We ordered Malai Kofta with garlic and butter naan. The portion size of malai kofta was huge. Easily enough for 3 people. There was jeera rice that comes with it too. Tasty and heavy food which will probably make us dose off post lunch.

Google
I ordered the shrimp biryani and it was very yummy and flavorful. The shrimp were well cooked and the spices were just right. Everything tasted fresh and authentic. We tried butter chicken and it was good also. I really enjoyed my meal and would definitely order again. Highly recommend this for Indian cuisine!

Google
We started with cheese naan and samosas for all 4 of us and a bottle of Riesling. The service was fast and they were very attentive with the water refills. We questioned the spicy levels of all dishes as we all like spicy but don’t want it to be too hot to enjoy. Entrees came out soon after we finished the apps and we were pleased with the “spicy” rate (which the waiter told us was more like a 6 for Indian ratings). My butter chicken was excellent but I should have tamed it down to a 3-4 as my eyes were sweating! We had plentiful portions and brought home half of two entrees to reheat later (after adding some yogurt to tone it down!)

Google
Loved this restaurant!! This was my second time here and from the pleasant floral smells at the entrance to the tantalizing smells of the food, it was yet another fantastic experience. The mixed grill was phenomenal, cooked so well!! The lamb biryani was also very tasty!! The lunch special of the lamb chettinad was a huge serving for a great price! The service was exceptional! We asked for more dessert and they gave us a container filled to the brim. We came from Miami specifically to eat here and ill definitely come back! I highly recommend for others looking for a great Indian restaurant.

Google
We ordered carryout for our New Year’s Eve celebration and were quite disappointed with the food. The vegetable dishes tasted noticeably sweet, almost like sugar was added instead of salt, which made the flavors very unbalanced. For a place with such strong reviews, the overall quality felt below average and not worth the price. We hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously, as customers choose based on ratings and expect consistency. We were looking forward to a great meal, but this experience definitely fell short.

Google
Our first time at this restaurant today..stumbled upon it while searching Indian/halal food in Orlando. Saffron had some of the best reviews so we decided to check it out. It was way beyond our expectations, the service, the taste of food, servings, atmosphere, everything was simply phenomenal!! Thank you so much to the young gentleman, our server, for his exceptional service, and the manager for helping us set up our wifi and offering to help us take our pictures! Thank you!! We will definitely be back on our next trip to Orlando, and recommend this amazing place to our family and friends.

Google
I would give 4.5 stars if google let me, I came here twice, and the food was excellent and very authentic. I ordered the Goat Biryani which was incredibly well done, the saag paneer - also awesome. Second time in, I ordered Tandoori chicken - which lacked some spice balance (not heat, I mean the tandoori mix, overpowered by lime), and I ordered the shrimp AK47, which tasted great, but the portion size was too small for the price. They are charging high prices, and they should be delivering 120%, not 90%. This place is holding back on its flavors and spices a little bit for the more 'general customer'. The chef back there is quite amazing and they need to be allowed to really shine. This restaurant would get a full 5 stars if it leaned into its roots more and made the experience more 'raw'. For example, serve chai in a clay cup, or at least a small glass cup, not in cups that the British use for their tea. Add some touches like the shahi mix mouth freshener at the end of the meal. Despite these minor critiques, the culinary talent here is clear. If the restaurant leaned further into its roots, it could easily deliver a truly exceptional and immersive experience. I look forward to returning on my next trip to Orlando.

Google
I had a good experience dining at this restaurant. The food was delicious and well-prepared, with a good variety to choose from. The portion sizes were generous, offering good value for the price. Speaking of value, the menu is reasonably priced, making it an excellent choice for a quality meal.

Yelp
I love love love this place. I come here every single time I come to Orlando. I always ask for their lamb vindaloo, samosas, and garlic naan, making sure their entree is really spicy. The food here is so good so I will be sad when I leave Orlando but it'll definitely be the first thing I think about the minute my plane lands in this city again. I've been coming here over the last 7-8 years and the food is still as good as the first time I was here.

Yelp
My girlfriends treated me to dinner at Saffron Indian Cuisine, and it was our first time. The restaurant was clean, nicely decorated, and had a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The servers were very polite and friendly gentlemen who made us feel welcomed We started with veggie samosas, which were perfectly seasoned and crispy outside. I enjoyed dipping them in the mint and tamarind (brown) sauces. The orange sauce on the samosa plate had a nice little kick, and everyone at the table loved it! I ordered chicken korma for main dish, one of my favorites. I really enjoyed the creamy curry sauce with nuts. One of my friends had lamb korma, and the lamb was soft and flavorful. Another friend ordered a different curry and asked for "medium spicy," it was vivir too spicy than she expected. She was sweating, but enjoyed it., So Indian "medium" can be quite spicy. So, if you're not used to spicy food, I'd recommend asking for mild--I always do after a few lessons learned. We didn't order dessert because we were all so full and ended up taking leftovers home. I had my leftover a few days, it was still good. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, and I'd definitely come back again!

Yelp
I would expect this place to be a lot more filled, due to how yummy the food is. It's been a favorite of my parents, so naturally it became a favorite of mine. Food comes out pretty fast. I will list what we got. We enjoyed it all, perfect variety of spices and flavors, as we all ordered different levels. Staff is extremely nice and helpful! Vegetable Samosas Rice Garlic Naan (soft and crispy) CURRIES: Chicken tikka masala Chicken xacutti Butter chicken Lamb Korma Saffron lamb

Yelp
KUDOS to the entire staff at Saffron Indian Cuisine for providing supreme quality customer service during the weekend buffet lunch! It was delicious and very healthy! there is a variety of food ranging from goat, butter chicken, chicken biryani, tandoori chicken, samosas and dal. The deserts are exquisite which including fresh watermelon, fruit custard, carrot pudding and Gulab jamun. With the buffet which $25.00 includes choice of naan and non-alcoholic drink with free refills. The ambiance is quiet and jamming with Bollywood music. I highly recommend all to come and visit to support this local restaurant.

Yelp
Tried their take out chicken tikka masala with naan - very delicious and hit the spot after a long day at Disney. Standard sized for Indian food (good portions) and flavors were solid.

Yelp
When I saw that Royal Southern Kitchen was closed my heart sank. Their website mentioned their several sister restaurants, of which Saffron was one that also had a weekend buffet. I realized I was going to be in the area the next Saturday, so I decided I'd give it a try. They did not disappoint! The buffet is $20 and comes with a drink and choice of freshly baked naan. Skip the soda. It's poured from carafes, so it's really flat. Choose something uncarbonated instead. The garlic naan was really good. It's thin, so some pieces were a bit burnt. Still delicious though. I don't think there was anything on the buffet that I didn't enjoy. The tandoori chicken was tender, juicy, and flavorful. The chicken biryani was mild, so it's great for someone who wants to try biryani without the usual spicy kick. If you want something spicy, make sure to get the fish curry. It's really good too. There were two desserts: fruit custard and rice kheer. The custard was decent, but the kheer was amazing. It was like a rice pudding. I would have gotten a second serving, but I'd already pushed my stomach to its max. If I'm over here on a weekend, I'm definitely coming back!

Yelp
Lamb curry, lentil soup and mango lasssi!! Incredible 5 stars all the way!! Incredible food and wait staff!! I will be back!

Yelp
One of my favorite Indian cuisine restaurants in the area. Came here for the Weekend Lunch Buffet, available only on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30AM to 3PM. This buffet is an absolute feast--a colorful, flavor-packed spread of curries, biryanis, tandoori specialties, and fresh vegetarian options that showcase the depth and richness of Indian cuisine. The buffet also comes with a drink and a side of nann bread. I love this option as it allows you to explore a variety of dishes that you normally may not try. The food was hot, well attended from staff Cohen continuously stirring, and refreshing. Flavor was spot on, I tried also new things that might become a new favorite. Service was prompt in removing your plate and immediately pouring water in your glass upon arrival. That a fine, value and definite stop if you're in the mood for Indian in the area.

Yelp
Hands down the best Indian cuisine in Orlando. Their food paired with a mango lassi to end your day is the perfect way to have lunch or dinner. Lunch portions are large, tasty and fresh made; more than worth the low amount that they have continually charged for it! Their Andra Lamb Curry is fantastic - tender, juicy and unbelievable flavor. The owners and staff alike provide phenomenal service and make sure you are never missing out. I HIGHLY recommend stopping by for lunch; to be honest, guarantee you find yourself back here for dinner at some point.

Yelp
I love me some Indian food and this place hit the spot!! I can on a Thursday evening and the putter area seemed pretty busy but this restaurant was nice and quiet inside. Walked in and right away grabbed a seat and placed my order. Food came out promptly, hot, and full of flavor. Would eat here again!

Yelp
I have to apologize in advance for the sin of not having pics - it would have looked crazy since I went with the buffet. Now, at first, $25 for the buffet caught me by surprise a little, but I remembered what inflation is like as well as the fact that I was in Dr. Phillips, and it made perfect sense. The buffet is the way to go, as it's $5 more than most of the entrees, and includes naan and a drink. I understand not being able to take food off the plates to go, but the naan? It's not like we asked for a second order, I just didn't want to waste the pieces from the single order. The food was good though...esp the goat biryani and the tandoori chicken. The butter chicken seems to have been in heavy demand (it was around 1 when we got there) and I had to hunt a bit for pieces. Overall, I wouldn't mind coming back if I'm in the area, just need to make sure I'm hungry enough to take advantage of the buffet.

Yelp
This is my go to Indian place in Orlando. I would highly suggest going for their brunch buffet, which is such a great deal and the food is outstanding. The service is nice, they are very attentive. The ambiance is nice as well, i do wish there was a bit more space between tables, it seemed like they fit as many tables as possible. Best to go when it's less busy

Yelp
Like seeing an old friend, the food here is just consistently good, service is always excellent. We come every 1-2 months and are never disappointed .
google avatar

Sri R.

Yelp
The food was amazing. They make North Indian food like paratha, Naan, kurma were all very tasty. Good ambience. Staff service was good.
google avatar

Philip Y.

Yelp
The goat curry was delicious except not spicy enough. I asked for Indian spicy (not medium) but was disappointed at the heat level. Goat in bone was amazing in texture and easy to detach from the bone. The rice and garlic naan were perfect combo to help me finish the whole bowl.
google avatar

Yelp
I went for lunch here with my family, we had heard raving reviews and it didn't disappoint! We all got lunch plates, and all the food was delicious and well portioned, definitely recommend Saffron for some good North Indian food!

Karen C.

Yelp
The wait staff was great, available, but not in your face and rushing you through your meal. The food was absolutely delicious! We had the Chicken Vindaloo and the Saffron Lamb Curry and the Garlic Naan. So yummy, we highly recommend!
google avatar

Rich T.

Yelp
First timer and I was very pleased! I tried the mahi mahi, the shrimp, the chicken tiki masala, and the lamb. Everything was delicious! I especially like the mint and cranberry sauces. Very friendly staff and a nice atmosphere.
google avatar

Gabrilla C.

Yelp
This place is so good, service and food is consistently amazing. We got garlic Nan, butter chicken and rice. The food was amazing, fresh and super tasty. I would totally recommend this place for a family or romantic dinner, it's really well decorated and very clean.
google avatar

Sophia L.

Yelp
The palak paneer and garlic naan bread were the best I've had! It had a unique flavor that burst in your mouth with every bite! I was so impressed! My hubby got the chicken tikka masala but honestly my plate was so much tastier, we ended up eating all of mine together. The mango lassi was delicious as well and tasteful. The service was on point and they kept filling up our waters and making sure we were okay. The restaurant is really cute with nice decorations and a perfect place for date night!
google avatar

Barbra M.

Yelp
We were happy to find this buffet, so we could introduce Indian food to our guests. It was nice for them to be able to try a variety of dishes. The matter paneer and butter chicken were big hits. The tandoori chicken was good, but hard to eat because it had tiny bones. It was nice that the buffet even came with a choice of a glass of champagne or a soft drink. The Nan was crispy - the way I like it.
google avatar

Kailey F.

Yelp
Service was quick and attentive. The inside was nice and clean with music playing in the background. The food was all delicious. We did the vegetable samosas, garlic naan, Chicken Korma, Butter Chicken, and Chicken Tikka Masala. All come with rice. Here you get to pick you spice level, so if you prefer less or more spice in every bite, it can be adjusted.
google avatar

Jennifer B.

Yelp
They need to update their website and times. Frustrating when driving from far away to find out they will not reopen till 5:00 pm. They close at 2:30 pm NOT 3:00pm
google avatar

Tiffani M.

Yelp
My first time trying this restaurant while I visited Florida and the food was quite tasty! The server was kind and attentive, he came by twice to ask if we were ready to order and made sure we always had water in our glasses. The food itself isn't the best Indian food I've had but it was very satisfying compared to all the American food I was eating at Disney. I was especially pleased with the paneer dishes because I usually go for chicken and lamb but my boyfriend's family is vegetarian and they didn't mind sharing; the paneer dishes were very yummy. That's another plus, all the dishes were portioned big enough to share with at least 1-2 people depending on your appetite. If I ever stay in this area again, I wouldn't mind returning to this restaurant.
google avatar

Michelle P.

Yelp
It had been a few years since we visited this place, which used to be our favorite. We went for the buffet lunch and honestly, were pretty disappointed. They keep the lids of the food up, so a lot of the food was cold. Many people were working but rarely came by to take our dirty plates. The food was just ok, not as good as it used to be by far and no where near as good as other newer places in central Florida. Maybe on a normal dinner or lunch would be better, but we don't plan to return.
google avatar

Sonia K.

Yelp
I've only gotten taken take-out from here for their awesome lunch deal, which includes a curry, naan, rice, daal, samosa, and a mango dessert, a couple of times. I always do so when I am in the area. The curries are well seasoned and taste authentic! They have a variety of them with different veg and non-veg options to choose from. Service is usually pretty quick and my items are always prepared and packed well when I come pick up. The restaurant itself looks nice but I have not eaten there in person yet.
google avatar

Rishi P.

Yelp
Went out for my moms birthday and it's her favorite spot. Service was solid for drinks and food delivery the whole way. Ambiance was great as they had comfortable chairs to sit back and not basic wooden ones. Also modern lighting. Food was delicious, gobi and wings were new things we tried and great to try, enough for 4 people. We wanted to do something different than butter chicken so we did the house special and it had good chunks for chicken We will definitely be back here

Mohan S.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. We have been faithful customers for years and it has been great persistently all this time !

Allison R.

Yelp
The food was very good and the staff were all very friendly I definitely recommend. The ambiance in the restaurant is nice as well.
google avatar

Hikari N.

Yelp
TLDR: big portions with big flavors for the money spent! All the servers are very welcoming and helped explain a lot of the dishes. For the money you spend you get A LOT of food, a whole naan, lots of rice, whatever you choose, soup AND dessert. You get to choose if you want plain or garlic naan and the spice level of your entree. This place is decorated very nicely and creates a nice sit down place to enjoy a meal with friend/coworkers or even family!
google avatar

Citizen D.

Yelp
Food is very fresh. My kiddo really enjoyed it. Jheera rice comes with any curry. Plenty of parking available. Close to universal.
google avatar

Kimberley K.

Yelp
As much as I would love to give this indian restaurant a 5 star review I can't because the flavor of the food just wasn't there. It was well presented, and low on the spice scale as requested, however... I was waiting for all the flavors to gel together but they just didn't. I believe this restaurant caters to more of a lunch crowd (all you can eat) in the Dr. Phillips area.
google avatar

Nalicia S.

Yelp
This spot is an absolute gem! It has some of the best Indian food I've had in a long time. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to our party of 10, especially for a walk in. The spot is pretty spacious and clean with a very upbeat vibe. The prices were decent and the portion sizes very fairly good. The food was all very delicious and well flavored. I had my usual, chicken tikka masala, and loved how full of flavor the dish was. The naan was soft and well made. We also tried a multitude of the other dishes including the Kadai Gosht, Tandoori Chicken, and Andhra Chicken Curry and ate the dishes family style. Everything was flavorful and delicious. I highly recommend this spot for tasty Indian food.
google avatar

Kaizamar F.

Yelp
Craving Indian food and stopped in. All the dishes we ordered were very flavorful. You could taste the different spices they use, which took our tastebuds for an adventure. I would advise you to take it easy on the spice and request a level down from what you are used to. I ordered the shrimp biryani, and the waiter let me know that it starts at a medium spice level. It was delicious and packed a punch in spice. The cucumber yogurt sauce they served with it was amazing and helped mute the spice a bit so I ordered more of that. The garlic naan was a must, the garlic tasted very fresh. The mango lassi beverage was also delicious tasted exactly like a fresh blended mango. The service was quick and professional. The attentiveness of the staff and etiquette was impressive. Angelo was kind and accommodating of our requests. The only thing that I would suggest are coasters. The condensation on the water cups was getting all over the table. The restaurant was nicely decorated. Parking was ample. There was a good variety on the menu. Recommend for families, dates, and friends. Looking forward to my next visit!

Yelp
Excellent experience! Went here over the weekend and enjoyed the food and the service! We got the papad, chili chicken, paneer mukani and butter chicken. All were great especially the chili chicken!
google avatar

Emily B.

Yelp
Best Indian food I've had! Everything was so flavorful and so fresh. The naan was soft and fluffy with just the right amount of crunch to it. The service was great. The manager observed that I was feeding my 10 month old from my plate and was kind enough to bring us steamed peas and potatoes, so thoughtful and kind of him! I will definitely be back whether it's to dine in or take out!
google avatar

Al W.

Yelp
Truly, the best Indian food that I have eaten in the United States. I had the opportunity to visit recently with two Indian friends who were blown away with the quality of every dish prepared!! I then discovered that a British friend living in Orlando considers this his favorite restaurant. I'm not gonna talk too much about the individual dishes because quite frankly, I think everything they make is probably going to be top notch. I will be driving over from Tampa with my wife so that she can experience saffron as well.

Wendy K.

Yelp
The food was great, the only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 was because I ordered my dish very spicy and it was not spicy at all. But it was still delicious!
google avatar

Missie T.

Yelp
Delicious Indian and delivery while staying at universal. I accidentally ordered chicken tikka instead of tikka masala but it was still quite good. Their green sauce for the naan was spicy. That was a first for me. This meal really hit the spot. The raita was quite runny compared to what I'm used to and didn't have as much cucumber etc. wish they had a veggie korma to try. The butter chicken was very good
google avatar

Andrea T.

Yelp
I've been on the hunt for a great Indian restaurant for the past 8 years. I'm so happy our friends found Saffron! This place is as other reviewers have mentioned an absolute gem! They kept our waters refilled, offered extra rice, and the hot towels at the end of the meal were such a wonderful touch. The food was perfectly spiced and seasoned. We ordered two curries, rice, three naans, two mango lassis a Diet Pepsi and it was plenty for two adults and two teenagers! The prices are also really fair too. We'll definitely be back. A terrific place to bring vegan and vegetarian friends as well.
google avatar

Adriana T.

Yelp
It was wonderful great Indian all you need to do is order one dish giant portions absolutely delicious

Hung H.

Yelp
they must have changed the chef since i was there last year. THE BEST TANDOORI" the food is so much better now!

Yelp
Indian cuisine is the best cuisine on the planet. That's my opinion. Now, I just have to explore all the best Indian places in Orlando and see what they have to offer me. I'm very rarely in this part of town, but I just happened to be around for something, so I was like, omg, let me Finally stop in and see what all the fuss is about. It's in one of those Sand Lake strip malls that has a bunch of 'fancy' restaurants, and the inside of this place did feel very swanky. Clean, minimal, slightly Bollywood. I felt very at peace and ready in inhale some delicious food. I started off with the Saffron Mix Platter (Assorted platter with samosa | veg tiki | onion bhajiya | vegetable pakora). I could have eaten pounds of all this stuff. An almost tempura-like vegetable item, Indian onion rings, and a potato ball. Very, very good stuff. And also, if you have never had a samosa before, (Pyramid shaped pastry stuffed | Potatoes | Green peas | Spices), you're missing out on an ethnic food item that is one of the best in the world, rivaling falafel and churros, in my opinion. So, on to the couple of entrees I ordered. First, the Chicken Korma (Chicken breast | Cashew paste | Rich creamy sauce). Tender, white meat chicken is the main protein here. The sauce it's served in is very mild, very creamy, and a little cashewy, which adds to the creaminess. Think almond milk vs cashew milk. It's a little of that comparative creaminess. This was served with a side bowl of basmati rice. Oh so good. Thennn, the main event, the Goat Biryani (Goat | Saffron rice | Aromatic spices). My favorite meal of all time. It's basically a saffron-heavy fried rice with bone-in goat that falls off that bone because of how soft it is. Crazy pungent Indian spices and super crispy onion straws on top. You must try biryani. If you're not sure about the goat, get chicken, get shrimp. Whatever it takes. I realize that this seems like a long ad for Indian food, instead of a review for a restaurant. I know. I'm sorry. I'm just so passionate about all of this. I showed up at Saffron wanting a five star meal, and I got a five star meal.

Yelp
I traveled over an hour to eat here! Actually, I came out this way to pick up a friend at the airport and decided to come early for a nice Indian dinner. I live in The Villages where the food is bland at best and there are no Indian restaurants. Since the reviews were so great I admit that I had high expectations. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala ($22), a side of Onion Kulcha ($5), a cup of Masala Tea ($5) and Gulab Jamoon ($6) for dessert. Although I asked for mild chicken, I found it a tad too spicy for my taste. For the price, I expected larger portions with some side chutneys which I did receive once I asked. I felt that a small cup of Daal would have been really nice. There was plenty of sauce but not enough chicken or rice. Apparently, combos are only available during lunch and the buffet is only offered on weekends. Overall the service was good, the atmosphere was nice and the chicken was very tender and flavorful. The hot hand towel at the end was a nice touch!

Mina B.

Yelp
They have really the worst customer service. I don't any one to go there. I hope the owner takes a look to the review and hire better people before losing the business.
google avatar

Tammy F.

Yelp
The food was great and the smells made your mouth water. The spices were just right and the naan was perfect.
google avatar

Santina R.

Yelp
Gulab Jamun which is my favorite Indian dessert was priceless, so delicious, I really enjoyed it after my meal. If you really want to enhance the flavor of your Gulab Jamun, squeeze some lemon on it! My boyfriend got chicken tikka masala and I got shrimp tikka masala, both very very good. Garlic naan was exceptional and tasty. Their papadum which is a thin cracker was very good as well, and it came with three sides, my favorite of the three was the mango chutney. It was so good we forgot to get a picture but the papadum makes for a great appetizer. Service is quick and ambiance is romantic, very intimate and warm. Love this place! You should check them out.

Doreen C.

Yelp
The food was as I said before the best Indian food I've ever had. I wish they were in the Ft. Lauderdale area. The service was spot on and the atmosphere was lovely. I left my glass case there with my clip-on sunglasses, our waiter Ram was kind enough to FedEx them to me beyond what anybody needs to do. I'm so appreciative of him sending my glasses back as they are made special for my frames and would've cost me a fortune to replace, so I highly recommend this restaurant there is nothing bad I can say it's just really a wonderful place to eat. With amazing staff.

Rebecca H.

Yelp
Good menu options. Ambience and service were also top notch. Would recommend mixed grill and garlic naan!
