I was driving through Sacramento and wanted to grab dinner in the downtown/midtown area, and Saigon Alley came up as a good option.
My friend and I stopped by on a Wednesday evening around 6:30 pm, and it wasn't too crowded. They have a bar + lounge area downstairs which was hopping, and a proper restaurant seating area upstairs. We opted to sit upstairs as we were here for a proper dinner.
You can scan the QR code for the menu, but it just takes you to their website.
The nice thing about the food here is that it's all small plates and can be shared. They have a good selection of appetizers, meats, and carbs, so it's easy to mix and match. There's also a special section for vegetarians.
We skipped drinks (they had some cocktails that looked really good) and ordered:
Salmon carpaccio ($14)
Charbroiled chicken ($14)
Charbroiled pork chop ($14)
Garlic noodles ($13.50)
Other than the salmon carpaccio, which was just okay, everything else was bomb. The charbroiled chicken and pork chop both had incredible flavor and went well with the garlic noodles, which were super buttery and garlicky. Honestly, this was one of the best Vietnamese meals I've had in a long time, and it was completely unexpected.
Portions were also pretty large for the price, and we had trouble finishing. I ended up taking the leftover pork chops and noodles to go and had the leftovers the next day.
Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good Vietnamese meal with nice ambience in midtown Sacramento!
