The place itself is very cute, and our waitress was extremely nice; however, the food did not meet expectations.
We visited on 01-14-26 and ordered the calamari, which was mostly breadcrumbs. The presentation was not appealing—it was piled on one side of the plate with the sauce underneath. The calamari was not very warm and lacked any crispness. I would not consider it truly “fried” at all.
We both ordered the gnocchi with steak. Unfortunately, the steak was overcooked and very chewy. The gnocchi had a wet, mushy texture—almost like a soggy noodle—and seemed blanched rather than properly prepared. While the brown butter wine sauce had good flavor, it did not make up for the rest of the dish, especially considering the price.
I ordered the wine paired with the dish, Ridge Three Valleys Zinfandel, which was very good and honestly my favorite part of the meal. My other half ordered a glass of Very Olde St. Nick Harvest Rye whiskey, which was much smaller than expected. It was essentially a shot, and for the price, the pour was disappointing. We both love whiskey and have experience with it, but this one had no bite, tasted watered down, and was nothing like we expected.
We have both worked in kitchens for years, so we are understanding customers. However, after spending over $100, this experience was a huge disappointment.
