"Saddle Creek Breakfast Club serves higher end and vegan versions of diner breakfast classics, including banana pancakes, biscuits and gravy, and a handful of Mexican-inspired dishes. In 2024, it moved west from its original midtown Omaha location to a new space with a larger dining room and higher visibility." - Sarah Baker Hansen

"SCBC is an old-fashioned diner meets trendy breakfast spot in one of the city’s most historic neighborhoods. It pours locally roasted coffee from upstart Amateur Coffee, which just opened its own shop, alongside upscale, seasonal diner classics like eggs Benedict and banana pancakes as well as a selection of vegan dishes. Look for the bright pink neon to know you’re in the right place." - Sarah Baker Hansen

Pretty dissatisfied with the service here, and the portion sizes for the price. We asked for the berry preserves toppings on the side of the French toast, and were told that it was on top, or none at all. That the kitchen was to busy to be able to accommodate. That’s not a complicated or time consuming request. It’s pretty simple to simply put it into a separate bowl, or off to the side. While it was the end of the brunch rush, and they had been busy, business was definitely slowing! The French Toast, while tasty, was 3 slices of very small pieces of bread. Especially for the price! We liked the food, but definitely didn’t feel like the service and portions sizes were worth what we paid. The staff wasn’t rude, but they didn’t go out of the way to be friendly or serve well. Maybe it’s my southern roots, but to me, customer service and hospitality goes a long way. We travel frequently, and have been a lot of places. I don’t leave this review lightly. Hopefully this will help others looking to try to find a local place to try out! Tasty, but small portions for the price, and not very accommodating to customers.

My dish here was an easy 5/5 stars (even though it was on the small side). The black coffee I ordered on the other hand was an easy 0/5 stars. Service has room for improvement as others have noted but again, the food was awesome, and that’s what I care about most. I’ll be back, so take that for whatever it’s worth.

I have always enjoyed SCBC, but this is my first chance to review it. So, on to the review - definitely go eat here. Go for breakfast so that you can be seated right away. Waaaaay to many people want to go here for brunch, so if this is you, be prepared to wait. They have a big patio area so if you go when the weather is nice the seating capacity is pretty much doubled. If you do end up having to wait, they offer free coffee in their little waiting area which is a really nice touch. The employees are always friendly and I have always had great service. I had the banana bread French toast for the first time and it was delicious. Granted, it was quite decadent, but still delicious. I'm so glad they survived COVID, and I look forward to future visits.

What a quaint, delicious spot with unique offerings and excellent service. I loved that the fresh fruit offering had bananas and berries rather than the stock melons and pineapple. I loved the bacon artichoke omelet as well. For those who need to wait for a table—it’s a small dining room—they serve coffee as an added “perk!” (Pun intended) It was too chilly today but we’ll be back to try the outdoor area.

We ate here for the first time today. It's a very small place, with only 4-5 tables inside plus a bar and a booth or two. Expect a wait, even on a Tuesday at 1030am. The menu is tiny. The mimosas are very good offering various ciders to mix with OJ. The food was also really solid. I wouldn't consider it an Omahas best though like most people seem to. Menu is too small and the food was a bit bland.

Oh. My God. THIS place made me smile sunny-side up! There's a reason why this place usually has quite the wait on a weekend mornings (don't worry, you can have a cup of Joe while you wait). But after hearing about it for SO LONG I finally woke up early enough to go check it out. They have seating inside at tables, at a bar, and outside on the porch. Their menu is simple: the classic American breakfasts... with a few special twists to make them truly their own. Menu options range from $7-$15 for mains. I got the Cali Club: an egg sandwich on a buttery croissant with their own sauce and avocado. I LOVED the hot sauce they serve with it: a local brand right out of Bellevue. I decided to add a side of hashbrowns too. Good news: they also have delicious vegan options as well. The staff was very attentive and friendly. I would recommend this place for a breakfast date, with family, or with a small group of friends. I left with a smile on my face!

Thought it was just OK. Somewhat pricey and a limited menu. Meals around us as well as ours were little less than normal size and with minimal ingredients. Was expecting more due to the hype. Small place with tight spacing. Meh. Sry but have had plenty better bfasts elsewhere.

Worth the wait. This small breakfast spot often has a long wait on weekend mornings, but don't let that deter you. This was the best breakfast we've had in the Omaha metro.

Yelp
This was so so cute. Which honestly ended up being the icing on the Bennie bc my breakfast was AMAZING! I got a crab cake Bennie and omg I'm still craving it. My fiance got the lemon berry pancake with a side of eggs. The side of scrambled eggs were even so good (sometimes I feel like they can be bland). And the price wasn't too bad imo. The hot sauce photographed below btw- FREAKING HOT!!!!! And trust me, we know hot. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I've been in Omaha for a couple years now and this place has always been on the list. I just never had the chance to check it out. Well thanks to a weekday off, errands to run, and a dash of spontaneity I finally got that chance! Usually, I'd start off with my thoughts on the food but I think the service deserves its own spotlight. From walking in, the atmosphere was welcoming. I was very quickly ushered to a table. The staff were so incredibly friendly and quick with a smile! That day, their system went down and they couldn't print tickets but, honestly, the hand written bill on the notepad was super adorable! The special (of the week?) was the chicken fried pork with chorizo sausage gravy and 2 eggs. Chicken fried steak? Nope. Chicken fried chicken? Yes. Chicken friend pork?! That's a new one for me, and it was quite good! I was half expecting the pork to dry when I saw all the gravy but that was far from the truth! It was tender and easy to cut and bite into. The gravy was very good as well, although I think it could have used some more spice. Fortunately, I was offered hot sauce before I got into it (I probably wouldn't have asked for some). Also, don't ignore the orange wedge! The juice took this to another level. Writing this review on yet another weekday off...I just might have to go in again

Samantha L.

Yelp
New location!! With more parking!! Service was so nice and sweet while being very attentive to us. Make sure to ask for some hot sauce they have some funky different flavors. You won't regret it! The croissant was super flakey but perfect size for me. The ambiance was super cute and fun! Always a good time with my girls

Terry O.

Yelp
The new location is quirky. The pink theme is everywhere, from walls, beams, posts and pink bunnies on art. The fashion pictures in ornate frames covering the walls are a bit startling, but fits in with the place. Parking is much easier at this location. I had the basic breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage links, hash browns and English muffin all cooked just right. There are even vegan items on the menu. The wait staff was attentive and very friendly. You'll have a tasty breakfast here.

Yelp
Saddlecreek Breakfast Club. This was my first time. I'm glad they are in a bigger place. Love the decor and atmosphere. The menu consists of the normal as well as their own creations with an added bonus of cocktails! I had a screwdriver with cream that was fantastic but I failed to get a pic. The classic eggs Benedict had a thick slab of ham. I did have to order hash browns on the side but think they should have come with. Granddaughter had ordered French toast that arrived well after my Dad and I had our first bites. They did say there was a mixup on the order and gave us half off of that so much appreciated. I'm anxious to go back and try something different

Jeffrey L.

Yelp
Blackstone Bene is a hit! Delicious new menu options +.50 for egg shortages. Wonderful service always!!!

Castencil C.

Yelp
Can't say enough good things about this place. The food is good (and hearty) which a breakfast spot should be. The atmosphere is fun, the place is well decorated! Service has always been great. The best part? Trying their variety of hot sauces. Definitely check this place out for a staple breakfast!

Kristi S.

Yelp
So good and so fun. The atmosphere is great. I love the food and service. A spot I will be going to again. I got their breakfast sandwich with bacon and the bread was all fluffy and soft. Yum

Roselle A.

Yelp
An Omaha brunch classic. I loved going to their old location off Saddle Creek, but this location is so great for them. They have new take on classic dishes and their mimosas are always great. If you go during the weekend it might be packed, so be ready to wait, but honestly we normally wait and it's always worth it.

Chad W.

Yelp
Seriously SCBC is my absolute favorite place for Brekkie. I'm not a vegan but the simple vegan breakfast is my Favorite ! So freaking DELICIOUS!!! Omg!!!! Can't get enough of it!

Jess N.

Yelp
Heard this was a popular breakfast place in town so we went to try it out for brunch! There was a wait when we got there, so we waited probably about 30-40min but they were quick to take our orders and food came out quick too! The aesthetics of the place was very interesting and just pleasant environment to be in. The banana pancakes were big and fluffy, but the best part was the peanut butter whipping on top! It was too big to finish for me and was pretty sweet too. We got Hashbrowns on the side, which you cant really go wrong with. We also got the dos salsas de Maria and YUM!!! A savory brunch item on the menu which was perfectly seasoned and just the right portion for one person.

Dave B.

Yelp
Okay. This place is THE hot spot, but it is really overpriced and over hyped. Not that great; especially for the price. I had the Eggs Benedict. It has a crab cake attached rather than short ribs. The acid test for Eggs Benedict is the hollandaise sauce and it just didn't have the flavor and bite that is needed. The previous version was $10. The new version was $14. Way too high. There are two comps to SCB: Lemontree Cafe and Early Bird. Both are superior.

Berit M.

Yelp
What a delicious breakfast date. We opted to sit at the bar since its a popular joint. The service was excellent. Friendly and attentive. I had the best iced latte of my life. I decided to go out of my comfort zone and get the Dos Salas de Maria. It was like a party in my mouth. And while it didn't need it, I added in the jalapeño hot sauce which only elevated the party. My partner got the good ol' saddle creek standard which he ate all of. I love love the ambiance in here. They have pics of Hollywood A listers all over the walls and a lovely pink motif/pink rabbits to top it off. The owners wife is an interior designer which shows. We'll be back!

Yelp
Let me be clear when I say that at 1pm today, I absolutely knew I'd be writing a bad review after waiting an hour and 15 minutes for a table we were told would take 30 minutes. I was wrong. but, here's a few things to know: 1. All the reviews mentioned the restaurant is "cozy," but that is a grand understatement. This place is flat out small, like about roughly 10 tables total small on the inside, plus bar seating for about 10 ish people total. If you're planning to eat inside, understand that a wait is likely on typical busy days. But it's worth it. 2. The menu is also small. This ain't Dennys or the Cheesecake Factory, and there aren't pages and pages of options. They do what they do, and they do those things well. 3. The Bloody Mary was great. I could have had about five, but only had one since I was driving. Tragic, responsible, adult decision. Next time I will not be driving!!! 4. The Ham & Eggs with the onion jam is what a sweet and savory lover like myself dreams of. If this doesn't stay on the menu, I'm not coming back to Omaha to visit my sister again. What else would be the point? Why would I bring her nephew here without this meal? Nope. This single handedly made the wait worth it for me. 5. The Shakshouka. Thank you. The only thing that could have made this better was a tandoori oven to cook the naan in. This was a lovely surprise. 6. The damn Jams. Order them. they weren't offered to us, so ask. Again, this isn't the chain place that gives you the silver holder with the prepackaged standard stuff. This is homemade somewhere and uses love, fresh ingredients and passion to make this magic and it belongs in your belly. 7. When it's busy, parking is garbage and you'll have to walk a bit down the street. Again, worth the walk. 8. The braised bacon means pork belly I think. Why anyone would order regular bacon when the braised option is given is unbeknownst to me. 9. I'm much fatter than my profile pic, it's old. I know what I'm talking about!

Kimberle B.

Yelp
New location is such a vibe! There is much more space and the decor is so cute! Food is still amazing as always! There was a bit of a wait which expected it's such a popular place! Service was great! We got our food pretty fast! The sandwich was delicious and invoiced the crunchy yet soft hash browns! Will be back!

Geni M.

Yelp
I don't think this needs to be said but the food was amazing. I went in an hour before they closed the waitresses did want to leave but that's to be expected and they were still attentive and didn't rush me but I still tried to hurry for their sake.

Leah R.

Yelp
Great local breakfast spot. Seating inside is limited, but service was great and it seemed to move quickly enough when we were there. They have a nice patio as well for outdoor dining. The artichoke omelet was very good. They have several homemade jams/jellies available. I tried the lemon curd and it was really good.

Brandon F.

Yelp
In picture we have crab cakes eggs Benedict. We'll it was amazing, eggs poached perfect, crab cakes were crispy on the outside and perfect inside. Wife just had some of their in house made sausage patties, and they where perfectly cooked and seasoned, very good sausage. They place was a pleasant suprised. Staff was great, ambiance, is a mix from old school diner with some flair.

Chris H.

Yelp
We were going to meet friends for brunch. I am handicapped and use cane to walk. There were no handicap spaces near this restaurant. There was no ramp to walk up over curbs. The curbs were high and broken. I fell and broke my foot. Now I need surgery and 4 -6 weeks recovering. I was told another woman had done the same the week before. This is dangerous! Also there was a big black truck parked right in front that was NOT a parking space. Didn't get a chance to eat there. Our friends said good bit pricy.

Nancy E.

Yelp
We loved the French toast. It is is small inside to plan ahead as you will likely wait but food is worth it!

Bobbi Jo M.

Yelp
Love love love followed from saddle creek...never had a bad meal or service. The new place nice and airy,

L H.

Yelp
Like several things on the menu- pancakes, Burrata toast, breakfast burrito. New location is a little gaudy and girly with decorations compared to old spot. Service is always good.

Barbi B.

Yelp
10/10 great food and service! We were worried it would be a long wait on Christmas Eve morning but we didn't have to wait to get a table for 2. Was tough to choose one item on the menu, everything looked so good! My artichoke omelet was fantastic and the Cali club was CRAZY good. The place is pretty small but not too cramped. Our server was super nice and attentive. Will be back again!

Connie J.

Yelp
It was a great morning, the weather was beautiful so we sat outside! Great outside patio to dine on. Service was excellent and quick. Food was super - BLT with an egg! We had a visitor too LOL

Jana J.

Yelp
This place has been on my list forever and was definitely a great brunch vibe! I was disappointed their menu didn't include some items I looked into before going--chicken fried pork looked amazing, so did their biscuits and gravy but I think the daily menu changes frequently. I had the ham and eggs--hollandaise sauce was great and so was the bread/cheese combo. It could have used more of the sweet flavored sauce, and could have used a small side but otherwise was a great meal. The loaded browns was our tables favorite--great flavor on the gravy! This also could have been a larger portion imo but for the price these dishes were a good medium size. Overall I would return for the nice patio vibe if I knew they had the chicken fried pork on the menu!

Sam H.

Yelp
saddle creek breakfast club will exceed your expectations guaranteed. this is by far one of our favorite breakfast/brunch places in the area. be prepared to wait awhile for your table on busy days/times, but the wait is WAY worth it!!!! can't wait to come back!

Jack H.

Yelp
SCBC has moved into a larger space in Countryside Village, where there is plenty of convenient parking. The atmosphere is is dominated by an interesting shade of pink. My buddy says the french toast still rocks. I love their take on chilaquiles. This is the best breakfast in the Big O. Highly recommended!

Audrey C.

Yelp
SCBC is my favorite breakfast restaurant in Omaha. It's inarguably the best. The food is fantastic. Homemade sauces, salsas, jams and pickles, creative food that is absolutely delicious no matter what you order. The "dos salsas" is out of this world, with perfect eggs and delicious salsas, the French toast is crispy on the outside, custardy on the inside, the portobello omelette is super flavorful, with pesto, goat cheese, roasted red peppers and house made red onions pickles. And I was super excited to have a second location open close to Koji and Inkwell (and my house!) BUT still working out the kinks in this new location. Tables are literally crammed together. It's difficult to sit, get up, or make it to the restroom. And there are so many people that it's crazy, crazy loud. They're doing both takeout and sit down so the food can be slow... we were sat 40 minutes before our food arrived. By then we were so overwhelmed by the noise that we just wanted to get out as fast as we could. It was a huge relief to step outside into the relative hush of Pacific Street traffic. I hope they put up a divider wall or booth or lose a few tables or something. I'm sure things will smooth out and I'll be back to see for sure!

Joseph R.

Yelp
Was in Nebraska on a business trip. My coworker and I were looking for a breakfast spot and found this SCBC in Yelp and decided to give it a try. It was well worth the visit. We liked the ambiance but the food was excellent.

Jennifer S.

Yelp
This was our first time.at the new location. I got the artichoke omelet and my husband got the ham and eggs. They were busy but the food was fantastic. I wish my omelet had more hollandaise sauce but I always like lots of sauce. Solid breakfast spot

Mallory L.

Yelp
Food was great. I had the egg salad club, a bit messy but overall so amazing. The service was good, not a long wait and fast waitress. Very loud in here, and also smells kind of weird. Super cute decor and glasses.

Tope B.

Yelp
Super delicious place! great service, comfortable and cozy atmosphere. Lots of options to fit a variety of palettes. probably one of my favorite breakfasts i've had in omaha!

Rachel B.

Yelp
Went here with my mum for the first time. We ended up waiting a solid half hour but it was so worth it. The food is definitely the star of the show, service was a close second as she was very attentive and kind. Food came out quick which was great and makes sense since this place is teeny tiny! Pretty sure you won't be disappointed in any option you order. Special mention to the hot sauce selection, there is literally a kind for everyone even non hot sauce people.

Lauren O.

Yelp
Love living within walking distance from this fantastic neighborhood breakfast spot! Super casual, chill vibe with friendly service. It's a small space but has some counter seating and a nice, large patio. I love the vegan standard and I'm definitely not vegan. There is always an interesting selection of tasty menu items and it's crazy to think how they execute all these options so quickly with their extremely small kitchen space. My absolute favorite item ever was the Eggs Bolognese - anytime you can have pasta sauce for breakfast is a win for me. Please bring it back!

Juan A.

Yelp
Hello everybody!!! This a great place to have breakfast with friends or family. The food is amazingly delicious. Coffee is awesome.

Jennifer H.

Yelp
Love this place! The windows were open, letting in a nice, cool morning breeze. I went to have breakfast with my husband. The waitress was extremely friendly and helpful. Our food came out very quickly and it was delicious.

Jessica J.

Yelp
Omg!!!!! The burrito alone here is 10/10. When I drive through Omaha to go anywhere I make sure I stop here. I do not care how cold or busy!!!!! The eggs are always fluffy, service always fast No matter how busy and I've never been disappointed. If I could give it 20 stars I would. Yelp
SCBC is one of those places you drive by and say to yourself "I'll try it one day." Well, a few months ago my husband and I had breakfast there and we were NOT disappointed. Whenever I go to a breakfast/brunch restaurant, I get french toast, waffles, eggs benedict. This time I wanted to try something different and ordered the steak omelet (I'm pretty sure it's not in the menu anymore). It was chef's kiss delicious. It was the amount of egg, steak, and other toppings. And the lemon jam on my toasted English muffin? Y'all, I need them to either sell it or give me the recipe. The building is small so be mindful of the time you go.

Krystle K.

Yelp
Many years ago I was here with my husband and sister. I couldn't remember the name of the restaurant or where it was located. When I was looking up places to eat for breakfast today, I saw the high reviews and realized this was the place I ate at several years ago. We ordered banana French toast with fruit and the Vegan standard. Both were delicious and I would order both again. There is some outside seating and a nice area inside. The service was perfect and I can't wait to come here again. The parking lot is small but there's a lot of parking near and if you have little kids there's a park that's not too far.

Emmelynn G.

Yelp
The service was excellent. Staff is friendly and attentive. The food is GOOD! Lots of options, even VEGAN!! They have house made jam/jelly and it is so good! I know this is gonna sound weird but even their sourdough bread was toasted perfectly. Sourdough bread can be really hard and hurt the roof of my mouth lol BUT theirs was the perfect toastiness and texture. A little tight in there bc it's a small space but definitely worth it. Can't wait to go again

Jeanne P.

Yelp
You guys really need to move forward on your future new corner spot at Countryside. I see signage now to let all know you really are opening soon! Alan Meier has done a great job of bringing in a good mix of " Koji Sush" & Pizza spot & a great Vegetarian Restaurant " Root" opening soon. We want you to come soon! Jeanne Penry #402-699-4036 jeannesdesign @gmail.com

Yelp
1st time visiting and looking forward to going back! Service, drinks and food was a great experience. Really liked the option to sit outside.

Rick P.

Yelp
Forgot pic of my meal but got the portobello omelette with side of house made sausage patty. In this little hole in the wall atmosphere came a gourmet burst of texture and flavor. We waited a longgggg time before even being greater or asked how many, yet they were very busy and the service was quick and friendly. Coffee smelled and tasted a bit strange to me but hey....life is an adventure!

Sarah J.

Yelp
The waitress and host were both very nice. We thought we'd have a 40 minute wait, but it ended up being much less, so don't go too far away if you're on the waitlist. The food was delicious. My husband and I shared a banana bread French toast and their breakfast standard. Yum! The wallpaper was very interesting with photos of famous people. We liked that the table we sat at had a little loveseat on one side. The acoustics made it a little hard to hear sometimes, so we sat next to each other on the loveseat.

A W.

Yelp
Breaks my heart to post this, but service at Saddle Creek isn't what it used to be at the original location. I miss the woman with the medium blonde hair from the old location who was manager/main waitress. She was so nice. Haven't seen her last few times at the new location. A lot of the new staff at this new location is rude, and sometimes downright hostile. Acting as if you're inconveniencing them. Happened a few times to us now on a few visits. Really a shame. Hope they can get rid of the wait staff dragging this place down as the food is really really good but some of the service we had lately is absolutely unacceptable.

Carolyn P.

Yelp
Three of us were here for Sunday brunch. I'd heard so much about it that I was excited to talk a friend visiting from out of town that we should try it for brunch. The food was great. Small menu but a good variety. Downsides. Super super small place. Parking is street parking and hard to find. Accessibility isn't good. It is just too tight. They had quite the wait which we were happy to do. Once we were seated we felt rushed and our server was impatient. If we went back It would be for a midweek lunch that was hopefully more leisurely.

Sarah P.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try SCBC for a while now and I'm so glad I made it in. Firstly, on the weekends, you can anticipate a wait but it really was not too bad (45 min on Sunday at 10:30). Additionally, they make the wait more pleasant with more than adequate outdoor seating and free drip coffee. Once we were seated, the service was wonderful and exceptionally quick. We tried the cider mimosas, which they have multiple different cider flavors for. I tried the mango cider mimosa, which was a delicious combo and an intriguing take on a normal mimosa. For an entree, I had the Dos Salsas de Maria, which I thought was fabulous. The pickled onions and avocado really brought the dish together. Overall, I loved the atmosphere here, service was exceptional, and food was delicious. Can't wait to come back!

Nikki J.

Yelp
I visited here for a solo breakfast on a random weekday off work. They have a small parking lot in front of the building, and plenty of street parking around. I had a short wait, but the staff kept me in the loop that they would get me a table asap. So sweet and friendly! It was busy that day, so I can only imagine what the wait is on a weekend! I ordered an iced coffee, and the artichoke omelet. Everything was absolutely delicious! Will be back for sure!

Alessia J.

Yelp
My friend and I went here for breakfast for the first time, and it was definitely one of my favorites. The wait staff were super helpful and kind. There was a spacious patio with some room in the cafe itself. I got the breakfast standard with gluten free toast and strawberry rhubarb jam. It was perfect for the morning and came with a good amount of food. The gluten free toast isn't shown on the menu, but the staff were knowledgeable and answered all the questions I had, so just ask! I definitely will be back to try again.
