"Last night got a little wild and you ended up doing a late-night shot of something that was light blue and glow-in-the-dark. Time to give back to your body (and the world at large) and go to Little Pine. The all-vegan, Moby-owned Silver Lake spot where all proceeds go to animal welfare organizations is as Eastside as it gets, but the food here is pretty good. "While Little Pine is one of the better vegan/vegetarian spots on the Eastside, its quiet Silver Lake location isn’t exactly a party. But your antisocial co-worker mentioned he doesn’t do loud noises, so your forced-team-bonding outing has been solved. The spot steers clear from the it’s-not-meat-it’s-tempeh route and sticks mainly to good vegetables. "When this Moby-owned vegan restaurant - where 100% of profits go to animal rights organizations - opened in 2015, it quickly became the most Silver Lake restaurant in all of Silver Lake. And after a few years of operation, it still owns that title. But it also owns the title of being a very solid and unpretentious vegan restaurant. The all-white space feels like your roommate’s Etsy page, but in a way that’s tolerable and actually nice to look at. Everything on the menu falls under $17." - brant cox
