Let me be clear when I say that at 1pm today, I absolutely knew I'd be writing a bad review after waiting an hour and 15 minutes for a table we were told would take 30 minutes. I was wrong. but, here's a few things to know:
1. All the reviews mentioned the restaurant is "cozy," but that is a grand understatement. This place is flat out small, like about roughly 10 tables total small on the inside, plus bar seating for about 10 ish people total. If you're planning to eat inside, understand that a wait is likely on typical busy days. But it's worth it.
2. The menu is also small. This ain't Dennys or the Cheesecake Factory, and there aren't pages and pages of options. They do what they do, and they do those things well.
3. The Bloody Mary was great. I could have had about five, but only had one since I was driving. Tragic, responsible, adult decision. Next time I will not be driving!!!
4. The Ham & Eggs with the onion jam is what a sweet and savory lover like myself dreams of. If this doesn't stay on the menu, I'm not coming back to Omaha to visit my sister again. What else would be the point? Why would I bring her nephew here without this meal? Nope. This single handedly made the wait worth it for me.
5. The Shakshouka. Thank you. The only thing that could have made this better was a tandoori oven to cook the naan in. This was a lovely surprise.
6. The damn Jams. Order them. they weren't offered to us, so ask. Again, this isn't the chain place that gives you the silver holder with the prepackaged standard stuff. This is homemade somewhere and uses love, fresh ingredients and passion to make this magic and it belongs in your belly.
7. When it's busy, parking is garbage and you'll have to walk a bit down the street. Again, worth the walk.
8. The braised bacon means pork belly I think. Why anyone would order regular bacon when the braised option is given is unbeknownst to me.
9. I'm much fatter than my profile pic, it's old. I know what I'm talking about!
