Panoramic Potomac and DC views, inventive cocktails and Italian bites.

"The historic Watergate Hotel boasts perhaps one of the most recognizable rooftops in the District. Starting at 5 p.m., saddle up to the bar or rent a cabana while taking in breathtaking views of the Washington Monument, Potomac River, the Kennedy Center, and more. FYI: Reservations for Fridays and Saturdays require a minimum food and beverage spend of $75 per person." - Tierney Plumb
"The historic Watergate Hotel boasts perhaps one of the most recognizable rooftops in the District. Splurge on pricey cocktails while taking in breathtaking views of the Washington Monument, Potomac River, the Kennedy Center, and more. The rooftop is open seasonally, usually opening up in late April and closing again in late September." - Tierney Plumb
"The Foggy Bottom rooftop has panoramic city views, which means your fireworks angles will be phenomenal. You might even be able to see shows across the river in Virginia. But the restaurant is pricey (cocktails usually run $25), so this is one of the more expensive Independence Day parties. The views are unmatched, though." - tristiana hinton
"The views at Top Of The Gate are unmatched and that alone is reason to make it a stop on your Kennedy Center night out. You can see across the city, the river, and into Virginia from the perch atop the Watergate Hotel. The views and the name are going to cost you—think $25 cocktails and $17 truffle fries—but it’s all enjoyable, especially if you’re just looking for light American bites before or after the show. Lean back on oversized plastic wicker patio furniture and warm up with the gas fire pits if the wind starts to pick up, all while taking in the city." - tristiana hinton
"This is one of the most relaxing rooftops in DC. From the top of the Watergate Hotel in Foggy Bottom, you can see almost every major landmark in the city, from the Potomac River running alongside the hotel to the National Cathedral up the hill. There’s a small food menu (don’t get anything other than the $17 truffle fries), but most folks are here for the views. Sip a $25 cocktail while you catch up with friends around a firepit or swing by with a date before dinner." - omnia saed, tristiana hinton
