Google
This place has a special place in my heart. I stumbled on this place while having to take a detour due to the freeway closure when I used to drive Long Haul from LA to Oakland Daily. I made a mental note and came back a month later after I remembered where it was. Man, oh man, the gem this place is. I originally wanted their Pho, and it's very good Pho. But let me tell ya, their Bun Bo Hue was by far my favorite thing to have there. The depth of flavor of the beef and lemon grass in that broth had me.. and the chili sauce the owners wife makes is next level when you add it to this soup. I always ask for extra broth because why not. I know this is wrong, but I like Subbing out the Bun Bo noodle for the Pho noodle. Just clings on to the broth much better, so each bite and slurp are that much tastier.

Google
Thoroughly worth visiting with great portion sizes and decent prices. My brother, my mom, and I all went here instead of the pizza place across the street because the pizzeria wasn't open yet, and I don't regret it at all! Definitely going back here. I took a photo of the front of their menu since they deliver, and they even serve tray-sized portions for events.

Google
Friendly service, lots of different food options. The nem nuong pork spring roll has crispy bits similar to Brodards in SoCal. We ordered beef short ribs pho #66, bun rieu #34, and pork spring roll #4NM. Food was good, the portion was just right without the food coma afterwards. The owner is very friendly, he speaks Cantonese, Vietnamese and English. Many locals and regulars come here, sit down and order without looking at the menu. The restaurant is located at a small strip mall with limited parking. The decor looks dated, but the food is good and hits the spot.

Great food and nice people short ribs with garlic noodles is an excellent choice

I recently tried out Saigon House and really enjoyed my meal. The seating outside seemed nicely covered and cool, while the interior has a lot of personality from its classic all wood counter to the many plants hanging around the windows and sills. The service was prompt and friendly. The owners seem to generally be taking orders or hanging around and are friendly, funny and talkative. I found that to make for a good dining experience personally as it added to the local, mom/ pop vibe present at this restaurant. We ordered a spread of food- the pho is really good. The brother is on the lighter side and not overly savory/ aromatic with a slight sweetness, so if that fits your palette, I believe you would enjoy it. The herbs and added items were generous and I got a good amount of meat in the bowl too. The bun bo hue was equally delicious, with a good flavor though did not have the trotter or pork blood which I always love to see as an add-in. The Korean BBQ Garlic Noodles surprised me and so I had to give them a try- the meat was perfectly cooked and flavorful, and the noodles were good, albeit slightly dried out over the course of our meal. The Vietnamese coffee here is really great, and the banh mi was also delicious and had a nice sweetness to them. Overall, I loved eating here from the atmosphere and service to the pretty solid meal too. If you are thinking of trying out this place, I would recommend doing so.

Google
This is one of the best pho places I’ve tried in the Bay Area. When they brought the broth to our table, I could immediately smell its incredible aroma — you can tell it’s made with fresh herbs, not from a premade soup base. It tasted exactly like what my family makes at home, with that authentic herbal fragrance you expect from proper pho. Everything was super delicious. We’re so glad to have discovered a new pho spot for our family!

Google
What a great place to eat, food amazing, service quick and friendly and the atmosphere was vibrant. I ordered the combination pho and the broth was next level. Oh Yhea do t forget to order the tai tea 💥 so much to chose from on menu I can’t wait to try something else next time in town.

Google
This is our first time at this establishment and it did not disappoint. We got ourselves the house special pho. The meat was really tender and the service was superb.

Yelp
Normally I wouldn't write reviews for a place that has so many already, but I noticed that *nobody* has talked about their shaken beef yet, so I am here to remedy that. The restaurant is small but cozy, full of fake plants all over, with old wallpaper that make it feel like someone's auntie's house. Food is top notch. Especially the shaken beef. They don't call it that, they call it cubed steak or something, though the Viet name, bo luc lac, is unmistakeable. I can't definitively say whether it was the standard filet mignon or not, though the steak was quite tender for the most part. It included all of what I'd expect it to: beef, onions, green and red bell peppers, delicious garlicky sauce. Which is not a given, as I've had this dish at every Viet restaurant that will sell it to me and the only guarantee is the beef. This restaurant also included a little dish of a lemon pepper sauce for dipping, which is unusual for this dish but greatly appreciated! It was delicious to alternate between normal bites and lemon-dipped bites, and I was a bit sad when I went for another bite and realized I'd finished the plate. Oh well, I can always come back for more another day!

Yelp
Solid food with affordable prices! I frequently order from this restaurant because the food never disappoints. Here are some of my favorites: *Chicken salad (sooo fresh, serving is huge, and is a good starter to a meal) *bahn mi (straight to the point, basic, but satisfying) *spring rolls (the crunch factor is what makes this app delectable) *garlic noodles and beef ribs (solid choice for some savory eats!) *pho (yummm clear broth) *thai tea (creamy and delicious) I've mentioned this spot to many friends and family because why not share the love!

Yelp
Compared to the Tri-Valley, I think San Leandro has a larger and better selection of Vietnamese restaurants. We frequented Saigon House for lunch twice and both times the food was excellent. Service is quick and efficient, and there's plenty of seating inside and outside. Another plus is that they have two clean unisex bathrooms in the back next to the kitchen. I recommend: * Garlic noodles with grilled chicken - Sounds simple but this is true comfort food. Thin, chewy round noodles with tons of ginger-garlic-scallion flavors and some seriously juicy chicken meat. *Grilled pork over rice - The texture of the pork seems ground to me, so its more like a pork satay as compared to say, pork loin. If you want a chewier texture, get the pork chop instead. The flavor of the pork are a good balance of gingery and salty, and the soft texture makes the dish toddler friendly too. *I like how you can mix and match side items to add some more protein: grilled chicken, grilled pork, pork chop, Kalbi, or in our case, some crispy fish cakes with that sweet-sour dipping sauce. * For Pho, my wife liked #19 which has all the beefy items while leaving out the tripe and tendon. Plenty of parking in the shared parking lot. They also have a solid takeout business and can crank up large party trays of stuff for catering.

Yelp
10/10 food is so good and the staff is so nice and friendly. The vibe is pretty warm and you feel welcome as soon as you walk in!

Yelp
This was my first time coming here after a super long time. I'm glad I did because it was so good!! I got the BBH as always-- 9/10! Also tried Tofu Goi Cuon and it was so yummy! It's a spring roll that comes with lettuce, rice noodle, egg roll wrapper, and fried tofu. I loved the peanut sauce it came with as it really tied together the flavors. The egg roll wrapper also gave it a nice additional texture. My BF got the Bun Cha Vermicelli Bowl. It was also pretty good! 9/10, very filling Service was great, seems like a cute mom and pop shop. I didn't know they opened at 0900, I came at 0838 and they still kindly welcomed us with open arms! Thank you not many viet places open this early I feel, I will be back!!

Yelp
Service is good here. The owner was very nice to my daughter. He tries to make conversation with her. We ordered food to taste test before doing a catering order. The food comes out quick and its hot. Made to order goodness. The restaurant is filled with beautiful flowers feels like cherry blossom season year around. They open on Saturdays from 9a - 8pm and you can call in your catering order at least one day ahead. We will be back in a few weeks.

Yelp
What an amazing Vietnamese Restaurant hidden inside San Leandro! It was my first time visiting and I wanted to try the extensive menu they have at Saigon House. I met the owner George and his wife. They are a lovely, hard working couple that have been running this restaurant for 12 years. So I ordered a few items: Ribs and beef pho: the broth here is very flavorful and needs no add-one like sriracha or hoisin sauce, just the basil, bean sprouts, jalapeños, and the homemade chili sauce they have is more than enough. One of the best pho in the Bay and the price is also very low compared to other pho spots. Garlic Noodles: the noodles were bouncy and firm. The noodles had a wonderful garlicky oyster saucy flavor along with grilled chicken on top. Banh Mi: this was good but I think next time I would ask for no sweet sauce, maybe just some mayonnaise if they have it. Fresh pork rolls: excellent appetizer along with the peanut sauce. Wings with fish sauce: I usually like my wings naked but in this case, I loved the sticky sweet and savory sauce they added on the wings. Very delicious. Vermicelli noodles: this was a large portion of noodles, veggies, meat, egg roll, etc. this combo along with the fish sauce makes for a very satisfying meal. The service is great. Nice large dining area both indoor and outdoor. Can't wait to come back for more.

Yelp
Solid Vietnamese spot that delivers all the classics, done well and without any fuss. Their noodle soups definitely stand out more than the rice or vermicelli dishes, but everything I've tried hits the spot when I'm craving good Viet food. My go-to here is the bun bo hue--flavorful and satisfying. I also like their mi (egg noodle) soups, though the wonton wrappers are a bit too thick for my taste. The pork rice plate was fine- the rice was a bit too mush but the pork was very tender. That said, the broths across the board are seasoned just right--savory, balanced, and comforting. Service is no-frills, but efficient. If you're in the mood for pho, bun bo hue, bun rieu, or mi, don't overthink it--just head over and satisfy that craving.

Yelp
This is my go to spot in San Leandro..They have good food offered at reasonable prices .. I love that they open early

Yelp
[IN A NUTSHELL] good noodles, ok soup flavor [VERDICT] - NOT APPROVED [RUN-DOWN] I wanted to try a new pho place and found this on Yelp. This was a pretty popular place when we went for dinner. It's a great small shop and there is also a good amount of seating. They also have a wide selection on their menu which was nice to see. Overall, I think if you're in need for some Vietnamese food, this is a good basic place for that. I want to come back and try some of their items because of their wide selection, but for now I wouldn't get the bun bo hue. [SCORE & ORDER] OVERALL: 3/5 Bun Bo Hue $15.95 (3/5) -This dish was only ok for me. The soup was not as spicy as I had hope but also there was not that much meat. The flavoring was there but something was missing. I think the lemon grass flavor was there but besides that, it was not that good. This dish also came with pork belly which was interesting because it's usually with pig feet. It's also missing pig blood which is in classic bun bo hue. I did, however, really enjoy the noodle as it was not too soft and was cooked perfectly. [SERVICE & ATMOSPHERE] (not reflected upon review score): Service was good and the owner (I believe) was super nice. Atmosphere was also nice and it was pretty popular place with a lot of people coming in for dinner. [TIME STAMP] MARCH 2025

Yelp
Amazing restaurant in San Leandro neighborhood strip mall. Food 4.5/5 Service 4/5 Ambiance 3.5/5 Took our families here for my dad's birthday (16 of us), and everyone loved their food order! My sister said even the Iced Coffee and Thai Iced Tea were fantastic. Some pix & reviews below. Will definitely come back!!

Yelp
Amazing garlic noodles, going to be my go to spot. I did order a rare beef pho as well & they forgot to bring it out. By the time it got to my table it was fully cooked. So that I wasn't happy about. But nice service & great tasting.

Yelp
We were starving when we got here; had another long day... Quality/Quantity - Garlic Noodle with Grilled Chicken - Not fair to them, but I make a killer garlic noodle. Theirs was just okay. Decent portions, but I ate everything except 3 pieces of chicken which I gave to my daughter. Grilled Pork and Egg Roll with Vermicelli - My daughter finished it all and some of my dish. Grilled Chicken with Vermicelli - Same chicken as mine and my wife had no left overs. All the dishes and portions seemed decent, but because we were all so hungry, we ate it all. I guess if we had a "normal" appetite, we would have had left overs...? Atmosphere - Small local restaurant. Indoor and outdoor seating. Two unisex restrooms, both missing paper towels. The restrooms could use some love also. Open 6 days a week from 9am to 7:30pm, closed Wednesdays. Yelp hours differ. Small parking lot, but no problem today to get a good space, right in front. Service - Good, the owner tried to crack a few jokes. But we were just too hungry and focused on eating. Price - $44 + tip. Owner Comments - Congrats on your 11+ years at this location. We also saw how proud you were with your Yelp ratings!

Yelp
A very OK pho spot in a good way! Family owned.. maybe even the locals favorite? They struck a nice balance between quality and value. I can't say much about the service because they left us alone after we ordered and got our food. Decided to start with their pho dac biet.. it's because I'm basic and also it's a decent benchmark. The broth was good, but the meat could've been better quality. I did appreciate the beef balls since not all restaurants use those. Definitely good enough for me to come back so I'm going to try their bun bo hue next time.

Qiuchang Z.

Yelp
They give me less noodles I have never had in my life! Like two bites only ! And also when I was about to finish my bowl of noodles soup, my son wants a side of noodles, it's come a little noodle with "NO Soup with it) the boss expected the dry noodles put in to my left over soup for my son, what about if I'm sick , what the , how much is the little bow of broth?everywhere I go to pho noodles, their side of noodles must come with the soup.
google avatar

William S.

Yelp
Very friendly staff, nice spot, and seems like a family-run business. The broth is on point--flavorful and well-balanced. They also provide a solid amount of condiments to customize your bowl, including a chili paste that has a good amount of spice and great flavor. Definitely a great spot to check out!
google avatar

Joe P.

Yelp
Pho is always good. Customer service is always on point. It's our neighborhood Pho place. We will always be back for more.
google avatar

Gillian A.

Yelp
Dunno how to explain but there is an extra level of comfort foodness in having a bowl of bun bo hue specifically in the Bay Area lol. The bun bo hue here is pretty solid. Nothing mind-blowing in terms of bun bo hue standards but still super flavorful and not overly salty at all. The noodles were a tad overcooked and strangely there weren't any pork blood cubes in the bowl. My sister ordered the com bo luc lac. I tried some of it and the beef was just okay. Not the most succulent and there was quite a lot of stir fried onions on the plate (amount was almost as much as that of meat). Overall a little overpriced for what it was. There's kinda a language barrier here but staff crew is very friendly. Restaurant is located in a medium-sized plaza. Had no trouble finding parking.
google avatar

Ed L.

Yelp
I was genuinely surprised how delicious the food is here. It was my first time trying this place and I loved everything we ordered! The interior was simple but cleverly decorated and they have both indoor and outdoor dining! The beef pho, fried egg rolls, and fresh spring rolls made a complete lunch and I literally devoured everything. The beef broth had a rich flavor and the rice noodle was cooked to just the right texture. Spring rolls peanut sauce was tasty that I practically licked it clean Will visit again soon!
google avatar

Nancy C.

Yelp
Garlic noodles are amazing Ambiance is small and a bit congested Service is good family owned. Cleanliness an area of opportunity .

Benson Y.

Yelp
Tried the pho dac biet and grilled pork chop rice. The pho broth was by far the saltiest I've ever had, and it literally stung my tongue on the first sip. Even after diluting it with two cups of hot water, it was still way too salty. The pork chop came out overcooked and tough, and the egg was also overdone. Honestly just mid overall, and I wouldn't come back.
google avatar

Shirley C.

Yelp
Ample seating, food came out quickly. The pho was overall decent and they provided a lot of toppings, vegetables, and meat. My only complaint (and the reason why I docked a star) is because their spring rolls are meager. For the price, the rolls were very loosely filled and they could have used more quantity of ingredients.
google avatar

Debbie F.

Yelp
The food here is amazing! Fresh flavorful food with nice portion sizes. I always get the number 36 which is chocked full of yummy stuff. The chicken salad is a must! The sandwiches are so yummy. Service is good and owner George is so friendly and always makes sure your happy with your food

Michelle N.

Yelp
We saw it on YouTube & ate there last Friday. We ordered the beef sandwich which was amazing. We also ordered phở, bún riêu, shaking beef, bún chả hà nội. We loved all dishes, yummy. We can't wait to come back with more friends! Also, we appreciated the service and hospitality of the owners. It's family operated and so friendly. So glad to discover this place. It's a hidden gem!
google avatar

Genevieve M.

Yelp
My family orders from here on Uber Eats pretty often. At least 2x a month depending on activities maybe involving alcohol on the weekend. I could honestly eat Vietnamese food everyday. Striaightforward pho and competitive pricing. I don't understand other local pho restaurants charging 20+ bucks for a bowl of Pho Tai. It's price gouging at this point and I won't mention the restaurant we used to go to that exploited their workers AND upped the prices (J*** P**). We've tried everything from the pho, to the garlic noodles, to the vermicelli, to the banh mi...... Everything is so good and we we will continue to come here if the prices remain steady. PLEASE SUPPORT THIS LOCAL BUSINESS!!!!!
google avatar

Haley L.

Yelp
I came on a Saturday for lunch around 12pm and it was busy with customers inside and take out orders. The food came out within 10 minutes of us ordering. The nem nuong spring rolls were so good, the crunchy rice paper and the pork were so yummy it reminded me of Brodard's in LA (just missing the sauce). The bun bo hue is now my favorite in the East Bay, I will definitely be back whenever I'm craving BBH. They use different meat (no pork hock, no tendon, no pork blood) but I don't mind since I don't really eat that when I get BBH. The pho was really solid too but meat quality isn't up there but it still hits the spot. Prices are still really good, all 3 came out to $40 before tip. This is my new go to spot for BBH and pho.

Pak Y.

Yelp
Garlic noodles pretry darn good Either the owner copy the scene from "dude, where is my car?" Or the movie copy him. Owner always say "and thennnnn" when you place a phone order lol Egg rolls are great Their pho is great

Karen M.

Yelp
Food wise it was ok-seemed a little disorganized and the next morning we were notified that our credit card had been used elsewhere-someone had copied the number-coincidence? Who knows?
google avatar

Karen Y.

Yelp
I came here on a Saturday night after walking the marina with my husband and it was packed inside and out with consistent take out orders and guests eating there. We sat in a little corner and had a great meal. I got the vermicelli bowl with pork and egg roll and my husband got the bun bo hue. We also got a spring roll appetizer and it was super fresh. I love how they didn't add bean sprouts in the spring roll because it makes it taste "unwashed" to me. I liked my vermicelli bowl a lot since the veggies were fresh and clean and their fish sauce had lots of flavor. My husband said his bun bo hue was ok but his favorite spot in Oakland. Ambiance was clean and neat with inside and outside seating. There is a parking lot with plenty of parking in the front. I plan on coming back and ordering platters for when I throw birthday parties!
google avatar

Shellyann Marie A.

Yelp
Came here for pick up and the garlic noodles did not disappoint. The male staff worker over the phone was very friendly. He greeted us in person with a big smile. Great service. I wanted to try these noodles before I order a whole tray for some events I have coming up. Say less . These noodles were it! Delicious!
google avatar

Jane M.

Yelp
I had a great experience here. Very nice staff, fast service and delicious meal. I ordered a banh mi with beef and added a fried egg. The flavor was on point and the bread was super fresh and crispy outside. Just perfect. I also got Thai tea which was excellent. You won't be disappointed!
google avatar

Daniel L.

Yelp
Such a home-y feel to the restaurant, and the quantity of food for the price is unmatched in THIS ECONOMY. This will be my go-to viet place whenever I'm craving pho or any noodles.
google avatar

Jose Manuel C.

Yelp
Met up with the squad, apparently this was halfway for us. This place is not set up in a western way, the staff doesn't take the order at the table. Don't see this as a complaint, see it as a set up. You grab a menu and go to counter to order, picture a fast food counter but you save what you order from the menu instead of the screen. The beef pho is amazing!!!!! So was the spring rolls and the Korean bbq style ribs were delightful. Left super full, prices were reasonable, would recommend and return. It's packed on Sunday lunch so give yourself time to get a table.

Yelp
Food: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Price: 4/5 My favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the San Leandro area! It's a small, cozy mom & pop shop. The owner and staff are incredibly nice and sweet. Whenever I'm craving viet food or a taste of home, I'd come here to grab a bite to eat. It does get quite busy during lunch time but it's never too long of a wait. Saigon House is also a great place to cater food if you're having a party -- they offer party trays of their most popular items like banh mi, nem noung rolls, chicken wings, etc. Every time I've ordered catering, it's always been a huge hit amongst my friends :) The Cha Gio (egg rolls) & Fried Shrimp Rolls are really good. They're super crispy and the filling in the egg roll is really good. They also use a pretty big shrimp for the shrimp rolls. The Nem Nuong rolls are my favorite things on the menu. The nem nuong is sweet, savory, and fatty. The pickled radish and carrots and veggies balance out the meat; and the best part is the fried wonton wrapper inside -- gives it such a nice crunch. The peanut hoison sauce is also really good too. The pho here is nice an comforting -- broth is flavorful and hearty. Great to get a bowl when I'm missing home or too lazy to make it myself. Always hits the spot. (tip for extra umami, ask for a bowl of nuoc beo which is a scallion beef fat, to add to your broth. it makes the soup extra rich)

Sandra R.

Yelp
The sweetest and nicest Vietnamese on earth!!! They catered our training with their amazing Bahn Mi (pork, chicken and beef) all so delicious and flavorful! And their spring rolls, which were so amazing as well. They accommodated me with some small changes due to some of the participants food request! They're so nice and loving! Highly recommend this place

Yelp
Nice local restaurant that we eat at pretty frequently. The combo pho and my quang are my favorites and the food is always high quality with a good price and volume.

Yelp
I was influenced by a recent YouTube review to pay a visit. I had eaten here years ago and wasn't impressed which is quite unfair. So I will try to make amend. So nested in the Washington Manor area strip mall resides this restaurant run by Chinese Vietnamese family. The man behind the counter spoke Vietnamese, English and Cantonese which I am envious of that ability. On this occasion, I ordered the spring roll, beef rib noodle soup and Vietnamese coffee. The cooked and roll came out quickly. The roll is fairly priced but a bit on the skinny side. Despite the size, the rolls were satisfying with dip in the accompanying hoisin peanut butter sauce. The coffee had the strong sweet flavor. When the beef rib soup arrived. It had a humongous bone that is quite a sight. Very nice. It was tender, and the meat was falling off the bone and plenty. I can't believe I had finished everything. It was better than I thought. The food is fairly priced, portion was appropriate, service was friendly and delivery was properly paced, and of course, flavor was good. I will be back.

abigail m.

Yelp
The place is just ok. The guy was nice, probably the owner. Place is over decorated and cluttered looking. Feels like someone's house. The food wasn't impressive. We didn't get the extra condiments we asked for. They didn't check if we needed anything else.
google avatar

Garrie P.

Yelp
Our go-to when we're craving viet food. They're a small restaurant with limited seating, but people usually eat and leave rather quickly. We also love coming here for their party trays! Food is delicious and affordable. Service is quick. Who doesn't love a little mom and pop shop for some cozy viet food?
google avatar

Devon R.

Yelp
i have been craving a simple chicken pho for ages and this hit the spot. the woman who took our order was very sweet and accommodating, and the outdoor seating was exactly what we needed. if you want something authentic you can tell you'd get it here!

Momma K.

Yelp
This is my go to spot when I want Pho. The broth is always soothing. The older gentleman and lady at the counter are always friendly when I've gone. I've never eaten there but the space, although small, has some decor and is clean.
google avatar

Yaz R.

Yelp
Ordered here multiple times and NEVER DISAPPOINTED!!! Food & Service was EXCELLENT!! Definitely will order here again!
google avatar

Aiza C.

Yelp
The service was amazing and the vibes are so cute. The place is small but not too small and it just feels like home u know. It was very comforting! The pho was very fatty and it was just too fatty so I couldn't eat it... the food is ok... The chicken fried rice was ok, also too fatty and oily..... Service was very very nice!
google avatar

Gina H.

Yelp
So happy I found a pho shop that has AC! We came on a pretty hot day but luckily the restaurant was cool inside. They also have outdoor seating! I ordered the bun bo hue and my friends ordered the combination pho. My bowl was good but definitely not the best. I tried the pho broth and it was pretty good, way better than my bowl. Overall the food I would rate 4/5, but the pricing is 5/5. The noodles were only about $12 a bowl which is such a good price in today's economy..
google avatar

Yelp
Love the food everything is good there Fast service my family and I don't have to wait long. They are very.

Yelp
Can't go wrong with Saigon House. You'll definitely be back for more. I was hooked after having this at a friend's house and went the following day.

Yelp
San Leandro, I'm not an expert here, only stop by once in a while when working down in the South Bay. Above average on pho dac biet, banh mi, cafe sua da, goi cuon. Nice Vietnamese Chinese owner! Will be back!
