Peppino's Pizza

Peppino’s pizza had consistently been our favorite in Gainesville. We love the eggplant and Joe’s Favorite specialty pizzas. We also love the jalapeño poppers. However, a couple of recent slips have put me off. Most recently, our pizza was undercooked and soft in the middle. Another time some weeks before, I made an online order that I immediately (within 90 seconds) called to modify, to change from boneless to bone in wings and was told the cook had already started making the food and the order could not be changed. For a frequent customer with other great service experiences, both of these were disappointing.

Food smelt great, portions were plentiful but the quality was average and the prices were high....I tried the pasta, pizza, wings and cheesebread. The best thing was the pizza (5/10) and thats not sayimg much. Id rather have a Jacks frozen pizza or my own spaghetti.

The food is delicious! Also had a great service experience—When my delivery order arrived, it wasn’t the correct pasta. The person who answered the phone was incredibly kind and helpful, and they were nice enough to deliver the right pasta free of charge while allowing me to keep the first one. It was pleasantly surprising to be taken care of so well!

First time getting a slice here. Staff was friendly and pleasant, but the slice was small and really oily.

I had such a good review. This place was the spot to go to when I need that pizza fix. The slice to the sauce and cheese was good. I even suggested all my co workers. I also had the meat ball parm and the stuffed shells and my god they are back on track with the sauce and the consistency. It’s a must try

We had a small build your own pizza with 4 ingredients it was delicious. We had Italian sausage onion mushrooms and ricotta cheese. Crust was a little crusty on the bottom but yet soft and pliable to fold over. The toppings were very nice Italian sausage had zing mushrooms were cut nicely size and salt taste seem like in the onions were thin and scattered all around no clumps and ricotta oh little dollops here & there. 0it was simply delightfully delicious.

We order for pickup and the pizza is always hot, fresh out of the oven. Frankly, I'm always burning the roof of my mouth because I can't wait any longer. The smell in itself is just so comforting. I'm selective with my pizza and everyone has their presence but I absolutely love their cheese pizza. The sauce is slightly sweet and the crust has a nice bite to it. It's reminiscent of NY and I love that it's just not as sauced up like most pizzas. I also normally don't eat the crust when I get to the end of my pizza I know , I know it's unheard of but here I manage to eat the whole slice . They have certain deals in certain days and my bf asked for their menu so we could take it home for when we crave pizza again. On there we saw that they have deals for pizza and garlic knots, large pizza combo etc. They have an extensive menu with just about anything for anyone. I would love to come back and try their salads and perhaps pastas especially the lasagna was calling my name. We don't have many good pizza joints in Gainesville and I'm glad to have found one worth coming back to.

We ordered the “for a limited time” Sicilian pizza. 🍕 and we are so excited it might become a regular menu item. Thick crust pizza can be tricky because sometimes it isn’t cooked enough leaving the dough too raw and gummy. Peppinos Sicilian pizza was cooked beautifully. Oodles of mozzarella and generous amounts of their amazing sauce come together on the crust for the perfect bite. Please make this a regular menu item!

You can do no wrong ordering the pizza here. The crust is delicate, flavorful, always perfectly cooked, sauce is a dollop of heaven, cheese is quality. But, I recommend strongly the daring route: calzone! Stuffed to the rafters with wonder, the calzone crust is like a delicious doughy bread. I've taken to ordering a large--which is good for multiple meals. I particularly favor the vegetarian. Last time I ordered one, I ate half the first night, loosening my belt to make room for the glory that is a Peppino's calzone. The next night, I divided the remaining half with my wife for dinner--and was fully satisfied. Order the Peppino's calzone. Every other dish on the planet is simply a watery imitation of food after you have had the calzone. But beware: you may go on an all-calzone diet, which I do not recommend for your health.

Busy night after the Florida Football game.. We are out of state had no idea where to go for pizza. This place answered my phone call, was able to have pizza ready in 25 minutes. We went to pick up and staff was friendly and welcoming and though they were busy, chatted with us while we waited ( it is not a sit down place). Great staff and the pizza was amazingly good!! Thin crust heavy toppings.. Delicious!!!

Pepino's Pizza is definitely a must-try if you're in the mood for some tasty, authentic pizza! The crust is perfectly crispy with just the right amount of chewiness, and the toppings are always fresh and flavorful. My personal favorite is their classic Margherita; simple, but made to perfection. The cheese is rich, and the sauce has the perfect balance of tangy and sweet. I add basil , garlic & plum tomatoes to it . Only downside was that each topping $2.50 and it went from $15 to $25. I recommend just getting a slice because I have noticed a difference in the quality and prefer just getting one.

One of our favorite places to get our pizza from one of our top five in the Gainesville area. They always thank you after you pick up your order, and very appreciative of your business. Unfortunately, they just have a takeout counter. Love to see them have an actual restaurant in the area for sit down meals. Feels very NYC standing waiting for order.Sometimes You have to wait outside as there are so many people there to pick up orders. Like I said definitely worth checking out.

I did pickup and delivery. Both times were perfect. Friendly staff and fast delivery. Their Sicilian is delicious. Try extra cheese with half fresh garlic and half pepperoni & mushrooms.

Great NY style pizza in Gainesville. Friendly staff and quick service always. The tiramisu is also the best I've found in town!

Have ordered Joe's favorite for pick up 3 times in the last 3 weeks and it was ready in 15 minutes and delicious every time. Great to have an alternative to Satchel's Pizza on the west side of town.

Still the current front-runner for best Gainesville pizza. Kitchen crew here KNOWS what they are doing. Will give 'em five stars until pizza there suggests otherwise.

I've tried a couple pizzas here, but didn't think they were anything special. What I really like is the Italian Combo Sub. It's enough for 2 meals, but when they cut it, the two halves are sometimes unequal. Pretty fast service, but so much staff turnover you can't get to know anyone. On a nice day, you can eat outside on picnic tables with your dog.

Excellent chicken parm sub! Prices are great and portions are big. I just wish they add 2 more meatballs in their spaghetti and meatballs dish.

The margherita pizza is amazing! Nice people too. Everything else is just fine too but it's the margherita that steals the show.

Located in a small city but the food is packed with big town flavor. Highly recommended, hands-down will always stop by when in town.

Staff were super friendly! I was impressed that the bottom of the pizza was nice and crispy, which can be hard to achieve on a meat pizza without burning. The wings seemed a little undercooked or something, too chewy for my liking. Also, the mild was very mild and that says a lot since I don't do heat at all. A solid 3.5 stars and I will definitely give them another try, the menu is huge!

This is pizza? What a joke! The boy making the pizza was sooo arrogant and fought with me about the pizza. Stay away

I keep trying to find gainesvilles best meatball sub. Today I tried peppinos. It was certainly good, but I feel like it's not a ton of food. Like meatball subs have to be huge, right? It also cost like 11 bucks so I was expecting a bigger and more filled sub. Flavor was really good though

These were the best wings I have ever had. The crust on the pizza was amazing. Highly recommend.

Big Lous used to be my favorite place for that NY style pizza. With their closing I searched for a replacement and look no more! Pepino's offers fantastic pizzas with I'd say even better crust and toppings! I wish I had taken pictures of how good the pizza looked but I was too excited to dig in! Needless to say I'll be coming back because I still am aching to try their wings and garlic bread. If it does those right than this might be my favorite pizza place full stop! As of now please support these guys as they are making some seriously delicious pizza.

The pizza was ok but something was off. It had an odd flavor not sure if it was the crust. Maybe others like it I did not. Will not order pizza again from here but maybe other items.

Unfortunately second time here first time eat there outside second had it delivered.Crust not cooked all the way it said 45 min wait had it in less than 30.Not just their problem take out anything just about sucks anymore.

Pepinos is the pizza I've decided is my favorite in Gainesville. I'm not into fancy pizza, like V's or Midici, I just like tasty pizza. The sauce is on the sweeter side, it's not too smoky or herby like other pizza places. I also enjoy their salad and their garlic knots. Do it! Get Peppino's! You won't regret it.

Dine in only just FYI. The garlic knots are amazing sometimes we just get those!! The marinara is to die for. So good to dip the knots or pizza in. The antipasto salad is MASSIVE!! Easily feeds 2 for an appetizer and would suffice as a meal on its own. The house made Italian dressing is so good also. Good for salads (obv) and dipping. Definitely will go back (and have many times). The margarita pizza is definitely your best option. If you want it saucy, get a side of marinara. The cheese/regular pizzas are pretty good as well, but I prefer the margarita. Don't waste your time with some of the chains here. Support local and get better food! FYI: the containers for marinara and dressings are huge, so one per salad works out! No need to get extra unless you plan on saving it or eating with the pizza.

Delicious calzones and Alfredo pasta. Ordering is very quick and we look forward to trying other items on the menu.

Pizzas were delicious. Definitely the best pizza in Gainesville. It's not a place you can eat inside, meant for carry out or delivery.

This spot has some awesome pizza. Whether you grab a cheese pizza on Tuesday nights when they have their special, or a quick slice of pizza for a snack or meal. Pepperoni pizza is great, cheese pizza is great and the Buffalo chicken pizza is great too. Highly recommend :)

Best pizza and pasta in Gainesville. A true New York style pizzeria. Pizza is just want you are searching for, and the pasta portions are HUGE. Wings are also amazing and made in house. Workers are always friendly and quick with the food.

Best pizza and eggplant Parmesan in Gainesville, and it came with pasta. Even came out hot and bubbly. Yummm

Excellent pizza. Best NY style in town. Satchel's is excellent but the insane prices drove me to try new options, and Peppino's is at least as good, possibly better (hard to say without a back to back taste).

Those are not foldable slices it's more of a dry cracker type crust. Definitely not NY style which is the gold standard.The price is affordable but you get what you pay for.

Their pizza is fantastic! I think it's similar to Piesanos if I had to say a comparison. The garlic knots are good too- a little meatier then Piesanos and the dipping sauce of marinara is excellent! Joe's favorite pizza we tried last night and it was great - had bacon, onions, tomatoes and ricotta cheese. They also have many pasta type entrées. We tried lasagna last month and enjoyed it. The Greek salad had yummy roasted red peppers on it. Sadly no Greek dressing but the toppings were hearty. They have online ordering and even delivery - I like being able to give them a tip instead of another delivery service.

Not a good way to start a business or a trelation with new customer order the Tuesday special and was told it was 13.95 I ask why not the advertised 9.99 price was told it was after 5'it failed to mention on the brochure but it did say Tuesday night which according to them it was after 5 who decided that 5 is night I think is afternoon short discussion followed by me walking out and mentioning not a good way to start a business and losing a customer for less than $4 they decided that they would give it to me for that price at which I responded keep the pizza and your brochure owner followed me outside and tried to get me to buy the pizza once I say no is no I can not tell you the quality of the food for that you would have to rely on someone who actually ate it too bad they have eggplant parmigiana which is my favorite

Great pizza, garlic rolls, best Antipasta Salad in Gainesville! Huge & fresh! Delivery is wonderful. Food delivered hot & fresh. Edit: Spaghetti in meat sauce excellent! Edit #2: Lasagna terribly disappointing, heavy pasta & cheese layered, ? meat sauce - where's the beef? Good sauce but needs more meat like in the spaghetti meat sauce!

What a miserable experience. Pizza took about 2 hours to get here. We live 7 minutes away. The saddest mozzarella sticks I've ever seen. Basically the Walmart 1 dollar frozen stix you get. And it wasn't even fried enough to get melty! Everything was cold when it got here. The antipasta salad was just deli meat all rolled up on it self over some lettuce. I can't believe this place is so highly regarded. Paid 60 bucks for straight garbage.

A hidden gem in a small plaza on University Blvd could best describe: Peppino's Pizza & Pasta! Not from Gainesville area, visit Shands quite often Mom wanted Italian pasta, went to Yelp for suggestions seen the stars, hit directions & arrived to a very small walk-in & order food store front, they do have a few beautifully stained picnic tables to enjoy your food and the fall weather right there! Even though just a walk in store front, very friendly, fast home cooked Italian tasty, unbelievable portion size food comes out of there. Our choices were Baked Ziti & Eggplant Parmigiana comes with Garlic Knots and we ate there & still took home well over 2/3 of it, well worth the money also! While sitting there seen a lot of people picking up take out orders & chatted with a few & they raved also on there pizza & food!! Next time will be picking up a pizza to go also!! Search for 3731 W. University Blvd. Give Peppino's Pizza & Pasta a try!!!

Tried Peppino's for the first time recently and got delivered excellent pizza, garlic knots, and tiramisu with quick delivery ordering straight from restaurant website. Prices were reasonable too for the step above national pizza delivery companies. Next time I want pizza delivery, definitely ordering from them again.

The food was exceptionally delicious (pizza, garlic knots and Caesar salad) and the top notch customer service was the icing on the cake. I highly recommend this place!

Food was decent. I've heard rave reviews about this place so we decided to try pizza and bread sticks. It was "ok", I've had better but I've most certainly have had worse. I'm going to give them another shot because I have friends who love this place. Once I try again I'll give an update!

This is a takeout spot, didn't pay attention to that when I chose to eat here but it smelled fantastic so I ordered. Sooo glad I did, wonderful food and service, we'll be back!

In a strip mall. Easy in and out. No seating. Ordered Poppinos by the slice. (Can get whole pizza as well.). Took my first bite - all I could say is 'Oh, my!' Staff is great!! Do yourself a favor & pick up your next pizza here!!

I really did enjoy their pizza.They are my favorite ones in town. The service there is always great. And they always give them abundance of time to make sure that your food is correct.

Ordered the Buffalo pizza, pepperoni, and a large Stromboli. All were fantastic and even tasted better the next day.

The best Italian in Gainesville, in my opinion. I crave their pasta and meatballs and I usually don't like meatballs. I have never gotten a meal I didn't love from here. I highly recommend it!!!!

Really impressed! Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. The lasagna came w three garlic knots - tasty and not overly buttered. I was really surprised by how much flavor the pizza has. Delicious!

Peppino's is the best pizza parlor I have found in Florida. Coming from a Jersey Girl, that is a real compliment. The staff is friendly, too. My husband and I frequently enjoy a large pie with sausage, mushrooms and black olives From Peppino's.

I just had Peppino's for the first time and all I can say is.... WOW..... I'm originally from north eastern NJ where pizza is like air to us, I say that to say that we know good pizza when we taste it... Peppino's is all that and then some! If you're into QUALITY pizza 10/10 highly recommend Peppino's. Every bite will leaving you savoring for more everytime. Easily the most tasteful Pizza I've had in the 4 years I've lived in Florida.
