The baguette here is a must. Chicken pie was great, too. Banh mi sandwiches are good but I’ve had better sandwiches. Still good though. For the price it’s a great value.

No frills, just great banh mi. The bread’s perfectly crispy, the chicken banh mi is packed with flavor, and the pickled veggies give it that perfect crunch. Prices are solid, portions are filling, and you’re in and out fast. Just had the best time at this place! Got a refreshing melon drink and a killer dessert. The service was super fast and super sweet too. Definitely coming back for more of this awesome experience. Can't wait to try something new next time

If you ever had a Lee's sandwich, you have to come and try Saigon!! These sandwich are so yummy. I had the chicken baguette bread with veggies. The bread makes the sandwich and the seasoning in the meat!! Wow!! It is a culture crash you will be the only foreigner in your own country. But the people and service is wonderful. Also this place is always busy and make to sure to take a plain baguette with you there always warm and fresh!! God bless

The food is decent, but the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I understand being busy, but the attendant was surprisingly dismissive. No 'hello,' no eye contact, and when I tried to be polite and say thank you, she completely ignored me. There are too many other banh mi spots in the area with similar food and much friendlier staff to put up with that kind of attitude.

My new favorite bahn mí place. It helps when you bake your bread on site, I guess. Crispy pork is great, croissant is superb. I like their black French coffee, it's like a defibrillator on ice.

My review is strictly based on their eggrolls 🤤 I drive from Long Beach to San Gabriel a few times a month just for the eggrolls. I order about 2 -3 dozen each time. They are delicious! I wish I found a place closer to get that same flavor but nothing comes close. Eggrolls 10/10

Amazing banh mi sandwiches at a cheap and affordable price point. The bread was so soft on the inside with a nice crunch on the outside. Sandwiches came out pretty fast and nice service. Food The grilled pork banh mi was so good. The thing that really made it was the perfectly toasted bread with a soft inside so that I could enjoy all the flavors of the sauce, meat, and vegetables. The vegetables were super fresh and there was plenty of it. I also got an iced Vietnamese coffee and that was also a great way to start off my Saturday morning! A nice strong and sweet, but not overly sweet, drink with a ton of ice for a hot day. Looks like they make it in batches and add the ice as you order it. Atmosphere A quick stop and go spot where you order at the counter and then go. Casual and clean. You can see all the bread that they're baking freshly! Pricing Cheap banh mi sandwiches and you can choose to either get a longer, skinnier bread or a rounder, shorter bread for the same price! Only $6 as of July 2022. Compared to Seattle prices that I'm used to (it is like $10+ for not as great banh mi), this place is a great deal. Service Friendly staff and double checked to make sure was order was just right. Food came out pretty quick. Other There is a large parking lot next to it that you can easily park at.

I absolutely love Saigon backers bakery I mean it's so small but family owned knows how to make a best and always fresh sandwiches I love my tikku tikku (spicy extra spicy) bahn mi they go above and beyond for everyone it's amazing I would let the whole world to come

This is a very busy store with tons of foot traffic! I went to Saigon Bakery because I needed something to take to an Easter party. Saigon to the rescue! I placed a relatively large order for vegetarian egg rolls and while it took about 20 minutes I was pleased to see the egg rolls were being made fresh. Prices per each egg roll were not cheap but they were on the larger size. The filling was ample and my friends were all very happy to have egg rolls as finger food. To me the taste was spot on but they were not fried as crispy as I'd like it. They were also a bit greasy but that was somewhat expected. Overall the egg rolls went quickly and everyone seemed to enjoy them. Would I return? Probably yes but I'd definitely try to place the order in advance to see if it makes a difference. The best part, they have their own parking lot. It can fill up quickly but it empties quickly because everyone is taking food to go. I ordered 40 egg rolls on a Friday to go from here and they were okay with it. I thought it would be pretty last minute since I ordered around noon and needed pick up to be at 5:30 ish and they were accommodating. The egg rolls were huge and well worth the price. I want to say it was less than $60 for the 40. The place itself is small, but it was what you'd expect from a sandwich spot. Parking is ok too since I parked at the plaza right next door. They do have their own lot but it's small and I feel like the plaza is more spacey if you want that sort of thing. It is on Valley so getting out might be a pain.

Quadruple Wow! This is one of the best Banh Mi's Ive had in a long time. The flavor is there in every bite. They have really good shrimp spring rolls and their egg rolls are out of this world. I would visit again. The price is a little higher than other Banh Mi places I have been to.

My friend told me about this place and it's SUCH a hidden gem!! Go for their Saigon Special, it's literally $7.50 and so filling!! Service was straightforward and there isn't a lot of seating inside, but a huge banh mi for 7.50 is such a STEAL! Considering boba and drinks cost $8+ now. Great to buy for your kid for lunch or if your hungry and want a quick cheap eat

The Bánh Mì Xíu Mại here is delicious! The way they make it here resembles a meatloaf slice on bread (with a Vietnamese twist) and just the right amount of tomato-y sauce. Their bread (chubby roll, baguettes, croissants) which are freshly baked in-house are great! My second favorite sandwich is the Bánh mì Saigon (Vietnamese bologna and BBQ char-siu, with pate and veggies; no headcheese). I love the copious amount of cilantro and how they cut the veggies. If you ask for extra fixings, they are happy to customize your sandwich! Also, The egg rolls here are a favorite for my kids; Nathan, go sit down and devoured at work potlucks. Eggrolls here are a must try. Pork or Chicken version are both good. Service is so much better now with the younger generation and they finally take credit cards in addition to cash. Private parking is in the side of the bakery.

I love and have tried many places for vietnamese sandwiches, and this is my favorite one. Their bread is soft on the inside, crispy on the outside, and the meats and veggies hit just right with spice and pickled flavors. Also love those little crispy meat pies and their coffee is stellar.

Little Vietnamese bakery that is near a large market so parking was very easy. I ordered #15 Saigon Special and the bread was so tasty! $7 (after tax) for a very long sandwich is a steal. Heads up, a min of $15 in order to use credit card so cash is best. Good option if you don't like spicy - it tastes like jalapeños have been soaked to minimize spicy burn. Will be back if I'm in the area!

Their "round" bread is the tastier than Hoa Phat and My Tho. Their grilled pork (thit nuong) sammy has a flavor profile akin to chinese sausage (lap xuong) and moist jerky. Their special or combo (dac biet) sammy was packed w/ meat, mayo/butter, and pate. Their crispy pork (heo quay) sammy was average. All the sammies were under-seasoned, imho. Their pork eggrolls were not remarkable. There are circles on the floor to denote the queue and if you're waiting for your food just sit in one of the chairs against the wall. Friendly staff who also spoke English, quick service, blink-and-you'll-miss-it driveway, takes credit card if over $15, and each sammy is ~$7.

Service was fast and friendly. Order was made on order and came out quickly. I ordered dac biet and cha lua; however, I was disappointed on how less fillings came with banh mi dac biet. As you can see on photos, literally a thin layer of filling compare to bread ratio. The cha lua had more fillings though. Bread was perfectly baked and complimented the fillings very well. Overall, wish they can balance out the bread and filling ratio.

If you love Banh Mi sandwiches, YOU NEED THIS IN YOUR LIFE! This is the most authentic southern Vietnamese sandwich spot you will find. They bake their own bread, they are friendly, and the sandwiches are out of this world. Saigon bakery truly captures the authentic ingredients, texture, and taste of excellent Vietnamese Banh Mi!

Great banh mi spot in the SGV for ~$7 a baguette! I love banh mi and my first time trying this spot did not disappoint. My friend recommended to get the crispy pork belly, though my usual go to dac biet, however I wanted to switch things up a bit They're super fast, got our order less than 5 mins after ordering and it's more of a takeout spot. Since we got crispy pork belly, I couldn't resist trying a bite on the trunk of my car. Be prepared for the crunch of your life and your hard palate as the crispy pork belly is indeed crispy paired with the nice crunch of the baguette. Very flavorful and the pork was not dry. Can't wait to come back and try the dac biet!

Saigon Bakery and Sandwiches is located on Valley Blvd with street parking and a small low. Saigon Bakery and Sandwiches is across from Popeyes and right across from the San Gabriel Superstore. My husband and I made a stop here on a Saturday afternoon, around 3 pm. There was only one person ahead of us at the register. We ended up purchasing: #13 Crispy Pork Banh Mi, $8 prior to tax- My husband ordered 2 of these, one for him and one for my mother. This sandwich is not part of the buy 2, get 1 free promotion. I didn't have any but the size of the sandwich is plenty for 1 person to feel full for lunch. Both my mom and my husband enjoyed their sandwiches. Shrimp Spring Rolls, $6.85 prior to tax- Came in a pack of 3. I picked up one of these, that was right by the register. I thought it was good. I'd probably pick up another if I was here again. ------------------------------- (Total= $25.19 after tax) Service was quick and generally had no problems making our order. Since my mom and my husband enjoyed their sandwiches, we will most likely come back (and maybe I'll try a bahn mi next time).

Saigon Bakery has the best egg rolls in the San Gabriel valley hands down. They have their own parking lot conveniently next door but you could also park in the San Gabriel Superstore. I got 50 egg rolls for about $68. I called them on Black Friday about 2 hours in advance and they were able to accommodate!

First time here, got #16 grilled pork banh mi sandwich. It was fabulous! So many delicious flavors, meat, tangy spicy sauce, marinated carrots and cucumber and the Cilantro took it to another level of taste. I ate it while driving home. Planned to take some test bites in car, but ended up eating the whole thing!Very satisfied! Will be back for more.

Last week, I came here to buy some shrimp spring rolls and it was $7.99 for 2 pieces. So expensive compared to the ones I get at the supermarket in El Monte, the food stall booth inside of the supermarket, it was only &4.50 for 2 pieces. Here is almost 8 bucks. I was really hungry and just wanted some light to eat. So I was eating it in my car and usually is just wrapped in a saran wrap and Styrofoam plate. But this time, I didn't know the spring rolls were also individually wrapped too. So is double wrap. The first bite, I thought the rice paper was kinda of tough like chewy, it took a few seconds to pull it apart. After chewing it, I was looking at the spring rolls while chewing, I see a shiny reflection from the rolls, omg !?! I'm eating the plastic wrap too, luckily I didn't swallow it too quickly and pulled it out of my mouth. Then carefully examined the rolls, each individual piece was wrapped in plastic. So be careful eating those if you get them here. This is the first time I ever seen each individual piece wrapped in plastic, I had them rolls at other ready food places and this never happens before. So be careful not to eat the plastic wrap too like I did. Maybe I should just stick with the chicken meat pies/dessert instead.

I ordered the Saigon Special banh mi, shrimp/pork springrolls, and one baguette. This sandwich was amazing! I have been eating Banh Mi in San Jose recently. And Duc Huoung in that area has the best sandwich I have ever had. This place is a very close second. I have lived in OC most of my life and Vietnamese food is a main staple for me. This place rivals THH, Lee's all of them. The bread is light and crispy, veggies bright and fresh, the spread added just the right amount of saltiness to complement the assorted meats. I will be back for sure to try all the other menu items. Dac Biet is always what I try first to measure against any other spot. If only they had the garlic butter spread on top like they do in San Jose Banh Mi, that would elevate this spot. The spring rolls were great, and the longer baguette I brought home was fresh and paired well with the fried egg and pate I put in it. Service was friendly, efficient, the inside is small, but clean. So glad I found this place!

I was in the area and wanted to grab something that would be quick and easy to eat, so I found Saigon Bakery and Sandwiches on Yelp. The bakery's adjacent to a shopping plaza with a big parking lot, so I parked my car there and walked over. The bakery's on the smaller side and there's no seating, but there was a line out-the-door when I visited at 1pm on a Sunday. The staff work quickly, but keep in mind that there may be some items that require more cook or prep time such as the bánh mì heo quay. I got the bánh mì heo quay, which was loaded with pork. I wished the pork was more crispy, but it was still good and hot as it was made-to-order. The baguette was crisp and not too dense, and had a thin layer of spread. The veggies were typical, but fresh and light. I thought there was a good ratio of baguette to pork, but I also wished there was a bit more veggies because it was pork-heavy sandwich. Also, when I paid for my order, I asked for veggies on the side (so I can add to the sandwich later) and the staff member said they could do that. However, they put veggies inside the sandwich in the end and I didn't realize it until I was far away from the shop. It could've been a mistake, especially with the lunch rush, but it was a little annoying that it happened. They do have a sign at the register, reminding customers to check their order when they receive it before leaving the shop, so that was my oversight. But you'd assume that after asking the staff earlier, it'd be ok, right? Overall, my 1st experience at Saigon Bakery and Sandwiches was good, despite the veggies not being separated. It's hard to mess up bánh mì, so I may return in the future, but know there are other options in the surrounding area.

I truly love the egg rolls! I drove all the way from Chinatown to San Gabriel in LA traffic to get my hands on these bad boys. My sis in law brought them a couple of times to family gatherings. I had to cut out the middle man and buy direct because I can't wait around when I get the craving. I highly recommend this place. I also had some Vietnamese coffee and almost died. I survived to write this review. Ambiance is straight business.

This is actually one of my favorite banh mi places when I am not thinking about budget but thinking of quality. These sandwiches run a bit higher than I remember but I can't recall the exact price. If you want budget, go to Banh Mi Che Cali. If you want quality, come here. Probably the best thing about this place is that they add in a lot of pate. The only weird thing I'm not too used to is that they add cucumber slices. I asked my friend and he said that's pretty typical for a banh mi so I suppose it's not TOO weird. Regardless, I love their banh mi here and their coffee ($4.25) is pretty great too! Parking is easy and plentiful because it's right next to a plaza. I would 10/10 come back here not only because it is next to my house but it's pretty good!

I visited a little Vietnamese bakery near a large market with easy parking and ordered the grilleed pork sandwich usually, delicious bread and generous portions. They now offer a crispy pork banh mi, and my third favorite is the Bánh mì Saigon with Vietnamese bologna, BBQ char-siu, pate, and veggies, loaded with cilantro and perfectly cut veggies. They're happy to customize if you ask for extra fixings! The egg rolls are also a must-try and their pate sol as well, and they're always a hit at work any time of the week. If you're sensitive to spice, the jalapeños, it's more mild and flavorful to other places. I'll definitely be back!

Love this place! The sandwiches are always made fresh and the flavors are always great. The bakery is also wonderful as you can get fresh, soft bread. My family and I have been coming here for years. It does get a bit busy but definitely worth it.

Was in the area,visiting a friend and we craving a banh mi. There is free parking, which is a plus and sandwiches are decently priced, but the sandwich were a little bit of a let down. There is roasted pork in the #1 combo, but no head cheese or ham like I am use to in the Bay Area. Also there seems to be little Pate and mayo. Granted all the fillings are there the pickled carrots but no radish, cucumbers are sliced instead spears and it has the cilantro and jalapenos. The bread is good, but I feel that it would be a little more stuffed (also no head cheese is just disappointing) for the almost $7. The spring rolls were tasty but I didn't taste any herbs in it. The fried rolls were crispy but needed more fish sauce or salt. With places like Cam Huong in Oakland and Bánh Mì Ba Le in El Cerrito for less, that also has broken rice plates or Bánh Cuốn, I would want more from saigon bakery.

Staff who took my order is very nice and friendly, not rude at all. Their chicken puff pastry is delicious... Warm flaky crust with ground chicken inside.

Woke up early and decided to visit Saigon Bakery and Sandwiches. Haven't had Banh Mi in a very long time. The pricing was super affordable at $7.00 for the Banh Mi. Upon entering, the eatery was inviting and had customers already waiting for their Banh Mi. I ordered the following: 1. Meat Egg Roll 3/5: decent, crispy, oily 2. Chicken Pie 3/5: a nice bite to it 3. Saigon Special Banh Mi 4/5: fresh, the bread has a nice crunch to it 4. Beef Banh Mi 4/5 They sell an assorted array of Vietnamese goodies as well.

The small sandwich shop is located in the corner spot, good for takeout and quick bites. Although limited categories for food, their service is fairly very fast. I like their rice cracker with pork meat floss and spicy flakes, very crunchy and tasty.

Customer service here is less than awful. I came in to inquire about party trays and the lady helping me kept saying huh and was super dismissive. She wasn't going to try to problem solve (ex: get someone to help translate maybe) and just kept staring. I even tried to ask my question via Google Translate and she still was having any of it. Absolute worst feeling leaving the place. Don't come here if you have any questions and can't speak Vietnamese.

Beyat sandwiches in town. This is my go-to for baguette sandwich lunches. I have ordered dozens at a time for catering at other times. I drive at least 25 minutes to come here. Tried other ones in SGV area and on the whole, their sandwiches stand out the best! Saigon, if you are reading this, I have a request that you bake your baguettes the blonde and not brown color instead. It tastes better being less bitter and lotta peeps actually heat their sandwiches later so you would need to bake your bread only to the blonde color. Thanks for reading.

Don't let the outside or how small it is fool you! This place is amazing!!!! The grilled pork bahn mi is simply perfect! It is a large sandwich. The bread is fresh, chewy, and delicious. The produce is fresh and the flavor of the pork is so YUM! I would drive from Rowland Heights to San Gabriel often just to get a bahn mi here. The egg rolls shouldn't be passed up either!! Get yourself a baguette for only $2!

I've been coming here for 15 years and the food still hits. Bread is fresh, egg rolls have just the right amount of pepper. Whenever I come back to the neighborhood, I make a point of coming by and getting a #16 BBQ Pork and egg rolls. Can never go wrong.

My go-to banh mi spot. Always willing to make the 17 min drive from Pasadena bc of price point and portions. No seating avail, take out only. I like to order #16 (grilled pork) and an egg roll to eat on the way home just to wet my appetite haha. Protip - Call in your order so it's ready by the time you get there. Usually open holidays. The phone will ring a billion times but I promise they eventually answer :P

Would give this place 4 stars, but I've been coming here for years. This place is reliable, consistent, always available in my times of need. Is it the best banh mi store in town? Probably not. That being said, I don't like long waits or long lines, and this place has neither. Love the quality & quantity portions. Have a family event or holiday party & need to make a large order, I come here. Have a snowboarding trip & need to fuel up at the crack of dawn, I come here. Just a reminder to y'all that this place opens at 5am daily and is open on federal holidays too :) Prices have basically doubled over the last few years, but it is what it is. One thing that I can't accept though is the price of the premade iced coffee they charge!! It's basically 25% coffee and 75% ice. Good taste & refreshing sip, but heinous ice-to-coffee ratio..

I wanted to pick up some lunch and Vietnamese goods to bring back home for my family and had about 2 hours left before I head to the airport. This place popped up nearby Saigon Bakery and Sandwiches withoverall 4 star rating so I decided upon this place. The other half took me and nope, it didn't work out. The lady behind the cash register, I assume she is the owner got irritated after asking her how much a few of the items cost. I would like to know since I will be buying a buch of stuff. I could tell she was mad so yep. I left, didn't work out. Asked my hubby kindly if he could take me to another shop. I am glad he was understanding. Here are the prices of what I asked so far, before leaving . Cha Lua steamed pork rolls, $8.50 for both fried and steamed Mochi rice rolls -$5.50 Jung ( mochi rice with pork) $4.00 Prices, I assume subject to change. If the owner is irritated, Please add the prices next time. You lost out on the day's sales as I had plans to purchase a ton of stuff. Your loss!

Stopped by get some breakfast, lunch, or dinner. They got Bahn mi, desserts, and vietnamese coffee. Good ones too. The price is reasonable, and food was ready a lil faster than expected. The check out process was easy. The coffee was strong but I wish it didn't have all the ice. I just craved for another shot. The flan was a bit on the sweet side but it was still scrumptious. Overall, it gets a 4.3 out of 5. Will stop by again!

Their crispy pork is a soggy, wet lie. Sorry to say, I've had heo quay in Vietnam and this is just the cheapest part of the pig not the crispy pork belly it should be. The lady even pointed at the crispy pork picture to which I said yes. Disappointment :(

Absolutely delicious! A solid banh mi sandwich! The house special had fresh veggies, crispy bread, and perfectly sliced deli meats. This place was bright, clean, and stocked full of foods. There's also a parking lot on the side.

Egg rolls are $1.25 as of 9/29/24. Typical take out food store and quick. Call ahead if you have big order.

I used to come here to get banh mi sandwiches often and occasionally will pick up an egg roll or banh bo nuong. Today I bought one of the pandan leaf cakes and not only did they raise the price to $5 now, but it had moldy spots and slimy. It was also stale and dry. Difficult to check as it's wrapped in plastic. Typically these are fresh but it's unfortunate that they decide to push the sell by date on these baked goods and not check the quality. It seemed they also skimped on the filling in the banh mi. Business is tough these days but the quality has gone downhill. Will likely not return in the future due to this experience.

2.9/5 Depending on where you go, some people may say banh mi tastes like cardboard... Got the banh mi sandwich (special) and shrimp/pork spring rolls. To be fair, I ate it the next day so wasn't the freshest... but my review is based on that. Overall a plus for the huge portion of banh mi (see photo for reference). But it's a typical banh mi, nothing special... I've had better elsewhere. Spring rolls were decent - nothing special as well. Interior is small, no seating - all to go. Haven't found a great local banh mi place yet... this is probably comparable to Lee's Sandwiches... they're all just "hmp"... Might have tasted better fresh but... hmp.

I was really craving nem chua and upon searching Yelp, this was one of the top places that popped up so I decided to come get some to satisfy my cravings. I also picked up a plain baguette and Che Thai in order to meet the $15 credit card minimum. The nem chua was yummy but had a bit too much jalapeños in certain pieces. The baguette was really fresh and soft and Che Thai was sweet.

They are in their own parking lot from the supermarket. Their parking lot generally has spots I always like their sandwiches. They are of good price and have good amount of fillings. Now that they don't have buy 2 get 1 free, I get the long baguettes.

I'm a regular customer, usually opting for the Grilled Pork Banh Mi and Shrimp Spring Rolls. The Grilled Pork Banh Mi is a substantial sandwich, with tender, well-seasoned pork and crisp, fresh veggies inside a great baguette. It's a filling and satisfying choice. Their Shrimp Spring Rolls are fresh and come with a flavorful peanut dipping sauce, making them a nice complement to the banh mi. What stands out at Saigon Bakery is the value. You get a lot for your money, and the flavors are on point.

Definitely one of the best Banh mi shops I've been to. I've been coming here for a while. Not sure why I haven't wrote a review. This place is perfect. Price, size, quality, service. This place is always packed around lunch time. Go figure! I just stick to the bbq pork or the classic cold cuts. An egg roll for the trip home too lol I just noticed they have that Drink with the coconut milk and jelly. Thai che I think. Going to have to try that next time. This place slaps. Definitely top 5 Banh mi shops. Keep up the good work. Oh, and plenty of grab and go trays at your convenience.

They lied to customers about the menu. #4 grilled beef sandwich does not have grilled beef. The sandwich came with a week old meatloaf. Had I known that the sandwich is made with low quality old meatloaf, I would not have ordered #4 grilled beef.

I been going here for a long time and always think it was good quality food until today's visit. I came to buy my cha Lua as usual for my kids they like it from here. It used to be $9 each it was little high compared to other places but it was fine with me. Until recently I bought it yesterday and again today. Noticed the up the price a little and also made it smaller than I remembered. I get it things cost more but increasing price and making it smaller size also is making me rethink going here again.
