Where to Eat at Northeastern University | Eater Boston

"Only a short walk from campus, this family-run Vietnamese restaurant is something of a hidden gem. The menu is streamlined, allowing patrons to choose between spring rolls, pho, banh mi and rice plates, which can be paired with classic beverages like Vietnamese iced coffee or Thai milk tea. This isn’t a place to come when you’re in a rush, as even the sandwiches sometimes take up to half an hour to prepare. But don’t worry: the bold flavors and fresh ingredients are well worth the wait." - Maya Homan

The ambiance is the best part of this dining experience. Beautiful space, great jazz music playing quietly. Loud enough to enjoy but quiet enough to have a conversation easily. We went during an off time and most of the tables were filled but already had their food. We were seated quickly and our order was taken right away. They were out of most things we wanted (no grilled chicken), so we settled on spring rolls and Bahn mi with roasted pork. They only had one staff person on the floor, which meant service was very slow though she was very nice. Our sandwiches took forever. We also ordered 2 specialty drinks. The Thai iced tea was disgusting. It smelled strongly of vanilla extract and tasted like it had alcohol in it, and I was told it didn't. The spring rolls were delicious. The Bahn mi was ok. There wasn't much filling and the pork had lots of chewy fat that I had to swallow whole. It was impossible to chew. Overall, disappointing experience.

Here I just got a regular pho. It was pretty good pho, not the best not the worst. The service was pretty normal. Waiter was nice and food was decently quick. The vibes were nice, super chill music. Would recommend this spot to anyone who likes Vietnamese food 👍

Google
Cute little place. The pho broth was extremely flavorful! The beef was also delicious and I appreciated that the pho came in a kid size if specified. The spring rolls were also very refreshing. A bit pricey tho.

We went in very close to closing time but they were welcoming and didn't try to rush us out. Banh mi was very flavorful and toasted perfectly. I wish there was more meat and veg but what there was tasted really good. Pho was also good if slightly bland. We asked for a small container of fish sauce and added it to the broth which made it almost perfect.

If you want an averagely good bowl of pho and not prepared to wait TWO HOURS for it, don’t come to this place!! First off, I came to the restaurant at 12:30, and it was completely full. No one greeted me at the door, said nothing about waiting times, and there wasn’t even empty chairs you could sit on to wait with. The place is painfully understaffed, with only one person doing everything, cleaning, accounting, etc. I only got a seat at around 1. Then it was another 15 minutes before I even got a cup of water. I placed my order at around 1:20, and I wasn’t served until 2:00. Mind you, I ordered a regular pho dish. This isn’t some fancy upend French fine dining that took their time. If the restaurant had started growing the bean sprouts when I placed the order, then the wait time would have been reasonable. Then, the quality of the food is completely not worth the wait. The pho was good, garnished nicely, but then again, this is PHO. It’s not omakase. It was also 16 dollars for the regular sized pho, and the meat is at least three times less than what I’ve gotten in other Vietnamese restaurants’ pho for the same price. I could probably have eaten all the meat in one regular sized bite. The ribs were an extra add on. In summary, it was expensive, extremely slow in serving, and VERY MUCH NOT WORTH IT. The restaurant is cute and well decorated, and the one person working there was doing a lot. But the understaffing isn’t a consumer’s problem. I would highly not recommend this place and definitely personally never coming back.

Google
Really nice place to get some Vietnamese food, I could say that they need to increase the protein portion on pho, but in quality/price they are very good. Definitely i would come back Excellent atmosphere, and the staff was really nice, 👍🏼

Google
Not a great experience. We came here on a Saturday afternoon and we were immediately seated without much of a crowd. We waited nearly 30+ minutes for two bowl of pho. When asked about when the food would, the waitress blamed us for not being patient enough.

Google
I came to the restaurant many time, and today disappointed me so much. Waited for 20mins no one checked in, 6 people were waiting in line for a server, and even people who got tables never got their food. I understand noon is a busy for a small home restaurant but if you can’t serve that many people, just tell people stop waiting. Even if the food is amazing, costumers will be disappointed because of the service. The server saw us for a few times but never checked in with anyone. Good luck on your future venture.

Yelp
I've walked by this place over a dozen times and almost every time, you can smell the wonderful aroma of their pho broth. Well today was the day that a group of us decided to go in. I'm glad we did but I wish I would have visited sooner! For starters, we had the shrimp spring rolls. So fresh and delicious. Will have this again! For mains, we had a variety. The veggie rice plate, the rice plate with pork, and the standard beef pho. Lets just say that by the end of the meal, there was hardly anything left on each plate/bowl! The pho was super hot and tasted awesome. It seemed to have the perfect amount of flavor with nothing overpowering. I would order this again for sure. So the rice plates were really good also. The pork was extremely flavorful and the fresh veggies accompanied the meal to perfection. In terms of value, I'd say it was really good by today's standards. This seems like a family business with the mom working the front of the house with the assistance of her son. Overall, it was a great experience and I would come back again. One big note is that the menu is very limited. This isn't necessarily a bad thing but if you're expecting to choose a variety of proteins and broths, you'd be disappointed. If you're ordering pho, it's going to be beef. The only choice you have is kid's or adult size.

Yelp
Rude staff. I was ordering food to go and my father wanted to use the restroom but they rudely told my father that he had to purchase first and only then will he be able you go in (after specifically seeing proof of purchase). I always purchase something prior to using the facilities at any establishment. I was telling her what my order was but she seemed fixated on my father who was waiting patiently to go to the bathroom. How can I show you proof of purchase if you wont take my order?? If i'm placing an order right away, what does it matter if we use the bathroom at around the same time? I felt really disgusted that they could treat my father like this. There are better ways to communicate if you have trouble speaking the local language without coming off as blatantly bigoted and racist. Which is honestly what I got from them at that point. They were exceptionally rude to my 73 year old father and that too in front of EVERYONE sitting there. I just threw down the menu on the table and left without a single word. Absolutely disgusted.

Yelp
A cute Vietnamese restaurant between Northeastern and Berklee. LOCATION: Street parking only but located on Mass Ave so it's a busy area. The restaurant itself is small but cozy. MENU: The menu is very limited and consist of spring rolls, banh mi, pho and rice dishes. FOOD: I ordered the beef pho and it was only beef flank with options to add more meat or rib. I was hoping for some more cuts or tendon. My fellow diner ordered the pork rice plate and enjoyed it! SERVICE: Very friendly but it did take a while for the food to come out.

Yelp
First time in Boston and I saw this Vietnamese restaurant across the street when I visited Christian Science Mapparium. I ordered the Grilled Pork Banh Mi. DELICIOUS!!! The bread was crisp and soft. (I dislike breads that hurt the roof of your mouth). The grilled pork had yummy flavors of sweet/spice, and tasty umami. Mixed with CRISP veggies, this Banh Mi was inhaled in a few minutes of me taking my first bite. The grilled pork sandwich cost $8.95 without taxes. For under 10 dollars, it was worth every penny. I ONLY wished there was more meat in the sandwich. My spouse ordered the veggie rice plate. She is a picky eater but she really enjoyed her plate. She ate everything and nothing was left. Cost of veggie rice place, $15. Total cost of meal for both of us, approximately $26 with taxes. You will not be disappointed!

Yelp
Hands down that was the best Pho I've had in Boston! Great depth of flavor, the meat is perfectly cooked.

Yelp
When Basil Pho had a waitlist for lunch, I retraced my steps to Saigon Fusion. It's a little dark inside, and I thought the music was too loud (- 1/2 star), but the waitress was working hard, and the kitchen was keeping up. I had a hankering for pho, so I was pleased to see there was a "kid" option for the smaller portion size. It was hot, delicious, and the price was right.

Yelp
Lovely little joint and dare I say a hidden gem. The cafe is family-run so there is a longer wait time (but the sever lady works really hard). For the wait time I want to lower my rating but the food was too good. The food is probably one of the most authentic Vietnamese I've tasted and reminded me a lot of my mothers cooking. They do have a small menu but all popular dishes!

Yelp
My parents love this place after stumbling upon it in December. They literally just walked by it and it smelled good so they went inside. My biggest impression of this place is how they didn't squeeze an extra row of tables in the middle and how slow the service is. I think they only have one staff in the front and in the back. It's fair for my parents to rave about it as I would say it's the best overall pho place I've been to too. I'm not saying each element is perfect, but overall speaking yeah it's quite good. It came out hot but not piping. The beef is obviously steak pieces with a lot more texture than usual pho paper thin slices. It's high quality and bit fatty too. The broth had a lot of spices too unlike other pho places which is more "clear" and msg forward. This one is obviously ginger and cinnamon forward. It actually feels quite cozy but just FYI in case some people don't like those spices. I remember trying it with and without lemon. I think the citrus brightness complements the spices. The noodles itself could be smoother but it's okay enough here where it isn't the type to get all mushy after a while. Service is quite slow. It took 20+ minutes for my pho to arrive. I mean I think it's fine as long as you know what you're getting into. Pork chop rice. My parents were interested in trying something besides pho. They got the pork chop rice which was so small they devoured it in three minutes. The rice portion is small the egg covers the whole thing. I guess it's okay to do that since people eat less rice nowadays but also just another FYI about this place. Honestly I don't think people will be full from just one main dish. My parents liked how fresh everything was, but the actual meat wasn't their favorite. It was definitely heavily marinated but the flavors didn't seep through. The flavors remained on the exterior and made the meat too wet. Idk maybe they brushed sauce afterwards. Besides spacious seating, I'm amused seeing customers shift around tables. Sometimes 1-2 ppl groups have a share a larger table or move to an empty one afterwards.

Yelp
My rating is really a 4.7 mainly due to the pricing and other things BUT you have to take in consideration of the location it's in which is near the Prudential!! Everything here is super cute and has this cozy, comforting vibe! Love the decor and presentation. The menu is small, but that just means they really take the time to focus and perfect the few dishes they offer to make it really good! They offer one type of pho, two different rice dishes, some banh mi's, and spring rolls. Regular Pho ($17.75) 4.8/5 Besides the pricing, I'll have to admit the pho was SUPER flavorful and clean! Honestly one of the better phos I had in a while. The meat was tender, but don't expect the meats you get in Pho Dac Biet like the flank, round eye, brisket etc. The meat they use is cut into small chunks that get more cooked in the broth. Toffee Milk Tea ($6) 3.8/5 Super cute presentation for sure! I really love the big toffee bits. However, since it was under the "milk tea" category, I expected it to be a milk tea not just milk and the toffee melting into it. If you get this though, the toffee is great, but just be aware the base is just milk! Service: the lady was SO SWEET love her so kind! I went right before they started dinner service so I didn't experience a crazy wait for my food, but when I left people were starting to come in and pack the place As someone that's Vietnamese, there are other cheaper phos in Dorchester that I'd rather go to, but if you live in the area and are deciding on which pho place to go, come here instead of the other phos in the area!

Yelp
What a lovely spot worth the wait! We had a show at the Berklee performance center and stopped by for a quick bite before it. The wait was like 10 minutes and you can see this is a small family-run restaurant. The mother and her sons helping serving and cleaning. We ordered some fresh rolls, pho and some chicken rice. All were sooo fresh, well balanced and so flavorful. If we had time, i would've ordered more to try other items! Prices very affordable too! Will be back

Yelp
Saigon Fusion is a Vietnamese restaurant located at 201 Mass Ave, Boston. It is near the Mary Baker Eddy Library. I must admit, I was skeptical due to the name of the restaurant. Asian fusion food scares me. I am so glad I gave them a try because this restaurant is so good! The toffee coffee was why I even agreed to try them out. It did not disappoint! My new favorite drink! This is good Vietnamese dripped coffee with condensed milk and topped with crunchy chunks of toffee. Amazing! The Banh Mi pate and jabon is amazing! Probably the best Banh mi I have had in a long time. The shrimp spring roll is so good! The hoisin sauce dipping sauce for the spring rolls is how the peanut sauce should be, and not the goopy peanut mess they serve at other Vietnamese restaurants. The spring roll uses real lettuce and mint leaves. I probably don't need my lettuce sticking out like that but that's ok. I am very happy with the beef broth pho. My husband and I ordered two large size, one with extra meat, and one with added ribs. The meat is so tender. The broth is just how I like it, just the right amount of star anise and cinnamon. The pho came topped with green onion, sawtooth herbs and Thai basil and accompanied by a small plate of bean sprouts, lime wedges, and sliced jalapeños. The only thing that could make this better would be some freshly ground black peppers. My son devoured his rice and pork dish with added fried egg. If you have had organic eggs, you'd know right away. Saigon fusion does not skimp on quality. My son also enjoyed the strawberry milk shake which his sister did not want after trying my toffee coffee (she ate all of the toffee). There was only one lady taking orders and bringing out the food. We spoke half in Vietnamese and half English. She was super friendly. The service was slow but not unbearably slow. Everything tasted amazing, high quality ingredients. I'll definitely be back again. I highly recommend this place for authentic Vietnamese coffee, banh mi, spring rolls, pho, and rice dish. All were amazing! Total came to $100 before tip. Although more expensive that your typical mom and pop Vietnamese restaurant, you just simply can't find this quality at a lower price anywhere in Boston. In my opinion, worth every penny. See my pictures.

Yelp
Unfortunately, Saigon Fusion was not ready to impressive this evening. The wait was oddly long for pho and spring rolls. The dishes lacked the authentic taste of Vietnam. The restaurant is small yet cozy, but it also lack good service as wait for drinks and assistance was long as well.
google avatar

Erin O.

Yelp
Disclaimer that I ordered takeout from here- I think most people dine-in and I'm sure that would be a much better experience. Unfortunately Saigon Fusion doesn't have much of an online presence (no way to order online or view the menu), so you need to call to place an order. I ordered a few things and the staff on the phone told me that it would be a 30-45 minute wait. It ended taking closer to 50 minutes, even despite ordering before the dinner rush, so keep that in mind if you're in a rush! The restaurant itself is super adorable, quaint with tons of decorations that make you feel cozy. The food itself was good but nothing extraordinary. My pork banh mi was tasty, but there were 3-4 EXTREMELY hot slices of pepper on the sandwich. I normally have a decent spice tolerance, but it was so unexpected and shocking how spicy it was. The shrimp spring rolls were also good besides the very large amount of thai basil inside them - I've never had spring rolls with basil in them before. The taste of the basil was very overwhelming and not my favorite. We might've gotten unlucky, or maybe the fusion flavor combinations just weren't for me!

Yelp
My roommate and I came here several times in the past year and it is just the best! Absolutely delicious banh mi and great pho. Sweetest woman at the front always greeted us warmly and great service.

Yelp
Exactly what I needed after a longgggg night! Super warm and comforting! The broth was yummy and the meats are nice and tender. This is a great portion size for me and I ate everything up! I think that considering they only have this type of pho, they should elevate it a lot more. They have a big range of banh mi and rice plates but if this is the only type of pho they serve they could do better. But overall, I was super hungry and this is exactly what I needed to heal my soul!

Yelp
Wow what a hidden gem! Don't be deterred by the "fusion" in the name - super authentic Vietnamese food (I'm Vietnamese and very picky) * food: amazing, fresh Vietnamese food. The owner uses family recipes passed down from her grandparents. I had the bánh mì with pate and pulled chicken - so good! Really fresh and perfect spiciness level. The bread was perfectly fluffy with a light crunchy crust. My husband got the phở which was really flavorful. * ambience: imagine a cozy, cute French-Vietnamese cafe. Seating is limited and service is a bit slow but totally worth it if you're not in a rush and want to while away the day with some delicious food in a nice setting. * service: slow, but that's because it's a family run small shop! The owner seemed to be doing most things herself, but came by to chat with us and was really sweet. Will definitely be coming back and bringing my parents!

Colm N.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I are regulars at Saigon Fusion. The strawberry milk tea is so refreshing and has real strawberry chunks. The pho is always so delicious as well with a generous serving size. We recently started trying the pulled chicken sandwiches, and those have so much flavor. Every new thing we try is delicious! Above all, the service is unbelievably hospitable and friendly!
google avatar

Ariana C.

Yelp
This place always has the best smell omitting from it, I finally stopped in, and it DOES NOT disappoint. This family owned business has such a nice atmosphere, and a nice selection of music. We were greeted instantly by a nice woman, and the hospitality was amazing. Our food was even better than we expected, recommend the Spring Rolls and Pho. The baguette sandwich looked very full and impressive! If you get the chance, stop by Saigon Fusion for a lovely dining experience.
google avatar

Anh N.

Yelp
The best pho restaurant around Boston. This is a family owned restaurant, everything is homemade, therefore, the service is slow but it is definitely worth the wait. The broth was very clear, light but flavorful, the meat was tender. Highly recommended if you are looking for homemade pho!
google avatar

Chris K.

Yelp
The price went up But I dont think u can get a better bowl anywhere else still. Maybe get your coffee at dunks to break even
google avatar

Stuart L.

Yelp
I love places with limited items on their menus - they know what they do well, and they stick to it, at a high degree of excellence. The ambiance of Saigon Fusion is muted - low Iighting, quiet, how I more often than bot prefer it. Everything is made to order, so things come slowly to the table, but it is worth the wait. And I appreciated eating without any sense of pressure or rush in that ambiance, even though it was dinner rush on Saturday night. I had the grilled pork goi cuon. Exceptional. Subtle flavors, everything high quality, fresh, and balanced. And even the nuoc cham was home-made! I regret not having visited sooner, but I don't make my eay into the Berklee neighborhood as often as I once did. I'll be back.
google avatar

Tina L.

Yelp
I am practically a Pho expert so read on. Very cute restaurant, I've Easter here about twice now. Tonight I found the Pho very bland, and lacking in flavor. This was very disappointing as there is such a wonderful broth aroma in the restaurant, it automatically prepares you for flavorful pho. Oh well! The spring rolls were delicious and fresh. Lastly this place is a bit pricey compared to other Vietnamese places, the one just next door has slightly better prices, and a much tastier pho.
google avatar

Donald P.

Yelp
Ordered for take-out. The pork bahn mi sandwich was nicely wrapped and tasted pretty good. Pretty much exactly what I expect...and as always wished it had a little more protein, just like everywhere else I've been. Who couldn't use a little more, right? We ordered pho from here specifically because the other pho/thai place next door didn't serve take-out in a bowl so we could eat back at the hotel. We were super disappointed that they placed raw meat in the bowl of ingredients. That just doesn't make any sense! That's Food Safety 101 - Cross contamination!!! Cook the meat first or put it in plastic container with the hot soup broth. We had to try and cook it in the microwave in the hotel. No one got sick, but that's not the way I like to experience excitement. Lol.

Yelp
This is the best pho in Boston. Though more expensive than others, I find it to be worth is considering the cheaper options don't have much flavor to begin with. The owner is a sweet nice lady who obviously really cares about her broth and ingredients. I wish they delivered.

Cheyenne C.

Yelp
When my friends said we were gonna eat pho near symphony, I was panicking cuz I thought we were about to eat at pho basil. Instead I was pleasantly surprised! I absolutely love this pho place, I feel like it was made just for my taste buds alone. I'm VERY picky w pho places, like i can only stomach pho once every couple of months,,,, but i've been coming back here consistently whenever i'm in the city LMAO. Like this pho place is on my mind so often it gets brought up within a lot of my conversations. The prices are on the pricier side, but the portions are to my liking, I usually cannot finish a whole small pho, but the kid size is all gone when i'm done. And i'm not left w overcooked noodles. The broth is also very amazing,,, skip pho basil & level up ur taste buds ((its mid sorrry!)) I took two bites from pho basil & I did not want any more. The staff here are so cute and nice , & the place is decorated so nicely. It's a cozy lil corner for you to enjoy your good shoup. The only complaints I have which is not a big deal to my experience is the thai tea is not to my liking taste wise, but i'm not a thai tea expert. I just know I love the taste of teado & thai bar shi's thai tea. & I wish there was ribeye/brisket/thin cuts of meat w the pho. Overall, would recommend :-).

L Z.

Yelp
The service is incredibly slow. We were here for a late lunch at 2pm, the food did NOT come out on the table until 2:40pm. 40 minutes! The waitress was super rude, not even a simple " sorry"! The bang mi is so small with very little meat inside. Not worth the money, not worth the time! 0 star! And at the end, I decided to leave a small tip instead of no tip which I should have done! The waitress had the nerve and chase me demanding a 18% tip! And threatening to charge 18% tip on my credit card no matter what! Unbelievable!

C G.

Yelp
We were in this area and decided to try this place. We ordered pho. The taste was average and size is definitely the smallest pho we ever had. Service is extremely slow - took an hour get our order. The place is very small - less than ten tables and mostly for two people.
google avatar

Sonya F.

Yelp
Love the pho here!! The space is small, but I can tell that they work hard to serve a large amount of customers on time. The wait is nonetheless worth it because their noodles are amazing! The atmosphere is considerably relaxing and a great place to catch up with friends as you wait for food. Ordering takeout for lunch is also a great option that I have tried multiple times before, highly recommend this spot!!

Yelp
I was raised on good pho, and it's usually an economical option for a hearty meal so I've had a lot of it. This pho was not it. It's not the worse tasting, but it wasn't good either. Mediocre at best. The broth is incredibly greasy, and their portions are embarrassingly tiny. This is coming from someone who usually gets a kids pho size or shares a regular due to normal pho bowls being too hefty. However, for $17.75, they barely give a kid's size portion of noodles and the meat could probably fit inside a 1/4 cup. We added a rib for $6.75 and it barely had meat on it. And the extra noodles for $3- don't count on it. We left hungry and resorted to airplane food to subsidize our hunger. Lastly, the service is somewhat typical of most pho places- curt and less than willing to assist when needed. If you can help it, skip this spot.

Yelp
Food was phenomenal and vibe was just right. Their pho and banh mi were top notch. The waitress was very nice and speedy.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday and opening hour is 11:30am and door is locked waited for 30 minutes and it's still not open. Idk what food would be like but this is a turnoff.
google avatar

Lani C.

Yelp
Honestly wasn't expecting much when I first came in. It's well-decorated but dimly lit. Didn't smell of the typical aromas of Vietnamese restaurants, and the classical music was at EDM volume. Thankfully, the server was so kind to turn it down a couple notches for me! And once the food arrived, all my initial meh feelings went right out the door. Beautifully plated (just look at it!!) and equally delicious. Signature Banh Mi - WOW. The pulled chicken has such a unique flavor. The ginger really comes through here and nothing is too overwhelming. Nice crispy bread. Would 100% buy several to eat throughout the week if I could. Pho - Ordered the kid size so I could save room for more food lol but even the kid size was a decent serving! Ideally would have liked more flavor in the broth, but meat is so fresh and moist (not dry like most pho spots). Rice with Grilled Pork - Another happy surprise! I want to pack whatever the sauce is in a bottle and pour it on everything. The only thing I would change is the portion size- much less than what I'm used to getting.
google avatar

Leona C.

Yelp
I came here because the line at pho basil down the street was too long. The flavors are ok, portion sizes were small (comparably), and it was over priced. But, the best thing I had there was the vegetarian spring roll (way better than the shrimp one!).

Ami G.

Yelp
Food: when the restaurant serves just one type of pho and manages to stay open for quite a number of years, you know it is good. The pho was delicious and I loved everything about it, especially the soup. I almost asked for a second serving of just the soup because it was so yummy. The toffee coffee was also really good with real chunks of toffee in the drink. Service: service was a bit slow as there seemed to be just one person working the floor. Be prepared to wait for ordering, your actual food, and also paying. Ambience: it was pretty chill. Good place to grab a bite with friends or relaxing by yourself.

Nancy L.

Yelp
Pho and fresh spring rolls were the best I've had outside of Vietnam! Pho broth is rich and flavorful. Will be back!
google avatar

Leah L.

Yelp
Every few weeks I get an intense craving for pho and decided to check out Saigon Fusion. Unfortunately, I thought the pho was average at best - broth was standard but the pho didn't come with a lot of meat and/or veggies. Also, The regular sized pho is $17.75 which is much more expensive than I am used to. Additionally, the wait was pretty long (40 minutes) to get our food despite being seated and ordering pretty quickly. I may come back if I'm in the area, but overall I didn't think the pho really hit the mark for its price.

Remedios B.

Yelp
The atmosphere was quiet and very chill. Inside the restaurant is filled with all kinds of plants and foliage, making it feel home-y and calm. Service was on the slower side but the delicious food made it worth it.
google avatar

Regina T.

Yelp
Small hole in the wall, that has some of the coziest decor! Was originally planning on going to Pho and Basil nearby, but the line was out to the door so we stumbled upon Saigon Fusion! Honestly, I'm glad we ended up here, was definitely a great find. I ordered the vietnamese iced coffee, grilled pork rice plate, and split two orders of pork and shrimp spring rolls. The spring rolls had good flavor, fresh herbs, and came with a great sauce. The coffee was strong and thick--definitely one of the best I've had in the area. The grilled pork was good, I'm used to getting a pork chop (and usually prefer it because it's not as dry), but was pretty happy with the flavor on the pieces. They were juicy and a decent portion for ~$13. I probably wouldn't come out to Boston for this place, but it'll be a go to when I'm in the area next time!

Alexey S.

Yelp
The best soup pho that I ever had in my life:) This usually happens when the owner truly loves her business and cares about customers. A very warm, inviting and delicious place. Food is fresh and the ingredients are top notch. 100% recommend!

Yelp
Love this place. Pho is pretty good (probably my second favorite after my favorite spot Sai Gon Dep in NYC), but the grilled rice plates are the best. Both grilled chicken and pork are herbaliviously delicious, and gluten free for this little celiac. The vibe of this place is wonderful. It's like a little nature romantic oasis in the middle of Boston, and just so darn cute. Plants and flowers everywhere and the gnomes! They also have amazing spring rolls, but the peanut sauce is not Gf so make sure you replace with fish sauce. One thing to note is this place gets BUSY and often have 1-2 servers for a full place, even at odd times like 3 or 4 pm and dishes do take a bit of time to come out, So plan accordingly. We typically get take out which isn't an issue, and place our order, go do something else, and come back after.

Yelp
love love love this place! It's ran by the sweetest lady and her family. Sometimes it can be slow, so it's a great place to spend time with others. You can bring your own wine, which I love. I recommend if you want something fast that you call about 20 min ahead of time for pickup. I always get their pork or chicken bahn mi and it's so delicious. And it's only about $9 or $10! It's very filling too. I've had one of their rice plates before as well and it was sooo good! Although it's a small place, the ambiance is great, they play calming music and it's always clean! Highly recommend!

Yelp
We came at 6pm and the line was very long. Finally got seated at 7pm, and food came out at 7.30pm. The pho was phenomenal--we could smell the aroma from outside the store! It was one of the best broths I've ever had (I want to give 6 stars if I could), and the rib was extremely tender but not mushy. The rare beef portion was kinda small tho, so 1 star off for that and the long wait time, but this spot is definitely worth a try!

Yelp
I come here for the beef Pho (not the same as what i get in Viet Nam but it's the closest thing to it in Boston). Cozy atmosphere but the service is a bit slow.

Yelp
Their food is okay compared to other Vietnamese restaurants in Boston area. However, I did not like the owner or the manager there. The store always run late. Not because of too many customers but because of lack of staffs. I ordered bánh mì by phone, they said 45mins wait time. But it was 1h45mins later to get my orders. No explanation at all. I should have spent that time somewhere having better customer service.

Yelp
I waited the Banh Mi for 1 hour.....and it's not really tasty. Just a waste of my time.

Yelp
TAKE OUT REVIEW - order ahead ! If you're in the mood for Vietnamese come here. If you're in the mood for delicious thin meat slices either in soup or bread come here. Just come. Please come here on a weekday for a swift meal. Weekend especially Saturday night will *not* be the best time. It is a small restaurant and everyone already knows how delicious it is, so your order will be delayed and you won't get a table. Socially distanced seating means there are only like 5 tables inside and one table outside. If you must then make a reservation and bring your patience. Take out pho ($13.95) comes with separately packaged soup, bean sprout / greens, noodles in a bowl, and meat wrapped in paper. Very thoughtful. Different cuts of meat come in the pho and the raw thinly sliced meat comes separately packaged. Once you pour the soup in the bowl, the meat will cook in that beef broth and it will compliment your noodles with that tender bite. Take out signature banh mi ($8.00) comes with pate, jambon, and shredded chicken. There isn't much of the typical pickled carrots and daikon but so much more of meat than usual. And they're seasoned incredibly. This is one of the best (if not the best) banh mi I've had. The baguette is also quite nice. I want to eat this banh mi again tomorrow. I really love this sandwich. Plus that price - 100% recommend. Let's support precious local businesses.

Yelp
Cozy, clean, friendly and accommodating. Really delicious & authentic food. Not a long wait. Ordered spring rolls, pho, lemon salt soda, avocado smoothie. All excellent. Would go again!

Yelp
Hands down my favorite bowl of Pho in Boston. Small Menu with just the essentials. Each item is done beautifully. Plated well, garnished well. The broth is amazing here. It is so incredibly subtle and deep in flavor. Sure it might not be the most savory or MSG flavored but I really enjoy the complexities of taste in the broth. The aesthetic of this restaurant is also beautiful. I visited this restaurant once pre-COVID and was surprised to see the nearly complete transformation. They changed wall decor, tables and have even more plants (which was the main selling point before) I love this place and will be back pho more! -Koh

Yelp
The BEST bahn mi I've had in Boston (grilled chicken)! The pho was also excellent! Might be a bit of a wait, but the food does not disappoint!

Yelp
Excellent broth, one of the best ever tried in Pho places, and meat is tender. Service is fast and attentive.
