The best and most surprising beef tartar i’ve ever had in my life. The presentation was very basic but the taste will blow your mind

Food was good but service was disappointing. Waited a long time for a spoon, were pressured to over-order, and weren’t offered dessert until we noticed another (Korean) table received it. The experience felt unfair and unprofessional.

Wooga, a mention in the Michelin Guide. While that certainly raises expectations, the experience doesn’t quite live up to the hype. That’s not to say it’s bad — far from it — but it’s more of a solid neighborhood barbecue joint than a culinary destination. The beef is good quality, especially the hanwoo cuts, and the staff is attentive with the grilling. You’ll get a satisfying meal, and the banchan (side dishes) are fresh, though not particularly memorable. It’s clean, efficient, and the vibe is friendly, but it lacks the kind of standout flavor or unique character you’d hope for from a Michelin nod. If you’re in the area and craving Korean BBQ, Wooga won’t disappoint. Just don’t go out of your way expecting a transformative dining experience. It’s reliable, not revelatory. Rating: 3.5/5 – Worth a visit if nearby, but not a must-see.

I recently had dinner at Gyuya, and while there were some positives, overall the experience left me mixed. The menu is very limited, essentially only offering set courses, so there isn’t much flexibility in ordering. The quality of the beef itself was undeniable—tender, flavorful, and clearly well prepared. The steak in particular stood out as the highlight of the meal. They also provide a selection of dipping sauces, which added variety and complemented the meat nicely. That said, the pricing felt excessive for what was offered. Even though the meat was good, the overall value did not feel justified when compared with similar restaurants in the area. Another drawback was the lack of child-friendly options. Although the menu listed a kids’ meal, we were initially told it wasn’t available. After several back-and-forth explanations, it was finally served, but the process was frustrating and diminished the overall dining experience. In short, Gyuya is a place for those who want quality beef and don’t mind paying a premium, but families or guests looking for variety and smoother service may leave disappointed. For me, while the food itself was enjoyable, I found it hard to say the experience lived up to the price.

Not hygenic - the water they served had some black particles inside and a dessert spoon was covered with an unknown aged food residue. With this price point for Hanwoo (130$ for 300g ribeye), you can find the better place with better quality service and ambience... very disappointing....all were foreigners/tourists inside.

Very overrated. Beef quality is mediocre. It’s okay, not han-woo beef. Also the meat was definitely overcooked to be well-done. Not very tender. Their bathrooms are nice though and it’s spacious inside. Food is meh good, not great. Cream risotto is overloaded with black pepper, if you like that. Again, the service and cooking performance is great, but food was meh.

it's nice but not sure if this is the best. They won many Michelin awards so maybe you can use that as a gauge? We ordered the ribeye which the minimum order is 400g. It is enough to fit 2 people. Maybe it is standard practice in seoul but we like that they cook and prepare the beef for you. It is recommended to make a reservation to get a table in the main area otherwise you have to pay 30000 won for a private room.
