Fainting Goat Spirits

All of their spirits are great. I'm usually a whiskey guy, and their whiskeys are great, but their gin and vodka are excellent as well. They have a tasting room that they open for cocktails 1 or 2 days a week... And it's well worth a visit.

I was gifted a bottle of Fishers Bottled in Bond and was unable to buy more locally. We decided to take the Amtrak to Greensboro a short distance away. It is a quick walk from the station to The Fainting Goat. We sat at the bar and had a great conversation with the bar keeps. They were very knowledgeable about their products and fun to chat with. I highly recommend getting the $12 tasting. You get a sip of everything they have to offer and a complimentary glass. Great place to kill some time on a Saturday.

Greensboro has a true gem in Fainting Goat Spirits! We were just passing by and stopped in on a whim and so glad we did. The staff were very knowledgeable and great to work with. Every thing we sampled was amazing. I especially liked the rye. And I even bought my brother a special small batch of bourbon aged in a barrel from Foothills Brewery - Sexual Chocolate! It truly tasted like chocolate lava cake!

This is the best little hidden gem around! Not only do they have the best bourbon around, but everybody there is great too. Keep an eye out for their popups to try some incredibly creative drinks.

I had my 21st birthday here and all I can say is that an amazing staff gave an amazing experience with amazing cocktails and distilled spirits. I would recommend this place to anyone trying to have an Elegant evening. Big shout out to the owner, Bill.

Great spot! Did the $10 tasting of all they offer and also got to keep the tasting glass. The bartender was very knowledgeable of all the products and very friendly and helpful.

The tour was great and we learned a lot about vodka, gin and bourbon that I didn't know...did you know that gin starts off as vodka? The bourbon still needs some time in the barrels but the Gin and Vodka tastings are worth it! Call ahead and book a tour at $10 bucks per person with tasting and take home glass.

Such a great place and nice people that own/manage it! Couldn't have picked a better distillery to visit for my husband's birthday and he absolutely loved the bourban. We will definitely be back!!

I love Fainting Goat Spirits! Such a neat place place. I have been coming here for years since it opened. They offer an excellent tasting experience in the bar area. I love the addition of the cocktails to go feature on weekends and the cocktail events throughout the year. The owners are so nice and knowledgeable. Definitely a must visit when in Downtown Greensboro!

Went here while on vacation looking for distilleries and been wanting to try new things. If anything I really enjoy the logo. :) Upon coming in, it was fun checking out the options in the tasting room. The staff were all SUPER friendly and made for a great time. We were able to do a sampler of all the Whiskey's and ended up walking out the door with two bottles AND a pre-made drink that they were just approved to sell. Overall between the friendly staff, great drinks, and location, this place is a super hit. If you're in the area, stop on by! They say great things come in small packages, and this is so true of this little gem in downtown greensboro! The fainting goat is so cute and kitchy on the inside and offer tastings of their spirits. My friends and I stumbled in randomly and stayed to try 6 different spirits in the tasting. We were taught about the alcohols and how they're made as we tasted each one, AND we were given our tasting glasses to take home! This was such a nice touch and made me fall in love even more with this place. They offered to take pictures of the group and just couldn't be more kind and informative. The spirits we tried were fantastic! I plan to go back to not only try other drinks they have but to purchase some bottles as well. I think they would make great gifts for your liquor aficionados. 10/10 would recommend!!

Fainting goat has been a favorite of ours for years for liquor tastings (their bartender is bar none) and I've been waiting to attend one of their cocktail popups. We finally got the chance on Saturday! It's pretty simple - walk up to their garage front and order/pay and they'll bring your drink to wherever you're standing when it's ready. We had both the Marco pollo and the cantaloupe gin spritz. Both were fabulous. As always we will be supporting Tiny Cat Vodka, Emulsion Gin, and Fisher's Whiskey in their bar but we will now we making it a point to attend all cocktail popups!

Fainting Goat Spirits is a wonderful local distillery. I dropped in due to a recommendation of a friend and ordered the Apple Orchard Spritz. It was delicious! It has a family vibe and everyone there was super friendly and helpful. Grab a drink to go to sip on while you explore downtown. Try the Tiny Cat Vodka!

This place is amazing. The owners are super friendly and they make some good spirits and GOOD DRINKS. Recently had the Halloween Havoc and it was great!! They have a nice little sit-down area in the back. You must do the tour/tasting.

We went in for a tasting and it was a great experience. The pourer was fun, friendly and knowledgeable. The spirits are great, we purchased a few bottles to take home. The offered a vodka, single malt whiskey, rye whiskey, a rye with maple, a bourbon and a gin that's probably the best I've ever had.

Just. Wow! Looking for a fun and fabulous holiday cocktail hang?? Look no further. Today we happened by during one of their monthly (ish) "garage bar" cocktail event. They make it up front and you meander on back for a cozy hang in the back bar... OR do some last minute downtown Greensboro shopping (cocktail in hand allowed)! Check out these gorgeous and festive libations.

Definitely worth a stop for a tasting. Very good spirits and some 4-6 year aged whiskeys and bourbons.

It's a little piece of paradise in the heart of downtown Greensboro. You can walk in off the street and get to learn the whole process of producing and refining spirits. After you enjoyed the tour and smelled all the bubbly goodness you can go have a tasting for $10 (and you get to keep the glass!). They have only recently started making bourbon. It is pretty good. They also make a gin that is good, IMO. I'm not a big gin guy, but this one is pretty good. If you are in the area and enjoy spirits of this nature, then I would definitely suggest swinging in for a taste or grabbing a bottle.

Liquid courage Heaven. Our foodie group is always down for adventures and new experiences. Geez-- what have we been missing all this time. Fainting Goat Spirits, secretly nestled inside our favorite downtown GSO spots, definitely left an impression on us. The entrance is quite a scene as you can see the distilling process up close; all the way from grain to finished product. We opted for the tasting where we sampled 6 of their finest offerings.. from gin, vodka, bourbon and whiskey, the bonus keepsake glass was awesome too! Dave was very insightful, eloquently describing what to expect on our palate with every drop we sampled. Who knew there could be so much to learn about handcrafted spirits! The space is nice and cozy with TVs for enjoyment. Product and merch stands surround the area.. offerings from apparel, bitters and keepsakes. We grabbed a branded shot glass, hat and tshirt on the way out-- capping off an impromptu tasting that we thoroughly enjoyed!

Excellent and very reasonable tasting! The host was entertaining. Everything we tasted was outstanding. The most difficult part was deciding which to bring home!

I don't know how many times I have written how much I enjoy going to a good distillery, hearing their story, and of course, trying their offerings. It's one of my favorite things to do in any town/city I happen to travel to. Since moving to NC, I have been trying diligently to check out every place this state. I am SO happy that I made it to Fainting Goat Spirits. I may actually end my quest here as I can't see anyone being any better! (True, they have my partiality because I'm a BIG fan of whiskey) The place is situated in a newly built up area with breweries and pubs popping up. They have been at this location long before it was gentrified however and are fully established. You walk in to the distillery area where you can see all the 'backstage' area where some of the magic happens. Don't worry, you aren't lost, just keep walking to the back area where the ramp leads you to the actual tasting area. This is set up like an old English pup style with a BEAUTIFUL wooden bar and a long table in the center of the room. Belly up to the bar & ask for a tasting & they will whisk your tastebuds away on a truly enjoyable experience. You start off with their Tiny Cat vodka. Each one of the guys will inform you that this will be the smoothest vodka you will ever taste.......and surprisingly they are very very right. This vodka was very smooth and has nice buttery after notes along with a touch of caramel. Next up is the Fischer's single malt. I need a whole paragraph here. I am NOT a fan of single malt scotch. I don't get it. I'm a big fan of whiskey, just not scotch. These guys at Fainting Goat can make me a fan. This scotch went down very smoothly with none of that oaky sense you get from some other brands. It also had a caramel finishing note to it with the addition of a little spice. It was VERY good. Next up was the straight rye whiskey...very spicy. Then their bourbon (this was the only sour note...its not bad bourbon, but its not the best I've ever had), and finally the special Maple Rye whiskey...which I actually bought. Now, here is the thing, the prices are higher than national brands sold in your local ABC stores, but you have to remember, you are supporting a local business. They aren't big enough to sell nationally like other brands. They are however WELL worth both the visit and the purchase, you really won't be sorry.

Occasionally, I just come across a gem that words can't fully describe. One of those gems is Fainting Goat Distillery. After waiting what seemed to be ages to see an "open" sign post-pandemic, I seized the opportunity to wander in while buzzing around Downtown. Walking through the northern entrance, I was greeted by the hearty aroma of yeast mash in the fermentation vats full of barley malt; it's a mouth-watering aroma that smells like a fresh-baked loaf of sourdough bread. I was directed to the back of the shop, where a warm wooden interior welcomed me in a friendly staff member invited me to the $10 tasting. I eagerly jumped at the chance. Upon seating, I was given a flight of four feature spirits, each described to me in vivid detail by the knowledgeable staff. All were intensely drinkable, with the right balance of heat and flavor. - Tiny Cat. A crystal-clear vodka offering, smooth-drinking as water, at just the right proof (40 abv). I've seldom tried a vodka with as much body and flavor as this. I picked up aromas and tastes of honey, wheat and spices. A vodka that stands on it's own without a mixer. - Emulsion. Seemingly the same grain base as Tiny Cat, smooth with added complexity of botanicals. A string floral honeysuckle/lavender presence with a subdued pine resin was the juniper. Well-balanced and intensely drinkable. - C.B. Fisher's Single Malt. An enjoyable bouquet of honey, malt, spice and vanilla. Reminded me of Eagle Trace, but far smoother. - C.B. Straight Rye Whiskey. This was the clincher for me. An incredibly-smooth sipper full of peppery, malty, honey-sweet heaven. By far the best rye I've ever tasted, for about a modest cost above a bottle of Bulleit. I couldn't control my impulse to walk out with a bottle of this liquid magic. I even got a complimentary snifter for my troubles. Fainting Goat is one more reason to love the great state of North Carolina. Time to sip some more rye.

Like a cozy old leather chair. Really dug this place. And the friendly hospitable environment & the magnetic personality of Bill is infectious. He has a real joie di vivre. The interior was thoughtfully created- the perfect setting to chill and sip these craft libations. It was a Monday and they weren't even open for tours. But Bill & crew were accommodating and gracious. We tried everything and loved it all leaving with Booz aplenty for gifts & t shirts, stickers. Come support this family distillery- you will be so happy you did.

Apparently...One glass does not mean one bottle. I guess some people are built different. Nonetheless...DELICIOUS. I had to Uber home and my driver smelled like cinnamon and cedar. 4 Stars -R.F. Swanson

My wife and I stopped in for a tasting this evening and were really pleased with the value. For just $10 each, we got to sample all 6 of their offerings and even got to keep the Glencairn glasses we used. Each of the 6 spirits was interesting and distinctly different from those we had tried before and we left with a few bottles to share with friends.

Such a neat place! We stopped in after spending some time across the street at Boxcar. Great tour with Bill! Super knowledgeable, polite and fun! For $10 you can do the tasting of a vodka, gin, and two whiskeys. My only complaint about the tasting was wishing there was a chaser option available (for those of us weaker than thou). When you walk in to the building you're in the distillery. You walk through this and get to see where and how everything is made on your way to the tasting room. Cute little seating area and gifts available. Clean restrooms. With the $10 tasting you get to keep a Fainting Goats Spirits glass. Definitely check this place out to learn about and sample some Greensboro-distilled goodness.

Greensboro Distilling Company, which began production in the early spring of this year, is Guilford County's first legal distillery since Prohibition. There is a distilling operation with a capacity of 50 gallons a day, and there are plans for a tasting room, as well. They began by producing vodka from wheat secured within North Carolina, and will follow with gin, and later whiskys and bourbon. The product line is labeled as Fainting Goat Spirits. The vodka is called Tiny Cat, and is available and many of the ABC locations in the area.The gin should be available soon, since like the vodka, there is no aging process required. The vodka is rather inexpensive, and is similar to that produced by Topo in Chapel Hill and Tito's in Texas. In my opinion, Tiny Cat, like the the other two, is better used as a mixer.

Very nice staff, very knowledgeable and willing to answer questions. A really good tasting. A little hard to find, just walk through the fermentation room to the back of the building.

Wound up here to detour from our Bar Crawl event for a spell. My girl and I initially came in to inquire about pricing and products, but magically ended up paying for a tour due to our grand curiosity. The tour was short and sweet, but the guide answered all of our questions and informed us more about the process than I had learned on previous whiskey tours (at other companies). We were able to taste their whiskey, gin, and vodka. I am NOT a fan of gin, but theirs made me a believer. I prefer whiskey above all else, and theirs also made my recommendation list. My friend, who doesn't do vodka, loves theirs and did purchase a bottle (Tiny Cat). There are only two other brands her stomach can handle, so this tour was everything to her. I will be on the look out for their whiskey as they were sold out on location, but is available at the ABC stores.

Great distillery, very informative and passionate people that very much enjoy taking you through the products and proving to you what sets them apart from the others, their product speaks for itself and their gin specifically is a one of a kind product you need to taste for yourself. I don't think there's anyone out there, even those that hate gin, that wouldn't love this product.

Fun tour and tasting downtown Greensboro! Always interesting to see how things are made and get to enjoy trying them at the end.

This is hands down my favorite stop we made while in town. A little hidden gem tucked between some busy hotspots this is a MUST STOP. The owner's personality alone makes this a must. He is a total mad genius- I can't believe how amazingly knowledgeable he is about distilling and the fact that he can so casually explain the process to average everyday people is remarkable! He was patient and educational but funny. His wife was working the shop and was incredibly friendly as well. The gin they make is probably the best I've ever had. I genuinely can't wait to try their whiskey/ bourbon when it becomes available. If I lived in Greensboro this is the first place I'd take every one I know- North Carolina charm and culture in a nutshell.

Super cool local distillery. The tour will give you a great education on the distilling process, and a real appreciation for what goes into it. The tasting room is warm and friendly, and you can even buy one bottle to take home. Can't wait to visit again, and take friends There are several fun beer places within close walking distance, too. What's a little confusing is that their vodka is available in ABC stores, but it's named something different, so you have to know what you're looking for, or ask. Cat something. The name Fainting Goat seems like it'd be better, but maybe the ABC wouldn't approve it.

We had a great time at greensboro's first distillery. The Gin is outstanding. I highly recommend this as a must do downtown Greensboro. You guys are lovely and I know you are going to do great!! We are planning to come back with our friends!

We went for a tour and taste and it did not disappoint. The tour was interesting and Bill (owner) made it a great experience. After the tour you sit for a taste and at the end you keep your glass. For $10 a person I recommend checking it out. You learn a little and you may walk away with a new favorite drink. We did!

This distillery was recommended by friends who live in Greensboro...and it did not disappoint! We had a delightful time with Bill on the tour and then the tasting. Such a cool place...and very tasty spirits!

They make a wonderful herbal gin that has converted my gin-hating husband into a G&T drinker. Their Tiny Cat Vodka is delightfully smooth. I look forward to their whiskey when they are ready to bottle it.

AWESOME! Family owned and operated, they're great people, their $10 tour is something everyone in G'Boro should experience. Their vodka is smooth and buttery, gin is classic botanical, and I'm counting the days until their single malt whiskey and bourbons are aged properly! These folks know distilling!

First let me state that we were unable to partake in the products because of work. That being said we stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and were extremely well greeted, well taken care of, and had a fantastic time talking to the owners. They are very personal and kind people, willing to take the time to talk about their trade. Mash was Fermenting and the smell was incredibly awesome. Next time back to Greensboro we will be stopping by. I absolutely recommend taking the time to stop by.

Never have I enjoyed any distilled spirit without a mixer BUT just wait until you taste the Emulsion Gin. It soothes and smoothes the senses!!! Congratulations Fainting Goat Spirits!!!
