Just had the most amazing meal at Sabroso! The food is out of world—perfectly seasoned and super fresh. The staff is friendly and made me feel right at home. Plus, the vibe is so chill and fun. Can’t wait to come back and try more dishes! Definitely a hidden gem! 🥑🌮❤️

Place was clean and cute! We watched the game and they was playing some nice music. The food was AMAZING! I had a steak torta and the steak was tender and delicious (I dislike when I order steak and get more of a grounded up style than chopped up so this was perfect. The bread was fresh. Buñuelos were a great dessert. Spent like $40 on 2 dinners one pop and dessert. I was expecting to pay more, the portions were great for leftovers. Raul was our server and he was super attentive! He would check in at the perfect time. Will definitely be back soon!

My crew and I were working on the area. We google some restaurants and this was the place with good reviews. we decided to give it a try and this restaurant it’s absolutely delicious from the moment you walked in they make you feel Welcome Juan our Waiter was great Really good customer service he was really friendly and very attentive! Johnny also was great thank you for everything and the cooks I give you guys a tent. Food was delicious. And the Salsas OMG 😋delicious! I really recommend this restaurant you guys won’t be disappointed

The food is amazing, big portions and the staff is so friendly. Jesus took care of us and we had a pleasant conversation. Everything was great. Love this place. Never disappoint.

This place is truly a great little local spot. The staff is kind and attentive and the food was amazing. We got fajitas, the quesabirria plate and the carne asada plate. Everything was fresh, hot, and super tasty. I will be coming back ALOT

We had a hankering for a good, ungreasy burrito and based on the other reviews, wanted to give this place a try. It was rather disgusting, as the pictures clearly show. Too many refried beans. The sour cream turned into a liquid mush. The meat was rather gristly. Overpriced and poor quality.

You get what you pay for here. In my opinion cheap prices mean low quality ingredients. Given chips with a salsa roja and verde to start. For our entrees we split a California burrito and the carne asada fries (chorizo instead). The burrito wasn’t wrapped very well and a bit greasy. It had a good balance of steak, guac, and beans, but I honestly couldn’t taste the fries inside. The chorizo fries were absolutely covered in cheese, sour cream, and pico. The chorizo was fine and the fries got pretty soggy but that’s expected given the amount of ingredients on top. Also, got two nice big dollops of guac. Both dishes got to a point where we couldn’t eat any more since the flavors were tiring. With Mexican good there’s a very high floor, but this place lacked additional flavor. I felt that little seasoning was used and the food relied heavily on oil for flavor. Cheap and filling but that’s it.

We loved the food here! We tasted every type of taco and they were all delicious. Wish we could have eaten everything on the menu because it all looked and smelled so good. We ended with the flan for desert and it was super tasty too! The service was amazing- we came with someone who had never had authentic Mexican cuisine and our waiter made sure our meal and experience was perfect. Would highly recommend and we can’t wait to go back again soon.

SABROSO IS ONE OF THEEE TOP MEXICAN RESTAURANTS IN CHICAGO!! I say this as a Mexicana who values authenticity when it comes to her Mexican food. Sabroso is TRUE AUTHENTICITY. The owner is the absolute sweetest and loves to interact with his customers! The ambiance of the restaurant is warm and welcoming. I 10000% recommend their Mole enchiladas. Mole is my favorite dish and they make it perfect!!!! Truly is Chefs Kiss!! The carry-out/take-out ordering is quick/smooth. The portions are VERY GENEROUS which I LOVE!! I seriously love this place and truly believe it deserves all the Hype and love that will come their way! Vamos Sabroso!!!

This place has great value. I ordered to go and was able to eat a full meal for leftovers the next day. High five for the portion size! Inside was pretty active for a cold night, I could tell people were enjoying their meals. I'd def be back to try more things on the menu. Opted for chicken fajitas this visit.

Came here after googling for places near by for dinner. The food was delicious. We tried the carne asada and the tilapia ranchera with shrimp. Both good but the ranchera was flavorful...even my kid liked the shrimp and fish. Kids got the cheese quesadilla which was sharable for 2 little kids. It's a win when the food is good and the kids ate without screens or fussing! Looking forward to coming back. Service was very hospitable.

First impressions? Ha, I've been here many times and the folks who work here are great! I just inhaled a steak California burrito, and had to fight my dog to avoid him from eating it Lots of people on dates and outside seating available too. Check them out!

If I could give 6 starts I would! Incredible food, the friendliest and most attentive servers (even for those outside in the patio). So much food for the best prices and all full of flavor and good, quality ingredients.

Sporadically wanted some Mexican food and decided to stop by. The service was great due to the friendliness and speed. Our server was very helpful and welcoming which made the trip even better. The chips are fresh and the salsa delicious. I'd say that the green salsa was the best. The red pozole with pork is a very flavorful dish but can be overwhelming if you decided to eat the whole bowl yourself. I'd recommend sharing this dish. The ultimate fajitas entree was delicious, but mainly because of the sauces that accumulated on the bottom of the platter from cooking. The meat and vegetables didn't have seasoning, but it wasn't a bad thing. This allowed the juices from the everything to really shine. The portions are also really big for a great price. You probably won't finish this on your own. At the end our server gave us the chocoflan for free. Unfortunately, while the flan itself was fine, the sauce on top was very artificial tasting. This degraded the dish in our opinion. Based on my trip this place is a solid 4.5 out of 5 and I would recommend giving it a shot.

This place is my new favorite Mexican restaurant in the city. Juan did an excellent job taking care of us, recommending his favorites. The skirt steak tacos were perfection. Also loved the chicken tortilla soup. The house made salsa and chips were spectacular. No, I am not related to anyone who owns this restaurant or works here. Sabrosi! is a true secret gem.

Sabroso is a great neighborhood spot with friendly, quick service. The complimentary chips and salsa were fresh, and the guac was a generous portion. My enchiladas were tasty but could've used more sauce and cheese. My partner's steak fajitas had good flavor but were a bit dry. Overall, it's a solid place for a casual meal, and we'll be back!

Stopped in right before they closed and was reassured that we would be taken care of. My family loves the Birria taco dinner and the owner was so kind and gave us complimentary chips and salsa! That's what I call exemplary customer service.

A nondescript little Mexican BYOB restaurant that we stopped by for a bite to eat before an event. My friend and I decided to go with their special, quesabirria tacos. The salsa and chips they brought to the table, tasted very authentic, homemade and delicious. The entrées were stuffed with, the shredded beef and were incredible tasting. With three tacos each my friend and I could have split them. Servers were friendly and seem to be a family owned business. Nice decorations throughout added to the atmosphere. If I'm in the area again would definitely go back.

I live close to Santosh and have been a few times. Each time I've had a burrito and tonight I tried the carnitas. It was excellent. The chips and salsas filled me up, but I enjoyed every bite. Service was good and it was not crowded when I dined in around 1930. Will definitely keep coming back.

Talk about quality Mexican food for an amazing price with friendly service! The portions are MASSIVE my boyfriend couldn't even finish half of his burritos which he usually scarfs down the whole thing at every restaurant. Service and food A+

It's in a nice corner spot. Had fajitas, they were great. You could easily share the ultimate fajitas with another person. Nice service. Ambiance is no frills but cozy.

We will definitely be back Chicken Tortilla Soup - 9/10 - only because there was a lot of tortilla strips on top and inside (double what I typically have from other places Mushroom chicken - 10/10 Nachos were huge and a great start 0/10

This place is the best! The chicken tortilla soup is everything. I love that it has a lot of lime flavor. It is a bit spicy as it but I personally love spicy so no complaints. The chicken tinga tacos are also 10/10.

This place was amazing! JESUS was the most amazing waiter. He was friendly . This a BYOB place, the food is amazing it was full of favor and my carna asad Was cooked to perfect! I highly recommend this restaurant.

SO GOOD - ordered for delivery. Favorite items ordered / ranked / why 1. Pork Tamale w red sauce: cooked so perfectly and fluffy moist and the pork was really good and not dry and large portion 2. Al Pastor Taco: again pork was cooked perfectly and a lot of flavor 3. California Burrito: a ton of food absolutely gigantic, tasted really good fries were soggy but we expected that since we got delivery. We love California Burritos and we're happy we split this lol since it was massive 4. Chicken Tortilla Soup: I love chicken tortilla soup and this one had plenty of flavor and chicken and avocado. For people who don't eat spice regularly this would be considered medium for spice level, for people who eat foods that are spiced regularly, it's pretty mild. 5. Chicken Tamale w green sauce: love tamales but chicken ones are hard cause they can sometimes dry out. Still good but added more salsa and a large portion. We also ordered the carne asada taco and taquitos, but they were ok!

This place reminded me of my grandmas house. The carne asada taco was just like home! The green pozole was yummy and cozy. The overall food was 10/10. The waiter was very polite and kind. He made a brand new table for us to sit, so we wouldn't have to wait. They also had fresh horchata and Jamaica!

This is a chain restaurant that feels more like an independent. We were referred here to kill time and have dinner before a drinking date. Everything started great, beginning with the greeting from Juan, who seemed to sincerely want to make sure we had everything we needed and that we were enjoying things. The complimentary chips, green salsa and bean dip with red salsa were a terrific start. We then got a 12 oz tortilla soup, a chicharones taco a la carte and one (of 3 offered) of the specials, the quesabirria platter (3 delicious tacos with consommé and garnishes). Everything was really good and the prices were very reasonable. They also have both red and green pozole offered daily and are on delivery services. I'm really excited to try the pozole and if you're in the area and need a bite, definitely check it out. No alcohol but I think they're BYO.

Yum. The food was delicious and our server was so nice. We tried both the shrimp and al pastor tacos which were amazing. The refried beans were smoky and a crowd pleaser. If you're like me and have driven past this place many times without stopping to try it, the time is now!

Sabroso is one of my favorite Mexican restaurant. There is a Sabroso in Orange County, California but this place is slightly better in my opinion. If you want authentic and delicious, you gotta come here. Everything we had was absolutely amazing. Best Mexican food I had in a long time. The staff here are all wonderful and they made us feel like family. I love this place.

It was a pleasant experience to eat at Sabroso, which means tasty in Spanish. I parked right on Erie, in the neighborhood. It's BYOB but I forgot my cervesas, so maybe next time. Our friendly server mentioned that we can also bring in wine or tequila, it's fine with them. By the way, we received Great service, our server was very helpful in helping us order as first time diners. He explained that their tamales are made every two days, therefore, you can really taste the freshness. I got one chicken and one pork tamale and both were outstanding. Not dried out at all and filled with their respective protein. The tortilla chips come with two fiery sauces, my mouth is watering just thinking of the heat. My carne asada taco had a ton of protein, and my carnitas taco had even more. The steak tampiquena came out sizzling and hot, I transferred it to a clean plate so it wouldn't over cook. We sat next to families on a Sunday afternoon, they're certainly popular.

My girlfriend and I decided to get a bite to eat in West Town and rather than try the regular hot dog spot I convinced her to try Sabroso for both of our 1st time! This place did not disappoint, amazing food for a great value price! The one thing that stood out the most was our server Raul, he was very polite and tentative to our needs and he was very knowledgeable with the menu, he even was able to adjust my burrito to a burrito bowl and get half steak and half alpastor in a drop of a hat, we will be coming back for the great eats and the amazing customer service! Raul is a 5 star server!!

The food is not good I'm from Texas and this isn't Tex mex Service was good Did I mention how bad the food is Sorry but it's true Tortillas tasted boring Chips were the best part

My husband and I were looking for a restaurant to eat during our break exploring the different galleries for CXW Chicago. We were happy to find this place that offered some of our favorite Mexican dishes. I ordered their chilaquilles with chorizo and my husband ordered the quesibirria. We loved the food and atmosphere. The stay was super welcoming. I'm glad we finally found a great place for comfort Mexican food.

Sabroso is delicious! Their whole menu is... For the warmer days, they have outdoor seating, which is awesome. Authentic food for sure, coming from a true Mexican. Love to support local businesses as well. They also have great customer service, everyone is so nice. #3 grilled chicken tacos is my go to lol

I'm from San Diego, so I know good Mexican food. This place gets a 5 star from me. Whenever I have a bean and cheese burrito craving, I order from here. Not to mention their salsas slap.

Passed by this place so many times and didn't think of going until I read the reviews. Everything we ordered was great, as was the service. Breakfast burrito was huge, I can only eat half and the other half warmed up nicely the next day. The taquitos were packed full of chicken, and the chile relleno sauce was delish. Chipa and salsa was good but perhaps a bit heavy on the garlic. I love the beans they use here, so creamy and full of flavor. The inside isn't fancy and is small but it gives you homey Mexican kitchen vibes.

The service was pleasant here, but the food had no flavor. It was super disappointing based on the reviews. Unfortunately we didn't even finish our tamales. We were looking forward to having good Mexican food in Chicago. This place fell short significantly compared to Mexican food I've eat in other parts of the U.S., Mexico, and even in my own home.

I met friends here for happy hour. Margaritas were great. My friend recommended the pastor tacos that were awesome with homemade tortillas. The service was friendly and efficient. The ambiance here is casual and the restaurant is great for groups too. I will need back

I love a good taco. My friend and I wanted to get some food to catch up during our lunch breaks, and Sabroso became the destination. It's a warm, home-field vibe, and the food smelled so good as you walked in the door. Our waitress was very polite and accommodating to my questions. Since we were in lunch, I kept it very simple with two steak tacos and a delicious coffee. The tacos were seasoned very well. My friend got the green chicken pozole which looked terrific, and she said it was great. It was a very hefty portion, so if you're looking for something to take with you to eat later, this is a perfect choice. Over, an excellent first outing at this very modest spot would be back again if in the area. 4 out of 5

Great food and great customer service. Highly recommended. I went twice in one weekend while visiting Chicago. Once for lunch and once for breakfast. Both were excellent.

An amazing restaurant. We were in the area and relied on Yelp to help find a Mexican It is a very unassuming corner, neighborhood restaurant. We walked in to a small restaurant, but were greeted so warmly. Before we had settled fresh chips and two homemade salsas were served. They offer many selections and our waiter was so helpful. We started with a pork tamale appetizer. It was freshly made and was impressive. One of the owners brought us another salsa he wanted us to try. It was too spicy for most of us, fiery and hot. My husband had the carne asada tacos . Three tacos filled with a generous portion of steak. I had the Al Pastor burrito. It was packed with pork and I barely could finish half of it, because it was massive. My son had enchiladas and my daughter had Camarones a la Diabla, sautéed shrimp. We had a wonderful experience, service was outstanding and we felt as if we were in a Mexican home. The hospitality was impressive. Highly recommend,

just ordered for 1st time and order exceeded my expectations!!! chips and guacamole... yum yum tamales, one each chicken and pork both delish... enchiladas mole entree super large with black beans and rice plus alittle salad. too spicy for me but would order again with green sauce. and will try chocolate dessert next time. fair pricing too

Always delicious. Love their homemade salsa and chips. Can't go wrong with the shrimp salad and tacos. They are always friendly and the price is fair. My boyfriend likes their enchiladas. They put a ton of mole sauce on them, so you might want to have it on the side. Guacamole is always great. Yum! Live sitting outside in warm weather. We do carry out in colder temps.

First time here small restaurant with very comfortable feel wonderful wait staff. Food absolutely delicious. The smell from the kitchen was amazing. Very happy we came here .we will come again .

This is a great place to stop by and try. The chips and salsa are good but basic. I tried to Al pastor torta and it was huge and delicious. My partner got enchiladas and loved them also. I don't recommend the cheese sauce. Do note the closest place to grab beer is about 3 blocks away for BYOB

Such a pleasant surprise! No one in our group of four had ever eaten here before. The service here was top notch! It was only topped by the great food. Sadly, I only got a picture of my own meal. I especially loved the tacos and guacamole. The rice was very good. Actually everything was and we all enjoyed our meals. The portions are generous. I ended up filling up on the delicious guacamole and fresh warm chips. Our group also shared a tamale that was very good. We did not realize it is BYOB, but we will know for next time. There WILL be a future visit to this great Mexican restaurant. FYI, they also have take out. Highly recommend!!

Another great trip to Sabroso! Had the California burrito w red sauce as well as sampled a taco. The burritos here are so good. I know the menu has a lot of other items that I'm sure are fantastic but the burrito keeps me coming back. Great service as always!

Went for breakfast. Got the info from Yelp. So we figured we try it out. Breakfast was good. Prices were reasonable. Wanted a michelada and the menu did say they had them and it was one of the best! However I guess that was the location they were at previously. This location does not have or make them. It's byob though for next time. Service was quick and friendly. Place is small but nice.

This place is sooo delicious. I came with my family of 7 and the food was out super quick. We got tacos, pozole, burritos, fajitas, and desserts. Everyone enjoyed their food and portions were hugeee. My fav savory food were the frijoles charros with chips. The tres leches dessert was soo yummy aswell. The service was 10/10 everyone was so sweet!
