Came here right when they opened on a Friday. The place had a cool vibe and we posted up in the front looking out over the street...great people watching. The staff was super friendly and made really good drinks. They had games set up all over too. The back porch patio was really cool as well, this is a great hangout on Rainey St.!

We hosted a company party here with 200 people. Jana, the event coordinator, was very helpful, organized and quick to respond to all of my questions and emails. She provided great catering options. The whole process was smooth. We had cold rainy weather on the day of the event and we were able to stay warm with the heated covered side deck and with heat lamps on the back patio. We were even able to fit the band inside along w the catering. Everyone was still able to hang out comfortably. Would definitely recommend for events.

Everything was great vibe was right but I wish there was a fog machine- it really would have been the icing on the fire playlist.. dj had everyone on the turf and people were doing very impressive party tricks too. I saw one guy do a full straddle. 10/10 recommend.

They do make great drinks here; the bartenders are well versed in the craft, and I could not imagine getting a mediocre old fashioned. A very chill environment combined with great service makes this an ideal place to hang out and enjoy the energy of the neighborhood. Cheers!

Worst bar on Rainey. They serve low quality liquor for high quality liquor prices and the music here is played at an ungodly volume to the point that it even makes enjoying neighboring bars difficult. Avoid this spot at all costs.

They fill higher end bottles with cheaper goods!!!!! Ordered 2 Crown Royal on the rocks and 2 waters from the back bar. The cost was $20…this should have been my alert that it was not Crown Royal. Yes I physically watch the bartender pour directly from the bottle. We drink Crown on the rocks nearly every day there is not disputing that it was switched.

The Parlor Room is one of the few historic homes that remains on Rainey, and every time I come, it just makes me want the Old Rainey back! As expected, the interior is small, but the real party is in the backyard where there's plenty of room to dance! There are two bars (one inside & out), but the bar in the back offers a faster service than the cramped bar inside. The space is full of cozy corners, perfect for hanging out with a lively scene in the background. While the music was better when Rainey was in its prime, The Parlor Room still has a lot to offer for those seeking a fun atmosphere.

Awesome vibes, Stevie Vaughan themed bar. It makes you feel like you are at a friend's backyard/ house college party. Loved the live rock music outside, basically why you visit Austin. Dance music inside, - great combination so you can switch between the two scenes as you please!

I came here the last 3 weeks with my girlfriends. The first time we came here my friend felt very strange/tired that night and sick all next day. We figured someone might have drugged her drink, which was strange because we all sat outside gathered together and nobody bothered us. This last time we went (the other night) I felt the same way too, and spent the next morning puking shit up when I only had 2 drinks, which is absolutely fucking crazy because nobody touched my drink but me and the bartender, who's name was Jake or john or something like that. I carried my drink to the bathroom with me to make sure nothing happened. I never post reviews like this, but this a little insane frequency on all this. we didnt go ANYWHERE else!! I dunno how to report this to the authorities but I'll be looking into it. def not returning.

Great spot to have some drinks outdoors, with a front, side, and back patio area. One of their cocktails (gin, lemon, etc.) was alright, but the whiskey peached buck (sp?) was fairly mediocre for a "cocktail" in the $14-15 price range. Seems like a hit or miss in the cocktail variety. I like that they had live music playing out front with some good cover music!

Second visit on my visit down Rainey Street. This place wasn't as good as my first stop, Clive, however, the alcohol selection was much better. We grabbed a few shots here and made our way to the back area. They had a live DJ in the back where most folks were dancing. This place seemed to have a couple private areas where you could do table service. The crowd was mostly twenty something here, but the crowd didn't seem as lively here and the music was just okay.

Every time I come to the Parlor Room I always look for Jake as my bartender. He is so attentive and friendly. Dude never disappoints on the drinks! Will always bring my out of town friends!

Spent New Year's Eve here and had a wonderful experience! Very fun bartenders who quickly got through the line as well as clean bathrooms. Dj kept the vibes going all night long! Glad we chose to spend the night here

Parlor Room had a cute atmosphere which made for a really fun environment! They had a "2 Drink Order Minimum" rule when ordering at the bar which was pretty bizarre. My friend and I got the prickly pear margaritas and enjoyed them. They had some festive decorations up for Christmas too.

Great drinks, good service, and lots of excellent ventilation and fans. Would recommend

By far the best DJ on the street. We loved the atmosphere and the servers were really nice. We went to a few bars on Rainey and this was the best. We will be back for sure and highly recomend this establishment.

I'll vouch for what Katie B says. The crowd is a bit on the younger side (Wow, I remember when *I* was the one who felt young on Rainey Street 10 years ago.) But we Golden Girls gotta get our dance on every now and then, and this house party atmosphere is my kind of jam. Bartenders are pretty cool. They have a small selection of unique tequilas. Good cocktails. A great DJ on those dance party nights playing a mix of tunes from Selena to 90s hip hop.

This place is fun. It has a great layout and you can either just chill or play games in the back. The bartenders are cool and the people watching can't be beat. They have a pretty good selection of beers and my wife has a go-to in White Claw Seltzer which is common here. The bartender asked me what I liked and I gave her a few of my favorites brands and she nailed it with here suggestion to try one of the local beers. Rainey is a mixed-bag. I have been coming here since it first starting taking off and it has evolved into something pretty big. With that growth comes some pain. It can be fun in some places and a toilet in others. The Parlor Room is one of the good ones though. I would say it gives the flavor of the whole area without any of the bad parts which is not easy with Rainey Street.

This was a pretty cool place was a nice back area for some games and photo ops. I only wished the outdoor bar was lit better. It was so dark I couldn't see what beer was offered. My friend had to read the taps to me (lol) and I wasn't totally thrilled with the choices. A fun place nonetheless that's great for groups.

A lot of seating and outdoor bar games, classic Jenga. They had good music playing. Nice bar to hangout outside and people watch with a drink.

Five stars for ambiance, live jazz, & venue! The drinks are a bit pricey, but one cocktail won't kill you! They offer brunch/lunch items also! The jazz band was fantastic - very chill & relaxing. This is one of my new favorite bars in Austin! The bar out back has some indoor seating, but all of the seating is outdoor. Some seats are open to the sun, some are patio covered, and some are shaded by the trees!

Not for a girls night out!!!!! Weird crowd. Lots of creepy guys. The DJ didn't take requests, which was disappointing considering his set was very...OK, but definitely nothing special. The staff working the dance floor was also SUPER creepy!!! The guys working here all gave off "incel" vibes, and set a gross tone for the whole bar. If u r a group of young women out for a fun night, I DO NOT recommend this place.

Favorite place on the street. Best music by far, easiest to social distance and enjoy, has a great room inside for photos, tvs to enjoy a game, and great drinks (just be sure to clarify what the well drink is specifically). One night that we came here, there was hip hop and latinx music and it was the best mix! Overall, this is my personal favorite bar to come chill at with friends and enjoy great music.

I was pretty underwhelmed by the first bar I visited on Rainy Street; so much so that I was questioning my friend's expertise in her own city. Rainy Street is probably one of the coolest bar scenes in America, but you wouldn't know that if you only hit Parlor Room. On the outside, it's housed in the same quaint kitschy style home that all the other bars are located in. They offer the indoor/outdoor seating arrangement as well. My friend and I made it inside and found a very interesting cocktail menu listed above the bar. Unfortunately, they seemed to be out of a different item for the two cocktails I wanted to try. I sadly settled for a rum & sprite and we headed onto the outside. We sat at one of the tables in the front lawn to enjoy the weather. We were visiting on a Wednesday, so we luckily did not have to fight for a seat or pass through a throng of young drunks. Unfortunately, we did find that even on the slow night, the skeeves come out. We were so uncomfortable by the unwanted attention from two older gentlemen that we left after one drink. I don't think this is necessarily anyone that works here's fault, or the bar in general, but it definitely puts a damper on my rating that out of all the bars we hit on Rainy Street, this was the one where we had this type of experience. And again, this is on a Wednesday. I can't imagine how difficult it must be to a woman in this place on a weekend. For all the bars and lounges you can hit on Rainy, I suggest passing on this one. The awkward encounters combined with the ill-stocked bar is not worth the experience.

Located on the bustling Rainey Street! This house caught our eye with their cute patio set up in the front. Great drinks, dance floor with a bumpin' DJ, & great vibes. Awesome place to unwind with a drink, or 4, & they also have board games in their back patio.

Wow what a place. Games for grownups, good bourbon dancing . And guys in sleeveless shirts lol how it was a great night!!! So many good things to say about this bar. Clean restrooms!!! Actually they need to clean off their sticky beanbags

either this place is fairly new (only 74 reviews since this post), or people in austin don't really write yelp reviews. lol. Came here on a sunday, and it was fairly packed. it was our last day, and we bought all of our luggage here to chill before the flight back home. We were waiting in the hallway that connects the front to the back. We wanted to hang out in the back and play cornhole, but it was really packed and difficult to find seats. They have a decent selection of beers and some mixed cocktails. I believe they have a drink called the ray gun, which was their take on the incredible hulk. (hennessy + hypnotic). The drinks aren't too expensive. They were grilling hotdogs and giving them out for free, which was pretty cool... They have a few seats in the front to chill and play games.

I'm prob senior citizen status if we took a poll of ages in the room on any of their popular nights with a DJ, but I don't care. I will shimmy and shake until I can't no mo and Parlor Room is the dancehall of my choice in ATX thus far. I've always had pleasant interactions with the staff, whether they are slammed or not. I've been on a pretty dead evening and it loses its luster a little when the room in the front isn't bumpin', but still a solid place to grab a drink with a patio that wraps all around the bungalow. Photobooth inside and bathrooms are always clean-ish.

Visiting for Thanksgiving break. Gone to several walk up clubs. This was the best yet. The DJ kept the party going. Music played from back to the 90's. I had so much fun!

Decent place to stop and have a drink on a Saturday night or Sunday afternoon. On Saturday they had a dj spinning. There is room to dance inside, as well as seating outside. There is an inside and outside bar. In the back they have games- corn hole and Jenga. Service was so-so, but a good place to get the night started.

This place was poppin'! Came here on a Friday night in 40 degree weather and people still came out to play. The DJ lured us in with Selena's throwbacks then played all the Hip-Hop and Pop bangers. Loved that I could come in here with a beanie, sweats, and Nike shoes. The main area inside gets a bit cramped but you can still hear the music in the big patio outside. This place attracted a very diverse crowed at all ages! Small world but I met a handful of people visiting from the LA area. Don't be fooled by the 3 stars, Parlor Room is where it is at. Note the place is towards the end of Rainey so make sure you make your way here! This place is everything I want to avoid in life. Aside from being a petrie dish for covid and whatever else, the people working there aren't even nice. I ventured in to actually visit the food truck out back, and while I waited for my dinner I ordered an overpriced margarita. The bartender failed to mention their credit card system was down, and since no one has carried cash in a year because no one takes it, I - surprise! - had none. The bartender gave me an attitude, but yet still gave me the drink for free. (Which was mostly ice and maybe something passing for tequila.) Being a decent person, I got some cash and offered to pay for it. Mr. Personality informed me he had already written off the drink but I could "give him my money." I paid for the drink anyway, which I guess became his tip. Here's a better tip: mention the credit card issue up front and curb your attitude. Thankfully, I wouldn't return here if it was mandatory. It would be a really great place to catch the rona though. Party on, children!

It was a windy night on Rainey St and I found refuge in the Parlor Room. They have a large outdoor space you can enjoy as well but I was inside dancing in the small side (what would have been) an office room the whole night. The outdoor space has cute lights and a giant Connect Four game you can play. The space looks like a house with the bar being in the "living room" space at the entrance. I had some tequila here and had a good time because their music was so much hipper/current and less played out than the Container Bar down the street (that was playing 2006 Usher, Lil' John hits the entire time). There was a good ratio of men/women here and a range of patrons of different ages so I thought the space was diverse and inviting.

Nice vintage bar. Bartender is awesome friendly and knowledgeable . This is a cool spot that I recommended all who is visiting and or looking for a fun or unique bar. Outside and inside is a nice set up

Visited Parlor Room twice during a recent trip to Austin - once on a Friday during happy hour and again during Sunday Funday. Friday was more quiet, but my boyfriend and I grabbed drinks and played cornhole with a couple we met. Sunday was definitely more busy, but this was one of the quieter bars on Rainey Street. We grabbed special price vodka lemonade drinks which were really good - they use a lemonade mix (I think?) so drinks were not as sweet but still tasty.

Came to parlor room for some drinks and Timary took care of us. She was so polite and attentive and a great vibe! If you some come here ask for timary and she'll take care of you and make your experience so much better!!

The latest addition to the Rainey Street bar scene, Parlor Room is squeezed between The Blackheart and L'Estelle House. It has the same general layout of every other bar on Rainey with both indoor and outdoor bars and patio seating around its perimeter. They offer the usual selection of local beers on tap and a cocktail menu. Draft beers are in the $5-6 range (Austin Eastciders Original cider is $5.50). The "Drink Up" sign in the backyard is going to be quite the Instagram hit. Get your picture taken with it before it stops being cool. I love the contrast between the yellow front door and the blue siding.

Definitely came around on Parlor Room. Best DJ on the block and only one with more than Fire Eagle for an IPA. Beers about $7-8 but well worth it if you got a good vibe. Not a good spot if it's cold outside, but if weather's nice, this is the place to day drink. Poke food truck out back looks solid as well, and might be reason enough to come back. And of course a few TVs which I always hand out a plus.

Good vibes, live music & prosecco on tap! I'm not usually one to order prosecco, but when you're traveling and in need of hair-of-the-dog from too many nights out on vacation, a mimosa is a lifesaver! :) Some of the reviews mention a young crowd & a club atmosphere, but I think that really depends on the night you come here. When I visited over the holidays, it was a Thursday night and the crowd was older. The band that night was playing rock standards from the 90s and 2000s, like Sublime covers. Even after the band ended, which was pretty late, they played classic pop from the 2000s which was fun -- like old Eminem & Ja Rule songs you haven't thought about for 15 years. Again, it was an older crowd that night, so everyone was pretty chill. The band played outside, and there was plenty of room to stand without feeling too crowded. There were tables, chairs and barstools too, but we didn't show up early enough to snag a seat. It was a bit freezing that night, so they had the heat lamps going. The drinks here are good, and they have a special menu with customized drinks. Our bartender was super friendly too. The bar & bathrooms were also very clean, which is always a plus in my book. If you're touring Rainey Street, I recommend stopping by here for a drink!

Another stop in the Austin trip and had some texas whisky here. Nice area to sit on the outside and nice bartender. Didn't get to try all the drinks, but overall, the texas whisky we had (a blue something) was strong and tasty.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR PHONE TO BE THROWN TO THE GROUND BY THEIR STAFF!!!!!!!!!! Trying to let people know the experience that my brother went through at this place and the administration keeps on blocking me. This just demonstrate how far they go in order to avoid people from telling the kind of service they provide. Austin is such a cool and unique city for staff like this to ruin that kind of environment!

Drinks are ok so long as you're not picky on how you plan on getting shmashed. The Parlor Room doesn't really stand out--we've stopped in twice and each time we've never found any reason to linger. The bar is really dark. Perfect space for mosquitoes so DO NOT forget the bug spray. I've lost a decent amount of blood to the buggers residing in the Parlor Room.

Great fan in the back area toward the left. Gotta be right in front if it though. Came here for a birthday.

Last night I was leaving and a man grabbed my ass in front of the bouncer, after he had been talking to him for 10 minutes. I asked if he was going to do anything about it and he said no. Ladies, do not go here. You will not be protected by the staff. The long hair guy checking IDs would rather let his friends touch you than have human decency.

Pros: cool atmosphere. Plenty of seating. Plenty of drink options. Cons: very young drunk crowd. Service was slow. No public Wi-Fi. We are early 30s and were definitely the oldest people here- weird.

This is a cool spot to check out. The service was fast and friendly. They have inside and outside bar. The atmosphere was fun and they had good music playing. The crowd was young and they did have some young hot heads in the front entrance fighting. Other then that we did have a nice time. They do have TVs outside to keep up with the games. Gotta watch my Dodgers in the playoffs!

Nice ambience for casual drinks on Rainey street. The music is great to get the night going! However, I'm giving a poor rating bc the server has a major attitude..really kills the mood of the place. Solid place to hang out on a Sunday afternoon. Friendly staff, fair prices on drinks, live music. What more could you want? The only thing really, ladies, I'd suggest you use the restroom before you get here..... both times I went into the bathroom, the toilets were clogged (all of them)... No one had bothered to change out toilet paper or paper towels..... So come with an empty bladder. And really, I can get over the whole dirt bathroom thing (I'm lying, it was gross).... they can do better. The staff was awesome except for one girl behind the bar who kept rolling her eyes at customers. Suck it up.... don't like your job? Quit!

I was suuuper bummed by this spot. Visiting from out of town, my boyfriend and I were told that Rainey Street was the great place to get the bar experience in Austin. We drove down it during the day and it was SO cute, all of these houses and cool buildings turned into bars. The Parlor room was out first stop...it was less of a cool, hip bar and more of a club. There were flashing lights and hella loud music. We decided to order a drink and enjoy the outside scenery since there was ample seating. I ordered a fire water cocktail and looked on in awe as our bartender filled up a pint glass just about half way with tequila and then poured whatever else in there too. That was it- that was my cocktail. And I'm a lady so I am never one to turn down some tequila but this was just not good- I maybe drank half and we left. This is a decent bar for maybe your very early 20s, before you know what a craft cocktail and pleasant experience is.
