food is really good and authentic!! Prices are on the higher end, but their portions are also really big (like 1.5 serving size). it’s clean inside but the interior gives off a creepy vibe lol.

Went to Hansung BBQ with my wife and toddler on a peaceful Sunday evening ~6.30pm to get a nice dinner after grocery shopping. We were immediately seated and the restaurant was very empty. I remember there were only 2 tables and 2 waiters. We ordered the Hansung Galbi since it was the most recommended choice on Google Maps, which was $54.99. The waiter confirmed the portion for 2 pax. I did not read carefully that the price was “per pax” but my wife mentioned she read it (My bad). The food was immediately prepared to be cooked on charcoal and the meat being cut (I thought that we could cook it ourselves on the grill, given that’s how most KBBQ joints operate) - so we were “eating with our eyes” and the smell was good. Everything was served at a fast pace - The speed at which the server prepared the food made me felt like I was rushing to catch a flight/train, even though the restaurant was very empty. Once the galbi was cooked and cut - everything was kept, such as the charcoal and the grill etc. My wife and I were slightly annoyed by the fast pace of service as we just wanted to take our time to enjoy our dinner while handling/feeding a toddler. My wife and I were puzzled why this is so. The “complementary” dessert (sugar water with a few brown rice grains?) and bill was brought to our table before we had the chance the finish our delicious food i.e. ~ 5 to 10mins after the food was all prepared/served. I put my credit card on the bill so that can process ASAP and they did come back with the final bill for the tip while we were still consuming our meal. The waiter came to our table twice/thrice to check if the tip was written - I was very annoyed and confused about the rush. So as soon as I managed to finish my food, I wrote the tip and final bill amount. (I gave 15% because we were very annoyed by the pace of service and am very confused about the rush when the restaurant was so empty, to which I understand why now.) Long story short: The waiters expect 18% tip on the post-tax bill and we were “strongly suggested” by the waiters several times to give that amount. My wife informed me that she heard both the waiters complaining in korean about the our tip after “rejecting” the final bill several times (looking at the amount and putting it on the table), while I was at the restroom. We were very shocked by the waiter’s response. This is the first time we were pressured to tip more than we wanted to. Safe to say this will be our first and last time at Hansung BBQ after such an experience.

Here on vacation and randomly googled to find this Korean joint nearby. Decided to give it a try and it was pretty legit. Guess I can say that since I’ve lived in Seoul for 3 years and know when it is authentic. Meats were good, with the exception of the brisket where it would be nicer if fattier. Banchan was ok though the braised beef certainly stood out. The smell of bbq meat is therapeutic 😊

A Korean BBQ joint that uses actual wood charcoal cannot go wrong. You have the primary element that makes any meat and grilling great. Yet, Hansung fails to completely mesmerize. And the reason is the meat. Let's start with the atmosphere. It's somewhat like a hybrid between a night club, a dungeon, reeking of burnt coal. You feel like you're going to get cancer the moment you step in. Good scent though. Who doesn't like grilled meat? Next, the service. Like any decent Korean BBQ, the server swings by, grills the meat, and cuts it up for you. No qualms here. The lady was friendly. My only issue is she kept on not getting us soy sauce. I can see that they have soy sauce as it appears in other food. But she somehow couldn't bring us a bit on the side. Now let's talk about the meat. First, no matter what you do, you must use fresh, high quality beef. The Hansung galbi was the only saving grace but with thinly sliced rib meat marinated in soy and sugar, you really can't go wrong here. So again, galbi was great. The wagyu ribeye. Definitely avoid. This was tough as a cardboard sponge. There is no way this was a wagyu-grade ribeye, let alone being fresh. And they don't marinate it at all, which means they are banking on completely the meat to be flavorful. A complete fail and waste of money here. Finally we also had the gopchang, the small intestines. Comes again, completely unmarinated... and this is really tough to pull off as the intestines are tough, unflavorful, etc. All they had to do is marinate it with their galbi sauce but again, they seem to not really be tasting their own food. Hansung is a disappointment in many aspects. And they're not that cheap either. Unless you are coming to get hammered here with soju and need a bit of protein on the side, I don't think I'll be coming back.

Felt very pressured to leave even though the place was barely half full with the servers wanting to cook everything right away before we just started the first dish. Otherwise, the BBQ and side dishes tasted great. Old school vibe. Big empty parking lot with not many other stores in the plaza.

Love how they do the BBQ'ing for you at the table and each piece of meat is grilled to the perfect doneness! We were just busy eating from start till the end. Service is superb and it justifies the price they charge. The cold refreshing buckwheat soba noodle pairs perfectly with the savory BBQ meats.

One of the few Korean restaurants in the Bay Area that still uses charcoal instead of propane, and it makes a big difference for the taste! Lots of good bonchon, and the meat sauces are good as well. Very efficient service, and plenty of parking.

Good service and tasty meats but I don't feel it's worth the price. Each order of meat is quite pricey and though the quality is good I don't think it's good enough to justify how expensive it is compared to the numerous AYCE places that have comparable taste and many more options. We ordered the wagyu ribeye steak ($49), prime brisket ($28.99), and pork belly (27.99). The ribeye and brisket were both really good. I especially liked the ribeye which was super tender, juicy, and melts in your mouth. But I wasn't super impressed with the pork belly which won't be directly grilled on your grill unless you order 2+ and just tasted like any other pork belly you could order for cheaper elsewhere. The difference I guess is the meat here is cooked with a charcoal grill.

One of the OG K-BBQ around the area that uses charcoal to barbecue the meats. It was my first time to have the meats cooked in charcoal at a KBBQ place and I must day it adds that extra charred taste to the meats in a good way. The meats were decent. Tried the chicken and the beef brisket. Both were good. I also like that they cook the meats for you. The sides were also the staple sides you get in a KBBQ place. There weren't also a lot of main dishes and a la carte on the menu. We tried the fried fish and it was decent and crunchy. Service was fast. There weren't a lot of people during Friday lunch. The ambiance is a bit on the OG side as well, also located in a not so busy center. If you haven't been here, you definitely must try the charcoal cooked meats.

I called 7pm on a Saturday (11/29/2025) and asked how long the wait for a walk in was. They said it was short and to come. I told them I would come around 8pm and if that was okay. They said it was fine, and the line would be short. My drive was 60 minutes and I showed up anddddd they're closed (early!!!!) .... I was NOT happy. I wouldn't have minded if they were closed and straight up told me, but they just told me that they would be open (AND their hours online say they go until 9!!!). I just thought it was crazy that I showed up at 8pm for dinner on a Saturday after calling to confirm and they lied to me... but yeah. Didn't get to try their food. I am sure the food itself is still good, but terrible service lol (if you even count that as service)

Really great food, friendly service and a wide range of options. They actually use charcoal for the grill which is enjoyed a lot more than a hot plate. Decor is minimal but clean. Will absolutely be back.

This is our favorite Korean bbq restaurant for years! We have been getting it to-go the last few times and the quality is still good and portions are a good size. U also get a container with all the sides too so you don't miss out on anything if you get it to-go!

We usually have Korean BBQ at AYCE spots. We wanted to try something different and we expected a better experience with higher end meats and appetizers. Seafood pancake: Crsipy with nice flavor. It didn't look like it was packed with a lot of seafood. Size is more on the thin side compared to other pancakes we've had at other places. Prime brisket: There wasn't a lot of marbling so the meat would taste dry if not eaten soon after leaving the grill. Taste was average. The brisket sauce helped add flavor. Marinated short rib: This was the star of the show. This choice had the best flavor, texture, and mouth feel. One of the best short ribs we've had to date. Bibimbap: This choice was just ok. No rice included, so the rice provided with the meats had to supplement this entree. Service: The waitress cooked the brisket and short ribs relatively fast. We felt rushed to consume it after leaving the grill, else it would get cold and placing it back on the grill ourselves would overcook it and dry it out. Wifey noticed similar service to the table next to us. When I was found cooking the meat myself, she would quickly come to the table and resumed cooking. It may be their policy to do the cooking since the coals were very hot. The amount of foil provided around the grill wasn't enough to accommodate the amount of cooked meat. Some pieces would slide off the foil onto the table top. Ambiance is casual. No need to dress to impress. Yoir clothes can still smell despite having overhead exhausts above the grill. If you are used to grilling your own meat and eating at your own pace, then this place isn't for you. We had higher expectations given our experience with AYCE KBBQ spots. We won't return overall, it was an average experience.

This review is for a large group dining. We show up without reservations and have a party for 10. They are very accommodating and service is good! We have short rib, LA galbi, beef tongue and shrimps. Server cooked the food patiently for us. The vent is just above the grill but we smell like grilled meat anyway. It feels chilly to sit there and a bit too noisy. Parking is easy and they take credit card. Food quality is good. Please ask for forks otherwise you only get chopsticks. Dessert is a rice water, that I am not impressed.

Honestly such a hole in the wall! I've lived in Santa Clara County for about 5 years now and this is my first time visiting Han Sung BBQ. We ordered steamed egg and it had so much flavor unlike other places where it would be bland. We also ordered brisket, galbi, bulgogi, and whole squid and those did not disappoint. Our meal came with traditional side dishes and rice and servers would cook our meat over charcoal giving it such an authentic flavor. A gem tucked in a plaza with lots of parking spaces and great service is definitely worth your visit.

One of the only korean charcoal bbq restaurants left! Always enjoy han sung's kalbi and definitely recommend this place, especially for large parties! It's never too crowded and the ladies are pretty helpful.

If you are looking for Korean traditional bbq with charcoal, this is the place to go. Unfortunately, it's not all you can eat. But the charcoal makes a big difference in terms of taste. The naengmyeon was delicious as well. Plenty of banchan and good service. They helped grilling the meat for you.

I've only been here once and it'a definitely one of my favorite in the Bay! My boyfriend and I stopped by on a Saturday night around 6 pmish and we were seated immediately. Shortly after, more and more people came in so I would definitely come by early if you can. The service was great! All the staff members were super sweet and they assisted with the cooking. We ordered three bbq items + steamed eggs for the two of us and it perfectly filled us up. We also had two beers and everything came out to around $202. The ventilation is also really good and there's space between each table so it doesn't get too smokey in the restaurant. The beef quality was immaculate and one of the best in the area. The charcoal also gave the meat more flavor than a regular gas grill. A lot of reviews have give the restaurant lower ratings due to the price of the meats, but I highly believe the quality of the meat justifies the price. Honestly, if you can't afford quality meats just go to Gen LOL. My favorite meat I've ordered would be their wagyu rib-eye. The bbq items came with ban chans, soups, salad and rice. I would definitely return back here in the near future and I would love to try their non-bbq items!! Thank you ladies for the wonderful dinner :)

First time for dinner and came with two colleagues. We got there around 5pm (early for a usual dinner crowd) and were the only ones there. Being the only ones in the restaurant, the staff kept asking us to order when we clearly hadn't even had a chance to review the menu. We ordered after about ten minutes just so they'd leave us alone. We chose three meats for the charcoal bbq. The meat cuts and portions were decent, not great but not paper thin like other Korean bbq places. However I was disappointed in the minimal banchans (six varieties). I could keep my expectations in check for banchans, but after we asked for the second refill of lettuce (to wrap the meat in), the server literally mumbled "oh my god" and walked away to get extra lettuce. The attitude in rushing us to order and grief when refilling the lettuce (to eat the $130 we spent on meat!) warrants the two stars. I don't plan to return.

It is sad. The K food (The real K food, not Instagram-hyped, short-lived or ridiculously priced) scene is dead in Nor Cal. 1. Two orders min. for BBQ - I understand. Inflation. You need to pay your employees. Math doesn't work to run a mid-size restaurant when new, hyped places are popping up. Me and my friend ate there because the place we wanted to go had long wait list. This was understandable but still started off with bad taste in my mouth. 2. 차돌 cannot be cooked in the grill on the table because??? - I also understand. Inflation again. You chose to cut corners and save cost. However, who wants to pay $100+ for cold BBQ meat? As I was chewing on the meat with small selections of side dishes, I promised myself to never come here for BBQ. I have lived in the Bay Area since the mid 1990s. I have visited this place many times, but this visit was it. I truly wish you the best and hope you survive.

I used to come here a lot as I enjoy the charcoal flavored bbq here. Not every Korean bbq place uses charcoal so I'm glad it's still in business after all these years. I personally prefer suwon style kalbi but for regular kalbi this is definitely one of the better places in the Bay Area because of the traditional charcoal they use. I don't think the seafood is as good as the beef so I'd skip the seafood but you can't go wrong with kalbi. It can get busy. There are so many different sections that there should always be seating available as the restaurant is surprisingly huge inside. However as it gets busy service can be spotty because not enough waiters are available to cook for you.

love this party place bc its just always so good it makes us wanna cry. must get naengmyunZ w ur charcoal kalbi. without fail there hasn't been a single time where the lady didn't drop a piece of meat into the fire and it's just part of the experience

It was my first time trying this kbbq restaurant and the food was pretty good. Service was great. Staff were attentive and friendly especially the owner. She was constantly checking up on us and joking with us. The restaurant was located in a shopping plaza with plenty of parking spaces. It was inside but the service was fast. We ordered charcoal bbq with beef short ribs, prime brisket and pork belly slices. We also ordered steamed eggs and seafood pancakes. Everything came out with banchan and rice. Overall, the food was good and the service was amazing. Price was on the higher end but the quality of meat was good. I would like to come back to try their own dishes and eat more kbbq.

Fil suggested this place for dinner. It's been well over a decade since I last dined here. Made reservations but it was pretty empty when we arrived. This place is old school and uses charcoal. We ordered a bunch of meats. I liked the fresh rib eye, brisket and wagyu ( really tender!). The intestines were too soft and chewy. Banchans were small and unimpressive. Service was good. Surprisingly we didn't not smell like cooked meat when we left!

I just got a spicy pork lunch to go . Absolutely delicious! My spicy pork came with rice and some pickled bean sprouts, kimchee ,pickled and zucchini. Everything was perfect. I'm super happy with my lunch which was huge btw. Definitely big enough for two people. It was $22. If I lived closer I'd be there a lot.

I was blown away at my experience here at Han Sung. This is a kbbq spot that specializes in charcoal grilling. All the meats are ordered a la carte. The servers are good at cooking the meats and cutting them up for you. I felt like I was always being fed! Let's start with appetizers. The seafood pancake is a MUST if you love fried stuff and seafood. I couldn't get enough of it. You can pass on the dumplings and tempura. We also tried the japchae and it was so good! A lot of veggies in it though, but the flavor of the meat and oil in the noodles were delicious. My favorite meat was the marinated kalbi. So tender. I also liked the beef tongue, which came out already cooked on a stone grill. The brisket wasn't bad either. I wished there was brisket sauce. The seafood tofu soup was actually very tasty. It wasn't too spicy so you could enjoy the taste. The tofu tasted a lot like soy and it was super soft, which was a pleasantly interesting experience to me since tofu soup usually has harder tofu. We also ordered the bossam and to be honest I wouldn't reorder that again since the rest of the meal was already flavorful. The bossam pork belly itself was bland. Almost dish we ordered was basically 10/10. I can only comment on the taste of the food because this was a company dinner, but I think price wise if you want to enjoy your meal and eat like a king, expect to pay $80+ before tax and tip.

Delicious dishes, good service, authentic Korean food - highly recommended. In particular, the bibimbap, tofu soup and kalbi cooked at your table are excellent! Easy parking, nice decor inside, with a large indoor seating area along with private rooms for parties.

I've never had an experience like this at a restaurant before!! The food here is expensive and the service is terrible. Our waitress and the host (or the owner) were rushing us while we were ordering, they barely came by our table to check on us and when I went up to ask for utensils, the lady was very rude. The worst part was when I was paying, since the service was really bad, I only left 10% tip and apparently that wasn't enough. The waitress came back to my table and said the tip is "no good" and I need to put "at least" 15%......... also, they calculate the tip after tax!! If the service was good, I wouldn't mind leaving a high tip but the food was already expensive and the service was awful so 15% is just not ok!! Would not recommend coming here at all!

I can safely say, as a person who does not regularly consume Korean cuisine, that I deeply enjoyed my experience at this Korean BBQ Restaurant! The food! Gosh! I adored how flavorful and crispy the vegetables and meat was, along with the sauce being deeply soaked into each food item that I eat here. The service at this restaurant was very professional and efficient. I appreciated how the waiting time for my food was around 20 minutes tops as well. And lastly, can I just say how I was delighted to see that this restaurant had Korean symbols plastered through the restaurant, along with Christmas music playing in the background was a great mix for a perfect ambiance present in this restaurant (:

Hard to find good, quality KBBQ in my area, so I came down to Santa Clara. Not AYCE; pay per order (a la carte). Came here twice within one week with two different parties, both times, left more than satisfied. Charcoal grill, they cook for you. First time, they came by more frequently and our meat didn't burn. The second time I came, they came by less frequently and we ended up grilling our own meat. - brisket: slightly thicker than most other KBBQ places, but loved that! It's still thin, but it's not Korean face mask thin and 90% fat (like Gen's is). Classic, can't go wrong ordering this. - LA galbi: a little on the fattier side, but seasoned sooooo well. A favorite by each party both times I went. - pork belly: they cook it in the back and it comes with grilled/fried kimchi. It was really good the first time, but the second time, it was extremely dry and not a favorite. - cold buckwheat noodle soup: 5/5, amazing, get it if you like this dish. It's on the saltier side, but I'm extremely happy because it didn't taste watered down. - steamed egg: steamed to perfection. -- It's a bit pricey, but I think the meat is pretty good quality. Each meat comes with a rice and salad too. First time I went, I wasn't given soup; second time I went, I was given soup. (Soybean paste soup.) -- Will likely make this my go-to spot for KBBQ

Came here with my mom and fiancée today. Service was excellent and they were very attentive helping us cook the meats and always refilling our banchans. The meat itself (Kalbi and brisket) were really good. For us, it was one of the better Korean experiences we had In the Bay Area

Expensive and not worth it. The charcoal concept is nice however for it to taste smokey I believe the meat has to stay on for a while and for how thin the galbi and the pork is, it just does not make a difference. The meat quality is not the best either save yourself some money or go somewhere where the quality matches the price tag.

Korean BBQ experiences just aren't the same without the charcoal! Nothing gets the meat as charred and flavorful. My boyfriend and I visited Hansung on a Sunday evening for dinner, and there was surprisingly no wait! We had a really seamless experience here, and service was top notch. The Korean ladies were on top of it and very helpful with cooking the meat. Their menu is so impressive, and there are so many different options, KBBQ or not. We got the Boneless Beef Short Ribs and the Spicy Pork for the grill. We wanted the Pork Belly, but apparently that dish comes out already prepared. Both of the meats we got were tender and high-quality. I'm typically not the biggest fan of Spicy Pork, but I thought they did a really great job with their marinade. Along with the meat, we also ordered Kimchi Tofu Soup and Cold Noodles (Naengmyun). The Tofu Soup always hits the spot when eating KBBQ, and the Cold Noodles were a great little snack after we finished the meats. Their banchans are a little lacking for me -- I wished the offered japchae, but I think the caliber of the meat makes up for that.

Love the charcoal grill. Good quality grilled meat. Galbi tang is also one the best. Service is good but feels rushed the whole meal from time we sit down to order, eat and pay.

Food was okay. Sides are whatever. Main complain is lack of flavor (very bland) no typical complementary soup or egg stew. Very expensive. This place would do a lot better if management is under control. My experience was terrible here. There was no one at the restaurant during prime lunch hour. We ordered 3 orders of galbi bbq. An old couple that came after my party and started to complain loudly about the two Kids we had which was odd because no one was around. We were rushed eating. The server or manager should have stepped up and had them move to another area instead of having the old couple causing fight. We even told them we were leaving but the old couple kept fighting us. It was an unpleasant experience for us. We are never getting coming back here.

Love this place! They have charcoal which is not easy to find in Bay Area. The meat is perfectly seasoned with a Smokey flavor from the charcoal. The ajummas (Korean for aunties) grilled for you. I l love supporting this kind of place since there's not too many places still use charcoal which is traditional bbq.

Meat not fresh, not worth the price. Service was good but I won't go again. The environment is good as well.

Came here after going to spring bbq (because they ran out of charcoal). I just googled another bbq place nearby and what a gem! Surprisingly, it was quite pleasant and satisfying. There was no wait and the service was excellent. Our waiter cooked the meat for us, but she cooked it a bit fast for me (I'm a bit of a slow eater and I enjoy my meals slowly), so our cooked meat was left on the foil near the edge of the grill to keep warm I'm guessing. We got the prime brisket and beef short ribs. And it was yummy! Meat was juicy and fresh (just like it said on the menu). They served a bunch of sides, which was also yummy. The kimchi is on spot and I'm usually really particular about kimchi. Love how they served raw garlic and lettuce with the bbq, exactly how I love eating my kbbq. I would definitely come back for the great service and quality of meat.

A friend told me their sundubu/tofu soups were amazing, so I had to come by and give it a try. I ordered the mushroom sundubu and it came with 4 banchan/side dishes. It was pretty good, but nothing spectacular. I was a little worried about the service, given all the negative reviews, but it was fine! They were nice and courteous, and seemed to treat other customers well too.

초대를 받아 이른 점심시간에 들렀는데 그때 식당엔 우리 일행4명만 있었다. 주문을 받는 여자종업원(4-50대 추정, 마스크를 해서 정확히 잘 모르겠음) 의 행동은 매우 화가 나게 하는 행동이었다. 주문이 좀 지체 되었더니 "주문을 할거예요 말거에요?" 라고 매우 퉁명한 말투로 몰아 부쳤다. 기분이 상해서 뭐라고 한마디 하려고 했지만 초대 받은 입장이라 참고 식사를 마쳤다. 숙소로 돌어오자마자 복통이 나서 약을 먹기까지 했다. 이런 종업원, 교육 안시키는 식당은 K음식에 대한 모욕이 아닐까! 좀 잘 좀 하면 안될까요?

Came here recently for my brothers birthday. Was very sad to see how things have changed. Meat quality was not what it used to be. Service is quick but can be pushy.

I'm a bit taken back this last indoor dining experience with my parents.... The staff didn't seem welcoming and almost felt like they gave that,"why are you eating in this restaurant" vibe. The odd thing was, I understand that the condiments are small portions and meant to be eaten as such. But my parents are now seniors and kept asking for more kimchi. They asked for more cucumber kimchi and the waitress said they ran out.... Don't say you ran out of the cucumber kimchi and right after serve it to other customers...

This was our first visit to this restaurant. When we arrived, we could smell the smoke from the charcoal BBQ grills. I was surprised that all the meats on the BBQ menu were quite pricey for lunch. We ordered the boneless short rib, and it came with soup, lettuce, and some small side dishes that I'm sad to say I wasn't quite familiar with (and the server didn't seem to speak much English so our questions about the food went unanswered). They brought lettuce in a bowl that had no discernible dressing on it. The soup was somewhat salty and a bit bland. There was a side dish that looked like bean sprouts or noodles of some sort (I didn't try it), steamed rice, a dish that was similar in flavor to sauerkraut and was absolutely delicious ( I think it was a pickled radish), a few pieces of cooked potatoes, a small bowl of bland gelatinous squares that after a google search I determined may be mung bean jelly slices, plus a tasty sauce for the meat. When the guy came by to drop the charcoal in our BBQ pit the embers flew all over the place, with some landing on me, the table, and the floor. I quickly brushed them off me so as to avoid any kind of embarrassing spontaneous combustion. The server came by with the meat and silently grilled it up for us, adding pieces to the aluminum foil surrounding the pit once they were done. The meat was tender, smoky, and quite good. Unfortunately, as the server was grilling the meat, she was hastily dropping it onto the foil, and pieces of meat were rolling onto the table. So essentially, we were eating food directly off the table, which from a cleanliness perspective wasn't something that I was very comfortable with. The service was good (although quiet and a bit robotic). The location was in a strip mall so parking is no problem. I will say that they do give you a lot of meat, so if you're a carnivore and don't mind the high price this might be appealing. If you decide to go, don't forget to wear your fashionable flame-retardant suit.

I had been looking for a great Korean bbq place with high quality meat for awhile until I tried Han Sung and was very happy after dining here! The staff is very attentive and helpful. They brought extra side dishes and cooked the meat perfectly - I was never left wondering what was going on because they were on top of everything! Wonderful food and reminded me of my time in Korea. I can't wait to come back and bring more friends with me!

The Korean BBQ does not get better than here. For the price, and the cooking service (you NEED to ask them to slow down otherwise you can feel like they are rushing you), this place is very good - hard to get better in the Bay Area. Best is to try fresh Galbi or Hansung (marinated) Galbi. Minimum is 2 orders for BBQ, and each order will come with rice, veggies / side dish + soup.

Best Korean bbq kalbi in the area. The service is friendly and super nice. It's a bit smoky inside because the meat is grilled over real charcoal. In particular, I love the dipping sauce that they give for the meats. The side banchons are great.

We decided to come here for my birthday on a Tuesday. They are open from 11am to 2:30pm. We have been here before back in 2016 so that's about 7 years ago. I was suddenly craving for their bbq and also their rice juice (식혀) so I picked this place. We arrived around 1:10pm so that's an hour and half away from their closing time. Upon arrival, they asked whether we wanted a regular seat or bbq seat. We chose the bbq seat. We got seated and 30 seconds later, a lady came over with a water bottle and another set of menu. In less than 15 seconds, another lady came to take our order. We said we were not ready yet so she literally gave us another 30 seconds and came back to take our order. We were so shocked and frustrated because we hadn't decided on what to order. In a hurry, we picked two things out of the bbq menu and said we will order more later. We ordered Wagyu ribeye steak and sliced bulgogi (as she recommended). We weren't super impressed with the quality of meat. They weren't bad but we expected a lot more for the price. They pretty much threw the meat on the grill and forgot about us. We ended up cooking up everything on our own. When I came 7 years ago, the servers didn't want the customers to even touch the tongs. We also ordered the seafood pancake and tofu soup - both were okay, not impressive! It was around 2pm when we were wrapping up. This was 30 mins before their closing time. I can feel the sense of urgency on all three ladies sitting at the back table who were getting ready to go home. They quickly came and cleaned up our table. They were impatient when we asked for boxes to take the leftovers with us. After we paid, they returned our card and receipt to sign on a tray but the tray was left upside down on our table. We were so shocked because we have never seen something like this! Overall, the service experience was extremely bad!! The quality of food wasn't superb either. I am not sure how they are surviving but I am utterly disappointed and shocked to have this type of experience at a restaurant with 3 $$$. We definitely won't be coming back here.

THIS IS THE SPOT FOR KOREAN BBQ. HANDS DOWN. DO NOT PLAY YOURSELF OR YOUR GUESTS. I go to this place all the time and I love everything. I usually order 1 seafood pancake, 1 stone pot bimbap, Two LA korean short rib plus one or two other meats depending on my cravings on that day, extra kimchi, garlic, jalapeños, and water with ice. Then I and my guest are set to go. Go here at least once monthly.

Easily my favorite Korean BBQ place (I also only live 3 minutes away, which is a very nice QoL bonus). I recommend any of their beef dishes; the unmarinated galbi and wagyu are particularly good! The pork belly (samgyeopsal) is hit or miss; when done properly, it's very good; but more often than not it comes out overcooked, which isn't great. (this is the only reason why I didn't give Han Sung 5 stars ...) Haven't tried any of the chickens, so can't comment on those. They also have baby octopus, squid, and prawns, all of which are delicious; by default the staff don't cook the octopus or squid for very long (some people prefer them to have a bit of rawness inside), so if you're into that, go for it. I prefer them very well-done, so I almost always put them back onto the grill. Service is also great; the staff is very friendly and helpful! Price is very reasonable, you'll enjoy it!

Food is good here. Especially since the staff cooks it for you. I often overcook it or undercook the meat since I'm always socializing with others. The service is great as well, we always had side dishes brought out when they ran out and the staff brought out the food really fast. The only downside is the prices. Prices are too high for just good food that was the same as any of the other kbbq places.

Very pricey for a reason. You can see the marbling on the pork ribs on the grill. Bulgogi was amazing too. If you are looking for big servings with lots of banchan then, this is Not the place for you.

Wood charcoal kbbq which is not common in the South Bay. Food is delicious, but it's pretty pricey. Budget $70-$80 without drinks and $100 with drinks. Service is fine, they would grill the meats for you.

I came here with my boyfriend and a friend who loves eating here with his family. They cut and set the first round of meat on the grill for us, making my friend think they would cook for us as they did before COVID. However, we soon found out we had to flip the meat over ourselves. Just something to be aware of if you used to eat here! Always watch the meat (during COVID), or it could turn black like it did for us haha. We ordered the Marinated Short Ribs and Thinly Sliced Beef Brisket (forgot the full name), but it wasn't worth the $30 price for each small plate of meat. My friend did say the quality went down a bit, so maybe these prices were warranted before. They also only gave two sauce plates and two banchans because we ordered two plates of meat. We did try asking for a third sauce plate, but they ended up giving us a third Banchan. I would have appreciated more sauces to pair the meat with. We also ordered the seafood pancake, which was amazingly crunchy and delicious! I haven't had many seafood pancakes, so I can't comment on the authenticity, but it was WONDERFULLY tasty!! The sauce it was paired with was also a heavenly combination. I personally would have rather gotten full off of their seafood pancake. This makes me curious about their other dishes, like their Jjajangmyeon, and cold buckwheat noodles. The charcoal bbq is a unique dining experience if you have a lot of extra money though! This is in San Jose, so maybe the prices make sense?? Would probably try again after COVID and meat suppliers become more consistent.

I just recently come here to have dinner with my friends! We had a bad service ! They rushed us to eat as fast as possible just to finish and paid! We 6 ppls can not enjoy the meal at all! So disappointed! Never come back again!

They have big rooms great for bigger parties. Charcoal grill which definitely adds to the flavor. The marinate is not overly sweet and meat is perfectly seasons. The menu is fairly small but all the items are delicious. The quality of the meat is not bad (2 meat plate minimum for charcoal grill). All the Auntie's that cook the meat for you know what they are doing so you can just focus on eating and chatting. This may be weird for those who want to cook their own food but trust the process. Glad this place stuck around after the pandemic. Try it out and support all the Aunties working here.
