After a long day of walking around London in the cold and rain, we decided to have a light dinner here - we have been once before around 6 years ago with friends.
As it was 8:30 on Friday night and we had no booking, we were pleasantly surprised to immediately be shown to a table for two. As we weren’t that hungry, having shared a bag of hot chips a few hours earlier, we only ordered croquettes de jamon and gambas al ajillo with a side of bread to soak up the hot olive oil.
To drink we each had a red wine sangria and some tap water.
The service was friendly and quick, which was pleasing to see as it was a busy Friday night.
The food was tasty. The prawns was very good. However, there was not many garlic slices in the olive oil. In Malaysia, they tend to throw a lot of garlic in with the gambas al ajillo.
The sangria was so-so as it had the taste of being pre-mixed rather than having be made from scratch.
The whole bill was £50.94 including a (voluntary) service charge of 13.5% which I did not mind paying.
Overall it was a very nice, but not outstanding dinner.
