The atmosphere was charming, the staff was great, the food was fantastic, and this place even had great customers! When my wife and I arrived, so did another large party that could not be seated right away, so a small family insisted they would leave so the larger family could be seated. Now WOW, this food was REALLY good. For whatever reason the quality was such a surprise! We couldn't wait to recognize this place and really kept thinking this was the type of place to explode in popularity because someone popular online makes a video here or they end up on TV somehow. Anyway, they will be VERY popular soon. For all the right stuff. Beef satay, chicken padang, fried garlic chicken, and egg rolls. We'll be back for everything else!

Google
A 5-star rated eatery? Friendly staff and cute decor did not make up for the average meal. It is nicely decorated, so I had high hopes. The laksa tasted lukewarm and the noodles were slightly undercooked as a result. Imagine trying to gather stiff noodles into your soup ladle. Meh! Was this an “off” day? The soup base was tasty, but watered down. Is this leftover soup? The big prawns looked promising, but had shells. Have you tried to de-shell jumbo prawns in a bowl of lukewarm soup? It was disappointing splattery sadness. The chicken dish was okay. Thank goodness. I wish Barzar Eatery was as good as its past reviews, but sadly…not my experience. I tried.

The beef rendang was incredible, as was the sauce with the chicken satay. The staff were lovely and we had a good table for chatting. The noodles were so flavorful, great spice level!

Google
Wonderful experience. One of the best customer service yet that I have experienced. Food was great and workers there are friendly and accommodating. We ordered several dishes and each one was fantastic. Will be back again next time we are at Vacaville. Mahalo!

We were on the way back from a ski trip, and we stopped by after a friend recommended this place. They serve very authentic Indonesian, Singaporean and Malaysian food. Everything we ordered was so tasty and it exceeded our expectations. The owner is super friendly and the service was great. We would definitely come back.

Absolutely amazing! Not to be missed! Food delicious - the tripe noodles were boss! Service excellent! Decorations fun, like tudor royal cat portraits!

Google
Yummy Indonesian food! Very flavorful and with good ingredients. We ordered the soto ayam, seafood laksa, and chicken rendang, and they were all great. For those folks from Singapore/Malaysia/Indonesia, I would say the food may not be exactly 💯 like you expect from back home, but I still think it's a great place to go since the food is delicious regardless. The restaurant is very comfortable and nicely decorated, and the owner is super nice also.

We have been here many times because all the dishes are absolutely delicious. The staffs are very friendly and accommodating too.

Yelp
Some of the best food I've ever had in my life, no hyperbole. We had the beef rendang, noodles with tripe, and pork satay. Wow, the flavors were absolutely amazing. The beef rendang was tender and tons of flavor, even just the rice. Satay came with the amazing peanut sauce. The noodles with tripe had shrimp paste in it, which gave it a seafood flavor, but not overwhelming. I'm always a little wary of shrimp paste because its sometimes too strong for me, but theirs is perfect. This might be the best noodle dish I've ever had. Every dish was a 10/10.

Yelp
One of my favorite places for Southeast Asian food in the bay. My husband and I have been here many times, and each time the food and service is amazing. I'm from Singapore and crave some comfort food. We've tried the Mee Goreng, Laksa, Soto Ayam, Rendang, the fried garlic chickeb... all delicious! They also serve shrimp chips while waiting. And the homemade sambal is delicious!! The owners and service there is always super friendly and top-notch, and are always so nice and generous about giving more sambal, shrimp chips, etc.

Yelp
In the city of Winters, CA where there's plenty of American restaurants, sometimes you're craving something with a curry gravy. This unassuming restaurant on the side of an Asian grocery store is a diamond in the rough. I had the curry chicken with rice and my bf had their chicken noodle soup. The curry chicken was so flavorful with the spices. The dish that blew me away were their satay skewers (chicken/beef/lamb), a must order!! The iced coffee is also very good, strong and creamy. Ample parking, friendly service, come check it out!

Yelp
I arrived close to closing @230pm so I didn't wait long for a table ( approximately 10tables). But after I received my dishes, I can see the place easily filling up! Food was tasty, fresh and well portioned! I ordered the follow dishes: 1)Shrimp Laksa (Malaysian), coconut broth w/ spices was so comforting w/ generous amount of prawns ( w/head. 2) Mee-Goreng (Singaporean) w/ the shrimp-paste and sweet -savory soy sauce taste and w/ bit of spicy made the noodle experience so satisfying! 3) Beef Rendang ( Malaysian) rich and creamy beef stew! Meat was tender and enjoyed it w/ white rice ( arrived too late for tumeric rice ). Overall first -experience: Staff were friendly and efficient; always checking-in. It's cozy and comfortable dine-in made eating a Malaysian ( and SouthEast Asian) cuisine quite memorable.

Yelp
Having grown up in Indonesia, I have a high standard when it comes to Indonesian food. It's not often that I find dishes in restaurants that truly compare to what I enjoyed back home. That's why I was pleasantly surprised by the food at this restaurant--it was delicious. We started with complimentary prawn chips. While the texture was a bit unusual--denser and grittier than the light, airy chips I'm used to--the flavor was still spot on. We also ordered the pangsit goreng, which was just okay. I wasn't a fan of the subtle curry flavor in the filling--it didn't quite work for me. For my main entrée, I ordered the seafood laksa which came with thin rice noodles, and it completely exceeded my expectations. The shrimp coconut broth was rich, flavorful, and had just the right amount of spice. The bowl included three jumbo prawns, which were tasty but still had their shells on, making it a bit inconvenient to peel them. It also came with fish cakes and tofu puffs, which added great texture and variety. Overall, this noodle soup was absolutely delicious--I would 100% order it again next time I'm in the area. The service was excellent. The staff were friendly, and although I'd heard that service here can be slow, that wasn't our experience--our food arrived fairly quickly. The ambiance was another highlight. The restaurant was fully air-conditioned, which was perfect on a hot day like today. Inside, it was clean, well-maintained, and had a tidy, welcoming feel.

Yelp
Came here after a day trip in Davis, and was fortunate to get a seat right away. The restaurant space is small, so I saw that seating filled up quickly. Service was great, and the owner is a friendly lady who runs the whole show. You get complimentary shrimp chips upon seating, and I tried the Laksa and Beef Rendang. The Beef Rendang was very flavorful and the turmeric rice is a must-have. I did notice they ran out and had to serve white rice later on, so go there early. The laksa was also good with a bit of spice, so be aware of that. Overall a decent place if you're in the area and craving Southeast Asian food.

Yelp
Wow!! This restaurant has been open for a bit. We saw the rave reviews and decided to finally try it. It's AMAZING! While the dishes are things we are unfamiliar with, we are familiar with delicious food. There is a lady who has been there both times for our visits. She is a real sweetie. She has treated us like VIPs and has spent time talking to families with little kids making everyone feel welcome. The food. My goodness. It is really something special. We've been twice and have tried different things. Both times, we have been delighted by our selections. I think vegetarians could find plenty to eat here. I can't remember everything we have eaten there. I remember trying Beef Rendang, Hainanese Chicken, Shrimp Fried Rice and Veggie Stir Fry. I think there is something there for everyone. If you are adventurous, you must try this place. Truly unique! We've eaten at the restaurant twice. Though it looks like you order at the counter, if you want to eat in, the lady will come take your order at the table. It's been busy each visit, but there is plenty of seating and we have never had to wait. Cute decor, delicious food and attentive service!

Yelp
There are not too many authentic Malaysia food nearby, Barzar Eatery is an outstanding restaurant. This was the first time we tried there despite they opened for 2 years. We tried a few of their popular items- satay, rendang chicken and laksa. They were all very delicious. All items were little spicy tho so be prepared for that. They also gave us complimentary shrimp chips! Yum. I love the chicken dishes since the chicken were tender and juicy. Laksa was good portion with seafood like shrimps, clam, fish cake, quail eggs, tofu! The soup tasted so good!!! Will definitely go back to try more dishes.

Yelp
Barzar Eatery was an unexpected hit I discovered during a recent visit to Vacaville this past Friday. Usually, when I venture this far out from the Bay Area, I assume the options for good Asian food will be limited. However, Barzar completely proved me wrong in the best way possible. My wife and I stopped by for dinner close to when they were closing and the restaurant was still incredibly busy. We waited around at the counter waiting to be seated, but as a few other reviewers have noted, it looks like you seat yourself and order directly from the QR code on the table. We ended up ordering two appetizers and a main dish to share. This was my first time trying pangsit goreng--Indonesian fried dumplings filled with beef. Each piece was beautifully wrapped, and the outer shell had a satisfying crunch. While the beef filling looked like it might be dry, it was actually moist and flavorful, with a strong savory onion profile that really stood out. The other appetizer we tried--the chicken satay--was easily one of the best versions I've had. It tasted like they used chicken thighs, which made the meat especially tender. The cook was spot-on: the chicken slid off the skewers effortlessly. The peanut sauce was thick and nutty, with just the right amount of richness. I liked it so much I ended up spooning it over rice later that evening. For our entree, we went with the Hainanese chicken, and it's honestly one of the best preparations I've had anywhere. The chicken was incredibly soft and perfectly chilled, just as it should be. The ginger scallion sauce paired beautifully with it. My only small critique is that the rice was a touch dry, but the turmeric flavor was excellent, and I loved the crunchy peanuts served alongside. If you're in this part of Vacaville, I would highly recommending stopping by Barzar Eatery for a delicious meal.

Yelp
Heard great things about Barzar so had to come try it out. They give complimentary shrimp chips, which was one of my favorite snacks as a kid. Chicken satay: B Tender chicken, skewered and well seasoned. Love the peanut sauce it's served with. Beef rendang: A Amazing beef curry! The meat is tender and absorbs the flavor of the sauce quite well. Very savory and slightly sweet. The turmeric rice tastes fantastic and has crispy garlic chips on top. Loved this dish. Mi goreng: A- Indonesian version of stir fried noodles. Slightly spicy and sweet. This one tasted pretty good and you get a good portion for the price.

Yelp
Stopped by during the weekend for lunch here with my boyfriend. You seat yourself and can order either through QR code scanning at each table or through the waitress. We did not know about the QR code option, so we waited around until the waitress at the time let us know! What we got: chicken satay (5/5) -- smoky, savory, juicy pieces of chicken with spicy peanut sauce. I tried the peanut sauce on its own and coughed instantly, so eat it only if you think you can handle the heat laksa (5/5) -- wow this our first time trying laksa and I was so excited after seeing it featured on food travel shows like Andrew Zimmern, Anthony Bourdain, etc. and this did not disappoint. It is aromatic, spicy, sweet, and umami altogether. All of the seafood (it came with A LOT) were perfectly cooked and we loved the textures contributed by every component. Near the end, the soup was getting a bit too spicy, but it is so addictive and definitely one of the most flavorful noodle soups I have ever had beef nasi goreng (5/5) -- very mellow curry flavor, caramelized ground beef bits, and raw green onions to cut through the heaviness. This worked great as a standalone dish. Better to get if you are more sensitive to spicy foods but still seek some curry flavor The service here is incredible, food is well worth the prices, and I look forward to returning whenever I am going to or passing by Vacaville!!

Great food, great, Service. Super friendly! Fast. Definitely worth giving his place to dry if you have not tried it yet.

Yelp
I was so excited when my friend told me about a restaurant in Vacaville serving Singaporean food. My friend and I made the trek out there to check it out. On our first visit, we ordered the eggrolls, beef rendang and the sayur campur (eggplant in shrimp paste). They give you shrimp chips to start your meal. I LOVE shrimp chips. The eggrolls were pretty standard but they serve it with a lime juice and garlic dip. I was fan of the dip. Our beef rendang was nice and tender and hit the spot. I've a similar dish to the sauy campur before with either okra or green beans. In their verson, the shrimp paste was over powering and there was more cabbage than eggplant. On our next visit, we got the satay beef, laksa, nasi goreng fried rice, and fried chicken. We could barely eat the laksa because it was too spicy for us. We don't usually eat spicy food so this may not be so hot for others. Extra points for the amount of seafood they put in the soup. The satay was tender and perfectly seasoned. However, the stars of our meal were the fried chicken and the nasi goreng fried rice. I'm glad our server talked us out of the soto ayum and recommended this instead. The deep fried chicken was heavenly. The nasi goreng had a smoky spice that builds gradually. I would drive to Fairfield just for these 2 items alone. Service has been so gracious and kind during both our visits. It made us feel welcomed. The owner was at the front was always around to refill drinks or see how our meal was. Barzar is located in a strip mall with plenty of parking. It gets busy for the lunch crowd. It's a small restaurant so I suggest getting there early for lunch. While my overall experience was good, I don't think I would make a trip there just for restaurant. However, if I was in the area, I would definitely stop by.

Yelp
I didn't get any pics unfortunately. I don't like to give bad reviews but want to be honest. When I walked in I immediately lost my appetite. It smelled like when I was younger and had a hamster that needed its bedding changed after a week or so. I tried to keep an open mind and went ahead and ordered. The beef satay was good. The wontons were so so. My husband ordered the beef stir fry and received octopus and it was not great. I ordered the shrimp fried rice and it was so fishy I couldn't eat it. I drowned it in soy sauce and it was edible. Unfortunately we will not be back.

Yelp
Who knew such good Indonesian food would just exist in Vacaville?! We tried the beef tripe mee goreng, pork skewers, tumeric rice, beef soto madura, a shrimp dish, and the seafood salad. Everything was good; no complaints. The complementary shrimp chip and sambal appetizer was also a pleasant surprise! If you don't mind spice and your savory dishes to have a dash of sweet, would recommend!

Yelp
Always a delight eating here. I've brought or introduced a lot of people here and everyone likes them! My go-to entrees are their Hainanese chicken or shrimp nasi goreng. For appetizers, you can't go wrong with their lamb satay and pangsit goreng. I've also had both their beef and chicken rendang, and mee-goreng. Quick service and always clean! Oh and you get a complimentary shrimp chips if you order any of their entrees. One of my favorite go-to places for comfort Southeast Asian food!

Abe T.

Yelp
Omg I thought customer service was dead in Vacaville, but this tiny restaurant is upholding it. The Asian lady who i assume was the owner was the most polite and courteous person ever! She even gave me complimentary shrimp chips and chili sauce. Highly recommend you try their muscles.
google avatar

Esther C.

Yelp
Beautiful interior. Very clean. Love the black and matte silverware and plates The shrimp chips were the best I think I've ever had. My husband and I had laksa. It was super coconut-y and rich. I love the seafood variety. Super perfect food for the cold weather. I plan to come back and try their other dishes.

Yelp
What a fun experience! We have never had Malaysian/Indonesian food before. This was such a treat! We had no idea what to order and just winged it. We ended up happy with all of our choices. Shrimp chips with housemate chili sauce (free appetizer): these were delicious! Light, crunchy, and the chili sauce was fruity, smoky, and spicy! Delightful! Beef rendang: our favorite of the meal. Smoky, sweet, and tender beef with a sweet and savory sauce. The saffron rice was wonderful, too. Very homey comfort food. Mee-goreng shrimp: the most unique thing we had. The noodles were chewy and flavorful and the veggies were crisp. We had fresh chile peppers in the dish that that gave it a nice heat. It was a bit fishy but I still enjoyed it, especially after adding fresh lime juice. Pandit goreng: fantastic meat dumplings! They were light, juicy, crispy, and savory pockets of awesomeness. Will definitely order every time. Had a blast. Customwr service was friendly and engaging. Will be back to try some of the noodle soups, soon!I hope this little place makes it!

Yelp
Awesomely Delicious! Three of us had lunch here and it was so delicious! The food was super yummy! We had several appetizers and dishes to try. For starters we had the (see pictures) Pangsit Goreng Crispy Eggrolls Lamb Satay All were super delicious and tasty!! For main course we split the following (see pictures) Nasi Goreng shrimp Nasi Goreng beef Ayam Goreng Bawang (fried chicken) Laksa-seafood noodle soup Again deliciously wonderful!! Every dish we had was so delicious, that words have a difficult time describing! (Let your eyes feed on the pictures) The service was wonderful. Very helpful and always there when you need anything! The ambiance of the restaurant is very comfortable and inviting. Please come and visit this place and truly experience the food of the Chef's Grandmother! Yes, the awesome Chef said these were his Grandmother's recipes. The food is sooo delicious! Thank you to Grandmother and to her wonderful Grandson for continuing on her delicious recipes!!

Yelp
Five stars all the way. The seafood laksa was filled with large whole shrimp, fish cakes, a couple of clams and even quail eggs. The flavor was on point with other authentic Singaporean restaurants I've had the same dish at before. The beef curry fried wontons was a bit of a surprise combo. Solid flavors and the curry was not overpowering. Fast and friendly service.

K. C.

Yelp
Our group of 8 friends could not stop talking about how delicious the food was and how accommodating the staff were for our large group. The restaurant itself is not large but it was cozy and the acoustics were great because it allowed us to sit and converse without having to strain our ears which is important for a group of 70+ year oldsters. We definitely plan to come again since there are so many other dishes we'd love to try.
google avatar

Yelp
After a long time in between our first visit it is really nice to see that this restaurant is doing well with a nice menu of many Southeast Asian dishes. Nice and clean restaurant with plenty of seats. Parking is easy. We started with shrimp fried rice which was very good. We also had Egg Rolls and Chicken Satay. The food came out fast. and was definitely freshly cooked. I had the Laksa and it was delicious. My wife had and our daughter had Chicken Randang and son-in-law had Chicken Hainanese Rice. I'm so glad we returned for this delicious meals. Well worth more future visits.

Yelp
Wow - that's all I can say. A little unassuming spot, modern interior, kitchen is exposed when you walk in. We were sat down quickly, service and waitress came back rather often. It came with complimentary shrimp chips (that were AMAZING). We got the pork satay, beef rendeng, and laksa soup noodles. The food came out FAST and delicious. There's not a lot of southeast Asian restaurants around and this was one was SO good. I would definitely come back and try other dishes.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch on a rainy Saturday. Service was quick. Loved the free shrimp chips. Tried the seafood laksa and beef rendan. Both were pretty tasty. Portion size on the smaller side. Restaurant is small but clean. Steady flow of take out orders.

Yelp
Barzar Eatery is one of those externally nondescript spots in a strip mall that surprises and delights. The interior is charming and welcoming, the service is enthusiastic and helpful, and the food is extraordinary: amazing depth of flavor, generous portions, and authentic Indonesian fare. Highly recommended!!

Yelp
Great tasting Laksa Soup and Hainan Chicken? Sign me up! I was lucky to have been able to visit Singapore a few years ago and absolutely loved the food there. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find anything similar back in the states.... until now.... Barzar Eatery!!! You have no idea how happy I was to find this restaurant on Yelp. We came here for dinner right after finding the review. Sat down, ordered on the phone with the QR code (and later paid by phone). The woman running around at the front of the house was pretty efficient and we thought it was funny because she said to us "sorry for the food being slow" at least four times when we were there. Maybe service was slightly slower than my expectation, but it wasn't a big deal. Everything was awesome but I will highlight in descending order of my favorites- Laksa Noodle Soup - seafood, spicy, coconut cream - I don't know what spices are in here but it's darn tasty and I thought it was as good as what I had in Singapore. Hainanese Chicken - ultra tender chicken. The ginger scallion sauce is the bomb, so throw that on everything. Chicken Rendang - Coconut curry chicken with rice. Asian comfort food. This was served with white rice (not sure if the menu was wrong or the menu pictures online were not up to date). Lamb Satay - super flavorful, slightly sweet, and tender. Nice app to start the meal with Pangsit Goreng - curry beef and onion in fried wontons. This reminds me of the curry puffs in Chinese bakeries except in a different wrapper. Mee-Goreng Beef Tripe - flavorful and a lot of different types of texture going on with the noodles, tripe, fish cake, and bean sprouts. Complimentary free shrimp chips! Overall, just an unbelievable find in Vacaville. I'm smiling just knowing that some of my favorite foods are accessible again.

Yelp
This gem of place was an extraordinary surprise as my BFF & I celebrated our respective birthdays! The space itself is immaculate and thoughtfully designed. Simple. Clean. Pretty. The service from (Kiernan?) and his manager...what a JOY! In a DIY world where mediocre service is the top of the espectation scale, they were a true sight for sore eyes! Hospitality at its best! And now for the food...WOW!! Every bite. Every morsel was cooked to perfection! Every mouthful was divinely delicious! From the shrimp chips, to the homemade spicy dipping sauce! Sometimes, our eyes are too big and we over order. More than once we've been confused for food critics. But, it's not that complicated. We just LOVE good food and Barzar Eatery did not disappoint in any way shape or form. We started with the crispy fried-to-perfection egg rolls which & the lamb satay. Incredible flavors and textures. We also ordered the shrimp fried rice, the chicken soto and the beef stew & turmeric rice! A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! The STAR of the show was the shrimp fried rice! Truly THE best I've ever had, I'll elaborate in a moment but first a little context. This was my first time to a Malaysian, Singaporian and Indonesian-inspired restaurant. I am not really familiar (yet) with these 3 types of cuisine. After we ate I was super curious to know which dishes were which cuisine and the lovey & sweet manager took the time to educate us on what we ordered. Turns, we ordered primarily all Indonesian-style dishes. The next few time, I visit I plan to explore the other two! But back to the Shrimp Fried Rice. This dish I am familiar with and I stopped ordering any type of fried rice anywhere. I find most places make it with too much soy sauce and it over powers the other flavors, or its too oily, or too salty or so bland. The shrimp are usually non-existent, so small you need a micro- scope or old and taste like chalk. It's better just to get steamed rice. Basically, it's been over 20 years since I ordered any fried at any restaurant. This shrimp fried rice was perfection! Subtle and perfectly balances flavors, soy sauce was delicate but definitely present! Rice was perfectly cooked and was buttery but not oily! Plenty of juicy succulent shrimp! It was absolutely heavenly! Can't wait to go back for more!! Thank you Chef!! P.S. There are no pix because the food was so good I forgot!

Yelp
I love love love this place! Everything from the chicken and rice, porridge, curries, and skewers all tasted authentically Singaporean. I loved the food in Singapore when I visited years ago, and this place brings back so many good memories. Our family take up the big table they have. There is limited seating so I recommend going early if you have a large group. The food here is also very good for takeout!

Isabel T.

Yelp
Food was so yummy and service was amazing. The lady helping with our orders was so friendly and made sure everything was made exactly how we wanted it. Absolutely would come back!

Yelp
Driving up to Tahoe from the South Bay is always painful as it's fraught with traffic. I took the Friday off before the long Memorial Day weekend to avoid traffic and be more leisurely about heading to the mountains. Vacaville was the right spot to stop for lunch and good old Yelp provided us with a pointer to Barzar. I am sure glad we stopped because it's been a long time since we've had good Southeast Asian food. For starters, we had the spring rolls and they were delicious. The Hiananese Chicken was cooked perfectly. Shame on me, I shouldn't have eaten the skin but it was just too good. Oh man, it's been a while since I had a Laksa and it brought back fond memories. Actually, it could have been a bit spicier but hey, it was damn good. I would come back in a heartbeat. In fact, I would have come back on the way home but the timing didn't work out. Next time for sure!

Yelp
Made a stop here on the way back to the Bay from Sacramento. Have been wanting to try this place out for quite a while, and it didn't disappoint. Ordered the Nasi Goreng with prawns, Mee Goreng and Soto Madura. The small shrimp keropok served when you are seated was so addictive. I couldn't stop eating them! The Soto Madura was tasty and I really enjoyed the beef tripe. The beef was tender and soup was tasty. The Mee Goreng was excellent! The strong wok hei hit my tastebuds as soon as I bit into the noodles. The Mee Goreng was ok. Maybe because I ordered it without any chilli because people I was sharing it can't take chillies. But I have to say that the prawns were generous in both the Mee Goreng and Nasi Goreng! Will be back to try the other dishes. Owners should consider selling their dishes on HubOn so that more people can try their food.

Monica M.

Yelp
Flavorful! Just the right amount and blend of spice and heat for my fairly spicy palate. Spring rolls (5/5), chicken satay (5/5), and pangsit goreng (stuffed wontons) (5/5) great apps. The shrimp mee goreng noodles (5/5) excellent, and beef rendeng (4.5/5) very good. I'll be back! They just need some cocktails and white wines and bubbles.

Yelp
Jan2024 Definitely different flavor profiles for the food. I had gotten pickup since I was in the area for work. The interior for the restaurant looks clean though. I had ordered the hainanese chicken and the vegetable stir fry. The chicken was cooked well, and the flavor was simple. I think the main star for that was the ginger scallion sauce that came with it. That popped and mixed well with the ingredients. If I went again I'd want a second of that for sure. The vegetable stir fry was a nice sweet savory. I'd want to see if there's anything to sub for the okra though since that part isn't my favorite. The sauce used worked well though with the ingredients. I'd be interested to see if the menu expands and more vegetarian options arise. Still worth checking out for something quite different from other restaurants in the area.

Yelp
While getting ready for a a long trek to the Bay Area to get good South East Asian food, we saw that Barzar Eatery was closer and decided to check it out! And boy we were not disappointed. Everything was delicious! The Chicken Rendang was more of a chicken curry, but it tasted delicious. The satay was on point, and the sambal was fire. Service was quick and friendly, and the place had a lot of parking in front. Definitely coming back here again.

Yelp
Food: Everything here is great, but their standouts are the Hainese Chicken(get extra scallion ginger sauce) and their Laksa Soup (just the right amount of spice and a hearty broth with all sorts of goodies including shrimp, quail eggs, fish cake, and more). Would recommend skewers (pick between lamb, beef, and chicken) and the spring rolls. Service: Very quick and responsive. The owner is super nice and welcoming and she brings the free shrimp chips speedily to your table once you enter. They have digital menus now for speedier ordering and paying. Ambiance: A nice cozy setting with minimal decorations, but an interesting and useful assortment of phone stands and benches and tables that seat larger groups.

Yelp
I've had my eye on Barzar Eatery for a while now, and I finally got the chance to try it with some Indonesian food experts on our way home from San Francisco. It's a young restaurant, about a year old, and located in a new strip mall in Vacaville, just off the highway. There's an Asian supermarket next door. The ambience inside is modern and a mix of bright, airy walls and dark tables and plates. The mirror inside the bathroom is high tech and fancy. Service was super friendly and fast. You can actually order and pay using the QR code on the table, or do it the old fashioned way with a server. While I like the QR code method (especially if ordering in large groups with split checks), I was really glad they gave us both options. We ordered the shrimp fried rice (nasi goreng), shrimp fried noodles (mee goreng), beef rendang, seafood laksa, lamb satay, chicken satay, and cendol for dessert. We also got a side of white rice and some cendol for dessert. There were complimentary shrimp chips (krupuk) that was refilled when our little krupuk monster kept emptying the plate. Everything was delicious. My favorite was the laksa. The broth was creamy and rich from the coconut milk. Others at the table really enjoyed the beef rendang and lamb satay. I would definitely recommend for people wanting authentic Indonesian food, and I plan to come back to try other menu items.

Yelp
Another scrumptious dinner! We were craving Laksa, and Barzar is the only place that serves it deliciously. Also do not pass up the megoran noodles and always get the veggie stir fry w/ the okra, eggplant, and cabbage...flavors are wild! The kindly owner offered some drinks and rice on the house. Service here just feels so homey and comfy. Hoping to the take the hubby, who is a fan of Hainanese chicken rice, and I ordered a take out for him. Terima kasih very much!

Yelp
Nice cozy Indonesian eatery in Vacaville, about 40 minutes drive from Sacramento. Good food and friendly folks. Sam the chef owner learned cooking from his mom growing up. Food wise we tried the following: - Laksa: 4 out of 5 good flavor overall, quite authentic and probably the best you can find in NorCal area (my fav is Borneo Eatery in Alhambra SoCal) - Hainan chicken rice: 3 out of 5 chicken is good but the rice is not the typical Hainan rice, and doesn't come with the red sambal & special slightly sweet soy sauce that are the staple of oh so good Singapore style Hainan chicken rice - Lamb satay: 3 out of 5 tender but was expecting the more traditional non marinated style with sweet soy sauce dipping on the side - Pork satay: 3 out of 5 some chunks are a bit tough and overall flavor lacking in depth - Beef rendang: 4 out of 5 very tender yummy pieces comes with yellow rice - Beef fried noodle: 2 out of 5: we like this one the least as the noodle is over cooked and lacking in flavor (we do taste the belacan shrimp paste but other than that just falls flat) Overall it's a solid place and kudos to the owners for introducing Indonesian cooking to the area especially there's not much choices in NorCal for Indonesian food even in the Bay Area SF or San Jose.

Yelp
Super cute and authentic Singaporean/Indonesian family style restaurant. It's a small shop so prepare to wait for service and food but every little details there make you feel the owners are really passionate about what they do. We walked in on a rainy President's day around 1pm, it was full but host quickly let me know I might have to wait a bit, it was a short wait and then she quickly cleaned the table and let us sit down. She came back with the complimentary shrimp crackers appetizer and again apologizing for the potential wait for the food. When we got our Laksa, Mee-Goreng beef and shrimp fried rice, everything was perfectly cooked, every bite you can feel the fresh ingredients and the love the chef put into cooking these dishes! Especially the beef mee-goreng has so much "wok hey", it's one of the best we had in a long time! Love every bit of this restaurant, including the wait! We will definitely come back every time we come to the Vacaville area!

Yelp
Dinner started off with complimentary shrimp chips, which are a thicker size than store-bought varieties. The flavor was consistent with every bite. We were offered another serving since we consumed all of it during the tasting of our appetizers and entrees. Tofu satay included a peanut sauce. Nice and airy crunch for the bite-sized servings. Beef satay was a favorite. The beef was very tender and packed a lot of flavor. If you are a true carnivore, eat this. Beef rendang was on point. The flavors were fantastic. The soft beef melted nicely with the simple rice and cucumber slices. The wifey claims she had a food orgasm with this entree. Nasi goreng - beef (beef fried rice) was fhe star of the show. The flavor profile is top notch. The egg, curry, and ground beef all danced with happiness in my mouth. Service and food arrival times were timely. There was also a table scan option to order/pay, which is efficient and technologically advanced vs. other restaurants. Mints and clementine mandarins were offered during exit. Ambiance is simple and casual. This place is a must-eat spot so we will definitely return to try other menu items.

Yelp
so happy to have authentic malay/singaporean food this close to me! decided to try barzar after being recommended by my parents, and it was definitely worthwhile! the owners are so nice, especially the woman working there, she is so sweet and always checked up on us. you order from scanning a QR code on the table and have the option to pay online too. we ordered the pork satay, and i think all orders came with keropok chips which i missed dearly! the owner offered us sambal chili as well, and the peanut sauce offered with the satay was a perfect pairing. the sticks were big and tender, worthy portion for price. we then ordered their laksa and beef rendang, both generous and huge portions. both taste exactly like dishes from home, so nostalgic! the owner is always so sweet when we come, this is definitely a little hidden gem!

Yelp
We came in 30 minutes before closing but the hostess was very kind and still let us dine in. (we left before closing though!) Casual but great service. Their shrimp chips are so yummy and we dipped it in their hot sauce. The food came out quick! We got the shrimp noodles, beef satay, and the beef rendang. The shrimp noodles were OK. We could have done without them. They were still flavourful. The beef satay and beef rendang was so tasty and flavourful. The beef satay she warned us would be a little fatty which was music to our ears! The beef rendang sauce was so delightful. Highly recommend this restaurant. It will have something for everyone!

Yelp
Pros: - Friendly staff - Clean environment - Ordered Pork Satay. Dish was flavorful and not dry, which was a pleasant surprise. Cons: - Place was out of every stir fried item or for some reason, they were not able to serve it. This was during lunch hour. - Ordered Soto Madura, which is described as a beef noodle soup. Care to guess what was missing? The beef, but got everything else. Dish was lacking in flavor so I pretty much used the entire chili sauce they provided. Tldr: 2 stars for service and Pork Satay. Call ahead to make sure they can serve their entire menu and double check your dish to make sure you get all the items described in the menu.

Yelp
Never would I imagine having some of the best mee-goreng-beef in a Vacaville strip mall, next to a chinese supermarket, but that's what make this find so special! This place is a small place with a few tables only. and seems like it is a single wok operation kitchen, so everything comes out in serial, very similar to Hawker stand in a way. Let me tell you though. whoever is in the "wok" put out some amazing stir fries. The flavor are also amazing, the beef stripe in the mee-goreng might be some of the most tender I ever had. The laksa soup also taste amazing as well as the shrimp fried rice. Also, the free shrimp chips starter is a great hit with the kids! Definitely looking forward a chance to come back to this place!

Yelp
Went to go have lunch after church at Bazar Eatery earlier and everything was so good! Saw Sam Tan in action! Food is amazing, service was great and the place was amazing!
