This is our favorite restaurant to go to. We not only love dining in but we order takeout from here a lot. The portions are so good and I am able to make two meals out of it. All the entrees come with a yummy soup and either rice or naan. Very generous portions. I always get the butter chicken and BF gets the chicken Korma. We always get the Vegetable Pakora which comes with a fresh mint sauce. Food is consistent and fresh and hits the spot always. Service always great and the inside has a nice ambience and is comfortable

My husband and I had dinner here on a Wednesday night and it was busy but we were greeted and seating pretty quickly. The employees were all very nice. They have a good size menu with different selections. We tried the Chili momo dumplings, they had a good flavor, pepper forward, and good herb seasoning. Then we tried the Mango Chicken and Chicken Korma both were 9/10 , creamy, spicy, and flavorful! The best part was the Cheese Garlic Naan 10/10 recommend! Will be back to try more items

I have been coming here since the day they opened and it only gets better! Love this place and you really can’t beat their lunch specials.

Google
Great food and atmosphere, but service could be better. Waiter slammed items on the table when serving, including placing them on our plates or on other things on the table which was weird. Also, we were asked to leave the restaurant at closing while we just finished eating. Good food though, would recommend ordering online at least.

my wife and i came in tonight and we were blown away!!!! the waitstaff were so kind and thw food was unlike anything ive ever had. dare i say maybe some of the best ive ever had? yes. absolutely, it was incredible. everything was stellar, someone even came to check on us and make sure we were loving everything(which we absolutely were) he was just really sweet and the gesture touched me. wonderful dining experience, will be returning for more… likely soon :)!!

Google
We had an incredible experience at this place. The food was absolutely amazing—high quality, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every bite was a delight! The service was equally outstanding; the staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely committed to making sure I had a fantastic visit. I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for great food and top-notch service. I can’t wait to return!

I stopped in on a Saturday and the staff and food were wonderful. It is really good food and I walked away with left overs even after over eating. If you enjoy good Indian and want to support a local business then I would strongly recommend.

Google
Food was amazing! We had the chicken tikka, butter chicken, yellow and white rice, and the garlic naan. They also gave us Dahl soup as an appetizer. Everything was a 10/10! Service was also great, everyone was very nice and on top of everything. The decor and lighting gave a nice ambience to this restaurant. I’ll definitely be back! :) Side note, my friend and I were talking and hanging out and didn’t even realize the time or that they were closing, and they were so kind not even rushing us out of there, but we ended up just realizing they were closing so got up anyways and cashed out. 5 ⭐️

Yelp
I've been taking friends here for the last 12-13 years. Last night I took my best friend here and he said, "This place is legitimately a 10/10." The food is so full of flavor, the menu has so many options, and the decor does remind me a little bit of my time in India. Great food!

Yelp
We've been dining here for years, and we can say without hesitation that the food and service is consistently great. Upon arriving on a Saturday night, we were greeted warmly and seated immediately. This restaurant has a huge interior and can handle large groups of diners with ease. Tonight the restaurant was fairly busy but not overly crowded. The noise level in this large restaurant is low, you can definitely carry a conversation nicely. The menu is extensive and if you are not familiar with Himalayan, Nepalese or Indian cuisine there are plenty of pictures in the back of the menu to help guide your decisions. When ordering your entrées, for most dishes, you will be asked for your "heat level" on a scale of 1 to 10. We order a heat level of 5 which is more on the spicy side, so if you like your dishes mild, I recommend to choose a spice level below 3. Portion size is ample compared to most restaurants, and the pricing is quite fair as you will see by what we purchased and our final bill. This evening we were a dining party of 3. All diners will be served a cup of their yummy delicious lentil soup with their meals. Tonight we ordered Curry Chicken, Tikka Masala Chicken, Tandori Lamb Chops, and 2 orders of Garlic Cilantro Naan (our favorite). Our entrées came with either yellow or white rice or plain Naan. The meal is served "family-style" so everyone can choose what they would like to try. Since we were placing 2 orders of the Cilantro Garlic Naan (our favorite) we all chose a rice as a side. The chicken in both the Curry and Tikka Masala was very tender and the flavor of both dishes was exceptional! The Tandori Lamb (my husband's favorite) was tender and moist with the perfect amount of seasonings served on a bed of roasted Tandori oven vegetables. The Naan is fluffy, light with a hint of char from the Tandori oven. We all scored each dish a 5 tonight. I have only spoke of the food, but the service by the waitstaff at Himalayan is at another level! They are all very attentive to each customer needs without being invasive... we were never really waiting for our meals to be served, beverages to be refilled or plates to be removed. They are all kind and joyful. If you want a lovely dining experience with great food we highly recommend Himalayan Cuisine Restaurant... this should be the standard of what going out for dinner looks like. Total meal cost was under $80. And we still took boxes of leftovers home.

My husband and I had dinner here on a Wednesday night and it was busy but we were greeted and seating pretty quickly. The employees were all very nice. Love that they have their awards presented by the door. The place isn't load, you can have a nice conversation with your table. They have a good size menu with different selections. Lots of vegetarian options which is nice! We tried the Chili momo dumplings, they had good flavor, pepper forward, and good herb seasoning. We got these as a spice level 5 and it had a good kick. Then we tried the Mango Chicken and Chicken Korma (spice level 10) both were 9/10 , creamy, spicy, and flavorful! Im a big fan of spicy food and this #10 was spicy but definitely not the spiciest I've had. The best part was the Cheese Garlic Naan 10/10 recommend! Will be back to try more items.

Yelp
Went here on a Sunday afternoon and got seated right away. It was my first time, but my partner has been raving about this place for a while. We ordered the chicken tikka masala and chicken chili, along with basmati rice, naan, and cheese naan. Between the two dishes, the chicken chili was definitely my favorite. We asked for a 6/10 spice level, but honestly, I could've handled it even spicier. Next time, I'll bump it up a few notches. Same for the masala; we got it at a 6/10 too, but it didn't really bring much heat, in my opinion. Overall, this place will definitely be the first spot I think of whenever I'm craving Indian food. Can't wait to come back and turn up the spice!

Yelp
This is my favorite Indian food spot and I have been coming here for a while! Takeout or dine in the service is always wonderful and the quality of food is always up to par, this time around we got the chicken tikka masala which is so flavorful and creamy and tried the chili chicken which easily became a new favorite You also get some lentil soup which is always a nice way to start the meal, can't rave about this place enough!!

Yelp
Went in for a take out lunch special, for about $15 you get a ton of delicious food. With the lunch special comes: lentil soup (a smidge bland but might be because of my other dishes), 2 entrees (I picked Chana masala - delicious!! And chicken vindaloo - tasty, in a different style than I'm used to, this one had potatos), lots of rice, pickled veg, two triangles of naan (one was perfect, one was doughy), and rice pudding. I'll be back to try some of their other dishes, but will also certainly order the Chana masala again in the future. I ordered when I arrived and it took only about 10 minutes for the food to be ready. They gave it to me all wrapped to contain the sauces, and with silverware.

Yelp
Best tikka masala in town! The staff is super cool, and the new restaurant space is huge -- plenty of seating anytime. It's the only Indian food I'll eat in town!

Yelp
I have been coming here for years and was a frequented spot with friends. Coming here with friends or any group is recommended since the food portions are large and family style dining encouraged. Some of the highlights include the ample parking lot and the large restaurant with its decor that feels like you're in Nepal. The staff is amazing...every time I've come here they have been so friendly and attentive and treat us as friends. And of course, the food - delicious and there is something for everyone. I myself always get the masala chai and veggie samosas and usually some kind of chicken dish. But For this visit, it felt like we ordered the entire menu with about 12 different dishes. Such great variety, spice levels and flavors! A great meet up spot and almost guarantee you'll have left overs to take home.

Yelp
I came here for the first time with a good friend of mine . My first impression was this is a really cute and cozy decor . There weren't many people here dining and I saw probably 3-4 servers . We both ordered the chicken tikka masala with rice and garlic cilantro naan . I like that you get to pick your spice level. They recommend spice level four because I didn't want too spicy and it was absolutely perfect. My friend went with seven he really thought that was perfect spice for a spicy lover . It came with a delicious lentil soup . The food was 4 stars . The reason for the three star review is because the service was pretty bad. We kept having to go up to them to ask for something to drink, , to ask which one was a level 4 or 7 and to pay . They were friendly , but not attentive at all. We will probably make this a take out option.

Yelp
One of the best authentic indian Restaurants i've had in town! They give you complementary lentil soup which was so delicious!! They also give you the option of rice or naan with your curry dishes (most places don't do that) and the servers are very prompt and friendly!! This restaurant definitely gives off a homestyle indian cuisine vibe and I love it!! I have been only coming here since i've tried it Not to mention their prices are reasonable for the big portions they give you!!! Highly recommend getting the mango lassi (Not pictured) my husband and I also got the mixed tandoori which came out sizzling and was sooo tasty! The lamb biryani was okay, I wished the meat was a little more tender but it was still flavorful. The butter chicken or chicken makhnee was my absolute fav! If you like spicy I recommend 7-8 spice level. Last, the garlic naan came out fresh and soft, it was perfect!

Yelp
Came by Himalayan Cuisine for lunch! Three of us shared a pakora app, which was quite good. They have an amazing lunch special for $14.95. I had double chicken tikka masala and flavors were great. A lot of food for lunch. Lots of seating inside. Staff was friendly. Lots of parking in the plaza. I'll be back for sure in the future!

Yelp
Been here several times but brought my best friend here for her first time. First thing they brought was the lentil soup snd it was good. The servers were friendly and the atmosphere was nice with all the pictures and decorations. Ordered the butter chicken which is her favorite and I ordered the chicken tikka masala and the mixed tandoori grill with garlic cheese naan bread and rice . Would have ordered spicy but my b can't handle spice . The smell of the mixed tandoori was amazing and both chicken dishes were tasty. I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
How do I even begin? First, I've never had Nepalese cuisine before but after our first visit, I'm hooked. We came into such a cozy, warm, and inviting atmosphere and was seated right away. To start, we ordered their Masala Chai and Mango Lassi. Both drinks were an absolute treat. The spice and warmth of their Masala Chai was just so addicting, I could easily see myself having it every time we come back. Similarly, the Mango Lassi was such a rich, delightfully sweet, and tart mango flavor that was also so addicting (this means a lot for me considering how mango is my favorite fruit and not a lot of places get that flavor down right). For our entrees, we got the Lamb Tandoori and the Tofu Tikka Masala. These were to die for. The lamb was cooked to perfection!!! It was so tender, juicy, and seasoned perfectly. Not too salty, or overpowering, but just enough to enhance the natural flavor of lamb. It came on a sizzling plate that you'd immediately recognize as soon as it came out of the kitchen. My wife got the Tofu Tikka Masala and we were entirely convinced it was the best curry we've EVER had across various Asian cuisines. The curry was such a wonderful deep flavor and a perfectly warm and hearty consistency. Not only that, but they were even able to make the flavor of the tofu stand out among this harmony of spices and deep flavors. But besides the amazing food, service was also at the same level! Folks were kind and attentive, and we thought the older gentleman that checked on us at the end of our meal was so charming that we knew we had to come back again and again and bring more people with us. For local SD Foodies, this place is A MUST. We can't wait to come back and try our way through the whole menu!! Thank you Himalayan Cuisine!

Yelp
My brother loves this place so we decided to take my mom here for her birthday dinner. I've seen this place for years since I grew up in the area but never tried Nepal food before. It's very similar to Indian food, which I'm not a fan of but I loved everything that I tried here. Garlic naan was cheesy and delicious, chicken dumplings were meaty (love the sauce it came with), shrimp biryani was delish with that yogurt sauce, chicken curry was flavorful, and butter roti dish as well. I can see why it's been here for years.
google avatar

Yelp
Great quality, great quantity, great value. I am a regular at this restaurant, and my frequent business here is for very good reason. This Indian restaurant provides large filling portions with flavorful and tasty food all in a cozy and warm atmosphere. Normally I come here for dinner, but this recent visit I came around lunch time and was excited to see that they have an awesome "Lunch Special" which we decided to check out along with some other items we regularly order when we visit. Lunch Special: 2 Items (Chicken Vindaloo, Chicken Tikka Masala), Chickpea Salad, Kheer (rice pudding), Naan, and a large portion of rice. Chicken Vindaloo: Savory, meaty, thick. The chicken in this dish is smokey and a bit tender but on the dryer side. The sauce is also more chunky and viscous as compared to a masala which would have a creamier and runnier sauce. I chose this one as it was one of the three protein options for the special. Although it isn't my absolute favorite, I enjoyed it very much for the variety that it brought to my plate. Chicken Tikka Masala: Bright, savory, tomato-y, creamy. This is the classic chicken tikka masala dish that everyone knows Indian cuisine to make so amazingly. I order this occasionally when I come here and I'm glad that it is a part of the lunch special. If you are unsure what to order, this one will not disappoint at all. Admittedly, in my most recent visit the Tikka Masala was a bit more on the tomayto-y side but nothing beyond slight to where it is disruptive to enjoying the dish. Chickpea Salad: Refreshing, bright, airy. The salad is very simple and straight forward. It is light, refreshing, airy, and aromatic. There is a combination of few textures. The onions and veggies were crunchy and crispy while the chickpea was a bit more grainy. I absolutely loved the salad as it was a beautiful contrast to the warmer and more savory flavors of the rest of our meal. Kheer: Cool, refreshing, not too sweet. This is the first time I've ever had rice pudding and it was such a pleasure to try. Similar to the chickpea salad, I thought it brought a nice refreshing break from the heavier savory tastes that is more common with the heavy dishes they serve at this restaurant. I should've saved it as dessert for the end but it tasted so good I couldn't resist taking sips throughout my meal. Lamb Vindaloo: Roasted, gamey, tender, juicy. The Lamb Vindaloo was saucy and savory. It was mild in spiciness and the aroma was filled with spices and herbs. The lamb meat was also extremely juicy and tender and it reminded me of a medium-rare New York Strip steak in the best way possible. The lamb meat tasted gamey in a way that was enjoyable but that also requires the context of my personal preference in game-y meats. I order this dish every so often when I come to this location and have never been disappointed. Overall a great dish to order if you enjoy game-y meats. Otherwise try the chicken vindaloo! Lamb Biryani: Warm, filling, aromatic, colorful. My girlfriend and I order this dish EVERY single time we come here. The biryani is so tasty and aromatic and it has the scents of every spice you would ever want. The lamb in this dish is also very tender and tasty. If you order any of the regular entrees that come with a choice of rice or naan, I would highly recommend you choose naan if you're also ordering any of their biryanis. The portion of rice they provide with this dish is deceptively large and I fall for it time after time. Mango Lassi: Not too sweet, silky. I can't believe that this is my first time ordering Mango Lassi at this location because it is one of my favorite beverages of all time. The drink is silky smooth and is sweet enough to satisfy your sweet tooth but not so sweet where you feel gross and regretful of ordering it. If you've never had this drink I URGE you to order it and try it out! Service is great as always. We are always greeted at the door by staff and shown to our table within a minute whether it is during lunch or dinner. The staff is attentive to needs and checks in autonomously to refill water and provide any other help needed.

Yelp
This is my favorite Himalayan/Nepalese restaurant. All of the food I've tried here has been wonderful. It's all very flavorful with huge portions. Also, the decor here really sets the mood for this style of restaurant. The service is always prompt. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Very disappointing. Here's why: Lunch special served on these metal cafeteria trays. Really? But wait, there's more. We had the Chicken Vindaloo. Very little flavor, not spicy at all. Lots of untrimmed fat and the like in the dish. Pickles ... sad. Rice pudding was lumpy and tasteless. Naan was ok. When they asked about the food we said it was not very good and they didn't listen but did want to give us boxes to take the uneaten food home. Never going back.

Yelp
Awesome food & great service. Best indian food I have had in a while and super affordable. 2 of us ate + drinks for $50 and brought box home. Just left and already craving it.

Yelp

Yelp
11/18/2024 - I was in the area and ordered a Tiki Masala to go and it came with white rice. I ordered at 2:45pm and they told me about 15 minutes. I walked in and it was ready in 10 minutes. It smells so good in there. Giant place to go to with plenty of seats. Total cost was about $20. Loved it. Wished the portion was a little bigger. 2 meals for me and it came with a lentil soup. 5 stars.

Yelp
Food is delicious! I tried the mango chicken for the first time, unsure what to expect. It was so good, I had to order it again the next time I returned! The touch of mango pieces in the chicken sauce is such a nice touch. The garlic naan is always delicious. We tried their bone-in tandoori chicken tonight it was delicious. We always order samosas too for appetizers. Service is always great. Ambiance is nice, chill. A welcoming environment where we can take our little kids too.

Yelp
TL;DR: authentic Nepalese/Himalayan/Indian cuisine and great service Ordered: - Chicken Tikka Masala (5/5): Must get. - Saag Paneer (4/5): Would've liked the paneer to be more flavorful but overall still delicious - Lamb Biryani (3/5): Good but not a lot of lamb meat. Would've preferred just getting more pieces of naan - Butter/Garlic Naan (5/5): must gets. The naan is so pillowy and soft yet packs a huge punch in flavor So much food for 2 - some of the best leftovers I've had in awhile Won't be getting the Biryani next time but we will absolutely be back to try the rest of the menu! Cheers, Himalayan Cuisine!

Yelp
Ordered off delivery as we were craving Indian food one dinner. What we got: Butter chicken - creamy, rich, with the right amount of chicken. Garlic and cheese naan - on the softer side but chewy and delicious! It came in four pieces. Chicken biryani - unfortunately we didn't like it. It was just too salty that I don't know if that's the purpose of the yogurt sauce. The medium was also too hot for us. Serving was plenty, price point reasonable for two people (everything came to under $50) however, not the best Indian food we've tried despite the many good reviews.

Yelp
This meal was delicious! I enjoyed everything I ordered. I definitely recommend trying the chicken chili if you're interested in trying something different. The flavors were amazing and the chicken was very tender. Their chicken tika was very good as well. You can't go wrong with either. My wife and I had great service. Everyone working was nice and helpful. Highly recommended!

Yelp
One of my favorite places for Indian food in SD. The main dishes come with either jasmine rice or butter naan. I ordered the chicken korma and chili chicken. The chicken was not dry and had great flavors. Level 3 did not have much heat at all. Will have to try level 5 or higher next time. Friendly and fast service. There are lots of tables available for dine in.

Charlotte R.

Yelp
I've tried this place before when my friend ordered takeout, but I've never eaten at the restaurant. I was surprised how big and busy it was inside. A good number of tables were occupied and there was consistent traffic going in and out for pickup orders. The food was hearty and flavorful. We ordered spice level 4 for our dishes and that was perfect for my comfort level. I enjoy spicy food but don't want to my mouth to be on fire the rest of the night. The biryani paired with the raika yogurt and cucumber sauce made for a perfect bite. Service is efficient but you have to be on point if you're wanting refills or have questions because you have to flag down a staff member as they're hustling to and from the back. They were very kind, however, and it was maybe the owner who stopped by the table at the end of the meal to ask how we enjoyed everything. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience, and I'd definitely return to enjoy the great food and welcoming atmosphere.

Yelp
A great place for some great food. The lunch special is back after an absents and covid. But I am happy to report its back and better than ever. still the same great food with even more on your plate. Each lunch special comes with a cup of soup prior to the meal. And then you pick your 2 main dishes options for both vegetarian and meat eaters, jasmine rice, naan bread, a portion of pickled veggie, and a rice pudding type dessert. It is a full meal served 11am- 2pm for only 11.95 I always have leftovers to bring home, and they are even better reheated if that's possible. A great way to try them out. Lunch special is very flavorful but not to spicy for the average person. The great thing about everything else on the main meal menu is you pick your pricy level they ask everyone as their order what number spicy so it's great for getting together with friends who like different levels so spicy, and everyone is still happy ;)

Yelp
I've been here about a dozen times since before the pandemic and everything is delicious! The restaurant is huge and busiest for the dinner service but never busy enough to wait more than a few minutes for a seat. Their takeout quality is also just as good as the seated experience. My favorite dishes are the paneer saag, chicken tandoori, lamb tikka masala, and lamb biryani. This place is great for groups or date nights and can accommodate kids. The service is always very good and the servers are nice. I highly recommend it!

Yelp
Himalayan Cuisine is a restaurant highly recommended by acquaintances and I had dined here multiple times including food delivery. Almost every dish I ordered tasted off, NOT fresh and was either too sweet, too salty or had zero taste ie Bland and Flavorless. Their Saag paneer was not authentic tasting, a disappointment and a disaster. I've had amazing Himalayan food from Tara's in Los Angeles, and the food I've had here is not comparable this at all :( Good presentation was always careless and sloppy plated. Service by the staff was slow, unprofessional and lacking. Why this restaurant received so many high rating reviews is a mystery because I stronger disagree. The interior dining room had lovely chandelier lighting and the walls decorated with a menagerie of Himalayan baskets, assortment of ethnic art. Most people who haven't had much exposure to true Himalayan cuisine sadly don't know any better. This restaurant has the opportunity to improve many dishes, food preparation, presentation and staff service. Have given this restaurant the benefit of doubt but they repeated failed in every area. My generous 2 star is for some of the staff who were nice to Me and my service baby.

Yelp
You can't go wrong with Himalayan Cuisine. we've been going here for years. We started with takeout and then moved to dining in: both experiences are a high recommend. there are so many dishes I enjoy here: vegetable pakora, vegetable samosa, mango chicken, chicken tandoori, butter chicken, saag paneer. Our little one loves eating here too, the lentil daal is his absolute favorite. The people who work here are always kind, inviting and conscientious. Note for parents: the changing station is actually right outside of the men's and women's restrooms which can be very convenient.

Yelp
This place is our favorite Himalayan/Napalese restaurant in San Diego! Authentic dishes, the staff dress the part, the food is absolutely delicious, their dining room area is clean and tidy, their service is second to none. We don't mind driving all the way from South Bay to La Mesa to dine here. We love their Tandoori Chicken (boneless), Mushroom AND Chicken Tikki Masala, Chicken Momo, Chicken Biryani, and I can't forget to mention their complimentary lentil soup they serve prior to the dishes being served. The place is large enough to hold special occasions. If you love Himalayan cuisine, make sure you try this spot!

Yelp
Our go to restaurant for Indian food! We love the chicken, tiki masala, and the Saleg paneer For appetizers, the vegetarian samosas are terrific. They offer a cilantro and a tamarind dipping sauce. The potatoes and peas are comforting in the crusty Samosa. We are wimps and order heat level number three. The cilantro, garlic, naan, and the cheese garlic naan are wonderful! We also love the chicken biryani.... If you order enough, they give you a complimentary pea soup. Be sure to order a mango lassi or ice cream to cool off your mouth afterwards!

Yelp
Absolutely love this place came in during the week for dinner with a friend and their chicken tikka is amazing, they bring complementary lentil soup to the table. My friend ordered chili chicken and it was delicious. I have also ordered the Tandoori mixed and it was a huge amount of food. They also have an Indian market next door which I love to grab spices and teas. I come to this place often and I can not recommend enough. Servers constantly check on you and the ambiance is moody.

Yelp
Still my favorite Indian food in San Diego!! Seriously the best spot for curry and naan. I love the chicken tikki masala, a classic. My partner gets the butter chicken and loves it. You pick 1-10 spice level, I enjoy spicy food but can only handle a 4 or 5. The curry is always so warm and smells amazing. The portions are generous and I always have some leftover for lunch the next day. The service is always so friendly and fast. We are checked on often and our waters are always replenished. I also appreciate the complimentary lentil soup. Overall an excellent place.

Yelp
Went here for a family dinner. Many people waiting but only for take out. Had a Himalayan Blue Lager- wonderful beer. We also tried some white house wine. Both very good. House salad was good but very large portion. Recommend splitting the salad. For apps, we had the fried cheese and simosas. The meal was proceded by lentil soup and garlic naan bread. We tried chicken curry, lamb makthani and a few other chicken dishes. Many vegetarian options available. Want to come back to try som tandoori dishes. All were flavorful and perfect temperature. Excellent rice (lighter than air-lol) . Good comfortable boothes but large tables are available for 5 or more. Pleasant interior, clean. Below average sound/noise. Parking out front is easy. Try the market next door to take home some treats. Try it you'll like it!!!

Yelp
This place is an epiphany on the rich, complex cuisine from Nepal. Lamb, goat, lentil and curry are on point, the vegetarian options just as great, be sure to deep dive the menu here.

Yelp
We had a family of 4 to feed for the night so we ordered 5 entrees and a few sides - yup more than enough feed! Mom and I had Chicken Tikka Masala. Sauce was good, chicken was a little dry but overall good. The Mango Chicken Tikka Masala was amazing. Tender chicken and great flavor. Would definitely recommend it. Vegetible samosa was good. Naan made a nice compliment - we did each garlic and cheese. The other entrees I didn't get to try but did well with the family. One had shrimp and I had some of it the next day. Not bad. Leftovers were still tasty. Everyone was happy with the meal and at the end of the day, that's what counts! In fact, now I'm curious about the store next to the restaurant to see what spices I can get to try cooking some thing on my own!

Yelp
First visit to Himalayan Cuisine, we stopped by on a Tuesday around 3pm - Our waitress greeted us warmly at the entrance and we were promptly seated. The restaurant is bigger than I expected from the pictures, there were about 4 other tables being served alongside from what I could tell. She kindly took our orders and we were served our complimentary lentil soup right away. Our food arrived within the next 15 mins. I opted for a Mango Lassi, it was smooth and not too sweet, the Chicken Tikka Tandoori was juicy and flavorful as well. The Garlic + Cilantro Naan was a must, delicious! Also tried Gulab Jamun for the first time, and these were definitely sweet but I was expecting that, yummy as well! We'll be coming back!

Yelp
I love the food at the Himalayan it's delicious!! I don't eat spicy but they have all levels of spice. The garlic naan bread is freshly made and amazing! I have eaten both vegetarian and meals w meat. My favorite is the Tiki Masala - vegetarian! The soup is very good too. The ambiance is perfect for a couple or a group. Just going through the doors the smells welcome you in. I go there often - for dinner. Service is outstanding and I love the people there.

Yelp
I have been in search of a great, not just good, Indian food after my most recent visit to London. While I haven't been able to find anything close to the food from London, I'm finding enough to satisfy my cravings! Himalayan Cuisine came with high recommendations and I did really enjoy the meal! I ordered butter chicken and the cheese naan. The portion size was significant. The curry came with a side and I chose basmati rice. My husband and I were able to share a serving. We ordered a spice level 4 and I thought it was perfect. I wouldn't have gone any higher. Spice is objective but I'd say that a 4 is a solid medium. It's clear that they are a very popular take out spot. You can order online for pick up!

Yelp
Indian food has my heart! This is hands down the best Indian food in San Diego. The menu is endless, theres literally something for everyone here. Not a meat eater? They have plenty of veggie options which is great. Staff is always to nice, personable and attentive. The ambiance is pretty cool they have some cute little salt lamp decor and some nice music playing in the background. You won't be disappointed if you try this place out and trust me you'll keep coming back!

Yelp
2.5 stars... Promptly seated at our reserved time in a spacious dining room. Complimentary lentil soup was delivered after placing our order; fried paneer, biryani chicken and chicken tikka masala. Paneer was bland, as was the lentil soup. This surprised me because if you fail to order "mild" on most Indian dishes your tongue will suffer. Tikka nasals and biryani were both good. Check in for free dessert, we chose the galub jamon... but they were brought out with the meal, and were room temp by the time we got to them. Nice space, nice people, average food... this joint joint not make the list...

Yelp
Food was alright, not great. Ordered saag paneer-it was good but not the best that I have ever had. The rice was a nice touch. The chicken momos were HORRIBLE. They were either really overcooked or it was saved from the night before. The momo's outside was hard and rubbery and not chewable. They ended up taking it off the bill but this was after multiple stares from the staff. Sorry, but you can clearly see that it was overcooked or just reheated. It's almost like when you buy a bag of frozen dumplings and you heat it up in the microwave but it dries out the dumpling. The vegetable samosas were good and piping hot.
