"We like Buckhead Village's Planta Queen much better than the original Planta in Krog because it dials up the flavor—concentrating on dishes from across Asia—and the fun. You’ll drink yuzu-watermelon sake punch out of a cat-shaped glass under neon lights, and eat vegan sushi rolls that are decent spins on the real things. "Planta's premise feels a bit like a dare: sushi, minus the fish. And they pull it off so well you won't even miss the pescatarian element. The brand's NoMad location feels palatial for New York City, with high-ceilinged dining areas, moody lighting, and good conversation filling both of its floors. The “torched and pressed,” a deceptively simple roll made of avocado glazed with a miso truffle sauce and kissed by a blow torch, is nutty, sweet, and has a mouth-coating richness. If you're craving more than rolls and nigiri, the bang-bang broccoli, Japanese “steak,” and Singapore noodles are sure to leave you satisfied. Within the city, Planta also has two other locations in Williamsburg that serve burgers, pastas, pizzas, and other American comfort classics, all vegan."

Planta Cocina's glitzy space is right on the Marina Del Rey boardwalk, and it feels like the West Coast version of the Versace mansion.
