Seattle’s Restaurant and Bar Closures | Eater Seattle

"In Haller Lake I covered the November 21 closure announcement of Pop Pop Thai Street Food, which had served noodle soups and other Thai dishes for nine years and planned a free farewell dinner the following day on November 22 starting at 4:30 p.m. until food ran out." - Harry Cheadle

14 Restaurants Serving Terrific Thai Food in the Seattle Area

"Those on the north side of Seattle know that this restaurant, hidden from the street, serves up excellent Thai food. Recommended: the brilliantly pink noodle soup known as yen ta fo (here called Red Sea Noodle Soup) along with the braised pork leg with mustard greens." - Eater Staff

"Extraordinary things are happening at this unassuming hot spot squeezed between a T-Mobile store and a Jimmy John's in a North Seattle strip mall. Pop Pop serves delicious comfort food—including a few rare specialties—all delivered in under 10 minutes and for a reasonable price. Highlights include the larb, a dish of minced pork or chicken with fish sauce, lime juice, fresh herbs, and roasted ground rice, as well as the grilled chicken. The restaurant's name is a take on the Northern Thai dish kai yang : skin-on thigh meat marinated in coconut milk, then rubbed with spices, garlic, and lemongrass. But the Red Sea noodle soup tends to steal the show with its fish balls and fried tofu floating in a broth tinted fuchsia from salted soybean paste."

Good food, will go back. The Khao Soi is very good. Fried rice is Ok but like the curry taste. Braised pork is very taste. The place is old, small but clean. The one person service is good.

Awesome Thai Spot!! Great place for a quick bite to go or even bring your family for a delicious feast! We tried almost everything on their menu! 😅 EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS👌🏾 My favorite was #29 Khao Soi - NORTHERN STYLE RED CURRY WITH EGG NOODLES, CHICKEN DRUMSTICKS,TOPPED WITH CRISPY EGG NOODLE NEST, SERVED WITH PICLED MUSTARD GREENS, SHALLOTS, LIME AND SPICY CHILLI GINGER OIL Their #6 Papaya Salad was on point too!! We added prawns ORIGINAL THAI STYLE SHREDDED GREEN PAPAYA, DRIED SHRIMPS, PEANUTS, GREEN BEANS AND TOMATOES IN SAVORY CITRUS DRESSING

When we first got there, seemed like a small place, but bigger than we thought. The place was simple but nice. There was a very good selection. We were surprised that they had khao mun gai (grilled chicken with rice cooked in chicken broth and ginger/garlic sauce and chicken broth on the side). Very few Thai places offer this as a standard dish, Bai Tong had it available on special order. The chicken was very well done, rice had good 'chicken broth' flavor, and the sauce was really good. Overall, the first was really good dish, not as good as Nong's on Portland, but the best (only?) around the Seattle area. The phad sei iew (soy sauce, pan fried noodles) with chicken was really good. Typical condiments upon request. Will come back.

Food was delicious!! Tried their chicken rice dish and pad see ew. Very good 👍 even compared to LA food standards. Prices are quite reasonable. Spent about $25 for 2 ppl. Friendly service. No complaints ! Would definitely come back and highly recommend to try. Parking lot has lots of parking too.

Their food was very delicious for me to eat. I ordered pineapple fried rice and pork gyoza and it was good.

We really enjoyed our time here. I got the khaosoi and some gyoza. The food was really good and the staff were really friendly. We can’t wait to come back here again and continue to try other things.

Google
Pretty disappointed considering how highly rated this place is :( Ordered the chicken pad Thai 3 stars and it tasted like a 1, if that. Both the pad thai and pad see ew were lacking in flavor compared to other Thai restaurants I’ve been to. At least there was a good amount of chicken in it. Crispy chicken was good but wasn’t crispy at all by the time we got home. The highlight was the Thai ice tea.

I had the Pad Thai with chicken, but I only got one star in the spicey category. My plan was to eat half and save the rest but I just couldn't help myself. It was that good. I can't wait to come back for more.
