"Sage Vegan Bistro, Culver City. Sage is an organic, plant based eatery with a few locations in the LA area. The founder was raised vegan on an NY farm, so the creation came from her love of gardening, food, and cooking. We never bother sitting inside, unless we have to, the patio is pretty large and accommodating. We recommend trying the brunch menu; the tempeh sausage Florentine is the best. If you’re not in the mood for a real meal, you can always stop in to grab one of their 25 beers on tap or a scoop of KindKreme, which is their smallbatch dairy free ice cream."

Sage Plant Based Bistro Review - Culver City - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Generally speaking, we prefer to order our chicken without quotation marks around it, but in the case of Sage Vegan, we make the exception. Because time and time again, Sage has proven to be some of the best meatless food in the city with a cool space you don’t feel ashamed to be in. Hot tip: their take-out operation is excellent, if you’re running late to your Bachelor viewing party." - Brant Cox

Soy Good Review - Garden Grove - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Shojin has two locations in my favorite parts of Los Angeles, Culver City and Little Tokyo in Downtown Los Angeles. Tsuguhiro Morishima is Japanese and the owner of the vegan, gluten-free, macrobiotic restaurant. The menu is most well known for their inventive sushi rolls, tempura, spicy tuna on crispy rice, stuffed shiitake mushrooms, and more. Crystal orders their spicy baked scallop roll and Shojin dynamite roll, which I would have to counter with the pirates of the crunchy roll mainly because I’m a sucker for crispy crunchy tempura flakes. While we’re on the topic of tempura, I would also order the banana and chocolate mousse cake to finish off the meal." - Esther Cho & With Warm Welcome

Actually not a location with seating. There is a screen with options to order from 25 different restaurants. The food gets prepared in the back, and then it will be handed out or out in lockers one can access via a bar code. The gluten-free pizza with cauliflower was good, the fresh orange juice looked like lemonade but was tasty as well.

first of all, i’d like to mention that i came here for two meals in a row-! it was that good. sage definitely makes the list of my favorite restaurants of all time. the service was good, the atmosphere in the restaurant is wonderful, and the food is delicious! everything i had from here was phenomenal and tasted fresh. i really enjoyed the banh mi sandwich; additionally, i’d recommend any of the pizzas here. both the gluten free crust and the regular crust are well-made. i didn’t feel like i was missing anything when i ordered the gluten free one. the cauliflower wings here are definitely worth a try as well, they aren’t overly battered but still have a good crunch, texture, and flavor. finally, i really loved the ice cream (kind kreme) here at sage! i’ve been through my share of disappointing vegan ice cream, and although i will say it melts fast, the taste is spot on. the strawberry was my favorite. overall, this has definitely become one of my favorites, and i’m really glad i was in the area to try it out. definitely recommend!

Cute spot with a lot of options. I got the sweet potato pancakes and they were good. My friend said that her “crab cakes” were delicious. The one thing that wasn’t great was that our server forgot part of our order. I assume it’s because they thought that remembering our order without writing it down looks impressive but it was frustrating more than anything. Lastly, we tried the cinnamon roll and it was extremely dry and not fresh at all so I would skip the baked goods.

I'm not normally a vegan person, but my friends are so I went with them to Sage for lunch. I was honestly pretty impressed with the flavors and the interesting options they had on the menu! Also, the food presentation was great! I also really enjoyed the way their outdoor patio space is set up. Very cozy and aesthetically pleasing!

Well I could endlessly talk to you about Sage. First of all, of the mid-priced vegan and vegan-friendly restaurants in the LA area, this was undoubtedly my favourite. The food is just incredible and the menu is huge. You can go raw, fast food, and anything in between. I came back three times in two weeks and tried as much as possible. My absolute favourite were the raw tacos with walnut cranberry meat. But don’t miss out on the cauliflower hotwings either. The ceviche could have been better. Now the atmosphere is absolutely great. Their patio is gorgeous, a little vegan paradise. The ambiance is casual, dress any way you like. The staff is absolutely lovely. One downside, their bottomless mimosas are made with cider instead of champagne, in fact, they do not serve champagne at all. Sage is completely vegan. Any vegan knows the joy of not having to think about anything when ordering. But don’t hesitate to take your non-vegan friends. They will be happily surprised. Pros: completely vegan, gorgeous patio, huge menu Cons: no champagne

I am not a vegan by any stretch of the imagination, but I wanted to push myself out of what I’m used to and give it a try and I got that and then some. This food was really really good. I got the festival burrito and sautéed veggies (spinach and kale). Loved the touch they added to the veggies, it was a lemon essence and it gave them such a pungent flavor that I enjoyed. Everyone here was so welcoming and friendly and super attentive. The best experience of all was over server, Alejandro. He truly made our experience worthwhile. When I travel to LA again, I’m definitely coming back.

I've been here at least 3 or 4 times on dates or with friends. The ingredients are premium quality, flavors outstanding, presentation is okay, atmosphere used to have more plants in the patio pre-pandemic, customer service is fine and the prices are a bit high. Seriously LOVE that they have an immunity shot and range of delicious non-alcoholic drinks (drinks I actually want to order), but the Sinus Blaster was $6 for a half full shot glass (2oz is usual for immunity shots, but usually cost $4 or less in the grocery stores). The Strawberry Pina Colada tasted like a regular Strawberry Smoothie, didn't notice a Pina Colada taste. My friend really likes the vegan donuts, but our other friend wasn't a fan. I found the dough kinda dense, but not super sweet, the icing was best on the blueberry. Wasn't fond of the chocolate icing. The hot chocolate used premium ingredients, but tastes rather thin for me (I'd say make this an after treat at ChocoVivo and order a hot chocolate exactly how you like it). It was good, but I'm very particular. It's not as rich as the Amara Cafe (?) hot chocolate or the place in South Pasadena, but those use dairy unless you request another option. The Artichoke and Eggplant pizza was interesting, great taste, but I felt like it needed something crunchy to break up the smooth textures. My friend loved it! The Brazilian bowl had a great combination of flavors, nice texture. Portion sizes were definitely sharable if ordering a few things depending on how hungry you are (I love small bites of several options). And finally, the nachos were crunchy with great toppings, but I do love cheese, so being vegan, it was hard to fully enjoy these. Plus, I adore every bite fully loaded and well balanced. It took a bit of work to ensure every bite was covered the way I like, but that's just picky and my personal thing...it comes how most are. Piled up. Definitely a shareable size for the 3 of us last night. I didn't try it, but my friend said her matcha wasn't very sweet, so you may want to ask for agave, honey or sugar (your options). For the nomads: There is a restroom, but it's been years since I used it so don't remember anything special about it. I don't believe there are any usable outlets to plug in and work/charge up. Overall this is a fantastic place for a vegan date and you can probably still enjoy it even if not vegan. They have juices, bakery items, an alcohol menu (I don't check that, so ask someone else haha), nice selection of sandwiches, pizzas, appetizers, sides, etc. One of my FAVORITES (that we didn't order last might sadly) is the Buffalo Califlower!

Really cute place to sit and have dinner with your family and friends. We were out-of-towners looking to try out the local plant-based cuisine and this place did not disappoint. From starters, we had the avocado dip with chips, which tasted really fresh and was not hot so my baby son was able to give it a try. He loved it! My partner had an entire "Mac and cheese" vegan pizza, which she loved as I had the banh mi tacos with tofu for our main course. See pics! The food was yummy with no complaints. We were so full that we didn't get a chance to get dessert. If you're on a plant-based diet and or have dairy allergies like we do in our family, this is an awesome spot to try out! 😀
