Mint House at The Divine Lorraine Hotel – Philadelphia

The air quality in the room wasn't good. They're is air in the building but not the rooms. Way too hot for just one fan. The room needed to be cleaned. The refrigerator wasn't cold. The freezer was dirty. Very dusty ,no toilet tissue. The jacuzzi was nice but dirty. Needs be updated besides that not a bad experience

Lovely comfortable well appointed units with 24 hour desk and secured doors. Lovely ambiance and two restaurants on site. We got the 2 bedroom and it was so spacious - great for a long stay or to have guests over. It’s a bit busy location so on lower floors you can hear street noise but it didn’t bother us. I hear this area is at further north you want to be About 20 min walk to center city. Downside no parking for hotel or gym. Will definitely stay here again

It was fine. I liked that the rooms were apartment style, though they were minimally furnished. The main dislike is that they put a $200 hold on your card that has yet to come off my account after almost a week after checking out. They also say that quiet time is at 10pm but there was apparently a party going on at the end of our hall until around 2am and nothing was done to address it.

*Rating this compared to other Mint hotels I’ve stayed at. I stumbled upon Mint House while I was in Dallas for a work trip and fell in love. Since then, I’ve also stayed at the Mint in NYC which was also top notch. I booked this one in Philly expecting similar and it was lacking in a major way. First, the location is poor compared to the others I’ve stayed at. Very loud and not a great place to be at night. During our stay, there was a wedding which is great.. until they close the from lobby and you have to walk through a back alley to get in. Our room also was across the street from a playground and one of our windows had no curtains… very awkward to say the least. Lastly, our room had notable cleanliness issues and upon laying in the bed, we found what appeared to be a bed bug. None of this including being woken up by the fire alarm in the middle of the night. On the plus side is the coffee shop and pizza restaurant. Coffee shop employee was incredibly kind. Our waitress at the pizza spot was also amazing and the pizza was some of the best we’ve ever had. Other mint houses were among the best hotels I’ve stayed at. This one is below average to say the least.

Friendly staff greeted us at the front. The room was amazing way better than we expected. Full kitchen, laundry closet, dining nook, and bar. Easy access to downtown and the subway. There are also a few choices for food and drink within the building and many within a few blocks. Very clean and modern interior with a well preserved old facade on the exterior. Outstanding value for the price!

No complaints! My boyfriend and I stayed 2 nights here and found the rooms to be very clean and spacious- our room was more of an apartment style with full kitchen and living/dining area. The hotel was only a few steps from the subway station and we felt safe walking around & leaving our car parked in the free street parking nearby. Service was very friendly and the hotel lobby itself was beautiful. We only wish we could have stayed longer!

For the Philadelphia marathon weekend we stayed here and we couldn’t be happier with the choice. The rooms were spacious with a kitchen and living room that our space became the meeting point and hangout spot with the rest of our group who was running and supporting us for the weekend. There’s an Aldi’s close by so that was very convenient. We did have a room that was close to the front so it was a little noisy but they do provide ear plugs and an eye mask to help. So if you need more space and prefer an apartment hotel then mint house would be a good choice for you.

Mint House never disappoints. Compared to the typical hotel prices and experience in NYC, Philly hotels really treat you right. The moment I stepped into this place, I felt like I was in heaven. The space is huge! You get a full apartment with a kitchen, laundry, and two bathrooms. The location is super convenient, especially since we were planning to visit the zoo. The only letdown was that we got a room with no view, just facing a wall, while another couple got a better view for the same price. Whenever I stay in hotels, I like to take note of good design or clever organization ideas, and Mint House gave me plenty. I loved the bathroom shelves for storage—even though I didn’t get to use them, I thought, ‘Wow, this is such a great idea!’ They even hung the washing machine to save space. I was really impressed with those touches.

I visited the Mint House as part of a Yelp Elite event and the rooms were surprisingly lovely. I didn't realize that all of the rooms are apartment-style, with a full kitchen and washer/dryer. I'm definitely adding it to my list of places to recommend to visiting colleagues, friends and family. My current review is for looks alone. I'll update on service once I've stayed there.

This is more of an air bnb than a hotel. It's located on a busy street so parking is hard. There are quite a few parking garages close by. When you walk in, the foyer is a very grand feeling. There is also a restaurant downstairs if you don't feel like going out. The elevator requires a card key to use. We booked a city view 2 bedroom, 3 bath unit, it was very clean and spacious. The character of this building and our unit was beautiful - both bedrooms had their own bathrooms and located upstairs. Downstairs was a kitchen- sitting area with tv- dining room and another full bathroom. Even had great desk area if you need to work. The windows were huge, which let in a lot of light - the window sill was big enough to sit on and just glare out. Since we were on the City side - you hear everything (mostly the cars) all day - but that didn't bother us and they provide ear plugs if needed. There is a Aldi grocery store next door, also plenty of restaurants in the area. The Met theatre is also right up the street.

I was just here for a tour and blown away by the apartment style: extended stay living at the Mint hotel. Converted from apartments to hotel/ extended stay, you have 101 rooms and 4 are bi- level 2bed/ 2bath penthouses complete with full kitchen and the views. 2 penthouses are corner spaces with the size you need for any event. Including a micro wedding option! The one bedrooms are ideal with living room, some have balconies (view only, no balcony/terrace access) and all give the space for you to stay a home away from home (or a few nights) with max 29 day stay. Walking distance from the Met with fine dining, nightclub, coffee house and chill pizza shop.. I can see how you can choose your own adventure to include The Mint House

Absolutely Beautiful property! I stayed in the apt pictured which had a wonderful view of downtown Philadelphia. An aldi is the adjacent building and Uber Eats is available. There is no parking if you are driving in and there were quite a few homeless people hanging out front on the stairs but they were never super aggressive.

Great hotel, front desk so nice. Very fancy. The room looked bigger than my house. My room had two bathrooms, a king bed, a queen bed, a living room, and a kitchen. Smelled amazing, unlike some hotels. Had an actual tv unlike some hotels, Had an amazing view of city. Beautiful sunrise and sunset. Bed so comfy I wanted to stay in it forever, King room had a desk for drawing and came with earbuds, yes earbuds including an eye mask. Since I'm a kid writing this, a couple bonuses: bouncy bed, elevator that needs card to get up{not credit card} very secure. my only concern was that there was a gorilla in the shower... or was there? HEHEHE, I recommend room 411.

The Mint House at The Divine Lorraine Hotel - Philadelphia was one of the dirtiest hotels I've ever experienced. The booking and digital pre-check-in process was lengthy and included a background check and a photo ID through their website/system, so I was surprised at the way this hotel operates and runs when I stayed here in August. The location is in a somewhat sketchy neighborhood. I wouldn't recommend walking in this neighborhood, at night especially. This hotel is also undergoing renovations, which wasn't listed on the website when I booked and the front desk agent who assigned me to a room didn't mention it. It wasn't until I got off the elevator and smelled the paint and read signs about renovations when I was in the elevator that I learned they're undergoing renovations. I booked this hotel because it seemed like the most decent and modern hotel closest to Temple University, where I would be attending a conference. When I got settled in my room and was about to shower, I noticed there was what appeared to be gunk above the tub on the wall. I went downstairs and informed the front desk agent about it and he switched me to a different room with an upgraded city view. When I checked in to the second room, I immediately smelled a cigarette smoke scent. The "city view" was the back of a daycare or school building and playground. As I started to get settled I noticed an area if the tub was dirty and the fitted bed sheet had stains on it. I called the number on the room key card holder and was connected to someone working off-site and she communicated with front desk on my behalf about it. The end result was that I would he moved again to a different room and one that was selected by the manager. The third room was better, in the sense of I didn't have the same issues as the other rooms. But there aren't any "wow" factors about the units in general. The bedding wasn't that comfortable, the sponge in the kitchen looks like it hadn't been replaced in months, and there was a washing machine, but no drying machine. Also, all of the outlets were installed upside down. This hotel also just felt empty and vacant overall. I only saw two other guest's throughout my stay. Perhaps it might just be a slow season or quieter during weekdays. I left out to go to my conference and when I returned to my room, I noticed the window to the patio closest to the kitchen was open. Mind you, I didn't open any windows before leaving, so I was a bit concerned. I couldn't get it to close, so I went downstairs and asked the front desk agent if he could close it. He said he never closed one of the windows before and would try, and thankfully he was able to get it closed after a few tries. The next morning I went to the front desk and asked to speak with the manager and be compensated for one night for the inconvenience. The manager was in a meeting but followed up with me via email and informed he would be compensating one of my nights. I appreciate that he was responsive and granted the request, but the front desk staff should've been more attentive and took initiative to offer taking one night off of the bill or some other form of compensation and checking on how my stay was going the following morning -- and im saying this as someone who is a former hotel front desk agent. During my second night there, I got stuck on the elevator for a few minutes. I noticed the elevator wasn't moving to go downstairs and my key card wasn't working. I pressed the emergency call button and the call went to someone's voicemail. Thankfully, my phone still had service so I contacted concierge via the Mint app. By the time I got on the phone with someone, a guest from the first floor pressed the button to go up, so I was able to go downstairs, finally. The woman on the phone said she would still log that I got stuck on the elevator. Again, I appreciate the manager for following up with me, but I will not be staying here again and don't recommend staying here, not even if it would be more convenient in terms of location/access to train stations or being able to cook for your stay, especially considering the Aldi store next door isn't too great overall.

Stayed here with my husband as we were attending a show at the Met and decided to make a weekend out of it. We had a nice view facing the city. The room was spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. Upon arrival, the lobby is beautiful and the staff member who helped us check in was quick and friendly. We got multiple texts asking about our stay and if we needed anything. The location is okay, about a 10 minute walk to breweries and restaurants. Walking towards the Met is a little sketchy but I was still comfortable with it. The suggested parking on the website is too far, but we were able to find free street parking all weekend instead. During the day it is a little loud but since we don't live in a city it was kind of nice to hear, and at night it was just fine. We also didn't hear other guests or anything during our stay. The only thing I really noticed that could use improvement is the lack of fans, especially in the bathroom, and the bedroom seemed warm at first because it seems like the AC comes from the living area/kitchen but it did cool down and was comfortable after a little bit. Would definitely stay here again. Overall very cute hotel and pleasant stay!

I could not cause all the loud noise coming though the walls. Do not stay here at all

The lobby was beautiful the staff was amazing to work with. It was very clean and suite was spacious, and well stocked. We had a awesome stay it was walking distance from the Met. I will definitely go again.
