Hidden gem in Bakersfield. They served us bread with strawberry butter. Yummy! We ordered the garden fruit salad that had roasted Brussels sprouts and mangos and the tri tip sandwich. So delicious.

Cute spot!! And very accommodating people, we were moving across the country so we had our cat with us and it was chilly out. Luckily they were kind enough to let us bring her in and they even cooked her a little piece of chicken! 10/10 folks. Local food, good eats but more than anything else, awesome people. Only thing I didn’t love was how sweet the sweet potato fries were but tbh everything else was exactly what I needed. Parking can be tricky but we arrived just as a school Nextdoor was getting out so idk if it’s always like that. Might’ve just been our timing.

We had such a fantastic experience at this local gem! The lobster roll was absolutely outstanding — perfectly chilled, wild-caught, and so refreshing. You could taste the quality and freshness in every bite. The atmosphere of the restaurant makes it even more enjoyable, with a warm, welcoming vibe that makes you feel right at home. The waitresses brought so much personality and friendliness to the table, making the service just as memorable as the food. And the owner — we absolutely love them! It’s clear they pour their heart into this place. Highly recommend if you’re looking for both amazing food and a wonderful dining experience.

The food is delicious, it's a fair price. The restaurant is in a good location, the atmosphere is good, the service is good, staff polite, served fairly quickly, the food and drinks were delicious and good quality. First time here and I would definitely come back, it has seating both i side and outside on the patio.

A very nice restaurant with amazing renditions of American classics with the best ingredients. The owner is very sweet too! We were heading to our car and she told us she had made some complimentary blueberries for us, but we left too fast, so she brought them out and served them to us at our car. You can't beat that kind of hospitality! The decor is also very lovely with paintings from local artists. Highly recommend.

My mom and I stopped here for lunch and really enjoyed the food. We had the Tri-tip and Rubin sandwich with sweet potato fries. So yummy! I also appreciated the outdoor seating so we could have our doggies sit with us.

Excellent and friendly service! Felt really good after eating here! I had a Western burger. Their burger meat is carrot raised and carrot finished! Really impressed with everything here. I had an Italian soda, organic cauliflower wings, and organic sweet potato fries. Wish we had this place in Oklahoma! We came here again! Everything was fabulous a second time!

You guys get the golden buzzer. Wow is exactly how I can describe this place. Every single bite of everything I had tasted immaculate . I travel a lot and I try a bunch of different restaurants and as you can see, I leave a lot of reviews and this restaurant is the best restaurant I've been to in 2025.. Maybe even a year before that. I gotta give a toast to the local ingredients because I do primarily eat organic if possible and I do know that when you source things locally and organ... the flavor is just amazing. I had to tri-tip barbecue sandwich . It was the best barbecue I've ever had out here. The sauce was amazing, they really know how to make a gray aïoli and chipotle ranch.. My wife had the bacon and fig burger with everything on it and it was just flat out amazing. My tri-tip I will give a 10 out of 10 My wife's burger she gives it a 10 out of 10 and I also give it a 10 out of 10 . Quinn, and the other waitress(s), We're amazing, down to earth people, very friendly and inviting. As a foodie, Bakersfield will now be a must stop location for lunch here in the future. You must try it Edit : I forgot to mention the delicious deviled eggs. I had to pimento cheese, deviled eggs, and everything just complemented each other, so delicately. The eggs are expensive though, you have two eggs cut in half that look like four deviled eggs that are $15 . When in reality, you're only getting two eggs, but it is good

Went in for brunch, the menu is the same but they do serve some spritzers, so you know I was there. The best fresh squeezed juice in town! Whether you get it in the spritzer or not, it's worth! The sweet potato and Brussels sprout bowl, amazing! Avocado add on is a must, the egg is cooked perfectly to order. All the ingredients here are top tier and it really shows, the dishes are designed smartly and you can tell effort goes into the offerings. No espresso, sadly. But yes they have cold brew and french press coffee. Doesn't appear to be freshly ground that morning and consideration into procurement of a better quality coffee would yield a better outcome. I know, I know, it's from 502, but weird coffee people know what's up. The service is slow, seriously, don't bother trying to have a place to be when choosing this as your dining establishment. Knowing this, we made no plans, and took our time. But the service could be more attentive and frequent. I love the dining area and the have a back dining room that is very artsy. They have little offerings from local artisans, sage bundles, incense, etc. I think the outdoor area could use a little love. Tables are undersized, making the experience involve a lot of rearranging of plates. The chairs are tired and need replacing or repair, seriously the backs are so loose. I'd consider putting a hook or two on the support posts for people to hang their jacket, purse or bag. Is there value? At roughly 42.00/person for breakfast, coffee and a spritz, I think it's just "fine" and maybe improved service or some small improvements to the dining space would justify the price point. Really this is a 3.5ish for me. But giving 4, because of the great taste.

To begin with, an endearing atmosphere, minimal but inviting. Our waitress was very nice. We were given a complimentary dish which was delicious. I had been meaning to come to Locale for ages but it's hours of operation did not mesh with my schedule. Until today, that is. I took my husband out to lunch on a whim and we were delighted by what we discovered here--rustic, unpretentious good food. The prices are reasonable and portions are decent for the prices. We cannot wait to return.

So good! Really unexpected and delicious. Had decked eggs, salad, goat cheese and bread. Juice and iced tea, the entire lunch was delicious and my waitress was awesome! Great ambiance too! Go!

It is a pity. I really wanted to like this place. The food looks amazing. After 15 minutes there. Nothing! No menus. Nothing to drink. In fact not even a person offering anything. We went to look for someone inside but found no-one. We left

I'm back again, writing another wonderful review about this wonderful place. The food was amazing and on point, the bacon and fig burger was really sweet and balanced with the fries. It was a nice twist to add caviar for the deviled eggs. The service was amazing, and periodically got checked in on, where it wasn't overwhelming or were we felt forgotten, it was a perfect balance while we sat in the art room and enjoyed the atmosphere.

Locale Farm to Table Eatery is a locally sourced restaurant with sustainable and organic ingredients. It's one of my favorite places to stop on roadtrips. There's a small lot and street parking. For the food: The Best of the Best Combo is a good way to try different options on the menu. I loved the options I ordered: Tri-tip Melt and Stone Fruit Salad. It's a generous salad portion, refreshing and packed with ingredients.

Great food, cute patio seating with little mist sprayers to keep you cool on a hot summer day. We were passing through town and liked the sound of an organic , seasonal menu. The food did not disappoint. The server brought out a complimentary appetizer to celebrate the restaurant's 10 yr anniversary; what a nice surprise! Everyone loved their sandwich &salad combos. We admired many burgers at the nearby tables and agreed that we better try one next time we pass through town.

A cute little cafe in the middle of downtown. Has a great patio outside. I got the TriTip Melt and house made onion rings. The toast was the perfect crisp without injuring the roof of my mouth. The steak was incredibly tender and juicy. It was a cheesy heaven with the complement of the chimichurri oozing an amazing olive oil. The onion rings were golden crispy goodness with the perfect cook on the onion. The sweet potatoes and brussel sprouts were fresh and delicious. Everything kept its vibrant taste. The bacon was the perfect compliment. We missed taking a picture of the complimentary appetizer which was goat cheese, caramelized onions and basalmic glaze. The server was a sweet girl with attentive service.

This was such a gem We were headed to Sacramento and needed to eat. I found them on yelp and man oh man!! They had me at the bidet in the bathroom!! I can't say thank you enough!! The food, art and service was phenomenal! Vanessa we appreciate you! Also happy 10 year celebration many more to come! We will definitely be back!! I haven't stopped thinking about the potato and leek soup!

I had to stop by the Post Office and needed some lunch. I don't know why, but I am probably one of the last people to try this place. It was time to try it. Yes, it looks like an old gas station. There are two dining areas. I sat in the north dining room. It was a bit noisy, but I had my pods in, so it wasn't much of a problem. I was eating alone today. If I wanted to have a conversation, I would likely eat outside. I ordered the Chicken Parm Sandwich. This is a good sandwich. Very filling. The chicken was tender. They serve extra sauce on the side. The roll was perfect for this sandwich. The service was wonderful, and the food came out in a timely manner. This is a good place for lunch in downtown Bakersfield. Give it a try. I don't know what took me so long.

Very artsy ambiance (back room). Looks modern and full of art that is for sale if you wanted to take it home. Service was very nice. Very busy morning one server and even though it was a bit of a wait the hostess kept ensuring we were going to be help and offered to take our drink order and that appetizer was amazing. Food was really good. We had the burger and the apple salad. Really good. If I am around the area I am more than happy to come back.

The food here is always amazing and the owner is first class! The staff are always super friendly and provide great service. I try to keep my choices simple, not too fancy, so I ordered the Turkey & Bacon Cheddar Melt. Everything about it is mouthwatering. House brined turkey, tomatoes, uncured applewood smoked bacon, and chipotle ranch in between two perfectly toasted sourdough pieces of bread. And you can't go wrong with a basket of sweet potato fries. What was really nice was the unexpected complimentary dish of fromage that had a basalmic glaze with sauted onions and pecans on it. It was accompanied by some toasted pieces of bread and it was very tasty. We sat outside at a quaint little table, but there was plenty of room inside the main dining and in the building in the back that was full of decorated walls full of art from local individuals.

The food was perfect. Burgers are juicy and full of flavor. The service was also great. Went around the lunch time hour and they were on it, attentive. The place itself is pretty small but it does offer outdoor seating as well. They hade a guitarist playing during our visit so it added to the ambiance. A little loud at time but manageable. Would definitely visit again.

A real chill place, great service and really good options for healthy food. Rich salads and burger wrapped with lettuce instead of bread was amazing. Instead of choosing fries as side dishes ask for a salad instead for a healthy option.

I loved this place, was Able to get a spot during my lunch hour and the food was incredible. The service was flawless,and the chicken and waffles with the green apple butter is something you must taste.

The food truly is fresh. The ambience is unique. The people are wonderful and is such a gem in all for the community of Bakersfield. Even with its popularity, I believe it's still severely underrated. This is not a passerby, this is a must stop if you're looking for farm to table. Highly recommend.

Food was great! But pricey, $15 for just a burger/ melt/ sandwich You get what you pay for because they were amazing, delicious and full of flavor. The fries are an additional $5, along with whatever you're drinking. The service is great, constantly asking if anything is needed. They even bring out a complimentary small dish and it's soooo fresh, really gets your appetite starting. My pastrami melt was juicy, a little more on the wet side with the juices of the pickles and chiles, I wish it was more spicy or they had an option of spicer.

3.5 stars! Food is so good, fresh, delicious, healthy and local. Service takes a long time. Just be aware the servers are in no rush, expect a leisurely European style meal and to ask for the check. They gave us a free app of bread and olive oil to celebrate their anniversary and that was very sweet. The turkey melt was fine but the salad was great! Perfect salty and sweet toppings. Cauliflower was fine, sauces were a bit off, couldn't put my finger on it. I'd be back but with the understanding that service takes a long time...

My boyfriend and I were passing through and decided to come here. Service was amazing, she was sweet. The back room had paintings and an area you can paint your own art. The food was amazing. We both wanted the sweet potatoes and Brussels sprout bowl so we shared it. I got the tri-tip melt and my boyfriend got the loaded tuna croissant. We ate everything. :) We highly recommend the sweet potatoes and brussels sprout bowl with sriracha aioli.

This place was better than I expected! We ordered the turkey bacon melt and it was so delicious! Whatever the sauce is they use was so good. It also tasted really fresh and what could be a very heavy sandwich tasted really light. Tony was our waiter and he was really awesome. He was attentive and kind. He brought out this really Delicious complementary appetizer for their 9 year anniversary it was goat cheese, olive oil, olives and just the best deliciousness! We would definitely come back!!

The place is a little rustic but seemed clean. I was looking forward to dining on locally produced food in season. It appeared that Brussels sprouts were in season and I'm not a fan. The food I got was tasty but not sure if it's worth the high prices. Service was slow and not too friendly. To be fair, maybe they were short handed. I probably wouldn't go back.

They are now open for dinner and have some super tasty specialty items not on the regular menu so make sure to ask. Dinner is more intimate and romantic. You can tell that their service trickles down from the owner herself. Hospitality at its best.

It was a darling place with delicious food. The waitress was very friendly and accommodating to my family. The place itself was extremely small and they only had 1 bathroom. The food did not come out around the same time so most of the party was done before I was able to start. That being said, I would still recommend it, the tri tip sandwich was delicious and the waitress that helped us was very friendly. Come ahead if you have a large party, I would suggest only having a max of 4 people.

This review is long over due! Before Locale there was union station deli and almost once a week I would go for their tuna melt, it was my favorite. But when Heather purchased the restaurant 9 years ago, I got to watch her transform the space to what it is today. Locale has truly paved the way for restaurants in Bakersfield, it's always ahead of the trends, finding ways to be innovative with food and always supporting the community. The owner Heather is wonderful and she's got kind staff always there to assist you during lunch hours. The Fresca and Brussels Sprouts will always be my favorite menu items, and I love when they run their thanksgiving sandwich special! You have to try it this season! If you're looking for lunch, catering or a fun space to host an event, Locale is cute, good and right downtown!

Was driving through Bakersfield and stopped in for lunch. Service was very quick, and they gave me a free appetizer plate since they're celebrating their 10 year anniversary. The sweet potato & brussel sprouts bowl was SO GOOD! And bringing out the coffee in a small French press? Love it! Already thinking about the next time I'll be passing through town so I can stop here again.

We are in town for a conference, and decided to take a chance on someplace local. Rosen was so cheerful and patient with us. Ambience is minimalist. Background music is nice, but nearly too loud for talking. The wine glasses came out spotted, or greasy on the outside. The food is INCREDIBLE. It started with a spread of chèvre cheese, roasted garlic and olive oil with sourdough toast wedges. We recommend the Tri-tip Melt, Chicken Piccata and the Sweet Potato/Brussels Sprout Bowl. For dessert, Eisen brought out sugar covered strawberries with a crème brûlée torch--Who wants to do the honors? she asked. A perfect way to end the meal. We will happily come back, and tell everyone at our conference to come, as well! Thank you very much.

Great location, Downtown across the street from the Padre Hotel. Very cool exterior with outside seating and a cool patio. Interior was even cooler, wish I would have took a pic but we chose to sit outside and enjoy the weather. Inter was very trendy and had a few decorative trees with pink blossoms and modern tiles! Service was quick and friendly. I ordered the turkey with habanero jelly with onion rings and an iced tea. My partner ordered aolie chicken, sweet potato fries and an iced coffee. Patio was a great vibe downtown and weather was perfect! Food came out looking delicious and it did not disappoint! My sandwich was so good that I feel I met be addicted to it! I felt good know everything was organic and or locally sourced as were pretty clean eaters. Prices are a little high but worth it to me to eat clean and food was delicious!

On our way to Yosemite & stopped here for lunch. Everything was amazing from start to finish. The service was great & the food was top tier. Would recommend to all.

I've been wanting to try this place for a long time and I'm so glad I did. It's really cute inside and they serve the food on adorable butcher blocks. Everything is super appealing to the eye, including the decor. The service is top-notch being attentive and great about refilling our drinks. It was very busy at lunchtime, but that's to be expected because how great it is for the food so yummy I loved everything especially the potato salad which I'm really picky about. Reminded me a lot of my grandmother's potato salad. I highly recommend.

The food is good, but came out cold. The servers ignored us. I have enjoyed very good meals here in the past, but the service seems to just get worse each time I go there.

Stopped by on the way to Los Angeles, and consider myself lucky the restaurant is now serving dinner. The Yelp reviews did not lie - what an absolute delight! I opted for a 1/2 sandwich and salad combo, which included the tuna fish salad. The portions were generous and fresh. The menu wasn't overwhelming with too many choices, but a nice variety of seasonal dishes. After dinner, the owner stopped by my table to ask how everything went and if I had ever been there before. You can certainly tell she takes considerable pride in the restaurant and the food the team is creating. I don't often get to Bakersfield, but this is certainly a reason to stop. Well done, and thank you for an exceptional meal!

First time here last month- April 2025 for afternoon eats. The food was mouthwatering to look at visually. Then to taste it there was a flavor explosion. I had a turkey sandwich with sweet potato fries and onion rings. I drank water& lemon perfect paring with this sandwich. My sister had the veggie sandwich. So much food we ate half there and the rest for dinner that night. We are going back this week.

This is a cute local restaurant. The servers were great and very friendly. The inside is small but cute and they have outdoor seating. The food was solid. We got the All American burger and it had great flavor. The onion rings were not my favorite because they were a little sweet. The Tri tip melt sandwich was excellent. We got the fig salad and it was perfectly dressed with bacon, green apple, and bacon. They also gave us a free appetizer. It was roasted garlic, goat cheese, nice olive oil and salt with toast points. It was quite delicious.

This restaurant looked sooo good online! I give it 5 stars for atmosphere, loved the art, looked clean, service was good. Give them 2 stars for food - my friend & I ordered different things & both of our food was greasy, not tasty, neither of us could finish our sandwiches. Upset stomach all the way home. Disappointed! Unfortunately can't recommend.

It didn't start as well as it finished, when we got in there. The only way to get a menu is by capturing with the QR code of your phone. I still prefer a paper menu and I wasn't offered one. Our wait was short, we were just at lunch time on the Monday after thanksgiving, our server came and gave us a nice cold glass of water with fresh lemon, followed by an order of a double IPA, and a bottomless glass of champagne. Side of the truffle devil food eggs came next, then our sandwich, which we split a wholly habanero with a side of fries. Next a complementary board of olive oil, goat cheese, and roasted garlic with crudités on the side. Overall it was a wonderful experience, they even have a musician on the side playing and singing with her guitar. Looking forward to going again.

Really cute, trendy restaurant located downtown in a renovated gas station. There are 10 tables inside and a few outside. Parking is limited, though. There is a separate dining area for larger groups. I was seated quickly, and the waitress brought over water immediately. I ordered the truffle deviled eggs as a starter, then followed it with the sweet potato and Brussel sprouts bowl. The deviled eggs came out on a black slate. They have green onions, bacon, and feta cheese on the. The truffle flavor was very subtle. The bowl had caramelized sweet potatoes, chopped, grilled Brussel sprouts, feta cheese, bacon, a fried, over-easy egg and I added avocado. I ordered the Fresca, which was a mix of watermelon, orange and lemon which was refreshing. It will be on my list of places to return to.

Fantastic! The service was great and the food was awesome. This isn't a place that is doing the same old tired dishes you see on every menu. These dishes are expertly crafted with local ingredients and I have not had anything from here yet that I wouldn't order again.

We tried this restaurant this weekend and let me just say it was AMAZING!!!! There is a really nice patio and the indoor seating is a bit limited but very nice. On the day we went there was a young lady playing music and singing. As the inside became busy the noise level became a bit much but overall it was nice. From what I understand there is another dining area but I didn't see it so I won't comment on it. The food was amazing and a lot of it. My dining companion ordered a champagne spritzer which was FANTASTIC. Our service was just as fantastic and I love the cutting boards they use to serve with! With a birthday a few days away, I may just need to treat myself to lunch at this restaurant .

I got to say that the food here is quite delicious!! I think that the salad did taste better personally even though I am a meat lover but the combination is delicious! I recommend doing the half and half. People there are also very nice so you can interact with the servers there.

They offered a free appetizer as a thank you for our support and that was a cheese & roasted garlic oil plate with toasted sourdough bread what a perfect way to thank your guests for their support! I ordered a tri tip melt that was absolutely delicious. It was a little small so I'm glad i also ordered the cauliflower buffalo "wings" that are dipped in tempura flour. They were delicious & brought the few left over back for my husband so also enjoyed them! My friend got the Brussels sprout sweet potato mash & couldn't stop raving about it! Towards the end of our meal, the staff came around with sample small plates of their stone fruit salad & apple Brie salad! Wow what a perfect way to close out the meal.. of course i want to try your salads too! The dining experience was beautiful and their art murals in the back dining area are so smart & inclusive of our blind community! Thanks for a delicious lunch!

Stopped in here while passing through Bakersfield. It's a very small restaurant cranking out top tier dishes. I could talk for days about the food but it really boiled down to the tri tip sandwich. Absolute perfection. My server Tony was fantastic and walked me through each course, expertly.
