Well, Steven, my family and I decided to make a return trip to NOLA's, and I will say that the experience was a lot better! First off, the weather was dreadful on this day with the torrential downpour that was ongoing; however, the staff kept us informed on the wait times and made sure everyone in our party was accommodated. Once inside, the ambiance was the same as before: festive, lively, and upbeat due to the music that was coming through the speakers. (More on that in a few!) Our server, Brad, was the living personification of uptempo! He attended to all of our requests and asked the appropriate questions about our drink and food orders! No glass on our table ever got below half full, and that is a plus!! On this trip, I had the Boudin Omelette with potatoes, and that, my friend, was damn good! Great combination of ingredients and spices! My wife had the NOLA Brunch Plate, and she was VERY pleased with the stone-ground grits! Well seasoned and CREAMY! The praline bacon was definitely a hit, and I will order more next time to take home! My son had the chocolate chip cookie dough pancakes and was truly pleased with the plate, and the taste was right up his alley! The one thing that was a negative mark on our first visit was that the food was served cold. On this visit, everything was served with warmth and promptness! NOW...as far as the musical ambiance is concerned...the DJ that was spinning the tunes kept the heads bobbing and shoulders rocking! I thought it was the company MUZAK that was giving us our musical fill, but no, it was this young man in the back with his computer and equipment just KILLING IT...but he looked very, very young to have this type of musical taste. He played everything from the 70's to the early 2000's R&B! So, I got up to thank him for keeping the mood lively and asked him if he had a tip cup. He did, however, it was in his coat pocket. He pulled it out, and I gave him a tip. Then I asked him what his name was and how old he was...I was not expecting to hear 14!!! I then increased his tip! His name is Willam, and he definitely set the mood of the place! WELL DONE, YOUNG MAN, WELL DONE!
Great job, NOLA's! Your reputation precedes you! (Now, let's talk about the parking situation! lol) Be well and stay Blessed!!
