T-Bone Tom's

This was my second time in a number of years that I have visited this restaurant in Kemah. My first was the better of the two visits. Because, I was mainly there to see the Texas music artist, Van Wilks, perform live in 2017 in promotion of his 21st Century Blues CD from two years prior. In recognition today for T Bone Tom's, the majority of my part for presenting a positive review, at the end of the year, overall is for their efforts for bringing Texas music artists, primarily, to their stage, regularly for the south Texas coastal community of residents and visitors to our esteemed ecosystem! I do know now, after the second visit here, that the outdoors extension to the restaurant is the better, more lively place to sit and relax. Drink your favorite beverage and talk or l listen to live music. While inside on this Halloween visit, I felt I was constantly being observed by various members of their wait and buss staff. Because, they would make an appearance every few minutes, around the corner to the back booths and then quickly turnaround to retreat out of view from that back area of inside the restaurant. I suppose, because we were there still occupying the table and drinking tea after our meal there. So there wasn't enough for them to do elsewhere in their job description. I would also like to state now, that this restaurant is not a Texas general foods restaurant nor anything considered Tex Mex. Even though their main outdoor marquee sign says steakhouse & restaurant. Purely, it's a steak zoned, BBQ, hamburger and/or seafood fares restaurant. No fish and chips, I saw on their menu. You'll have to go on down to Kemah boardwalk area. There's a few good ones there! For example, instead of a great Texas nachos; with toppings of Texas chili or fajitas, with your choice of beef steak skirt or chicken breast or mixed, and quality nacho cheese, sour cream, fresh guacamole, and sliced jalopenos. They'll offer an entrée, simply called Brisket Queso. That is the closest thing to Español you'll have to choose from here. If ground or beef cuts is your main forte, there's plenty of sides to go along with your meal. Our appetizer of choice was the fried mushrooms with ranch dressing. And two sides, with potato salad and fried okra with my choice of two meats, good tasting ribs and sliced beef brisket. She chose the coconut fried shrimp. I Liked the very filling and thickened potato salad which of course, is like a meal in itself or a non sweet dessert in my opinion. So, as Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top says, Ease off of the potato salad! Or ya'll will be asking for takeout packaging like we did. Oh, and least not forget, their catchy claim to recognition here, that's for their brand of Armadillo eggs, aka (deep fried jalopenos). I tried those the first time I remember coming out to T Bone Tom's!

This place is a must-try, if visiting Kemah, TX! The food was amazing! We had the Armadillo Eggs as an appetizer....perfect recommendation by our server. I had a steak finger basket...great sampling of their chicken fried steak in strip form (So tender!) Hubby had Tom's Choice Ribeye steak...great flavor and grilled to perfection! The portions are huge! The prices are reasonable. We easily made 2 meals out of our orders. The staff is friendly & the atmosphere is very unique since Kemah Broadwalk is within walking distance!!!!

Ordered brisket queso for appetizer. Could've had a larger portion of brisket and chopped jalapeños served instead of large slices. Entree included blackened catfish with green beans, rice and spinach. Dinner companion ordered fried mushrooms as another appetizer. Outside was crispy, but I didn't like texture inside. Cocktail was a peach long island tea which could've been stronger. Server was attentive and humorous. Will return to try other items. Enjoyed live music on patio.

We thought the armadillo eggs were definitely delicious. Our server was amazing and the customer service and vibes all around were great. We were just a bit disappointed in the quality of the prepared food. We would come back for drinks and appetizers, customer service and great atmosphere. Maybe not for the brisket in the mac and cheese, though. Which might be just a personal preference. We had heard great raving reviews about it before going ourselves for the first time.

The service and the atmosphere are great. I’ve tried multiple plates, however for some reason the bbq never taste the same. I ordered the 3 meat plate a few times and the second was just ehh and the third time it tasted like burnt crap or something. Like it has been dropped on coals. It totally grossed me out. The first time was great though. Idk.. they need quality control on it or something.

First time there. We love it. I have a life-threatening allergy to sea food (I can't even smell it), we told the waitress and she managed it great, she told us about the food that it was safe for me to order. She told the manager about it, and he approached us to make sure everything was ok. The food was so good, and the place was clean. I recommend this place 100%.

We came to Tom's for dinner and meats. This place does not disappoint at all. The worst parts were that the place has no official indoor seating it's all covered outdoor seats with fans running so on the hotter days it is probably a bit rough. There was love music playing and the band was doing a bunch of covers and played very well, they're just over powering while playing so conversations are mostly saved for in between songs or when the band takes a break. The food itself is delicious, with large portions at a very reasonable price. I ate the marbled brisket and sausage which were both exceptional. They came with a smokey bar b cue sauce which went great with both meats, though I preferred only a small hint of sauce. The onion rings were delicious and filling. I had to share them with my party to finish them off. If the weather isn't too hot, this restaurant is a must. Probably worth it even when it's hot too.

Austin was our server. He was very attentive, friendly, made sure to constantly check on us throughout our meal. Knowledgeable of menu, if he didnt know answer to a question, he would obtain clarification first before providing answer. Food was well prepared, everything was hot upon arrival to table, food was well seasoned. So glad we tried for ourselves instead of going with opinion of someone else who said food was not good.

This place has been for a while, with good reason. The food is really good. I tried the sandwich that comes with ribs on top and it was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Only hiccup was the waitress charging an adult chicken tender/finger meal for my daughter who is 10 and ordered from the kids menu. They did fix it but hate to have to deal with that and bring it up.

Came down from HTX and came together for dinner here after an active day. Ordered grilled pork chops, they give you 2. Can't complain for the great hearty portions. My bf got the fried seafood plate. All solid options. The service was attentive and friendly inside and outside had a live band that had the whole patio full, definitely dining their next visit.

Brought my Father for Father's Day for a steak and he ordered the chopped steak instead! Overall food was okay, brisket was very good but honestly tasted warmed up as did the ribs. Gumbo was not our favorite. Sides were amazing....mac & cheese is all that m&c should be, creamy, piping hot...very good. Fries tasted homemade, fresh cut, very tasty. Potato salad, coleslaw, green beans all very good. Ordered tea, very good and a few Budweisers. Overall food was okay, I feel could definitely step it up a few notches. I will say though, service was wonderful! Waitress gave great suggestions, we were seated promptly, and manager stopped by our table to check in on our meal. Ambiance was laid back, very inviting. Will we be back, for sure...definitely open to try some other items on the menu.

There's a reason why T Bone Tom's was on Diners, Drive-ins, and. Dives. This place is great.

Great name, great reputation and the place was even on DDD!!! I had the marbled brisket with ribs and sausage. I want impressed with the BBQ sauce especially being in Texas! It too close to ketchup. The meat was good though. We were there for a birthday party and waitress didn't rush us and let us take our time. They even kept our cake in the fridge until we were ready for it.

Always great food made better by an awesome team of servers. Portions are a good size, if you leave hungry it's your own fault.

Absolutely amazing place! The blackened catfish was off the chart good! Didn't get a picture but get a side of grilled shrimp as well! Excellent service all the way around. Place has been there since 1974 and the nostalgia of the restaurant will take you back in time.

Great music, always great food. We love this place and spend a lot of time on the patio.....in the spring and fall. Lol Great place, if you're in Kemah, I highly recommend T-Bone Toms.

We ordered a prime rib with baked potato. The steak was "to die for" if I could, I would have ordered two. It was a medium cooked but very very tender. The service was excellent and checked in with us but not being a nuisance. The atmosphere was nice. Not loud. Options to sit inside or outside. Definitely ordering the Tom Rib eye next time.

10/10 hamburger steak 7/10 Chicken and sausage gumbo Last time I was out here I had the hamburger steak and it was really good. I ordered it again today and it was almost better this time around. The hamburger patty had more char and enhanced the flavor. The Louisiana Purchase appetizer was good but I have had better gumbo. There was a lot of chicken and sausage. The broth lacked some seasoning but when I'm feeling sick, I would love to have this specific gumbo because it's a light flavored broth. We also got our usual order of armadillo eggs and over the years they have been getting smaller in size. I would say when we first came out 10 years ago, they were as big as a pear. Now they are getting closer to the size of real chicken eggs! Needless to say, they are still the best armadillo eggs. Honestly, I've been all across the country and no one makes jalapeño wrapped brisket balls!

Right as we walked in we were immediately greeted by Ashton, such a kind person and very thoughtful! Him describing the menu and what we wanted to order the food was spectacular , I ordered the catfish was amazing and seasoned well. My friend got the Monday $1 wing special and a Voodoo drink which had him feeling right!

We went to T-Bone Tom's for Happy Hour which had great prices on their wine and beer. We had fried pickles for our appetizer, and they were perfectly fried. I had the shrimp cocktail that had a large portion of bay shrimp. I would have preferred three or four large shrimp instead. My hubby had a brisket taco and a fish taco--both had a lot of meat and fish. He said they were both excellent. The ambiance is Texas casual and well done. The service was prompt and pleasant. We will be back.

I havent eaten here in about six years did not like the food and service was rude and I won't go back ! Makes me feel like I'm going to be ill again

Not sure how you could go wrong. Value of the portions are amazing. Steak was delicious, as were the sides. Service was great and had a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend.

Had a great time T-bone Toms tonight. It was definitely patio weather today. The service was great and the food was pretty great too. We will definitely try it again.

The armadillo eggs were amazing. So was the marinated ribeye steak! The server was extremely helpful and the outdoor dining was great.

Great good old American food and ambiance and great service. With an awsome patio that also serves their great food!

You can't go wrong with T-Bone Tom's if visiting the Kemah area! Have been here many times over the years and the services and food are consistently excellent. They have a large outdoor area for seating with cabana roofing to enjoy live bands almost any giving night. Great food and drink specials everyday of the week. I highly recommend the Armadillo eggs as an appetizer and have not had an entree here that I didn't enjoy.

I eat a T-bone every Friday for their fish lunch plate. The fried fish is so delicious and the mixed greens are a 10 out of 10. The price of this plate and the portion amount that you are given is a 10 out of 10 for Friday's fish lunch plate.

5 stars for the food, 5 stars for Blake who was working his very first shift for the very first time at T Bones. He was 1,000 x better than the "seasoned" waiter (I'll leave his name out) that he was shadowing. 0 stars for him, he didn't describe the food or desserts at all, didn't bother to tell us about happy hour, I overheard the waitress at the table next to us describing the happy hour options & describing the desserts to her table, our waiter did none of that. Good job Blake. You already outshine the guy they have you following. We will definitely request your section next time.

We love going to T-bone Toms when there is a good band there. Recently went with a group of 10 to see Texas City Revelators. called a few days ahead and got a table front row center. we all had dinner and drinks. Service was great. Food is always good. The music always starts early, like 5 or 6. so we can have a great night out and still be home by 9.

After waiting for an hour in the too warm restaurant for our food, the food was poor quality and dry. $20 for 3 low quality ribs and 4 slices of sausage. Do not order the flavorless chicken quesadillas. The beer was warm and we were not offered drink refills on our tea. Never again!

We love this place so much! My husband had the Tom's Choice Ribeye and I had the Large Chicken Fried Steak. Everything was delicious. I want to go back and try the bbq. We would go more often, but we live an hour away. Great date night spot to relax and unwind.

The vibes in this place were great this was my second coming with my boyfriend he loves this place ! The food was fresh and tasty . The staff is awesome our server Brian was very sweet and a goofball ((:!

Greetings TEXAS!!!! Well well well for a DDD spot this place is ok. Now how do you make dry potato salad? Ask the cook's here!!!! The basket of shrimp and it was not good.

Must come to this place when you are in Kemah, TX! The outdoor patio is very nice with fans and a country band playing. We had a blast. Cocktails are nice and server is friendly. Very good quality steak at very reasonable prices. Highly recommend. Skip all the restaurants on Main and boardwalk. Just come to Tom's!

Food was great! Chicken wings were so good, we went 2 nights in a row. Best buffalo wings we've ever had. Finger steaks were also really good and the 3 meat plate with brisket, ribs and turkey were amazing!!

Love this spot! Been over 20 years since I was here last and the place has expanded for sure! Still great service and great food! Now has outdoor entertainment as well.

Get ready for some great food! Tried a couple of different items, can't go wrong with some great BBQ! Great beee menu, cool ambiance and great food, definitely a spot to check out when in the area

I've been wanting try T-Bone Tom's for a while, especially since seeing them on Triple-Ds; and they did not disappoint. Not only did we get to have a meal with some of my favorite space peeps, but we were entertained with live music and served great food too. The place is totally chill and relaxed, and the staff was 1000% on par to fine dining establishments. We ordered the brisket, which was super tender and flavored to perfection. And the side dishes were superb. Everything we ate was awesome. Yum!

The food was delicious. I enjoyed the chicken fried chicken. The brown gravy was very good. I really enjoyed the grilled tomato's. They would have been super tasty on a sandwich. Hush puppies were awesome. Pork ribs with chipotle sauce was nice. Potato salad was not sweet, very homey. Our server was very nice and quick. It seemed that they were doing a whole building by himself so he was trying to be quick but it was just busy.

Great service. Excellent food. Fun environment. Outdoor space looked amazing. Plus a live band! Will definitely be back!

Great food good drinks fun atmosphere. Live bands kick up the mood. Been on Diners, Drive ins and Dives.

We chose to eat outside because, even though its still pretty hot at 7pm, and flies are always an issue, we decided it was too busy inside and there was some live music going on plus they had a lot of fans going and the Astros game on. Service was good, waitress seemed super tired, but she was pushing through and made sure to check on us often, so I can't complain. It was prime rib night, so hubby got that, and I ordered shrimp salad and tortilla soup. Food was brought quickly and quality was good.

Had a T-Bone 16oz steak, salad, baked potato. Two Mezcal Margaritas. Check was $49.00. Really reasonable. Watched the band Ezra Charles. Fun bluesy Nola music. The place was packed and the service was great. Definitely going back again..

What a hidden gem. The husband loves T-Bone Tom's steaks and has been wanting to go back, but we don't live in Kemah LOL Food was legit; service was prompt and great! I love and miss their Mac n cheese and potato salad. Next time we go to the boardwalk, definitely will stop by.

T bone Tom's is delicious. You can tell by the parking lot. Get the bbq jalapeños. Service is always good with a casual ambiance.

Looks like on the outside what the food is inside. Great if you want home cooking, or a marinated filet mignon.

We went on a Saturday night and were seated right away inside. While we didn't wait long to have our drink order taken, the wait to receive our food was over an hour long. People who came in after us received their food well before we received ours. When we got our food it was cold and not seasoned. I've loved coming here for years but the past few times have been disappointing. I hate to say that was our last time but waiting over an hour for cold food, and then we had to wait over 30 minutes once we have our card to the server to pay until we got our card back.

Went for a late birthday dinner with my boyfriend and the service and food were great!

It was a great experience! Our server Ciera was so sweet and accommodating. The atmosphere was so enjoyable, loved the live music. Lastly, the food was amazing! Will definitely be visiting again the next time we are in town!!

First time at T-bones... classic diner / steak house The food was enjoyable enough... didn't get to try their prime rib (came too late), but the chef hooked it up, and I got the rib eye instead. I'm sadden that my steak ended up a lil more medium than I wanted, and my waitress could tell it was a lil over cooked... but I'm not gonna Karen about it. The sides were simply prepared, no bells or whistles. In my opinion the prices were a lil high for what ur getting... but the service and friendly hospitality! That more than makes up for it. Enjoyed my time there greatly and wouldn't mind going back for seconds....

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner last night of the two meat bbq. Wonderful sauce comes with it. The service is as always great especially by Zack. The ambiance is casual and they stay very busy always. We were greeted, seated and taken care of immediately. An older gentleman came out to check on us and asked how everything was. This is nice especially in this day and age when everyone feels entitled. Will definitely come back and I do recommend coming here. Everything is delicious, I just don't care for the adult drinks here. Too weak for the price. Sweet tea is wonderful and they have specials every day as well as live music playing on some days.

Today My Wife and I went to T- Bone Tom's. My Wife and I were very impressed with the service and food and our Waiter Arnold he took care of us great customer service and we'll be back. We love the place

This is our 2nd vacation to the Houston Bay Area & T Bone Tom's was probably 60% of the reason we came back. The photos attached were from the 3 visits during this trip .. yes, it's so good, we ate here 3 times in one vacation. The people are nice, service is excellent, food is off the charts, & it's not even that expensive.

The owners son, Reagan or whatever his name is.... Yikes That's all I'm gonna say. Not meant to be a manager. Just because he's the owner's son doesn't mean he's got what it takes to be in the position he's in. Constantly micromanaging servers and everyone else, riddled with anxiety and stress it's cringy to watch him "work".

Very good. The ribeye is better than the T-bone, which was still delicious. The desserts were amazing. The service was top notch. The decor was very interesting and you could eat inside or out! Very cool!

The place was great, service was okay. The food was good. The only complaints we had were the gumbo, and Mac & Cheese. My mother had the gumbo which was a bit too salty for her, and the Mac & Cheese tasted like it came straight out the Kraft box which was kinda disappointing. Other than that, we loved NASA space vibes. It was nice.
