i don’t usually write reviews but i feel this experience needs to be shared so the restaurant can do better. i never felt this caught off guard by a restaurant and was surprised our experience was this way after reading great reviews. my bf and i are understanding and respectful people, so to be treated this poorly by the staff was out of the ordinary as we never experienced this type of service before.
our visit was disappointing not just because of the long wait times, around 30 minutes for food and another 30 for the check, but because of the attitude and disrespect we experienced. our server, a woman who appeared to be in her 50s, rolled her eyes and scoffed when we asked simple questions about the menu. we were polite and genuinely trying to understand the options since we weren’t very familiar with sushi restaurants. when i asked about the size of one of the entrées, she responded with attitude, saying “yeah i mean it’s big enough,” as if it were a bother to answer.
even though we stayed kind and understanding and still left a $20 tip hoping to show goodwill, the overall experience felt dismissive and unwelcoming. when i later asked other workers for the check, they looked directly at me, ignored me, and acted visibly annoyed even though i asked nicely.
not sure if the staff were having a bad day, but that’s never an excuse to treat customers with disrespect. i’m sharing this not out of anger but in hopes that management takes it seriously. every guest deserves basic courtesy, respect, and a welcoming atmosphere, which was completely missing during our visit.
