Beautiful and nostalgic tea house filled with charming vintage elements. The atmosphere is calm and elegant, with every detail—from the teapots to the décor—evoking a sense of timeless grace. A perfect spot to slow down, sip tea, and soak in the tranquil ambiance.

Wonderful experience!! The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was lovely. The food was delicious and fresh when it was brought to us and the teas were fantastic. I enjoyed the butterscotch tea so much we brought a bag home with us. There are plenty of options just make sure to make a reservation.

Me and my gal pals had such a comfortable experience. We didn't feel rushed. It was a pleasant fun space. The Teas were delicious! We got 4 pots, 4 different teas. They so many to choose from. Then we finished with a bottle of peach sparking wine. The cookies, desserts and tea sandwiches were all so amazing. Only question I have is if we can purchase the tea pots the tea was served in. The tea sets were gorgeous and cute!

Very nice experience. The tea room is reservation only, so you'll need to book in advance. The Saturday menu is set for the Victorian tea, which was what we were interested in, so that worked out. They provided us with two teas along with the food. They also promptly gave us refills on the teas when we drank it all. Staff was friendly, and it was a quiet environment, perfect for a small meet up with friends. Just outside the tea room is a large selection of tea pots and cups to purchase if you'd like to take some home. It is not exactly an authentic English tea experience, but I expected that considering the location, and the fact that high tea/afternoon tea isn't really popular in the US. It's still a nice place to go to, and one of the few places that provide the service here.

My friends and I went here for weekend Victorian tea, it was a wonderful experience. The food was absolutely delectable. Loved the scone. We had a great time here.

It appears that they are not having an option for tea time and everyone gets there highest tea set. It starts with the house tea unless you ask otherwise. I would ask for a different tea because the one they served was lukewarm. It is their house tea but I was not a fan. The scone came next and it was the beat thing we ate there. It was warm with a crusted exterior and flaky soft center. We got a second pot of tea and chose earl grey which was standard and good. The savory course was freshly made but my friend had an issue with too many cheese items as her allergies were not assessed prior. The sweet course at the end was standard petit fours and shortbread cookies. I was not a fan of the cheesecake bites. I would probably not come back.

My party of 5 were new here. We were so excited! Since our party was big we were offered the two tables in the back to choose from. Little sis we know that it would effect our service. The kitchen it to the front as the items came out we were one of the last to be served. The first tea tasted great but It wasn’t steeped prior to being served. I won’t go into to many details of what went wrong with the service however I will say that for a first time it wasn’t a lovely experience. I am grateful to the staff for serving us when they could and answering our questions.

Yelp
Everything was so good!! Tyme for Tea is located in Niles Fremont. There are plenty of free parking whether it's street parking or at the plaza parking lot across the street. I was able to book my reservation for afternoon tea via email where I provided my name, date and time, and how many people and I got a confirmation pretty fast! Staff were super nice, we were greeted immediately. We were the second group to arrive so we were able to pick our seating. But it was pretty much empty on a Saturday at 11am. I think one other person came after us. They immediately brought out two teas for us to try. I can't remember what the blends were, but I remember one having kiwi and the other one having cinnamon. The kiwi one was my favorite out of the two. The scones came out first and I absolutely loved it. It was made fresh. And the cream and apricot cream thing was delicious! This definitely had to be one of my top four things I ate here. Then we picked our teas which were spiced apple, spiced peach, and the strawberry one. The spiced peach was the one that I chose and I loved it until I tried the strawberry one. I am a simple girl and I typically drink jasmine tea but I thought I would expand my horizon by drinking fruit teas and the strawberry one was such a surprise. It very much had a strawberry taste, and it was naturally sweet without having to add any sugar. This had to be my favorite tea out of the five that I tried. Our tier came out and on the top we had cucumber sandwiches, the middle we had some sort of spinach pastry and something with mushrooms in it. The bottom tier had some sort of cheese bread and I believe a chicken salad sandwich. Everything was served fresh and hot except for the sandwiches. As someone who does not like mushrooms, I thought that pastry thing was actually pretty good as well as the spinach pastry and the cheese bread. I am not a a fan of cucumbers, so I thought it tasted okay but I did enjoy the chicken salad sandwich. Lastly, desserts, we had shortbread, a blueberry chocolate cup, and these little cake things. They were all a surprise to me and pretty good. I didn't realize how soft the shortbread was going to be. As someone who is not the biggest fan of dark chocolate, I thought the blueberry, cream, chocolate cup blended very well with each other. And out of the 3 cubed cakes, I got the one with red velvet inside, which is my all time favorite. I think the other two were chocolate and carrot cake. I wish I paid a little more attention when the staff was telling us what was what. I could see how this could be an issue for some people, but I loved that the staff let us enjoy ourselves. We didn't really need them to check up on us because we were chatting our ears off. I also love that they provide the cost on their website which includes tax and a service charge so we knew exactly how much we were going to be billed and was not surprised when we got the bill. All in all, we had an amazing experience and I can't wait to come back. I also bought my first tea cup set here years ago and still use it to this day!

Yelp
My first experience having a three-course high tea! I visited Tyme For Tea & Co for a friend's birthday and was pleasantly surprised by how beautifully decorated the inside was. We started with Pumpkin Spice and Chai tea. Out of the two, most of us preferred the Chai. The Pumpkin Spice tea tasted more like cinnamon than anything else. We also tried the "Cauldron Witches Blood" sparkling cider, made with berry syrup. It was good, but definitely on the sweeter side. For the small bites, my favorite was the Turkey Jack Slider. It was simple but packed with flavor from the Dijon mustard. The turkey and pepper jack cheese on the soft slider buns were delicious, and the portions overall left me extremely full and content. My only complaint was the service. It felt a bit lacking, as the servers filled only half our group's water and drinks, leaving the other side without refills.

Yelp
My boyfriend's first high tea experience was here! He told me how he wanted to visit the Niles area because his coworker recommended for him to visit. I've been to Niles before a few times in the past with friends, and it's a old timey little town area full of vintage stores I remembered. He saw that they have a high tea place so we went there around 12:40pm. We didn't have reservation, but the host said that we can be seated with 1:00pm. There was only 1 or 2 tables of people at the time in that place. My bf and I browsed around their store and checked out the neat trinkets. Then we were seated. They didn't give us any menus and just brought two pots of teas for us to have. I asked him can we not select our teas, and he said that we can, but to try these and if we don't like them then I can select another. He left us with two different tea pots, which I don't really remember what exact flavors they were as this was back in June. I think one was a sort of fruity tea while another has a bit more spice to it. When the server came back, I told him that I wanted to get the Lavendar Dreams tea as I had my eye on that one of all the flavor of teas they offer. It took them awhile to bring me my pot of tea because they forgot about it, and we asked about it when one of the servers while by. I liked the Lavendar Dreams tea, but I usually prefer rose flavor tea whenever I go to high tea places. I still didn't like how they didn't give us a menu initially to let us a pick our teas. My boyfriend ended sticking with one of the teas that they gave us. He said that he's okay with the sort of fruity one. They brought out the tray with the food, which I didn't like the tray because it's not the iconic layout with each layer tier. The bottom two layers are just on the same level while with one high tier. The sandwiches were pretty good so was the scone. I didn't like the pastries because it was either too sweet or has an off-taste about it. The place is very vintage style and reminding me of Victorian, which their tea set is called "Victorian Tea." Very fitting. I like the tub of vintage hats and fascinators (just learn that word recently from the Floor show! Lol). So cute! Great for putting on for photos. Pricing was $45 which is not bad. Other places that I've been to were about $65 per person, but better quality so I get the price difference. I'm glad that my boyfriend got to experience high tea now, and I did have a lovely time with him regardless. I just know there are better high tea places elsewhere because of my past experiences at them.

Yelp
We absolutely adore Tyme for tea! My girlfriends and I have been patrons for many years and each time we visit it's very special. We love all the little delights, from the cute decor, to the shop our front, to the lovely cozy vibe of the tea house. We love it. My personal favorites are the scones! And the teas are delightful. Service is always incredible here too. Support small businesses!!

Yelp
Enjoy a 3-tiered lunch with scones, savories and sweets, tea, optional champagne, great service and some hats and scarves for dress up if that's your thing. I have been here many times and even bring tour groups here for lunch. The food is plentiful, delicious and the shop in the front of the cafe is charming with a changing inventory. There were men in my tour group yesterday and one went out of his way to tell me how much he enjoyed the lunch and place. So, don't think only women go here. Explore the Essanay Silent Film Museum a 1/2 block away, visit antique shops on Niles Boulevard, walk the historic district of homes built in the 1910s and have a wonderful lunch with generous servings and tasty treats. It's a great way to experience some of the local treasures of this region. Just go there.

Yelp
Had a nice tea here today celebrating a dear friend's Birthday! We were welcomed and seated in a charming table setting, greeted by our server who was attentive and charming. We choose the Victorian tea with champagne which was so tasty. There is a variety of choices...Bellini, Mimosa and a peach champ cocktail! How fun!!! The scones were amazing and the tea rear was filled with so many tasty bites of goodness. We enjoyed our time here! We will be back

Yelp
Staff was nice. Quality of food was lacking compared to the price. Desserts seemed store bought and super sweet. The cheese corn toast was odd. Scone was tasty.

Yelp
Five stars for the service and themed event for Halloween. I don't think I'd come back unless it was for an occasion though. Mainly because for the price I was expecting more. I guess to me the value want really there. But if you for for the experience itself and go with a group of good friends, you'll probably have a good time. Overall it was a cute experience. The food was just fine. Definitely set your expectations to have small bites throughout your reservation. The best drink option was the chai, while the pumpkin spice needed sugar and milk to give it some flavor. Other: Single use bathroom. Street parking and a parking lot across the street as another option. The Niles neighborhood itself is fun to walk around and explore. There are plenty of antique and thrift type stores to browse before or after.

Yelp
I've come here a few times through the years, and it hasn't lacked quality. Tea selection is vast, and for someone who enjoys savory over sweet, their sandwiches were *chefs kiss.* My favorite was the lemon curd and raspberry preserves with the scone!! So good, and the chicken sandwiches surprised me in a good way. The quirky ambiance makes for a vintage, cottage core Mad Hatter tea party vibe. Love it!

Yelp
What a wonderful experience we had. Outside of England maybe the best scones I've had . Served by thoughtful staff - perhaps the shortbread cookie could have been less crinkly but the taste was flavorful - yum yum yum I loved this local gem

Yelp
Long story short - great service, fine food, cute interior, but overpriced. We overall felt that the overall meal was good but not great - nothing to write home about. We ended up with a Pear tea and a Strawberry Kiwi tea, the former of which I liked a lot but the latter of which I did not. In case you are not generally a fan of fruit teas, be aware of this limitation. I am not sure if the tea selections change over time, but regardless we did not have a choice. Additionally, the food was not the best - fine, yes, but could have been fresher bread and slightly larger portions in my opinion. My friend and I had the Grand Sparkling Victorian Tea, which is listed on their website for $48, but we were charged $52 per person. I probably should have clarified if the prices were per person ahead of time, so just a heads up that that is how it works! Service was great, so no complaints there. The inside of the restaurant is very cutesy, and they have a tub of fancy hats you can wear if you want to dress up with friends!

Yelp
The atmosphere is lovely, something you would expect for an afternoon tea. Plus, the food is very good.

Yelp
I attended their Christmas high tea today and was pleasantly impressed. It was a set menu so we didn't have choices in the food. However I was able to order decaf tea since I don't drink caffeine. The food was good and the servers were nice. The only downside was we asked for more nonalcoholic beverages and they never served us. They also have only one toilet so be prepare to wait ! Overall would recommend

Nancy W.

Yelp
Staff was very good. However, for 110$ weekend tea, I was very disappointed. I told them I was vegetarian, but received a chicken sandwich. I had one scone, two little chocolates, a little cucumber sandwich. The scone was very good. Was it worth the price? No.

Katherine L.

Yelp
We were a party of 5. Cost was $60 per person . For the little amount of food we received And table setting of old vinyl table cloth , mismatch of plates and tea cups i don't feel I received what I paid for.value is no more than $25 . Never again !

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday afternoon. It's reservation only so call ahead of time. I found the decorations to be a little tacky though I did enjoy the box of hats. I thought it was annoying that they didn't let you choose your tea. The food itself was fine, though I didn't think it was that worth the price. Overall, there's better tea places in the Bay Area so I would not return.

Yelp
Disappointing. Have been many, many times over the last 15 years and referred many friends--but no longer. Used to be a cute but casual, inexpensive but tasty tea. Cut them slack during COVID and hoped they'd rebound but not the experience it used to be. The afternoon tea costs more for less. When I called to make the reservation, I asked if there would be more flexibility in the ordering like before COVID and was told yes but I didn't see it. Came on a Sunday right when they opened; not crowded--there were only two other small tables with customers. Pot of tea brought to table before ordering was cold and not a flavor either of us would drink; what a waste. Had to ask to order a different tea and only then given a menu. Had to ask for sweetener and 2 packets of Splenda were brought to the table for 2 pots of tea; after asking we received 3 packets of sugar. Where is the sugar bowl? I'm sure that would cost less than packets (no less sugar cubes). Had to ask for milk, too. These items are very standard fare at a tea; I should not have to ask. I also mentioned food intolerances when made reservation and they said that was not a problem (could get 2 of something else); when I reminded the waiter he appeared concerned that would be a problem. Ultimately, it wasn't (and hadn't been in the past) but just made us feel like we were being difficult to ask for basic sugar, milk, and the food substitutions we were told would be fine. The scone size was 2/3 of regular size and had little flavor. There used to be 5 desserts and used to be really good but now there were 3 and all but the brown sugar shortbread were flavorless. I like to support small businesses and really enjoy tea with friends but Tyme for Tea is no longer enjoyable, sadly.

Yelp
We came here for my sister's birthday and had a great time. The staff was very nice and accommodating, especially since I was pregnant at the time. The bathroom is very clean. The high tea was amazing with two different types of tea, different kinds of sandwiches and sweets. We got to enjoy our service on china. I like that they have cute hats available to wear. As much as I loved the tea service, it's the shop that sells me. They have the most beautiful tea sets (I came home with a pink one that has butterflies with it). They have a ton of different collectable and jewelry as well. I was even able to buy some scone mix that were the same ones that were severed with our tea. The loose tea was available too. I will be going back for more occasions.

Yelp
Such a delightful experience. The scone was nice and warm and was brought to us almost immediately upon sitting. The lemon curd was deliciously addicting. There were also a few other warm appetizers served, my favorite being the warm artichoke and spiniach dip puff pastry. Some other items included a crositini with sort of a jalapeno cheese spread on top, chicken salad tea sandwich, and warm quiche bite. My least favorite was surprisingly the cucumber sandwich, that seemed to be a bit dry and used more butter than cream cheese? I was so full I did not try the dessert but it included a shortbread cookie, a chocolate mousse whipped bite and another chocolate bite. The servers were very attentive however, the tea itself was just fine but I could have just not tried one that wowed me. Overall, a wonderful experience in a magical vintage town, I will be back!

Yelp
If you are in the mood to splurge and have a fun experience getting dressed up in your fancy pants and hats then this is a neat place to try! I made reservations the week before Valentine's Day and was super happy they had availability, as most of the time we forget to plan ahead. We were there first, right when they opened and the place was dead empty for a while, which seemed kind of sad. But eventually more tables filled up, which was nice to see, and made the place feel more festive. The service was fine, the girl answered all our questions about the menu since this was our first time having high tea anywhere! We ordered the menu option with the most stuff including a glass of champagne. We all 3 loved the tea we had, and the champagne. The scone with creme fraiche and raspberry butter was probably the best scone I've ever tried. I loved all the finger sandwiches (the cucumber sandwich had the best bread, and the others were so good too!) It was really filling, probably cause I had about a pot and a half of tea all to myself! My husband and daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! We used to come here years ago to shop their little booths, and we always wanted to try the tea room, and finally we can say we did!

Soumya R.

Yelp
Came to this place to give my cousin a good first time tea experience but I'm so upset that this was far from the great expectations I had...I have visited another tea place before which was outstanding and carried the same desire to have a good experience. First, the decorations for Christmas were cute. We were seated immediately although I noted that the place was kind of empty. We are vegetarian and they accommodated that but literally they gave all cucumber sandwiches that anyone could make at home. The bread with cheese felt sloppy and there was another savory that I couldn't finish because of how oily it was. Are there not more creative ways to cater to vegetarian customers?? The other tea place I went to had amazing options for vegetarians so it is definitely doable. The desserts felt like they were brought from a store and placed in front of us. None of the desserts seemed to be made in house, they were dry, and so sweet. Imagine picking up dessert from Walmart, that's how it felt like. For the price, we expected cakes or other good pastries, not dry shortbread, insanely sweet fudge, and the tiniest petit fours. The scones were good and so was the tea. Other than that, service was also friendly. I usually try not to give negative reviews but this experience for the price point (spent $109 for TWO people) was so disappointing. This tea place needs to do better with the food they serve.

Yelp
I was here a few years ago and it seems this place has circled the drain. When I booked NOBODY told me anything about a "set menu" on the weekend or overpriced, MEDIOCRE food and portions we would get for a Victorian tea. The place was almost empty, yet they "picked" two teas for us. Compared to a few years ago, the scones were not nearly as good. The food, other than scones which they served first (but who the hell serves the scones first?) took at least 30-40 minutes to arrive. The sandwiches were just cucumber and tuna sandwiches. Yuck. Terrible selection and the tuna was not good. They also served cheesy toast (WHY?) and very salty tiny quiches. Have they ever been to other afternoon tea places? They did not even bring 3-tier trays. It was a rip-off in nearly every way. This place deserves to close down if this is how they treat customers. Go somewhere else where your $100+ will go much much farther.

Yelp
I really like this place for mother's day they do a special, and it's perfect! They have great service nice decor. Great finger foods, and their scones are amazing with the flavored butter! They sell the delicious teas as well as the scone mix! Such a cute shop and we always have such a great relaxing time here. Definitely nice place to check out

Yelp
There is no place like Tyme for Tea! Ok, perhaps there ARE other places you'll find victorian tea but not like in downtown Niles. I've been taking my daughter here for years and it never gets old. Play the part and get dressed up - it truly adds to the experience! All tea is served on beautiful plate settings and there is a variety of tea that they offer. There is also a shop within the restaurant to which you can purchase plating of your own for use at home. It's really cute!

Yelp
GuaranTEA'd to have a fun time! Tucked in the heart of the old town, Niles, in Fremont, you'll find this quaint little tea house showcasing some of the most fine tea sets while serving a fun high tea experience. Located just across the old railroad parking lot which typically has an abundance of spots and is free to the public, you'll find Tyme for Tea. Enter and walk past the beautiful display of teapots, cups, dishes, and other ceramic goodies and you'll find the dining area. You'll need reservations so be sure to call ahead. Once you're checked in, you'll be seated in the dining room filled with decorations (we went during the month of October and this place was decked out with spooky Halloween props). Soak in the atmosphere as you peruse through the menu. The menu is quite simple. There are three sets: the one with the champagne, the one with the scone, and the lighter one with fruit. For most, you'll likely get the one with the scone, AKA the "Victorian". Each set comes with a choice of tea which will have its options fully outlined within the menu (there is a whole page dedicated to the different tea choices). Your choice of tea will depend on your flavor preference. There are caffeinated and decaffeinated options but naturally, there are more choices with the caffeinated teas. Depending on the flavor profile you're going for, you can choose something dark like an English Breakfast or Earl Grey, perhaps a tea with fruity notes, and even some that smell like chocolate. Whatever you choose, you'll get a whole pot of it which should amount to about 4-5 full cups. Also coming with each set are the sandwiches and pastries. Our meal included cucumber sandwiches, tuna sandwiches, a cheesy bread, a cheesy shell, and an artichoke swirl pastry. It was a good mix of hot and cold snacks which all amounted to a pretty decent lunch. Even if it doesn't, you will still get a good fill from the tea and the pleasant time you share in the tea house. TEA English breakfast - classic tea with a dark strong flavor. Belgian chocolate - chocolatey aroma was interesting! Never have I ever had a tea that smelled like chocolate. Honey jackfruit - fruity and refreshing. A bit too sweet for me. APPETIZER Scone with crème fraîche, raspberry preserves, and lemon curd - this was fun and worth the upgrade to Victorian. Each sauce was delicious and paired well with the warm, fluffy scone. ENTREE Cucumber sandwich - refreshing with sliced cucumbers encased in sliced white bread. Tuna sandwich - hearty tuna salad encased in sliced wheat bread. Artichoke swirl - nice crisp to the one bite morsel and packed with flavor. Should be eaten while it's warm! Cheese bread - melty cheese on bread should definitely be eaten soon after serving! Cheesy spinach shell - good bite sized crisp filled with cheese and spinach mixture. Again, eat while it's warm! DESSERT Cheesecake - decadent and smooth topped with crushed nuts. Delicious! Shortbread cookie - big, crispy on the edges and moist on the inside. Cake bites - assorted and very cute! Strawberry shortcake, carrot cake, chocolate, and black forest were among the choices. Overall, this was a fun experience. Pricey but worth the experience. My advice is to come in with the expectations of an experience and possibly a full stomach.

Yelp
We took the weekend service . I loved the ambience , service , the scones with the raspberry preserve and I think a lemon somthing . The savory stuff was just ok though I liked the spinach pinwheel and I believe the cheese toast . I did like the sweets a lot including the biscuit , the cream cheese sweets and the cake .

Yelp
This review is from my wife who she went with 2 of her girlfriends: Reservations were easy. But you just have to plan ahead and know that they don't open Monday and Tuesdays. We were immediately greeted when we walked in. The shop inside is cute with many trinkets, ceramics, tea sets and of course tea for sale. We had a great time overall enjoying our tea. But I just feel that though you are here for the "experience," it's quite pricey for the amount of food you get. Some even tasted like frozen items that they just stuck in the air fryer. The scone was best thing. Everything else was meh. I would also not coming during lunch. We made the mistake of coming for a late lunch at 1:30pm which was their last seating time, boy we were so hungry after! But it's also odd that they aren't open for the non-lunch hours.

Yelp
It has been several years since I've visited Thyme for Tea. I was very disappointed with the food served at the Mother's Day themed tea yesterday. It was a set menu which I was told beforehand. Tab was $68 per person w/o tip. Instead of their signature chicken pecan sandwiches, we were served a bland tuna sandwich on a Costco-like croissant. The Neapolitan petit four was ick, as was another savory bite of fishy crab puff. Acoustics were noisy as they were crowded. Services was a bright spot. Staff were courteous and welcoming. I won't be coming back though. It wasn't the experience I was expecting or had had in prior visits.

Yelp
Love this place! Great service and worth the money. My friend and I ordered 'Grand Sparkling Victorian Tea' which included a glass of champagne ( you can choose peach, mimosa or Bellini), warm scone, 5 sandwiched completed with 3 sweets. I thought I wouldn't be full but well I was so wrong, I couldn't even start the last course There were so many kinds of tea which I chose Darjeeling. It was served in a pot which was so strong but don't worry.... You can ask for more hot water They set up many spots for customers to take pictures which was fun. Decoration was really nice but I felt like if everything matched(for example tea pot and cup, utensils, table&chairs) , it would have been much more elegant. Plenty of parking spots nearby and souvenir shop inside is not too expensive Oh I forgot to mention that their sandwiches were so delicious!

Yelp
It's been about four years since I last dined at Tyme for Tea and there are definite changes. The savory second course tea sandwiches are still the same though. I made a reservation for 1:30pm on a Saturday. They have either 11:30am or 1:30pm seatings. Weekends have a fixed menu of Victorian Tea with 2 hot teas: Elderberry and Tyme for Tea blend. I believe the latter is a black tea, but wasn't sure about the berry. I was hoping each member of our party would be able to choose their own tea, but I did enjoy the house blend. They asked if we wanted milk, and sugar packets are available on the table. Most likely due to Covid precautions, they no longer have exposed sugar cubes and fabric napkins in fancy napkin holders. *Order a glass or bottle of peach champagne for an extra fee. We arrived 10 minutes late and as soon as we sat down, scones and teapots were immediately brought over to our table. Each plate had a scone triangle with dollops of creme fraiche, lemon curd, and raspberry preserves. I think the scone we had was fig. While we waited on our fourth guest, the savory course arrived 15-20 minutes later. Note that they do not ask about dietary restrictions. Two of my friends are vegetarian and we did not inform them, so four pecan chicken salad sandwiches were part of the savories. The menu online also mentions the course is not vegetarian. If you were to ask nicely, it's possible they can replace the non-veggie option. Tax & tip are already included in weekend pricing: $53.40/person. While service was actually very polite, it just felt rushed. They were nice in letting us know of their closure around 3:20pm. We had time after to take photos with the floral and lit up backdrop, plus shop around their antiques and tea sets. Savory tea sandwiches: Cucumber dill on white triangles Spinach cheese pinwheels Mushroom phyllo tartlets Jalapeño cheese baguettes Pecan chicken salad on wheat Sweets course: Mini pecan topped cheesecakes Shortbread Petit Fours almond flavored

Yelp
We've wanted to take our granddaughter to tea for years and there came an opportunity to do so a couple weeks ago. She is gluten free and I had some last minute questions, and Rita was wonderful in responding and providing responses. We started with a delicious GF chocolate and chocolate chip muffin which was wonderful - you'd never know it was GF! The savory items were delicious and creative (not GF), but since she isn't celiac we moderated on some GF and some non-GF. We were served 2 tea's that were house choices and we added one more of our own choosing. Given the extensive menu, I'd have preferred to have made all the choices ourselves. But they were still quite good. The decor is antique and quaint "tea-centric" and a little funky as it's set in the back of an antique shop. The service was attentive and well paced. We saw our granddaughter again a few days ago and she's ready to go back!

Yelp
An adorable location for tea with your friends and family. The simple menu is preset so no need to think about what you want. An assortment of sandwiches and sweets is served. There are hats if you forget one should you want a fun photo with your party. Your reservation is for 1.5 hours. There is also a store with vintage goodies for sale.

Yelp
Always love coming here. It's a cute place that is always decorated for the right occasion. They have a preset menu - for food and tea, if you wanted a different tea, you could ask for it. We were served a scone first - and when it was brought out it was still warm, which to me.. made it that much more yummy. It's served with some Devonshire cream, a bit of lemon custard and a jam. Tea sandwiches are delicious. Just the right amount to fill you up. One of us had a nut allergy, so they substituted for another sandwich in its place. Desserts were so good. The biscuit was my fave. Staff is friendly.

Yelp
Came here to try the actual tea service. The food was pretty much the same as when we ordered food during covid lockdown, except the hot treats came out piping hot. The scone was really out of this world good (they serve it hot and crumbly), and I absolutely loved their house tea, as well as the other tea that was served. The sandwiches were only okay - my husband thinks I make a better cucumber sandwich, but I do really enjoy the chicken salad sandwich. The hot sandwich offerings were pretty good and all dairy heavy- one of them, the baguette piece with cheese on top, was the only thing my toddler would eat. I also really enjoyed that cheesy goodness. However, if I hadn't been there with my picky non-crab eating toddler, I think that particular savory item would have been even better with some dungeness crab baked in it as well. The desserts were my least favorite part of the meal - the brown sugar shortbread didn't do it for me (not crumbly, more on the hard tough side) and the chocolate cupcake, while adorable, was too dry for my taste (though my toddler loved it). I enjoyed the mini cheesecake though- not too sweet, just the right size after a big meal, and complimented the tea well. On weekends, it appears you don't get the selection you do on the weekdays (set menu to the most expensive menu option, and you don't get to select the teas, but we were okay with this). They did offer to make (and did make) a hot chocolate in a tea pot with marshmallows for my 5 year old which he thoroughly enjoyed. I thought the service was just fine. They served everyone at the same time and didn't do it in the same order each time, but I was fine with that. The meal started at 1:30 and was paced for us to finish and get out of there by 2:30-3PM. OH - also, we were able to call the day of when they opened and get in for a party of 3 at 1:30PM, which is great if you are in the mood for an afternoon tea but didn't make reservations ahead of time. They actually had 2 other open tables (one for a party of 2, another for a party up to 4) during the service as well, so I imagine calling on the day of for the 1:30 service time is something anyone can have a try for). If we had planned it better, we could have hit up the farmer's market earlier in the day, then moseyed over to tea after hanging out at the train area for a little bit.

Yelp
I've been to Tyme For Tea twice! Both times I haven't had to be the one to make the reservation but I've been told to make a reservation as soon as you can because it can fill up fast. The place is quite cute and having your party dress for the occasion only adds to the tea time ambiance. It's a great place to try different types of teas with little delicious finger foods. My favorite tea is the watermelon hibiscus! We ordered two pots full. Everyone working was so kind! I definitely recommend giving it a try.

Yelp
The food was tasty and the teas were flavorful, but definitely not worth the price we ended up paying. The service was friendly, but no need for a 40% tip. EXTREMELY DECEPTIVE BILLING: The handwritten bill had one number on it with no explanation that the gratuity was included. Our server failed to mention this as well so we ended up adding an additional 25% tip onto a bill that already included a hidden 15% or 20% tip. Is it even legal in California to provide a bill that doesn't break down the cost of the food/drink, tax and gratuity?

Yelp
Solid 3.5 stars but according to friends who have come before things are drastically not the same, service wise and selection wise so rounding down for now. My friend was able to call in for a Sunday 11am reservation so I made the drive over. I arrived a few minutes before 11 and there were lots of people outside milling about. The store looked closed with lights out and i found out from a vendor outside that the employees had just run into the store a few minutes before. Once my friends arrived we were promptly seated. However our table was completely empty which my friend said is different as they usually have place settings out. I wasn't sure if it had to do with them trying to also get the big bridal shower party situated or if this was just how they did things. We had to sit for a while before being approached with our tea cups. However we were not informed upon seating (or when my friend made the reservation) that it was a set menu. So we sat for a bit lost and confused. We were soon brought two types of tea--signature blend which was a bit too busy flavor wise for us and I believe a boysenberry which we liked better. My friend wanted a decaf tea which they did bring out the tea menu for her to pick from. But that also left us wondering if we could also pick from something not decaf as another option since we didn't like the signature blend. Fast forward to when we got a very tasty scone served with dollops of the side fixings. We had to request for extra dishes of cream and lemon curd. Then we sat for a while longer and the tray came out. My friends had to pop a lactaid due to how dairy rich the offerings were. I did like all the savory items but by the time the sweets came we were quite full. They offered to bring boxes for anything else we wanted and we chatted some more before realizing we were the only ones left. While I left satisfied belly wise the experience was confusing. Maybe I should try on a weekday and see if it's still a set menu or if we have options

Yelp
I came here yesterday with my friends to enjoy a belated birthday outing since we wanted to have a nice high tea experience. The place has a cute front store filled with beautiful teapots, cups/saucers, both antiques & collectibles etc... The tea place is behind this and the four of us enjoyed the two types of teas presented in their Victorian Tea. The service was friendly and the teas were tasty. My friend and I had ordered the gluten-free option which we were grateful for the choice. However, it wasn't anything extraordinary. The chocolate muffin tasted similar to something I buy at Trader Joe's and for dessert we had ice cream with a madeleine. We did enjoy the pecan crusted chicken sandwiches, but the cucumber dill sandwiches were dry (both for gluten and non gluten) with very little spread which was disappointing. For the gluten versions, the choices were better and for the most part enjoyable. The price tag was steep at about $58/pp. I wouldn't recommend the gluten-free option for the price paid though. I asked my companions about their opinion on the gluten options and they also wouldn't recommend it for the price paid. During these colder winter days, make sure to dress warmly since there is not a lot of heat in this older building.

Yelp
This place really needs to make some changes. I'll start with the positive. Our server was excellent. He was really accommodating and very friendly. The staff in general is just great. But for spending that much for 'high tea' I'd expect a bit more than melted cheese on days old bread. The sandwiches were so bad I'm sorry to say. Chunky cucumbers on barely there cream cheese on dry white bread. The desserts looked like they came in a multipack from Safeway. And the tea came out cold with no tea cozy to keep it warm. It was just a mess. The decor too. I felt like I was in a preschool classroom where today's theme was tea party. Their decor is just messy and makes no sense. It felt like someone's grandma threw together a bridal shower from the dollar tree (no offence to grandmas buying dollar tree party supplies. I do it too) This place needs a huge makeover. Food and decor. Unfortunately there's not too many tea places in this area so I'm sure people go there for the novelty since there's a lack of options. But drive out a bit further and you'll find some great tea places that have the same 'British tea' vibe I assure you.

Yelp
This Tea House in the quaint town of Niles, Ca. has become our favorite spot for a Tea House experience. The food is always exceptional with friendly and caring service. Enjoy the 100 year old building with an antique shop in front and many other antique stores on the block.

Yelp
Food: majority store bought Service: needs a lot of improvement Note: As Seniors we were over charged. When calculating the bill after the tea party I discovered we had truly been cheated out of $93.00. My first time and last. LOOK elsewhere for Tea Time.

Yelp
Cute little place in Niles. Be sure to make reservations in advance as this place gets busy! Met a girlfriend here for tea and it was a cute place to catch up with an old friend. The service was great - as soon as we sat down, we were served two types of flavored black teas and a scone each. As we finished, a tray of sandwiches and cheese bread was brought out. The cheese bread was a little too cheesy and salty for my liking. Lastly, we were served some sugar cookies with chocolates. A lot more food than I was expecting so bring an appetite! I also liked the cute store where you could purchase vintage mix and match tea cups and plates. This is a great place for kids, catch up with friends or a celebration!

Yelp
Ambiance: 3/5 - looks like an old antique shop. More quirky and quaint than cute. Decor felt a bit old and mismatched. Some fresh flowers would really brighten up this place. Teapots and mugs were really cute though and I loved the bunny design for Easter. Food: 3/5 - scone was served hot, and tray of sandwiches was pretty good. I liked the dill on the cucumber sandwich, but it needed more cream and more cucumber. The artichoke crostini was my fave, but was a little too heavy on the cheese for my sister. I don't like that they choose two teas for you and automatically bring it to your table. I was not a fan of the caramel vanilla tea or the strawberry kiwi. They eventually let us order our own tea from the menu, but why not let us start off with doing that so we avoid getting teas we don't want? Dessert was not good, and my friend actually had to spit out the petit four it was so cloyingly sweet. Service: 2.5/5 - the two gentlemen working there were nice, but didn't really come over to check on us much or offer to give us fresh tea. Our teas got cold after 45 min and we did not get fresh pots. They also sat us down without really explaining to us how the menu or ordering system works so we were a little confused at first. The bathroom wasn't working while we were there and though they said it would be fixed in 10 minutes, it never got fixed so we had to use the public restroom outside. Overall: 3/5 - still had a lovely time with my friends despite the odd decor and spotty service. The food and tea wasn't enough to have my running back for more.

Yelp
If you have not been you are in for a treat. I love that the food is made in-house. No mass produced treats. The sandwiches are yummy, I do love the chicken salad and toasty cheesy toast. The treats are great too. I was there in March to celebrate a birthday and we had such a great time.

Yelp
Heads up, the menus on the website are not up to date and they are sometimes restrained to only having certain kinds of tea available. At the time I made reservations, there was only Victorian Tea available and it is $45 per person, not $35. Also, you do not actually get your choice of tea, it's chosen for you. In general, the menu's pretty set now. Not that we minded the two teas they chose for us, but it's worth noting if that's what you're looking for or want to discuss it with them. They very much want you to make reservations ahead of time, and the only way to do that is to call them. The main thing is you have to call during their opening hours and weekend spots are likely to be scarcer to get last minute. Especially Saturday spots. I didn't have a problem doing so and they were absolutely lovely when helping me make arrangements. There is also a dollar minimum for order per person. If there is a birthday, the person gets a little cake on a tiny, cute plate so remember to ask. Tyme For Tea & Co is located on the corner of the set of buildings along Niles Town Plaza. There's diagonal street parking in front but, if those are taken (because of the Niles Saturday Farmer's Market) try Town Plaza Parking lot across the street or down H Street. There's usually plenty of space along the latter that's so close to the storefront. The store itself is half an antique shop, so feel free to go in and browse. This set of buildings is pretty old, historical, and long, so it's actually a lot bigger inside than it looks. Overall, it's a lot of food and a lot of tea for each person lol. Very filling and cute. Very much a small, local thing in a cute, vintage, antique shop. More afternoon tea and a tea party kind of setting rather than high tea. I found the mismatched tea sets to be very charming, and a lovely family business. Major thing is that it is a bit of a hit-or-miss kind of place though. It's an experience and very much in tune with the historical feel and all the antique stores around here, so it really depends on what kind of afternoon/morning tea you're looking for.

Yelp
A friend invited me to tea time and I was so glad that she did. We had reservations for Sunday morning and upon arrival, were several others also waiting for their reservations. The front of the store is a tea shop where you can purchase any tea sets at various amounts of all sorts. It was almost a fun mini museum as we walked through to get to the back while we "ahh' and "ooh'd'' at everything we walked back. You get to the back and there are several tables, chairs and seatings of different sorts. Mix-matched chairs, and couches of various colors and sizes. We were seated right away at our table and immediately tea time began. We had 2 pots of tea and a glass of mimosa on top of the pastries that were given to us. Everything that they brought to our table was so delicious and tasty. I didnt think I would get full off the small bites but I was so stuffed at the end! Apparently they had a tub, yes-you read that right. A TUB full of hats to wear during tea time but it was not available during our reservations. I had such an amazing time that I hope to come back in the future - hopefully the tub of hats will be available.

Yelp
I really liked everything! On the weekends, it's a set menu. The savory treats that were cheesy were cheeeeeesy which I loved.

Yelp
It's a cute little joint. I think I like the store front more than the actual place. It's cute but feels dirty. The scones were delightful last time I was there. The tea experience overall was ok. They have hats for people to try on to drink and look pretty in their attire, and my kiddo loves that. 3 stars tea experience, 4 stars store front.

Yelp
Cute tea shop in downtown Fremont in historic Niles, full of antiques. Shop the store for antique or new tea goodies from cups/saucers to teas to scone mixes. Afternoon tea here starts with their special blend tea, after which you can also select from a long list of teas from black, green, white and various blends. Right now they are only serving the 3 course afternoon tea which is served course by course. Spring for the champagne option, which can also include mimosa or bellinis if you prefer. At the courses were delicious from the fresh scones, to the 5 savory items to the dessert course. The service was friendly and accommodating. Be careful they have increased their afternoon tea prices (by almost 30%!) and it is higher than what is shown on their website and on the physical menu provided to you at check-in. Apparently they did advise us of the price change on the phone when we made reservations but it really bothers me that they didn't bother to update the website or even slap on a sticker or simple note in their menu about the new prices. I'd say the original prices are very fair with the expedience but it's a little expensive at the new prices, relative to the competition, where I think the execution is a lot stronger. I did enjoy the curation of cute items in the store but also found those slightly overpriced as well. Overall food was tasty and service was good. I wouldn't trek across the bay again for this tea shop but worth a check out if you're in the area. There are no outside tables here as of Sept'21 but plenty of parking nearby on the street.
