"Following its 2021 win of $1 million in funding, this colorful Vietnamese fast-casual restaurant known for its banh mi made with fresh bread officially opened its second location in Spring Branch on Monday, October 11. Saigon Hustle, which features a drive-thru, offers Vietnamese cuisine in a fast, convenient, and modern way, with staples like spring rolls, salads, and bowls. Thanks to its larger kitchen, the Spring Branch location will serve pho — a first for the restaurant." - Brittany Britto Garley

I've been meaning to post this since last week. I normally order from the Garden Oaks location, but I recently found out the Spring Branch location had opened up, and I was closer, so I decided to try. What a MAJOR difference. First, I thought they had added cheese to the vermicelli bowls. The peanuts were completely untoasted. Second, I ordered extra peanut sauce, and did not get it. It's the best part of the spring rolls, but none for me I guess. Third, I didn't actually get extra vermicelli noodles. The Garden Oaks location PACKS the bowl well I get extra vermicelli noodles. This looks like the normal amount. Also, there was not extra lettuce. Fourth, the extra vinaigrette sauce had peanuts in it and less peppers? Fifth, the spring rolls were rolled onto the fried shallots. I have an allergy to the shallots, which is why I asked them to be removed from the bowl. But I guess they just decided to add them to the spring rolls instead. Sixth, the ribeye was thick and tough. It was hard to get a good mixture of bites. Seventh, there were no chopsticks included. Eighth, when I called to try and get it fixed, someone said, "You should talk to Jesse," and then I was passed to someone and the phone hung up. So I guess they didn't care to fix it? Overall, this made me regret not ordering from the Garden Oaks location like I normally do. If you want to try Saigon Hustle, just drive the extra mileage and go to that one. Plus they ran this special for buy one get one free, but it looks like I still paid the full price.

Saigon Hustle is definitely a more modern Vietnamese-style restaurant. The atmosphere is great with really bright lights. The music is loud inside and out. Their food is pretty good and clean. Although it is a little scary to go there at night due to its location on a smaller street and is really dark around the building.

My group and I tried several menu items and everyone loved it. It was so good we forgot to take pictures of most of it because we devoured it so fast! Vermicelli bowl with pork was amazing! Delicious food and friendly staff. This will definitely be our new regular spot!

Google
Food was so good! The banh mi was very large. Portions were good. Egg rolls and chicken wings were my fav and the ribeye banh mi. We also had a chicken bowl and my son loved the chicken.

Google
Cute Vietnamese restaurant in the memorial area. The food is delicious. We had the ABC soup and vermicelli bowl with pork. Both dishes were flavorful and filling. I will be coming back. We came on a cool day and enjoyed sitting outside. I wish I had taken a picture of my food before I ate it to show the nice presentation.

I was on a coffee run when I saw the restaurant on the corner of my eye. It was very aesthetically pleasing so I drove in. I didn't dine in because I had errands so I went through the drive thru. The Vietnamese coffee was very good, you can really taste the condensed milk. I also saw crepes on the menu so I ordered it. It's basically a Banh Xeo (Vietnamese crepe) spring roll. Whoever thought of this concept is a genius cuz Banh Xeo can get messy & this is all wrapped up nicely. It's pretty tasty, I'm glad I got it. It's not crispy at all, FYI because it's wrapped in rice paper but the flavor & even the fish sauce that came with it was refreshing & on par.

Extremely underwhelming. I was excited to try this place since it was new. Ordered a pork sandwich, rib eye sandwich, hustler roll, and shrimp/pork roll. I kept my expectations low since I know it is spring branch, but cmon $6 per spring roll, and $10 per banh mi? 1.) ribeye banh mi tasted like dry old meat that has been marinating in powdered tenderizer. This was probably the worst banh mi I have ever had in my life. 2.) pork banh mi was not warm, just tasted cold. Nothing exciting here. 3.) both of my roll orders were rolled messily. Food did not just taste fresh. Which I get since this is a fast casual concept. But for $6 a roll I expect a little more. There are tons of great banh mi shops in Houston that use better bread, ingredients and are priced fairly (Don’s Cafe, Vina Bakery, Mai Baguette, Nguyen Ngo 2, Alpha Bakery, Bo Ne). If you live in the Spring Branch area I would skip this place and try Pho Saigon Gessner, Pho Quynh inside of 99 ranch, or Roostar. I’ll change my review if they update their quality. But for now, I wont be coming back. Good idea, just poor execution.

Google
Love this new place in Spring Branch! Amazing wings, decent Pho, superb Thai tea! The atmosphere is modern, bright and fun with a nice outdoor covered patio. All in all a great trip in our corner of Houston.

Yelp
We had a great experience! The best grilled pork spring rolls that I've had in Houston

David W.

Yelp
Best pho-- Amazing tasting broth! The pork banh mi is nicely packed with pork and veg and now I am looking forward to their wings and some sides for alSuper Bowl Sunday!

Ray J.

Yelp
It was good, I really like their banh mi ! I would suggest the pork banh mi with their Thai tea. Will go back soon!

Faith C.

Yelp
This location is very different than the heights ! Decor wise the same. This one offers pho and it's delicious. Love this one.

Yelp
Solid Pho spot that will satisfy the craving you're having. I dined in on a Sunday around noon and the staff was friendly. The restaurant is small and cute with a nice beachy vibe and some outdoor seating. I had: Beef Pho which had meatball, round, and brisket. (they don't have size options and they only had one option that came with the 3 meats mentioned) - the broth was flavorful and pretty clear. The one portion size they had was perfect for me and was definitely more of a medium portion. Noodles were perfectly cooked. The eye round was sliced thicker than you usually find at other spots. Brisket was nice and the meatball was also nice and bouncy. $13+change for the pho is a little higher than usual but the flavor was worth it compared to the other pho spots in spring branch, or lack thereof. 8/10 Shrimp and pork spring rolls. For $9+ for two spring rolls, I won't be getting them again. The vermicelli was overcooked and the pork was not like your typical pork ham. It was thicker slices of very dry pork. The peanut sauce on the side was very thick and salty, great taste but got overwhelming quickly. Overall, for the price and taste, I give these a 6/10. Passion fruit tea. Tasty and refreshing. A bit on the sweeter side, but the ice dilutes it for me so it works out great. 8/10 Other bits: They don't have chili oil. As far as condiments go, they have sambal, sriracha, and hoisin. I'll definitely return for the pho and maybe try out their bahn mi or vermicelli bowls. $36.79 including tip. Steep yes, but I'll save myself about $10 opting out of the spring rolls

Yelp
My favorite item was the crispy wings! The salmon spring rolls were good, I'm just not a fan of salmon with peanut sauce. The banh mì was pretty good as well! It def had more meat than veggies and the pork was full of flavor. The salad was okay. The fried tofu was also okay but it was cold when i tried it but maybe it's better when warm? I noticed it was very well seasoned. The Ube drinks were good!! It didn't taste like it was made from powder. The Che Thai was a bit too sweet for my liking, but even you add ice, it levels out the sweetness! Saigon Hustle is a Vietnamese fast food concept, so the restaurant is small but has a decent sized outdoor seating area. It also gives off 70s local diner vibes. Except food is healthier than a typical American fast food chain. I came during a Yelp event but I'm sure the service is normally quick like a fast food restaurant.

Yelp
One of many lunch spots around Houston. This restaurant is one that will always be a good sit down lunch spot where you can work freely on your laptop ect. The service is always amazing! Food and atmosphere is super hip! I always order their Vermicelli Ribeye with an egg roll. The Ribeye is sliced thin and marinated well in their signature sauce. Slightly sweet yet tangy!! They have the best vegetarian eggrolls! Far better than their pork! Super crunch and when dipped in their sauce, blows me out of the park!! You can expect plenty of parking during their lunch hours! Go and check this place out !

Yelp
Nut allergy warning: Several dishes do have nuts, such as a peanut sauce used for the spring roll, and the salad. I'm not the biggest fan of the banh mi at Saigon Hustle, but they're a great spot for Vietnamese appetizers and one of the only spots in this area that make a che Thai. They also offer other products like coffee that have basis in Vietnam. They are pricy, but I'm happy to have them as an option here!

Valerie L.

Yelp
Ordered beef pho for take out. They didn't give me any vegetables (aka Thai basil, beansprouts, or lime). They need to change their pho noodle brand because it is messing up their broth and making it sour. Their broth already isn't great to begin with. I tried it before mixing it in with the noodles. Very bland. If you regularly eat pho, you will be disappointed here. :( I don't even think pho huy is that great but much better than here. Should have listened to the bad reviews.

Jarek M.

Yelp
Fast, generous, and tasty. Service and atmosphere: Spot on! Friendly and fast service. Clean and modern restaurant. Nice seating area both inside and outside. This restaurant offers drive through as well. Food and drinks: Very good selection of traditional dishes such as vermicelli or pho. Of course there is more to choose from. All dishes came in fast, were plentiful, very tasty, and nicely plated. They offer soft drinks and teas. I would recommend their tea that is strong and delicious. Pricing: $$ well worth it for sure!

Yelp
I wanted to get dinner Friday night and immediately thought of Saigon Hustle. They were out of bahn mi bread so sandwiches were out. I ordered wings, a bowl with pork and another with chicken. The wings were good but the skin was a little chewy. It was the perfect level of spice. I asked for additional chili sauce for the bowls. The bowls were very good. We shared all the food between 4 people. The drive thru is very convenient but tiny, the food was fast and very tasty.

Yelp
Another welcome addition to the neighborhood. I appreciate how much they kept the original footprint from the building and turned it into something new. Plenty of character from the design as you look into the restaurant. Good bit of seating inside and outside with a Drive Thru as well. For dine in guests you just order inside at the counter. The menu is not overstuffed, streamlined to the favorites of Vietnamese food in the city. Including Pho on the menu is something new compared to their original location. My banh mi was solid, banh mi's are the GOAT of the sandwich game though. My wife and daughter shared a massive bowl of pho, and since they didn't leave much behind I think they liked it. Price is right in the middle as far as Viet food goes. More expensive than your neighborhood spot, but not crazy high like other places like to creep up to.

Min L.

Yelp
The cashier brought our food out and his thumb dipped in to the pho soup bowl. Who knows where his hands have been touching. Yuck, please learn how to properly serve a bowl of noodle soup...go to Pho Dien, Pho Saigon, or Pho Sapa and watch them handle a bowl of pho without dipping their finger(s) into someone's broth. Also, watch their centers of operational excellence. Some of these pho restaurants provide amazing service for half the price. The entree portions were smaller than other eatery spots, but a lot of restaurants are beginning to reduce their serving sizes due to increased supply costs. The meats were super salty and burnt, not well marinated with little flavor. The vegetables looked pretty fresh and the fish sauce, as well as the vinaigrette sauce was good. The prices are higher than most Vietnamese restaurants, so you might be better off going to your local joints. The restaurant space and concept is nice, but unfortunately operations had missed executions on many levels. We ended up driving to Bellaire to find redemption and got some Vietnamese eats to make up for this lackluster experience. IYKYK. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bellaire_Boulevard

Yelp
Business is finally open, and I couldn't be happier to welcome a new Vietnamese restaurant to the neighborhood! We had been eagerly waiting to see what would move into this spot, and it's such a pleasant surprise to have a cozy pho place right here. As a Vietnamese food enthusiast, I love that this spot offers both great food and a fun, laid-back vibe--perfect for hanging out. They offer a variety of dishes. We tried the beef pho and the grilled pork banh mi. The pho had a light, flavorful broth that wasn't too heavy, with portions that felt just right. My husband really enjoyed the banh mi, noting how refreshing it was with crisp, fresh ingredients. We also appreciated the generous mayo, which added just the right amount of richness. The space itself is charming, with plenty of natural light and lots of seating. The whimsical murals inside and out had give the place a bright and playful touch that makes it feel welcoming. I also love that they offer a drive-through, which will definitely come in handy when the weather gets colder. I'm already looking forward to making this a regular stop. Highly recommend checking it out!

Yelp
Well guys this place for sure is a new gem to the spring branch area. Not only do they serve great foods like their super Crunchy sauced wings but delicious desserts! They have DRIVE THRU!!!! The service is so friendly and impeccable, the place is so tropical vibe you can't help but feel relaxed! The owners are female entrepreneurs trying to show off the yummy Vietnamese cuisine to the folks around them. Definitely a great place to get anything from Bahn mi, wings, even some fabulous fried tofu!!! I loved every minute of savoring their food. I will be back soon yall!!!

Mary W.

Yelp
It was probably a bad idea to first try Saigon Hustle on the day they were celebrating the Year of the Dragon. The restaurant was overrun with people and cars. Picking up our to go order was rather chaotic. I ordered egg rolls which tasted fine but had been left in the fryer a bit too long, rendering them a very dark brown. My husband's Pork Vermicelli Bowl was very good. In the future, though, we'll probably frequent Pho Huy for their excellent versions of what we had at a more affordable price.

Ananya S.

Yelp
Won't return. There are way better places for pho. They only have two options - I got the chicken which was only breast meat and extremely stringy and chewy. Broth was fine. They messed up our drink orders after first forgetting to even put them in (even though we were charged). So we didn't even get our incorrect drinks until halfway through our meal. So basically the service is not good. My friend got the vermicelli and the noodles were cold. She didn't mind but I've never been served cold vermicelli before. The place is clean at least, and there is plenty of parking. But I'd rather go anywhere else for pho. Try Pho I-10 by 99 Ranch Market - it's way better!

Jackie L.

Yelp
Another great Vietnamese food option to have in the Spring Branch area. I love that they are not skimping on the fresh herbs and vegetables. I found the proteins were well seasoned, marinated, with great char marks. However, the reason why I gave it three stars that the vermicelli noodles were so over cooked, it was almost slimey. It really was quite unappetizing for me. The cooks need to learned how to do this right. I read in other reviews I was not the only customer who felt the same way. I am going to come back again, just staying away from the vermicelli noodles.

Shawn A.

Yelp
Very cute place. Food's not good and sauces are way too sweet. Traditional Pho places are much better and way cheaper. Pho Huy a couple miles away better tasting and less expensive. Banh Mi preserved carrots tastes like sugar. The spring roll orange sauce super sweet. Bodards restaurant does it perfectly. Pho had an off taste and meat balls too fatty. Roosters Banh Mi better. Has better flavors.

John N.

Yelp
Came here for a yelp event and it was wonderful. They provide so many Vietnamese treats and there was nothing I didn't like. The banh mi was nice and crispy and filled to the bribe with meat and veggies. And there had unique dishes like banh xeo spring roll which I've never seen in any other restaurant. Definitely give this place a try if you're craving Vietnamese food.

Alberto G.

Yelp
I stopped in for a quick to-go ordered but enjoyed the interior while I waited. It's cute and spacious inside with a nice outdoor patio dining area. I ordered the chicken salad and it was delicious. Exactly what I would've expected in a Vietnamese salad. So tasty. The food was ready quick and the staff was friendly. Would definitely eat here again.

Alice F.

Yelp
Love the menu options! The banh mis are wonderful. The soups are very flavorable. I enjoyed the Saigon Cinnamon iced coffee. So far everything that I have had is very good. I look forward to trying more. And the service has been exceptional as well!

Maleni L.

Yelp
Food was good but over priced. Service was awful. What ever you do don't show up 20 minutes before close for Togo/pick up! They won't be so friendly

Amanda S.

Yelp
My husband and I decided to try the establishment yesterday. There was no one in there but us. We ordered banh mi, the barbecue beef one and the Honey soy chicken one. They both were very disappointing. The bun was like a store-bought bun And in regards to taste and appearance, you couldn't tell the chicken one from the beef one. It was the least favorite bahn mi I have ever taste both were below average. I took one bite of each and refused to eat the rest because they were so subpar and I did not want to waste my appetite. The bread was not crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I tried the wings and they were okay. My husband and I left the establishment and went to another Vietnamese establishment to get some other bahn mi sandwiches in which the meat was much better and the bread was excellent. I would not recommend this place at all for their sandwiches. They really were a one out of five for their bahn mi. The only thing authentic about it was the toppings. In regards to the establishment it was very clean and there were no issues with customer service. The truth is they get a hard no on their Vietnamese sandwiches.

Lexie O.

Yelp
It's so overpriced. meat was so thick and hard to chew. i got food poisoning from the food if i could give no stars i would. definitely don't recommend.

Britt M.

Yelp
Great experience! Fresh Vietnamese food and they have a drive-thru, much needed in Houston! The wings were my favorite, very flavorful and crispy. Paired with the taro milk tea was a perfect snack. Can't wait to come back and enjoy their patio.

Sandy T.

Yelp
We got the pho and chicken and pork banh MIs. Everything was delicious! Pho meat was super tender and tasty. Banh mis were huge and generously packed with delicious meat and veggies! Definitely satisfied our appetites!

Just T.

Yelp
The banh mi was pretty solid but it and the rest of the menu leans overpriced. The banh mi seems to be more mayo than Viet butter. The meat quality and cooking of it is better than most banh mi places. The pickled shredded carrots and daikon standout positively as having a strong vinegar flavor. I appreciate that Saigon Hustle is looking to popularize banh mi to folks who normally do not get Asian food. However growing up on a few other banh mi restaurants in Chinatown and this location also being close to two other restaurants that offer banh mi in Memorial, I don't think the value-to-quality is quite there yet. It's been open less than a month, so hopefully the menu will get better to be a more competitive offering.

David B.

Yelp
best banh mi in houston !!! but the great news is that for lunar new year they are having a combo special thru feb. 9th (end of lny) and it is called the lunar new year combo, which includes 1 full banh mi plus 1 small soup plus 1 drink for just $12.99 which is about $8 off their regular price! so if you're a regular patron, make an extra trip just to catch a great bargain...and if you've never been it's a great way to sample their spectacular food !!! but remember this is only until 2/9 so hustle to saigon hustle !!!

Jesse L.

Yelp
The food was fresh, the service was informative and prompt, and I loved their pork banh mi! Feel like it's one of the largest banh mi's I've had in the city and you definitely taste the chargrill on the pork. Seating has accommodations for both small and large parties as well as outside seating on their patio. Would definitely recommend!

Shauna S.

Yelp
Are you kidding me with this pho?! I mean, there isn't anything from Saigon Hustle that I don't love. But tonight, the Chicken Pho and and the Hustler Roll hit different. Like a hug. I. Could. Cry. The cashier was warm and friendly and the whole place was buzzing with humans. See you tomorrow.

Kim R.

Yelp
We got the hustler roll, the beef pho, egg rolls and salmon bahn mi, salmon roll.. all DELICIOUS!!

Sandy N.

Yelp
Me and my husband came for their opening on 10/11 because we saw $5 banh mi on Instagram being advertised (chicken or pork only). We ordered: -1 pork banh mi : 8/10 ($7 added egg) personally I did like this banh mi, the pork was flavorful and portion was big, either the bread was too dry but it would not hold the banh mi, just fell apart. -1 chicken banh mi : 2/10 ($7 added egg) Me and my husband absolutely hated this one. We just threw it away. The chicken had no flavor?? Which is wild to me. And it just didn't taste good at all. -4 eggrolls :10/10 ($10) The eggrolls came with fish sauce for dipping, I think they have either veggie or pork eggrolls and we got the pork. It's FANTASTIC. They were super crispy, hot, super tasteful. -6 extra spicy wings: 3/10 ($10, 50 cents for extra spicy) It wasn't spicy. I was given options yet it was sweet? So I'm just confused because what's the point of the options when we were given basically some sweet heat wings. 4/6 of the wings had broken bones, so that also made them hard to eat, we were just spitting out shards of bones. -2 fountain drinks ($3.50 each for a small fountain drink) -1 Taiwan lychee beer $9 Truly a great beer. HOWEVER, on the menu right above the counter it stated $6.95, when I asked why it was not the price on the menu above the cashier said "it's an imported beer so those are $9 and the regular beers are $7"... which I do understand but still that's annoying for one price to be shown but charged another. So I would recommend changing that. Overall: food ig is kinda a hit or miss. Like I said, the pork banh mi, eggrolls, and beer was great. It was my first and will be my last time trying this Vietnamese place. I spent over $50 for super mid food. If you're wanting to know a better Vietnamese restaurant I would recommend Com Tam #9, anything Bellaire

Jeff R.

Yelp
Great food! Great customer service! Great atmosphere! Hustler spring rolls and egg rolls were on point with great sauces... beef pho and salmon baun mi was excellent!

Fmd H.

Yelp
Found out about this place via Culture Map...it was delicious. Beef pho and vermicelli bowl was fantastic. Fried egg rolls were very good. Manager Treated us to complimentary wings...oh Mama! We'll be back for sure.

Mary A.

Yelp
I just visited Saigon Hustle for the first time. I used their drive through which was very convenient since I was running errands. The fried egg rolls were delicious and the rib eye banh mi huge and tasty. My only complaint would be that the bread was somewhat soft and not crispy. I suspect it had been assembled earlier which would explain the speed I was served. Maybe a minute. I will definitely try again.

Shani M.

Yelp
The food came out super quick, the vibe was great, and you got plenty for the price! Staff was so helpful and kind!

Cullen W.

Yelp
Ordered the Chicken Pho and delivered through DoorDash. The Pho was great....the broth was especially delicious! Thoughtful delivery packaging and presentation. Food was piping hot and all the utensils needed to enjoy pho were included. Excited to go in person and try the rest of the menu!
