The 37 Best Restaurants in St. Louis, Missouri | Eater

"What happens when a master of pho wants to open a ramen restaurant to rival the best in the world? He gets help. Qui Tran, of Vietnamese institution Mai Lee, and executive chef-partner Marie-Anne Velasco hired Shigetoshi Nakamura, one of the world’s four “ramen gods,” as a consultant and worked with the legendary Sun Noodle to develop their noodle recipe. After years of R&D, Nudo opened its doors in Creve Coeur in 2017 with a menu of seven different ramen styles, along with a small sampling of pho. Start with the Classic Nudo, a traditional tonkotsu ramen; the broth is clabbered and rich, the color of the inside of a cloud, while the noodles retain their firm center. The diverse menu also includes a selection of cold Asian salads, fresh spring rolls, and the city’s most delicious crab rangoon, and there are four different banh mis that are great for dunking into Nudo’s broths — as long as you don’t mind stinkeye from fussbudget foodies." - Holly Fann

Google
Best pho I have ever had..the broth is very flavorful. This is my second time here.I will be returning again. I drive from Belleville just to come here

Google
Restaurant was clean, food came out extremely quick. Ramen was good, not mind blowing though. Would be back if it was slightly cheaper.

Google
I brought my date here one night and ended up scoring with her later that night. The food was amazing and the staff was friendly. The interior has a nice vibe however it can get overwhelming crowded depending on the night. 9.4/10 I’d recommend. 🍜

Google
Phenomenal and flavorful. Quick service as soon as you sit down! Recommend the Tamarind Fried Chicken. It is to die for. Pho and ramen are great, too, especially if you're feeling under the weather! Comfy and cozy atmosphere and I like how it's right next to the Delmar Hall. Perfect to grab a quick bite to eat before a concert!

Google
We have eaten here several times over the last few years and it has always been on point. The Ramen is delicious. The broth is definitely not a generic mix, it's made overnight for the next day. The service is fast and friendly, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is bright, open, and clean. They have several great beers and other beverages. Each time we have been, it has been pretty crowded. That didn't slow the service. Highly recommend for a great bowl of Ramen or any of their other dishes!

Google
My kids introduced me to the Nudo House, and I'm glad they did. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. My daughter and I ordered Pho and Spring Rolls. My son ordered Ramen. Everything was flavorful and fresh. The service was so fast that they met me at the table with my food. I was pleasantly surprised. I will be back again and again.

Google
This place was okay. Good cane out gay, hot and fresh but there was no depth of flavor. My husband ordered the belly bahn-mer and I had the bahn pho dip. The sandwiches good but not great. We also ordered the gyoza and takoyaki. The gyoza was unflavored and the takoyaki was over cooked. Overall unimpressed.

Travis D.

Google
Amazing food best Pho and Ramen we have had in forever. Pho Shizzle says it all and the shroomed out was great. Portion size was great couldn't finish it all in 1 setting. Cashier was awesome.

Yelp
We love Nudo House! The food is delicious and comes out super quick. On our most recent visit we ordered the Pho Shizzle, Shroomed Out, and the Veggie Egg Rolls. Shroomed Out is my go to, it is vegetarian and has the most delicious broth. I always add sriracha to give it a kick. The egg rolls are also delicious but very small. The restaurant is simple inside with lots of small tables and self service sauce and drink station. You order at the counter and they bring you your food to your table. One thing to note is lately they have had the sriracha that has a strong vinegar taste so if you are a sriracha snob I would bring your own packets!

Yelp
If you're craving ramen, this is THE spot!! - Nduja bomb: their classic nudo plus Salume Beddu's nduja (pork salami): soo good, perfect noodles in a deeply umami broth with a spicy kick. My friend proclaimed this the best thing they've had in St. Louis. - Sesame nudo: cold, refreshing, saucy and the perfect balance of savory and sweet. Small entrée-sized and only $5! What's more, the food came literally 10 seconds after we sat down. What a great, laid-back fast casual dining experience. Good thing there's street parking close by on Delmar because we will be back over and over again!!

Yelp
Absolutely amazing! Grabbed a bite to eat before a concert with my friend. I don't know why i didn't try this place sooner. Upon walking in, you walk right to the counter to order. We were greeted by staff and placed our order. I ordered the Hebrew hammer, spicy. It comes with chicken paitan, shoyu, braised chicken, menma, bok choy, and black garlic. The chicken was tender and juicy, the broth was so flavorful. The spice level was mild, but i added additional spice to make it even more spicy. I would like for the noodles to be cooked a little more to soften them up some. But definitely will comeback to have this again. There are tables inside for you to enjoy your meal, and during warmer weather, there is patio seating as well.

Maverick Y.

Yelp
First of all it's not $12 as marked on this APP, and the portion of food is way too small, barely feeds a grown man... And when I ask for more noodle(just noodle) they say it's extra $5 dollar lol, paying 20+ dollars just to be full lmao

Yelp
Nudo House has been on my list to check out for a while and I'm so glad I was finally able to go! The food was amazing and I can't wait to go back and try more items from the menu.

Yelp
Walk up counter order with incredibly fast service! We both ordered pho and it arrived at our table within 3 minutes of us sitting down! The chicken and the beef were both lean and tender and well-seasoned. The broth had a slight sweetness which was nice. Bean sprouts, limes, jalapeños, Thai basil and cilantro served on the side were fresh and crisp. Spring rolls were light and tasty and come two to a serving. Overall, everything tasted delicious and was good quality.

K. S.

Yelp
Good pho broth, fast service. Shrimp had a fishy taste, I just ate around them. Overall good, I'll skip the shrimp if I go again.

Yelp
Nudo House is definitely A-OK! The breakdown: Order first, pay then find a seat anywhere your heart desires. Food came out very fast. Self serve Fountain drinks Very laid-back environment/casual. Staff is very nice and the establishment is clean and spacious. Ordered: *Kids ramen with pork - broth is good but noodles are a little bit too firm for my kids. The pork is a little bit on the chewy side because it's a thicker cut. *O miso spicy Ramen - this one was spicy but it was very flavorful and delicious. Noodles are on the firmer side as well and the same issue with the pork which is a bit on the chewy side. *Pho banh mi dip - you can tell that the pho broth is very flavorful. Made me wish that I tried the pho during my visit here. Definitely can get messy. *Crab Rangoon- menu says that this is made fresh daily. Just the right amount of Cream cheese to crab ratio although I did taste a little bit more of the Cream cheese. Perfectly fried with a nice crunch when you bite into it. Definitely recommend this item to all of my crab rangoon fans! This spot is pretty decent, if you are looking for a spot to eat at and have no clue where to go. Tips: *Street parking *Credit card accepted *Indoor seating *Order first and then find a seat. *They do third-party app delivery food. *Restoom available for customers. *There's more than one location.

Yelp
Nudo House Delmar - Slurping Heaven, One Bowl at a Time If you're looking for a sign to try Nudo House Delmar--this is it. Whether you're a ramen rookie or a seasoned noodle connoisseur, this place delivers big time. Yes, it's counter service, but don't let that fool you--the staff is incredibly helpful, especially if it's your first visit. They walk you through the menu like a friendly noodle tour guide, making sure you end up with a bowl that hits all the right notes. Now, the food... Let's just say I've had dreams about their ramen since. The broth? Deep, rich, and packed with umami. The noodles? Perfectly chewy. The toppings? Balanced and beautiful. Whether you're going for the classic Tonkotsu or trying something a little more adventurous, you can't go wrong. And don't even get me started on the banh mi--it's wildly underrated. Best part? It's all super reasonably priced. You walk out full, happy, and still have enough cash left over for bubble tea or dessert (pro tip: do it). Bottom line: Nudo House Delmar is one of those rare spots that combines fast, friendly service with food that tastes like it should be served in a sit-down restaurant with white tablecloths. Affordable, delicious, and welcoming--this place is a gem.

Yelp
Ordered through Uber Eats to my hotel by the stadium. Got the chicken Pho and it was phenomenal. The broth was the best I have ever had. All the fixings were all separate and fresh.

Blake L.

Yelp
Food was terrible, felt like we got the last of the broth for the night that had been sitting all day. Left feeling like we were going to vomit. We passed a few other ramen/Pho places on the way, probably would've had better luck stopping at any of those restaurants instead. Don't get me wrong the staff was super nice and welcoming, the food just sucked - it was terrible. You shouldn't leave a restaurant feeling like you're about to vomit. Extremely overpriced for the portion sizes, I think it was $45/$50 for 2 ramens. It was so bad I want to call my bank and dispute the transaction (LOL). I'd highly recommend avoiding this place.
google avatar

Sneha P.

Yelp
We got takeout from this casual restaurant. The o'miso ramen and classic nudo were both very average. Packaging for takeout was good and labeled nicely. Personally prefer Menya Rui for Ramen in STL.
google avatar

Jaslynn W.

Yelp
I've been to this location a few times and my experience is always enjoyable. The restaurant is generally clean and the service is always pretty friendly. I love the beef pho and crab rangoon, I get it every time. I'm definitely looking forward to trying the ramen.
google avatar

Courtney S.

Yelp
I ordered the pho chicken soup again! Its always consistent and packaged perfectly when you order it to go. All of the ingredients are fresh and come together beautifully. Savory, spicy and citrus. This soup is amazing all year round!
google avatar

Jasmine H.

Yelp
I've been to several ramen restaurants around the St. Louis area and this is definitely one of my favorites! Everything about the experience has been pleasing to me especially the flavor of the ramen dishes and the toppings that come along with it. Every time I walk in there the space is always really clean and orderly, and the workers are always professional.
google avatar

Stacey D.

Yelp
Miso ramen, and pot stickers are great!!! Customer service is good, ordering right when you come through the door can cause a traffic jam if you are new and dont know what you want. Other than that its nice, and the atmosphere with animals is awesome!
google avatar

Georgia S.

Yelp
Getting the tables wiped down was a bit of a battle but the food is delicious and the price is fair-ish
google avatar

Cleo G.

Yelp
Good casual, quick-service spot for ramen! You order inside at the counter and by the time you pick a spot to sit at your food is pretty much already at the table. They have a few rules like "we'll treat you how you treat us" and "no water/bathroom unless you purchase," which feels pretty reasonable. The vibe is definitely ont he more hipster, chill side. I tried the Hebrew Hammer, and it was great. My favorite part was the soft boiled egg, which was perfectly rich and runny, but the broth was super flavorful and well seasoned too. There were a solid amount of ramen noodles in the bowl, and although I wish there was more pork, the meat that there was was really delicious. My friend got the O'miso spicy ramen, and although it lived up to expectations in terms of spice, I'd say the flavor profile had less depth, and would still go with the Hebrew Hammer if I were to go again.
google avatar

Kayla P.

Yelp
My very favorite place to stop and grab some delicious warm noodles. Staff is always kind, the food is always delicious, and I can typically find a new drink on the menu. Located in the loop, perfect before a concert or activity. Typically a good amount of other people in there, which is a good sign. Plenty of seating & has a nice vibe inside.
google avatar

Fay H.

Yelp
Delicious, fast, flavorful ramen and pho! Love that the vegan options do not lack flavor. Love the shroomed out and curry up as a vegetarian!
google avatar

Patrick C.

Yelp
10/10. I don't get ramen often but this made me want to. When dining in, you order up front and then they bring you the food (which was insanely quick from the time we sat down to being served). Cute place to dine in. Tables are close to one another but not too close--feels like community and good vibes. Crab Rangoon was delicious (3 for $4 is an incredible price) and Classic Nude ramen was phenomenal. Definitely going back.
google avatar

Shannon L.

Yelp
For a spicy quick pick me up order any of the sandwiches or soups! Be sure to tip when you place your oder. Service is prompt and friendly! The atmosphere is laid back.
google avatar

Cas R.

Yelp
Quick service delicious ramen! You order at the counter and grab your sauces yourself and sit at a table. The food is brought out within a couple minutes and you get to enjoy the ambiance of local art in the walls and Nudo animation details on the napkin holders and other decor. Would recommend any of the ramen flavors (tried the pork, chicken, and mushroom). I ordered the original ramen, but really enjoyed tasting the mushroom ramen broth from my group. This is a new favorite when I visit St. Louis.
google avatar

Alice C.

Yelp
Nudo House on Delmar is a gem! The veggie egg rolls were perfectly crispy and delicious--great for starting the meal. I tried the Classic Nudo Ramen and the Shroomed Out Ramen; both were flavorful and comforting. The broth was rich, and the noodles were spot on. Definitely a spot I'll return to! It's a modern and welcoming, laid back vibe. You can sit anywhere as long as there is an open table. The workers will deliver the food to the table but you have to assist yourself in your beverage or grab your own condiments.
google avatar

Sunny P.

Yelp
I wouldn't say it's authentic Asian food but it is a good choice for people who are new to trying new cuisines. You order your food at the front and pay before eating. I was shocked at how fast the food came out though! It was like less than 5 minutes. With that being said, the noodles were on the harder side. They have very hard workers. They're cleaning after everyone immediately after they leave and are cleaning fhe tables and chairs too. I got the ramen and it was alright! It didn't hit the spot 100% but I think I would come again for the pho. It was pretty busy for a weekday dinner but still has plenty of seating!
google avatar

Ron W.

Yelp
So let's just get it out there. I'm not a Ramen guy. But I was taking my adult daughter to lunch and this is where she wanted to go. So if I can get her to take time to eat with me I'll buy her whatever she wants. I give this place four stars based upon the fact that they're pretty good at what they do. I'm just not a fan of what they do. That's not their fault. I'm not into seaweed. I had the Hebrew hammer. Again, let's be honest. I chose it because it has a terribly cool name. And I recognized one of its ingredients. Chicken. The chicken was great. The broth was outstanding. That's pretty much all I could identify. Totally my fault! If you're into Ramen, I completely recommend this place. If you're into burgers.... Not so much. I'm not cool and trendy like my daughter. But I'm smart enough to know I should feed her whatever she wants if I can snag an hour with her. You can call me old school. You can call me midwestern small city hick. You can call me uneducated or a culinary fool. But you can't say I'm not a family man. Go to Nudo House. If you're surfing places for Ramen, this is where you should go.
google avatar

Lucy W.

Yelp
I had a good experience at nudo house. Easy to order, food came super fast. The restaurant felt clean and comfortable. I got the classic nudo, which I don't get ramen very often. It was amazing and I'd love to go back again.
google avatar

Alex R.

Yelp
Ordered Nudo House via UberEats. We had the classic Ramon, bahn mi pho dip, and tamarind fried chicken. Highly recommend the bahn mi pho dip! Super flavorful and the bread tasted fluffy and fresh, even being delivered. The ramen was ok but felt the noodles were a little undercooked. The tamarind chicken traveled surprisingly well and I liked the tempura style. Will definitely give the ramen another try when we can go in in person!
google avatar

Kai P.

Yelp
noodles and broth are so good, and the banh mi is delicious there. one of my favorites nearby, wish i could go more often
google avatar

Alyssa M.

Yelp
Cute & quick place for soup and apps. Service was very good! The appetizers were great. Unfortunately, both the pho and classic nudo were not our favorites. I am not an expert so take my opinion with a grain of salt, but the meat on both were pretty tough and flavorless, the noodles were okay but flavors were off. I wouldn't go again, but try if you're curious, maybe you will like more than I!
google avatar

Amanda D.

Yelp
NUDO Never Disappoints!! and it's one of my favorite places to go pre-concert! I've tried a few ramens, the chicken pho, and some apps in the past (edamame, spring roll, and crab rangoon) and they were all delicious. My go-to ramen order is the Curry Up and I ask for white meat chicken... you won't be sorry about this order! Shroomed Out is also really tasty, vegetarian, and on the lighter side. If you're a fan of spicy, O'Miso Spicy will definitely clear your sinuses. The service is super quick and even when there is a line, the seating clears up pretty fast as well. Everything is clean and light so you can see why you're eating and the noise level still allows you to hear the conversation of the person/people you're with. They also have frozen bevs which are pretty delish, a good beer selection, and soft serve!
google avatar

Liz C.

Yelp
Had a total WTAF moment with the food I received. I got the Belly Banh-Mer and it was awful. The sandwich was inedible. The tempura batter was so thick I couldn't tell where the chicken was. Then there was the tamarind sauce, and pate, fine, but there was also a very reddish pink colored something that looked a lot like blood so I decided not to finish it. The cilantro was almost all stems and no leaves. It was both impossible to eat and just the worst sandwich I've had in years. Also the veggie spring rolls were barely cooked. I had to put them in the air fryer just to get them golden colored.
google avatar

Beth K.

Yelp
The food was good! We got the fried chicken banh mi and yolo mien. Very good breading on the chicken and a great light sauce on the noodles. It's an order first then sit down restaurant and service was very quick. It was a chill location with some cool artwork on the wall.

Eduardo N.

Yelp
Don't think the ingredients are fresh. Use a lot of powder garlic. Dumplings were really greasy. The milk drink was way to sweet. But that's just me. Saw lots of regulars there enjoying their meals.
google avatar

Trinity P.

Yelp
Heard about this place because it was near Washington University. Fast service, clean tables, great atmosphere. I found service to be decent, not mind-blowing but not ear-smoking. The ramen is delicious here, it's well proportioned and there is an equal amount of toppings. If you aren't a fan of salty food, I'd make an attempt to avoid this place because the soup is overly salty by the touch. I love this place nonetheless.
google avatar

TJ B.

Yelp
Food is delicious and staff is friendly. We got carry out and the food tasted great and the portions were sized great. Check them out!!!

Zip R.

Yelp
Great food, love the soda and good customers service. They was very kind bc of my allergies.

Yelp
Passing through St. Louis on a road trip and my friend and I were craving ramen. Nudo House popped up on top number listings so we had to stop. The location is in a nice busy street with many shops, restaurants and venues nearby. Perfect for a eating spot before going out or even enjoying a city vibe. This location was POPPING with to go orders so it can only show how amazing this spot was. I ordered the Omiso Spicy and my friend ordered the Hebrew Hammer. Broth on both were AMAZING. Food came out really quick. Noodles were perfectly cooked. The only issue I had was with the pork chasu, it was a little tough unfortunately. I typically rate places off of broth and the chasu but the chasu unfortunately dropped the ball. Staff was super welcoming and nice with recommendations. Design of the location is really awesome! Anime style themes with funny decorations.

Jane H.

Yelp
I've eaten here at least 10 times over the past 6-ish years (with at least a few to-go orders) and will say that I appreciate the pork-free ramen options offered (Hebrew Hammer, chicken and veggie kids ramen, etc.). The prices are reasonable and generally the food is pretty good. However, I would not recommend Nudo House (Delmar) as THE go-to ramen spot in STL for a couple of reasons: 1) Ambiance: when you first walk in, you are bombarded with rude signs about how there is not a public restroom, restrooms for customers only, etc. It's kind of jarring because I haven't seen many other businesses with signs like that and even as a paying customer, it made me feel uncomfortable. Additionally, the staff seems a bit inexperienced/undertrained when it comes to making menu recommendations and practicing some basic customer service skills. For first-timers, I recommend reviewing the menu online and reading reviews to decide what you want before you get there. 2) Cleanliness: there is a fruit fly/gnat problem in this restaurant. You will see at least 2-3 during the course of a meal. I know it's hard to keep them at bay in the STL climate, but come on, y'all! Consistently sticky tables and dirty floors will do that.
google avatar

Darnell S.

Yelp
Food is super over hyped not a big fan of the dishes that we got cool experience non the less will say even tho they were super sweet the crab Rangoon's were the best part of the meal

Christopher M.

Yelp
Hate to do this. Over priced and small portions. Veggie spring rolls were most definitely previously frozen. 4 dollars for an extra egg is high way robbery. Lack luster flavor in soups. The hostess/lady hounded me about getting a water cup literally 90%full of water and a tiny splash of lemonade because they don't have lemon slices. Like they are hurting after 35 dollars for a ramen and crappy veggie spring rolls. Won't be recommending or coming back here.
google avatar

Money F.

Yelp
Great ramen! Best in St. Louis in my opinion! I love that the menu offers options but is also concise enough for the business to be able to specialize in each dish which makes the food taste great! We ordered the Hebrew Hammer and the Tantanmen. 5 stars!! The broth is fantastic. I've also tried the Miso Spicy. So delicious. The service is CRAZILY fast. By the time you order and choose a seat, the waiter is coming with your bowl! It's self serve drinks and other condiments. Very cozy spot for any day, nice playlist in the background and again, GREAT FOOD.
google avatar

Matt M.

Yelp
My first visit to new house and did not disappoint. The spring rolls and sauce were delicious, and I had the classic noodle bowl. What a great experience in environment. The ambience is plain and quiet. Would highly recommend.
google avatar

Jeremy C.

Yelp
Great noodles and good ramens, not a huge fan of the pho but it's not bad. Service is fast and you order at the counter, then they bring the food to your table. Always gets a little busy around lunch and dinner, great vibes.
google avatar

Danielle F.

Yelp
Awesome spot for quick bite! We came in on a Friday night and service was friendly and efficient. Our time from ordering to eating was less than 8 minutes. Interior seating has spaces for larger (6-8) groups too and though the space was generally full, my boyfriend and I could still easily have a conversation without drowning in background noise. My bf got the curry ramen with fried pork (great flavor and definitely recommend) and I had a kids beef ramen, the kale noodle appetizer, and kim chi. All dishes were flavorful and customer service was excellent! The beef ramen broth was a little sweet rather than savory (not in a bad way just a heads up in case you prefer savory; I put the kale noodle appetizer in with the ramen and actually loved the combination).
google avatar

Kristen H.

Yelp
First night in St. Louis for our anniversary, and we wanted noodles. This place did not disappoint at all! I got the Broccoli and Beef Noods and Husband got the Pho Deluxe and we shared a combo plate of spring rolls. Noodles were HOT and delicious, and we got our food like 2 minutes after being seated. Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Cho-Hee S.

Yelp
The ramen was incredible!! It was spicy ramen and i wish I could go back in time and eat it over and over again. A full five stars. The papaya salad was so unflavored I ended up not eating it. The kimchi was good though! It was a little sweet and gingery and I'm not sure it had any garlic? But I still ate it anyways! There aren't any servers - you order at the front kiosk and they bring to your table. They also give you take away stuff to package it up for home.
google avatar

Ed D.

Yelp
My daughter wanted Pho so she recommended coming here. Walked in and it was very easy to order. There's ample seating inside. Very open area with high ceilings. The chicken pho was very tasty and a little sweeter than other pho I've had from other Vietnamese restaurants. I really liked the chicken Banh mi sandwich on French bread. Prices were ok. Service was good.
google avatar

Maria M.

Yelp
My 8 year old boys give it 5 stars. The food was delicious and the service was good. The noodles were tasty. My 11 year old did not like her pho. She said it was a little sweet. But she ate the whole thing and she's moody so ‍ I got the coconut curry ramen with the chicken and it was very tasty with the perfect amount of spice. Would definitely come back and try again!
