Gelati & Peccati serves some of the most delicious gelato in San Diego — the kind that immediately tastes authentic, rich, and thoughtfully crafted. The texture is exactly what great gelato should be: smooth, dense, and slightly sticky in that classic Italian way, without being overly sweet. Every flavor feels intentional, with clean, bold notes that come through clearly.
The shop offers a rotating selection, and the quality is consistently high. Flavors like pistachio, dark chocolate, and lemoncello are standouts, each one creamy and balanced, with none of the artificial aftertaste you get at typical ice cream spots. Even the fruit flavors taste bright and natural, and the chocolate-based ones are deeply flavorful without being heavy.
The vibe is casual and welcoming, and it’s the perfect stop whether you’re strolling through University Heights or grabbing dessert after dinner. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and the staff is friendly — all of which makes the experience even better.
My pictures are horrible but you have to go and try it yourself. If you’re craving truly delicious gelato with real Italian character, Gelati & Peccati is absolutely worth the visit.
