The 16 Hottest New Restaurants in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

"There was maybe nothing wrong with Cafe Centraal as it stood, but when the local favorite turned 10 years old last year, the Lowlands Group decided it was time for a physical and spiritual upgrade. There’s been a tangible refocusing since the overhaul, and not just because you walk in a different front door. There are now weekday brunches and a more global bent — kebabs sit next to mole on the menu, chili next to hot-and-sour soup. It’s all part of a fresh personality (bloodies on tap) that continues to nod to its namesake station in Amsterdam with 40 rotating biers." - Todd Lazarski

Enjoyed an amazing Easter brunch in the beautiful courtyard. Food outstanding. Atmosphere cozy and comfortable. Service top notch. Highly recommend stopping here for a drink or meal. Everyone’s food was fantastic! Loved my greens and grains scramble. Rose mimosas… yes! Boozy coffees were the after brunch drink I never knew I needed. Appetizer donuts slightly overcooked but still delicious.

Google
Very nice place with a good menu. Nice brunch or lunch options. I love corned beef hash and fruit anytime it is on the menu. They didn't have it but had a pulled beef hash with peppers and onion topped with eggs and it was very good with a nice kick. I will return when I am in town. Everyone else enjoyed their food too

Google
We stopped in for lunch, and the service was fast, and the food was on the spot; as for the beer selection, well, if you have a hard time choosing something, you will be here awhile since their beer menu is rather extensive but sometimes just randomly picking something might be magic in a bottle, either way, it’s a fun place to gather with friends

A very nice restaurant/ pub. I got the beef sobe bowl. the mix of flavors was good. the around the beer flight was also pleasant. I’d definitely would come back.

Google
I came here for an event but stayed to order some food off their menu. I ordered the fries and picked two of the side sauces (garlic aioli & chili garlic mayo), we also got the chicken kebab which was delicious. Since we had fries already with our meal, we got the kettle chips as the side. Last we got the banh mi sliders which I didn’t get to try but everyone said they were delicious. I’ll be back!

Wow, Awesome in every way!!!! Such a cool fun atmosphere with wonderful outdoor seating. Excellent service & truly delicious food!!! We were greeted by the smiling face of Nolan, our server who was extremely warm, friendly & a very patient and attentive server. We ordered lemon drop martinis and they were devine!!! I have food allergies so I requested to please talk with the manager. The manager, Bug, came right to our table and listened intently to my food request and assured me that they would be sure my meal was safe for me to eat, then soon after, brought out to me a beautiful piece of grilled salmon and a fresh green salad that was all perfection. My friends ordered the spicy chicken sandwich, and the burger with sweet potato fries and basil dipping sauce and said it was absolutely wonderful!!! We ladies give this restaurant and it’s excellent staff 5+stars!!! It’s the total package for a memorable dining experience <3

Google
There are great options to eat in or out! Coffee with happiness, food are always on point. I feel like inside a train station before my departure... staff is attentive and friendly. I'll be back again any chance I get. Poached eggs with salmon are amazing. May 2024 A group of 8 very hungry ladies, we're looking to have dinner around 9:30pm. The food was great and the service was very friendly and fast. It is truly one of my favorite spots in town.

Google
My niece had her wedding and reception here. It was really nice. The food was delicious and the service was terrific. So accommodating and pleasant. They had a special tequila cocktail that was really good and ready made at the outdoor bar. Had a blast.

Yelp
I stumbled across this place while my husband was working nearby. This was a REAL treat!! I would 10000% go back! I made it juuuuuuust in time for brunch so I got to order a BELT + A sandwich (bacon, eggs, tomato, lettuce and avocado). It was OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! Honestly, so so good! The basil aioli def added flavor for me too! I also got curds which were so tasty too. I tried two of their Bloody Mary's: the Centraal & The Milwaukeean. Both were great but my favorite was the latter. Nobody does Bloody Mary's better than Milwaukee! The servers were so nice and attentive! They even rushed to get my brunch order in before the system switched over! I also really loved the vibe indoors and outdoors. It was pub like but also very cute simultaneously. I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Hot spot on a Saturday morning. We were seated quickly. Food arrived quickly and hot. The presentation was nice. Donut holes were a bit hard, not the worst. The trend seems spicy. Not everyone likes that. I didnt mind. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Would I return, I might.

Yelp
Everything on the breakfast menu seems to have a kick. A bit spicy. We asked a gentleman at Meijer for a recommendation and he suggested Centraal Grand and he stated not to skip on the donut holes. This place is hopping with am inviting feel. Our server Joey was knowledgeable and suggested many great options from the menu. We decided on the donut holes to start. Then my son ordered Hashbrown Fries and a Peppermint Mocha no alcohol (still paid full price). I ordered a the Birria Chilaquiles with a Zero Proof Carmalized Pineapple Margarita and placed an order of Cinnamon Streusel French Toast to go. The to-go order did not have plastic ware, but I asked for some to use with my meal I was taking with me. The eggs still run a little clear and the dish was a bit spicy. I feel as if there was a bit more avocado sauce and sour cream that may have helped. Maybe add just a bit on the side as well as on top. Either way, the flavor was amazing. The donuts, the flavor was there but they seemed over cooked. Really tough on the outside and undercooked on the inside. They also offer gear if you wish to order. There were no signs on the door as for hours and I didn't notice any specials.

Yelp
Had a group with me from out of town, two of them from Portland, and they were hungry. As we passed Centraal, they chose to eat there against my better wishes. I don't like chain restaurants or bars. Centraal proved to be as corporate as I imagined. While it wasn't terrible, there were too many food choices on the menu, meaning nothing is home made, and service was perfunctory. The bill was overpriced, and this place said nothing about my hood, Bay View, Milwaukee's best. The company that puts out places like Centraal caters to the Milwaukee demographic, producing nothing new but a concept that earns profit, their only goal. They meet the needs of the uninspired.

Yelp
An Amsterdam themed cafe was an obvious lunch choice for my wannabe Dutch Hubby and I! The cafe had a nice old school train station vibe to it. The "Arrivals and Departures" beer board was a nice touch. I opted for the Doner Kebab which is usually drunk late night food in Europe. It was too fancy and delicious to be eaten without having all your wits about you. The cheese and sauce married for a perfect oozy bite. I tried the mushroom soup as my side and thought it was delightfully creamy and was mushroomy through and through. Hubby's grilled chicken sandwich was quite substantial and tasted great. It's a perfect place for lunch, so gather the colleagues!

Yelp
We went on a Friday night and the place wasn't all that busy. We did make a reservation just to be safe but I don't think it was needed as there were a lot of empty tables. The drinks were wonderful I would definitely get the sangria again! The cheese curds with chipotle ranch were homemade and a Wisconsin staple. The Mac and cheese was good but you could find better Mac and cheese elsewhere. But overall good for a place that doesn't specialize in pasta. My husband said the burger was great but a little over cooked than what he requested. The restaurant was very clean and has great vibes.

Yelp
My sister and I decided to stop here. She has been here several times in the past I've been here a few times myself. And they never ever disappoint. I had the most delicious. I think it was called the Milwaukee burger? Might've even been called Bayview Burger... regardless it was delicious in it two big huge chunks of bacon and my choice of pepper jack cheese on a delicious sirloin burger cooked perfection with french fries delicious. My sister also had a beer sampler a few good choices of beer. Our waitress and our service was always top-notch. And the ambience is cool laid-back.

Yelp
Made a reservation for brunch on 4th of July, thinking it would be crazy, so of course the entire patio was completely empty and the reservation wasn't necessary at all. But the back patio is so cute!! The lemon curd with the donut holes was AMAZING. I would order them again just for the curd. My boyf and I both liked our meals but agreed they were almost too flavorful and heavy for 11AM. However, I think brunch at Centraal is a great alternative to driving in circles around the Third Ward to find parking and waiting 30+ min for a table when you could just have a whole patio to yourself in Bayview.

Yelp
Wow, it's been ten years since I first reviewed this place and I've been back many times. I love how large this place is. We often go for breakfast and are there between 8am-9am, never have to wait for a table. The food is good and even better, reasonably priced. The service, not so great. On repeated trips, we waited almost ten minutes to be acknowledged, received drinks that were ordered right away so late I forgot they had been ordered. The food typically comes out fast though more often than not, no one checks in on you. Paying the bill always seems to take longer than it should. So four stars you say? Yes, I like the food, the price and the restaurant vibes. The tables and chairs are comfortable and we love that they open relatively early compared to most other restaurants in Bay View.

Yelp
I love this place in Bayview, they have a great outdoor garden to sit in, and they make your food quick to order. I ordered for takeout so I could go fishing with my partner and the food was delicious on the boat. Within 20 minutes of ordering my food was ready to go as soon as I got there. I recommend trying some of their signature sauces and aïoli, I love the pesto aïoli it's the best fries.

Yelp
We had such a great experience at Centraal! It's a better version of Cafe Benelux/hollander. This will definitely be in our rotation of restaurants. Everyone was super friendly which stood out for me. We split chicken birria tacos and this was the perfect amount for us. The tacos were so delicious that we didn't talk through the whole meal they were so good! There is a massive drink list and endless options. Very chill inside and music isn't overwhelmingly loud. We were also here for a Yelp event which was fun!

Yelp
First time here. Really busy. Seems like the place that you want to hang out for a while with good friends or companies. We got seated right away and service was pretty quick even though they were busy we did not have to wait for our server to come to our table and take our order and make sure that we were taking care of. The food was really good and exactly as describe on the menu. So the pictures do a very well description of what you will be getting on your plate. I will definitely come back I could've stayed longer because that must be. It was so good, inviting and welcoming that it's one of those places that you want to stay for a while the only way to find out is if you come to experience yourself.

Yelp
Centraal Cafe is a casual place for a nice meal. I've always walked in without a reservation and was seated within 10 minutes. The server is always very attentive and the food tastes great! I love the burgers here, but the donut holes weren't as good/flavorful as they look. I would skip the donuts and get the cheesecake instead if you're looking for a dessert.

Yelp
Love going to Cafe Centraal for their amazing tap selection and craft cocktails! Can't go wrong with their Carolina fried chicken sandwich or the mushroom caprese; both so delicious!

Yelp
Wow did David and I enjoy our meal at Centraal!! I had the ultimate girl lunch which included the Centraal salad and a side of fries. I will be dreaming about this meal for awhile... If you take anything from this review please let it be this, get the dipping sauces!!! These made the fries un-freaking-believable!! I personally got the garlic aioli and chili garlic mayo. 11/10 recommend. I'm slowly making David a sauce guy My salad was so light and refreshing. I loved the lemon dressing as it paired perfectly with the apples, almonds and cheese. I also had a bite of David's chicken sandwich and it was fantastic. Very saucy, heavy on the pickles and had tons of flavor. Definitely check this place out if you're in the area looking for some solid food!

Yelp
This was the restaurant of the week check in so I stopped by Sunday morning for breakfast and parking was fine at 8:30 am before Bayview got up or the rest of the Milwaukee area. The place is on a diagonal weird intersection in a nice building. As I walked in I thought that this place is really nice with great big booths and a stellar bar. On the weekends, sat/sun they have a $22 bottomless Bloody Mary with a 2 hour window which is great if you don't drive like me so I didn't have it but it's available. Service was excellent from start to finish but it was fairly empty after just opening. I ordered the Americana which is 2 eggs, rosemary potatoes, protein of your choice and multi grain toast. I ordered the Americana breakfast with sausage links. The sausage links were plump and juicy/tender but bland with little flavor. The sunny side up eggs were perfect. The multi grain toast was hearty, one slice with a burnt flavor and not very good as a toast sandwich because of the hardness and burnt flavor over powering my favorite of making a toast sandwich. The rosemary potatoes were pathetic because they were room temperature, not fresh cooked soggy like cooked in old oil. They were noticeably not cooked to order because the fresh cooked cubed potatoes with that soft inside and crispy outside always is noticeably and so good. Nothing was seasoned and I felt the whole breakfast was bland and not flavorful compared to my next stop for a spicy Bloody Mary which was full of flavors and made my mouth hot and my nose run, not bland confirming my senses still work. It's a very nice place with diner food I thought but the price point was diner food so no harm no foul.

Yelp
We had brunch at Centraal Grand Cafe on a Sunday - late morning. We didn't have a reservation, but we were seated at a table with no wait. There were five of us, four adults and a teen. We sat in the back of the restaurant - it was lovely... quiet. The food was amazing! Everyone ordered something different and every one of us was happy with our brunch decision. We started with the salmon toast, yum! My husband had the cheesy gooey spicy mess, it was very tasty. I tip-toed out of the box; I almost always order eggs Benedict when we go out for breakfast, instead, I ordered the crispy avocado Benedict... it was fantastic. Service was great, food was great, location was great!

Yelp
Hadn't excellent dinner here with great service. Always love the frites so I ordered that as an app with the jalapeño creme and chili garlic mayo. Unfortunately, they were a little cool so I just had a few and saved the rest for another time. Not much to the jalapeño creme but the chili garlic mayo was good. I tried the cauliflower tikka masala for my entree. Plenty of different textures and good flavor without being overwhelming. The pita was a little dryand tough but the dish itself was good. Had plenty to take home. The tofu got a little mushy but wasn't bad on reheat. Had a little mixup with getting a coupon applied but my server was quick to get it sorted. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area. Free parking down the street from the restaurant, too.

Yelp
We decided to an overnight trip in Milwaukee, and the first thing we wanted to experience was a delicious and boozy Milwaukee brunch. After much research, we stumbled on Centraal, which seemed to not only have a promising menu but a potentially cool vibe. Unfortunately, things didn't unfold the way I would have hoped. When we walked in, the hostess told us she would be right with us to put our name in for a table. I guess in that time, someone received a text for a table. They stood behind us in line. However, when another hostess came back, before we could add our names, the lady behind us essentially 'cut' in front of us to get seated. I had to quickly tell the hostess that when she was back, we wanted to put our names in. She was unapologetic, but did add our name to the list when back. We ended up sitting at the bar because some seats opened up. Unfortunately, the service was super slow and the bartenders hardly checked on us for additional drinks or the tab. It took several attempts to finally flag them down for our check. The food was just as mediocre as the service. My husband got the cheesy beef and hashbrown potatoes and I got the chicken and biscuit with chorizo gravy. His meat looked a bit sad and boiled, but at least it was tender. It was unfortunately flavorless. The chicken and biscuit was better than his dish but still lacking. The jalapeño and cheddar biscuit didn't taste of either. The egg was overcooked, and the chorizo gravy had little to no flavor. At least the chicken was good. The highlight of the visit was the drink selections. We enjoyed our Bloody Marys (and they had a good selection of different variations). They also had a delicious version of an espresso martini with a caramel-infused vodka. Overall, I likely would consider finding another brunch if only in Milwaukee for a short time.

Yelp
Still a solid spot for food and drinks. Service can be a bit hit or miss if you need a refill, etc. I really like hanging out here with friends. It's comfortable and a great location on KK.
google avatar

Yelp
Food was very good and service was good. I have an issue with their coffee. Coffee is the first thing customers have once they enter the restaurant. Why would they serve sub-standard coffee? I realized afterwards why customers show up with large coffees in hand.
google avatar

Yelp
This restaurant quickly became one of my favorite spots in Milwaukee! I have been numerous times, and this past weekend I realized I needed to leave a review for how great it is. Huge shoutout to the wait staff who are always extremely kind and cool, they were very willing to answer my friend's questions about the Gluten Free menu and were accommodating to all of her needs! I am a big fan of the Brie Turkey Ciabatta, but this time around I tried the Grilled Chicken Avocado which was just as delicious. I really think it's hard to go wrong here!

Yelp

Yelp
I've been to Centraal a few times now and it is a really great option for food and drinks. I want to preface that I actually think their food is GREAT and the beer flights they offer are super fun and you get a good amount of beer for what you pay for. The reason for my rating is purely based on service. I would say that of all the times I had been previously the service was so-so, nothing great but nothing bad. However, the last time I went it was definitely leas then ideal. It was mainly young people running the restaurant and they were super disorganized and had no clue what was going on. I had to remind them multiple times that we were waiting for a table. Then, one of the hostesses would come and get us for a table then tell us it wasn't actually ready. Mind you, there were at least 4 other tables open in the restaurant that were not reserved. When we did get seated, we got put on the back patio area that they turned into a heated tent situation. My in-laws didn't love the atmosphere compared to the actual inside of the restaurant so we asked to be moved. It seemed like a major inconvenience to all of the staff and to top it all off- we were each carrying our beer flights (see the big wood board pictured) across the restaurant multiple times. Also several of our drink orders were wrong. My fiancé ordered the Lowlands flight which does not have any ciders on it (he is a hardcore beer enthusiast) and the bartender handed him the flight and mentioned one was a cider. We were both so confused but couldn't seem to track someone down to ask why so he just dealt with it. Overall would recommend for a quick bite or drink but the staff needs to be seriously trained or at least caught up to speed on the operations of the place.

Yelp
We were seated immediately outdoor. The cabana was cutely decorated. We were served waters immediately. Our waitress, Jo, was extremely friendly and helpful. The sweet potato fries were amazing. Everyone rated their meals a 4/5. Service a 5/5. I would go again. Great drinks.

Yelp
super yummy! the serving sizes were great for getting your morning kicked off. loved the way this place is inclusive of all dietary needs! our server was incredibly knowledgeable of the menu, and gave us great insight on the dishes as we were choosing. ambiance was really vintage and cool, giving us a good look at historical train station culture as well as industrial milwaukee aesthetics. well done, will come back to enjoy again :)
google avatar

Yelp
My friends and I came to this restaurant for brunch over the weekend! We were seated in the tent out back, which is surprisingly so warm. They do a good job of heating it so you feel like you're outside but don't feel the outside elements. I ordered the chilaquiles. I thought the flavors and spices were pretty good! I wouldn't say it wowed me, but I enjoyed it. My friend ordered a breakfast sandwich, which was much smaller than expected unfortunately. Besides that, we enjoyed our food!

Yelp
I've been here for brunch and lunch. I had my baby shower here and everything was amazing! Got the private room on the side and it was just perfect. Such a cute place and the brunch was great. That being said, the brunch trumped the lunch. I don't love brunch but this is truly a great brunch spot and I would brunch here again! The service was good but it didn't feel like a spot for kids. Could just be in my head but I remember them being there and it not feeling comfortable.

Yelp
We met family for my husbands birthday. The service was great. It was a fun atmosphere to get together with family. The drinks were good. Everyone enjoyed their food. The salmon club and the sirloin soba bowl were enjoyed by myself and my husband. The doner kebab was the talk of the night and where it originated from. We also had an appetizer that was delicious and I would definitely order again, the bacon jalapeños dip with kettle chips. Yummy!! We have always enjoyed our food and will definitely be back.
google avatar

Yelp
This place has all the vibes with large windows and comfortable seating. Was seated right away! We came during shift turnover and waited quite some time for the 2 waitresses for pass us along, we didn't even get to order a drink. I wanted to love my dish but it would have been so much better with rice, bc the quinoa just seemed mushy with the masala. The beer flight was good, again it just took longer than ideal for a drink to arrive to the table, almost 15 minutes from when we were seated.
google avatar

Tim B.

Yelp
This place is fantastic. Wish we could have went a 2nd time, but we were only in town a few days. My wife took all the food pictures, but I can say everything was excellent. We had brunch items, coffee, chai tea and a mimosa. All of it was amazing. Amy was our server. She's incredibly sweet, helpful and attentive. There's no way you could be disappointed. The feel of the place is great too. Very comfortable and inviting. I don't give 5 Stars to everyone - these guys deserved it.
google avatar

Anna M.

Yelp
Our family was in town and we were planning a boat tour of the city but sadly we were rained out so we took them here and it was such a good decision! Everyone loved the food and seating in the side outdoor area by the windows. We had some less adventurous eaters but we pushed them to try some more items on the menu and they loved their dishes. The servers and runners were attentive and helpful when ordering for a bigger group.

Yelp
I walked into this spot on a Friday night and was thrilled to be seated immediately. It's an extremely cozy and comfortable atmosphere - you can dress up or down (I was fresh from yoga and didn't feel out of place!). There's an extensive beer list with so many styles - our whole party got something we each liked. Similarly, the menu is fit for everyone. I opted for the Garden Beet Melt. It was solid - a little heavy handed on the sauce, and fries tasted a little frozen, but overall a good meal. I won't say the food was outstanding (this time around at least - I'll go back!), but I loved the atmosphere and variety of choices.
google avatar

Yelp
I loved this place during brunch more than dinner but place was still great bc it wasn't just my food that looked great. I got the Chicken Orzo. It was a light & refreshing dinner but hit all the spots. Other people at the table got the BLT Salad with Chicken & Asian Chicken Bowl. Neither looked disappointing at all. My girlfriend got the smoked salmon Kimchi & my god it looked amazing. For being Salmon, you got the quantity of meat you'd see on a more common meat like Turkey or Italian. You get your money's worth. Plus sat outside in the cool canopy tents & was really cool.

Yelp
Centraal had a very warm and cozy atmosphere with the best waiter I've ever had in my entire life. The food was amazing and so was everything else.

Yelp
Dined here two times, recently. Food, service, and atmosphere were all really good! Wait times were more than appropriate for both seating and food. The location is perfect. The first time I went with family. We were seated right away on a Friday night at 6:30 pm. The host was very friendly and professional. He sat us in the first booth by the door and we all noted that it was still very cozy and warm even by the door. I really liked the low lighting and the world travel theme. Our server was very timely, friendly, and attentive. She stood out as a really fantastic server. My wife and I ordered a flight of beer and all options were very tasty. Our group ordered the fish fry, the spicy chicken sandwich, the avocado sandwich, and the Buddha salmon. Everyone was raving about their food. Notable items were the spicy chicken sandwich, the Buddha salmon, and the basil aioli dipping sauce. We enjoyed our experience so much we chose that restaurant again very soon after. We had the same host and a different server they were both very friendly and professional. My wife and I ordered a different flight of beer (not as great as the first one, but still awesome to be able to try smaller portions of a variety of Belgian beers). For food, we ordered the Buddha salmon and the spicy chicken sandwich again. Both dishes were fantastic!

Jodi R.

Yelp
If you want beer this is the place to be. Beer list is on a departure:arrivals display. If you want good food, eat elsehere. Should have left after our apps. The baba flatbread was bland. Sounded better than it tasted. The black bean smasher with two thin patties tasted like grease. Husband was equally dissatisfied with his entree. Outdoor area on side & in back are nice looking. Easy parking.

Yelp
Highlights/Lowlights 1) Gluten-Free* Options 2) Late Night Food 3) Ample Seating Centraal to me is a very reliable option for many things! The menu is diverse with a ton of options. I have a lot of picky eaters in my family and I find myself constantly bringing them here. They always find something they like. I also find myself here a lot for late night eats! The kitchen is open late (maybe until midnight?). The food isn't knock your socks off good but it's reliable and never bad. Gluten-Free* options are available, including GF buns. Note- I do not think the kitchen is dedicated gluten-free so if that's what you need, be sure to call ahead and ask your questions. Centraal is conveniently located on KK in BayView. It's an urban area so no parking lot but it's easy enough to grab parking on a side street or to walk over if you live in the neighborhood! We are so glad Centraal is a part of the BayView community!

Yelp
I love how curated the Centraal menu is. There is truly an option for everyone. I have tried a couple different menu items and loved every single one. My friends and I always come for brunch because it's not too busy, the brunch cocktails are great, and the service is awesome.

Yelp
Went to Centraal with some friends and had an okay experience. They have a pretty good beer list. Their menu is pretty standard in terms of choices, but it was slightly overpriced for what it was in my opinion.

Yelp
Loved everything! The beef hash was so good! It's been added to my Brunch Mount Rushmore. On a personal note for next time: would have preferred a runnier yolks.

Yelp
Centraal Grand is probably my least favorite of the Lowlands restaurants. The menu is rather large, but filled with entrees that sound more sophisticated than they really are. I will say that the bacon jalapeño dip is delicious! The homemade kettle chips served on the side pair perfectly with the dip. We did have to ask for more chips to balance out the dip to chip ratio. The rosemary and goat cheese Mac and cheese didn't sound appetizing to me so my server let me order the kids Mac and cheese instead. I loved it, so thank you for the substitution. A couple people got burgers and said they were subpar. The ones that ordered the spicy burgers said they had no heat. One person ordered an Asian chicken bowl and someone else got the bahn mi chicken sliders. The verdict was average. The restaurant is huge, as well as the drink menu. I definitely suggest getting the bacon jalapeño dip.

Yelp
Between either a 2 or a 3, everything was just okay and pretty plain which isn't necessarily a bad thing but the prices are what ruined it, tried a few dishes and just wasn't worth the price we paid for any of them.

Yelp
Stopped by Centraal on Saturday night for drinks and eats with my main dining companion. You can get on the waitlist right from the Yelp app which is handy. Fortunately, the wait was currently less than 5 minutes when I checked the waitlist, so we didn't bother. We arrived and were able to be seated immediately. We were offered either outside or in. Since it was a little on the breezy side, we opted for inside. In hindsight, now that I've seen their outdoor dining--it appears to be quite protected and really beautiful. I look forward to coming back and enjoying some patio dining! We both ordered drinks--I got the Buckataton Old Fashioned and my dining companion opted for their peach mule. The Old Fashioned was everything a Wisconsin old fashioned ought to be. My dining companion found their mule a bit on the sweet side. That said, I tried it and though sweet, it was peachy and delicious! We perused their tap list but we both prefer porters and stouts and their menu was definitely on the lighter, hoppier side of things. For my dinner, I got the Centraal greens with salmon added. The salad came with crisp fresh apples, a buttery and delicious bleu, almonds, and a lovely lemony vinaigrette. It paired well with the salmon, which appeared to be seared. The salmon was well cooked but a bit plain. Our server was an absolute delight and the prices are about what you'd expect. Get to it!

Yelp
Delicious food. Excellent service. One of our favorite places to eat in Milwaukee. Are dinner and brunch there in same weekend. Every bite was delicious.

Yelp
Definitely one of the best restaurants in Bay View offering high quality food. I used to think this place was a bit overpriced but now I think it's fairly reasonable for the quality you receive. I am a frequent customer here. Few times a year at least. I like their Bay View Burger and Carolina Fried Chicken Sandwich. The Garden Pita Platter is a delicious starter. Creamy Mushroom soup as well. Honestly, it's hard to go wrong with food here. In person service is great. Reliable orders for delivery as well. Always good packaging. You have the choice of bar, table, and booth seating. There's also an outdoor seating. There's only one bathroom stall which I don't like.

Yelp
Looking for a nice brunch spot and this place did not disappoint. The vibe was an old metro station with beautiful old wooden booths and suitcases. It had TVs everywhere in the bar area but it didn't detract much. Outside looked awesome, even had tables in the old outdoor bus stop. The bartender was attentive even when busy and they had a nice selection of NA drinks. We split a berry, basil mascarpone French toast to start and we were super glad we did. The challah bread was perfect and the creamy mascarpone, sweet berries, and bright basil combined perfectly. I had the cheesy shredded beef hash and if I did still drink this may had become my photo hangover cure. The perfect sunny side up eggs topped it beautifully. She had the greens and grains bowl and loved the hearty barley but would've liked my perfect eggs rather than the scrambled. We will be back.

Yelp
We visited on a Saturday morning. Got right in, no wait. Everything was delicious! We started with the salmon toast, then I had the avocado toast and my husband had the challah French toast. We would absolutely eat here again next time we're in MKE.
