Local is the kind of bar that proves how diverse and amazing New York City's nightlife is. A friend of mine and I had just had a wonderful dinner and were looking for a bar where we could have a few beers and hear each other talk...on a Saturday night in SOHO. And while yes, there were bars packed to the brim in ever direction, there was also this beautiful non-assuming chill little spot called Local, nestled quietly on a quiet part of Sullivan street, that despite it being 11 on a Saturday, had seats available, incredible beers and wines on tap, and a friendly bartender who cooked us up a free bowl of popcorn the second we walked in. We sat there for hours, talking, and just passing time in a spot where everyone felt genuinely warm, kind, and, well, local.

Super cool little bar that, as follows the name, is full of locals. Beer selection is a bit heavy on the IPAs for my taste but they still had good alternative options and thats what sells so I cant complain. Good for them. Would happily go back.

A narrow beer and wine bar in SoHo that lives up to its name. Great spot to grab a few casual drinks. It can get busy, and it’s pretty small, but it’s worth it. A refreshing break from the mainstream bar scene in NYC. Much appreciated is the eclectic selection of beer on tap. Highly recommended.

Tucked away in a cozy corner, it's small but smartly designed, with just the right touch of outdoor seating to soak up the city vibes. The draft beer selection is top-notch, and they've got some decent wine options too if that's your thing. Oh, and did I mention the free popcorn? Spicy and freshly popped, it's the perfect munch to complement your drink. Service here is on point - they let me sample a few beers before I made my choice. Ended up with a sour IPA from a Hudson Valley brewery, which was just the ticket for a sunny spring day in the city. Cheers to that!

Local is a great little spot! The people you meet there are really an interesting experience. There's free popcorn! Love that. They are a beer and wine only place, so keep that in mind when choosing a place!

Great beer options and service! Always having fresh/free popcorn and good smoked oysters in can available to eat. Truly recommended, easy go!

Solid neighborhood joint for beer and snacks. About a dozen beers on tap that rotate, and I always find an option I like! We recently got a few bites here as well (sardines, hot pretzel, bratwurst) which were all very good for the price. Cute interior with some small tables in the back and about 7-10 seats at the bar. The outdoor seating area doubles the overall capacity- it's a small space but feels very homey! Bartenders are nice too. Another big plus - free popcorn!

Small bar with indoor and outdoor seating and a great selection of not commonly found high quality craft beers. There's a small bar food menu and free popcorn. I enjoyed my Hill Farmstead Susan IPA.

Good beer bar with (as the name would suggest) a pretty local (think Northeast US) selection of beers. My only knock is I don't think there's anything you can get for less than $9 which is kind of a high starting point. But some of what you're paying for is date night ambiance for a beer bar in a nice area (plus free truffle popcorn).

The place was empty. The selection of drinks was extremely limited. Then they were out of a bunch of the drinks they listed. The taps weren't working. Their outside section consisted of stools and small tables. The prices were a bit much considering the place. They did give us free popcorn. I wouldn't come back.

wow I can't believe i just stumbled upon this place! had an hour to kill before a meeting and saw this cozy charming bar. A really well curated tap list with some well known and some lesser-known options (lots of grimm and other half but also port city and others). Craig the bartender was really friendly and helped me pick beers by letting me try a few things. He also makes a killer goat cheese and dog plate which was a perfect little snack to hold me over before a dinner meeting. I also liked that they offer a smaller size and a larger size for the beers...gives you an option to try more I love that they give free popcorn! I will for sure be back, would be great for a little happy hour or even a good place to stop with a book

Cool unassuming bar with some bar seating and tables towards the back. Friday evening and only a few people inside, so easily got a seat and ordered. Drink menu is clearly displayed behind the bar. Nice craft options as well as several wines on tap. Order an Imperial IPA ($12) to start off - way pricier than most other craft beer bars, but at least it comes with some free popcorn. Beer is solid and the popcorn is a nice compliment. Got a Pilsener ($10) to finish off the night while enjoying the laid back atmosphere. Bartender knows her stuff and the place is great for a quiet Friday night. Prices are definitely on the higher end though, so don't think I'd stop by all too often.

Came across this on the web when looking for some small craft beer spots in Soho. Ended up coming by with a few friends on a Tuesday and we got seats at the bar. It's pretty small so I can imagine on weekends it's packed. They sell mainly craft beer and some wines. A bit overpriced (TBH) but what isn't in NYC. I got their sour beer and their oktoberfest. The sour beer was A+. The oktoberfest on tap was so so. They serve popcorn with the beer which is a quite touch. When the sun goes down, they light candles and I can imagine it's a good first date spot as well.

I stumbled upon Local as I was walking through Greenwich Village trying to kill some time before meeting my friends for dinner. The interior is very clean and there is a wide variety of draft beers offered. The price is decent, the beer is good, the bartender is friendly, and you get a complimentary bowl of popcorn with your beer (my fave part). The space is small and there is not much space to sit, but if you just want to chill with a glass of beer by yourself or with a friend, Local is def a good spot. I tried #6 on the menu and it was light and not too hoppy. Apparently #5 is the popular one on the menu. I'll try that one next time.

I've always been a big fan of Local. From its prior incarnation as a coffee shop to its current beer/wine bar. But one request: please open in the morning as a coffee spot! With Once Upon a Tart closed, the neighborhood needs a good place to drink coffee, read the paper, and chill out!

Love finding an unpretentious, intimate, and chill neighborhood bar with friendly staff. They serve beer and wine on tap. The rose was very lovely. I can rose' all day! Bartender was really sweet and served us popcorn throughout our stay. Great place to chat and drink with friends.

Probably one of the last remaining hole-in-the-wall bars in SoHo since the invasion of the larger chains and big boxes moved in, over the past 15-20 years. These types of bars (at one point) and tiny boutiques gave SoHo its character. Frequent them so they don't disappear altogether. Friendly bartender.

I had some amazing beer here and sadly I can't remember what it's called so I guess I have to come back and find out. Very small bar but cute, casual and perfect to bring a date or a friend or two. Not too great for groups in the front cause it's a tight space but they do have a back nook with three small tables and more seating. The bartender was also fantastic. He was friendly, knowledgeable and when they ran out of the first delicious beer I had been drinking he offered to go double check in their basement that they were really reallllyyyy out before recommending yet another delicious beer. A bit on the pricier side (one of my beers was $11) but worth a treat-yo-self drink. (They do have free popcorn but it was the most bland popcorn I've ever had. Thank you for providing it but it really adds nothing to the experience.)

What an amazing place! Great selection of craft beers on tap (on occasion they even have the Maine Diner!) as well as several in a can and 4 wines on tap. Small sampling of food available too such as a cheese plate or a Chicago style hot dog. Friendly bartenders and good music all make for a warm experience in what feels a bit like Cheers in SoHo. True to it's name, many of the patrons are, in fact, locals who live within a few blocks.

Small intimate place bartend that served us that day was very informative. Is started to get packed and he was able to manage everyone's order in a timely fashion and made sure everyone was filled up on popcorn. The week that I went the had mostly IPA about 3 stouts and 1 or 2 pilsners and sassion. They also have wine on TAP. They seem to have a rotating tap selection. Would definitely want to see some chocolate stouts on the menu

Retweet on the suggestion below. The hood needs a Local coffee shop! Local we love your evening vibes. Serve coffee in the morning and your patrons can hang all day long.

Solid, intimate beer bar with a nice staff. Free popcorn was a nice touch, but a little salty for my taste. I thought the beer selection was very IPA/Pale ale heavy which is why I'm subtracting a star. With a better beer list it'd be 5/5

Appropriately named beer and wine bar with a nice tap list and a great local feel. Would love it if they had mor comfortable seating, but regardless, enjoyed the hour spent here.

The place is small, but cozy. It has a super chill vibe and there's free unlimited popcorn. There were 12 beers on tap but 5 of them were kicked and they had no replacements for the ones that ran out on a Friday night. This left the selection to 1 IPA which was disappointing. Had they had their full selection, we would have given it a 4.5/5.0

Just happened upon this quaint little beer and wine bar in the village, and was pleasantly surprised. Always nice to be served by an owner/ bartender who really knows his beer and wine and is friendly to boot! We'll be back!

My wife and I decided to stop by for a drink before dinner. What was supposed to be a brief stop, turned into a 2 hour visit where we had some fantastic beer and wine. Everything is on tap so we were able to try things to see what we liked. We absolutely loved the bartender. The fresh popped popcorn was a nice touch too! Definitely will be back soon!

This is my new favorite bar to hit after brunch on weekends. It's airy and well lit, has a couple of great wines and perhaps the best rotating beer selection in the city. Does an amazing job of walking the line between a good bar and a light and lively place to hang out during the day. That said, it's also great at night. Overall, good food, great beer, and fantastic bar tenders!

LOVE LOCAL! Favorite place in all of Soho/Village. Friendly people, interesting conversation and delicious drinks -- beer, cider + wine on tap! Craig and Liz (owners) are true NYC gems.
