"My first Saigon NV order was at 8:25 on a Sunday night, when every delivery option I could think of was already closed. Saigon NV was one of the first still-open spots to pop up on a delivery app — but only taking orders for another five minutes — so I basically closed my eyes and clicked. Well, now I’m obsessed with Saigon NV and with bun dac biet in general. It’s got everything: grilled shrimp, grilled pork, egg roll, and deep-fried shrimp paste wrapped in bean curd skin, served with lettuce, basil, bean sprouts, peanuts, a big pile of vermicelli, and fish sauce. I should probably branch out and try some other dishes from Vietnamese restaurants, but now I almost always order this. —Rachel Leah Blumenthal" - Rachel Leah Blumenthal, Terrence Doyle, Nathan Tavares, Karen Wilber

"Ceviche (and more) at Celeste; bún đặc biệt from Saigon NV Celeste, 21 Bow St., Union Square, Somerville; Saigon NV, 381 Main St., Malden. One of my favorite meals of the week was actually a frantic last-minute order. I landed on Saigon NV, which was entirely new to me, and since ordering closed in three minutes, I quickly picked the bún đặc biệt, basically a feast over vermicelli: grilled shrimp, grilled pork, egg roll, and deep-fried shrimp paste wrapped in bean curd skin, served with lettuce, basil, bean sprouts, and peanuts, with fish sauce. I absolutely loved it, and now I think I’m on a mission to try every bún đặc biệt in the city." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

This is my new favorite restaurant. Food is authentic Vietnamese and my tastebuds love this place. Their pork is something I don’t even have words to describe it. Highly recommended. It’s definitely bang for buck.

We really enjoyed a delicious hot pho soup in this cozy little viettnames restaurant. In this cold winter days, a tasty hot bowl of soup can give one a new life. They welcomed us with a warm tea. Unlike some other places I must say, the portion of beef was generously large and more than enough for one person.

Google
I just had the beef & shrimp spring rolls and the vermicelli—and honestly, I'm blown away. The flavors were unbelievable—fresh, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully balanced. The spring rolls had the perfect texture, and the vermicelli bowl was vibrant, hearty, and so satisfying. Hands down one of the best Vietnamese meals I’ve had in the area. If you're in Malden and haven’t tried Saigon NV yet, you’re missing out. A hidden gem with incredible food. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Google

Google
Very tasty broth!! When it cold pho is a good idea. The space quite small and little hard to walk if you big. But Ok for me. It would be 5 if they organize or hide the use dish and bucket of noodle. After all it is one of my favorite Pho place to get!

If you love Vietnamese Cuisine then Saigon NV is the place to be! I have been coming here for years with friends and family and it is always consistent in that Authentic Delicious Vietnamese flavor poured into everything they serve. The Pho is absolutely the best around and it seems everyone feels the same because the place is always packed. The servers are very friendly and work so hard to make sure your order is just right! They have comfortable seating that seats about 46 people with cozy warm atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable with good size portions. Definitely a place you don’t want to pass up if you are in the mood for authentic Vietnamese food 🥘 I highly recommend!

Google
Worst experience at a restaurant ever. Avoid this place AT ALL COST. I entered around 8:05pm. They threw the menu on the table. Then, did not give me water, until they served a later customer. I ordered two items: F5 (catfish) and A3S (spring roll). The catfish item was highlighted in a picture on their menu. Staff DID NOT inform me that the catfish will take long. I have waited for 30min and it is still not served. Then I have decided to leave, which is when they finally served it. The staff tried to fool me by saying “that’s why I told you it will take 20min+” but he did not say this earlier!! I could not take it any more and left the food their for their shame paid the money (that’s what they want I guess). It is already 8:40pm (as indicated on the receipt)!!!!

Yelp
Rating: 4/5 Stars Alright, so Saigon NV definitely gives you a taste of Vietnam right here in Boston. As a Vietnamese native, I gotta say, they're keeping it real with their dishes. Now, let's talk about the Pho and spring rolls. They were decent, but I was kinda hoping for that extra punch of flavor, you know? They needed a little something extra to make them stand out. But hold up, their Bun Bo Hue? That's where they shine. It's like a trip back to the streets of Vietnam with those pork blood cubes and pork hock. Authenticity level? Pretty darn high. However, the broth could use a bit more sweetness, and those noodles were a tad too firm for my liking. Oh, and where's the shredded cabbage or lettuce on the side? That's a must for that authentic touch. As for the vibe, yeah, it's not fancy. It's more like walking into your grandma's kitchen - cozy and a bit worn, but that just adds to the whole experience. Overall, Saigon NV hits the spot if you're craving some legit Vietnamese grub. Sure, they've got a few tweaks to make, but I'd definitely swing by again for another taste of home. --------------------- My Star Rating Scale: 5 Stars: Blew my mind, had a wow factor, will come back 4 Stars: I liked it but didn't love it, no wow factor, will still come back 3 Stars: It was okay, I didn't hate it but didn't like it either; would not voluntarily come back 2 Stars: I did not like it, I would not come back 1 Star: Absolutely hated it, I would not come back here

Yelp
Spring shrimp roll very fresh and delicious. Shrimp vermicelli scallion, basil and hint of mint rolled up in rice wrapper served room temp. Which it is suppose to be. I. I tried the sweet and sour soup which I have had at different restaurants. Soup of vegetables, tofu, bamboo shoots and pineapple chunks. Refreshing on a Spring day delicious broth. My personal taste is more pineapple please.

Woo K.

Yelp
Small restaurant. Smelled great walking in. Not the cleanest or fanciest place, but the food was ok. Spring rolls were pretty plain and bland. The pho wasn't bad. Broth had flavor. Not toooo deep of flavor. But definitely satisfied a craving. The meatballs and meat in the pho was eh. Overall. Not bad. Hit the spot if you desperately need it.

Yelp
Have to start off with extremely generous portions and very decently priced. Staff is always friendly, love a family run business. Very flavorful and my food is always hot!! I drive out of the way from Cambridge to come and get Vietnamese food from here. It's street parking and meter parking, but parking is generally easy to find. Must try!!!

Yelp
Ordered thru Uber eats, so factoring that (delivery time, take out vs dine in) into this. Got quite a bit of food and was decently surprised by most of it! Was also so hungry that I forgot to take pictures of most of it, oops Grilled beef spring rolls: 8/10- good, only wished they didn't put peanuts directly in it or at least marked it on the description. Banh xeo: 6/10- admittedly I have high standards for banh xeo coming from the Bay Area, and this is also probably something that shouldn't sit for too long before eating as it was a bit oily and soggy--however I wouldn't blame this on the restaurant since my delivery took over 30 min. However, I was a bit confused to see giant thick chunks of pork which were tough to get around and wrap. I also wish they provided more greens for wrapping. Pho tai: 7.5/10 run of the mill, a little on the sweet side but no major complaints Grilled pork vermicelli bowl: 8/10- really enjoyed the nuoc mam sauce! Pork was slightly burnt in places but good flavor.

Jerrick C.

Yelp
Solid 4 stars Came here the other day for some Pho. The place was PACKED and they only had two people waiting tables and taking care of take out orders. Needless to say, the service was painfully slow and I was in there for over 2 hours. Despite the slow but friendly service, the food was delicious. This was some great Pho. The inside of the place is kind of hole-in-the-wall, but sometimes those are the best places. I'll definitely be back. Service: 3/5 Food: 5/5 Ambience: 4/5

Jack D.

Yelp
The best pho I've ever had! And the price is reasonable too. Close to the Malden Center.

Yelp
The BEST pho restaurant in the area! A small local restaurant that serves comforting Vietnamese food! They keep getting better each time I visit! Bún bò Huế is a must try for anyone wanting to elevate their pho pallet! It is so much better than the regular Phở Tái and I love it because the broth is a little more flavorful and a little bit spicy! The red broth is the Bún bò Huế and the clear brown broth is the Phở Tái. I like that this place lets you choose a size from small, medium to large. We both got the small size and it was so filling for us! Lots of meat and lots of noodles comes with the soup. The grilled pork spring roll is incredibly flavorful and I love the peanut pieces in the sauce. Service was a little slow they were very busy but they didn't have a lot of servers. But overall our food arrived promptly and we were very satisfied with our experience!

Patricia Y.

Yelp
I don't know why this restaurant is only rated at 3.5 stars- it's a small, no-frills, family-run restaurant that serves DELICIOUS pho. We got a small and a large and both were packed with noodles and meat. The broth was delicious, if only a touch on the oily side. An affordable, great-tasting meal!

Teddy L.

Yelp
This establishment's quality can be quite inconsistent. While I frequent it primarily for the bun bo hue, my experiences have varied greatly. Sometimes, the dish is excellent, but on other occasions, it's simply inedible. There have been instances where the broth lacked flavor and the noodles were severely undercooked, while other times the noodles were overcooked. Despite these inconsistencies, the service is generally satisfactory, and the food is served promptly.

Cheyenne T.

Yelp
Some of the best pho broth in the Boston area! I got the meatball pho and while I didn't love the meatballs, the broth was extremely flavorful and had so much depth in its flavor. My boyfriend got the bun bo hue which was excellent too!

Winnie Z.

Yelp
NV Saigon offers delicious food. My favorite is their vermicelli with grilled pork & egg roll and fresh spring rolls with shrimp. Their fresh coconut juice with pulp is ultra refreshing! When hubby feels under the weather, he gets chicken rice porridge, an excellent alternative to chicken soup.

Josh C.

Yelp
Some of the best Vietnamese food I have ever had. Best Pho Soup I have ever had too. Very nice family business as well.

John M.

Yelp
Great vermicelli salad with grilled pork but the egg rolls in it tasted a bit off. Luckily everything else tasted fine and the delivery service was spot on with the food arriving hot.

Jennifer T.

Yelp
This is a quick casual spot for Vietnamese food. Food was solid. No complaints as everything tasted as expected. I got the Grilled Pork Vermicelli and it was grilled nicely. Service was super slow and we were missing things at our table. We came here pretty late in the night so not sure if it's better during the day.

Lein And Bein N.

Yelp
This is a no-fuss Vietnamese institution with simple and delicious dishes. The atmosphere is a little grungy but that's how you know the food is good. The banh xeo was crispy and we would come back for this. They are very generous with portions. The restaurant can get quite busy, so, service could be improved. Great spot for a quick lunch. 3/5.

Anish K.

Yelp
A comparatively medium sized restaurant with overall seating for probably around 50 pax (~15 tables). We went for a late weekday lunch at 3pm and the place was still 50% occupied which was a good sign. There is plently of variety in the menu and lot of options to choose from. Mostly non-vegetarian. They also have varying soup bowl sizes to choose from based on one's appetite. I felt the regular size soup bowl was just adequate for 1, especially if you are not ordering anything else. The extra large soup bowl will definitely fill you up. We got two soup bowls, 1 per person. A beef soup bowl and a seafood rice noodle soup (item#C2 on the menu). The rice Noodle soups although clear were decently spiced with herbs and were delicious. They also have sauces (soy and siracha) on the table. The Vietnamese hot coffee prepared with condensed milk was strong, but a bit watered down and served in a disposable cup with a soda drink lid (not sure if this was the regular practice or just our server's idea to serve hot coffee in a soda cup!). Lowering 1 star on the review for the service. Our server seemed a bit disinterested in serving us and more keen on the world cup football running on the TVs. Won't blame him as the game was interesting, but our table was missing sauce plates and chopsticks and it took him a while to get his attention and also to get the coffee. Hardly any follow up after the food was served and we had to head to the counter to get our checks. Anyways the food was good, so would definitely come back to try more from the menu. There is plently of parking space around the restaurant area. If not immediately in front, atleast free 1hr parking on the side streets and a paid parking lot nearby.

Deja V.

Yelp
It's a pretty small place with a few tables. Don't expect great services here like a fancy place . The only thing That's decent here is the fried quail and the egg rolls . The Pho was too plain and lack that richness. The banh cua was decent and forgetful. Not much to brag about at this restaurant.

Richard L.

Yelp
Saigon NV is what I'll call the perfect no frills restaurant. It's got a small and unassuming shop front, and average in everyway you look at it. The prices scream just right, until the food comes in and the portion makes you feel like you scored a great deal! Not only that, the food tastes amazing. The pho is as hearty as the steam that comes off it (make sure to ask for chili oil), and the meat portion is generous. I also got to try R1 which is a huge plate of rice, meat loaf, pork chops, two eggs, shredded pork and crispy tofu. It was a medley of crispy, savory, sweet, hot and cold flavors that mixed beautifully with rice. Saigon NV is a must try! Expect to spend about $15-20 per person.

Janet A.

Yelp
Saigon NV has the best pork chop(com soun noung) and bun Bo hue... The pork chop is out of this world! So much flavor and good portion.. please don't ever change your recipe!!!

Michelle C.

Yelp
Really delightful find in malden of authentic Thai food. Have enjoyed all Sorts of pho which does not disappoint! Had last order sit too long (60 min past when it was finished) so it was cold which was annoying. But otherwise great! Would def recommend.

Tiffany D.

Yelp
I've been coming here for over 12 years with family and friends and the service and the food has always been good, and I've grown quite fond of this place due to childhood memories. I don't know why, but the service has gone WAY downhill recently. I've been here twice within the recent months and it's been so bad. The waiters either seem like they were new/didn't know what they were doing, or they were just plain rude (especially one of the girls). We sat down and we order with the older woman (I believe the manager?) and she took our orders. 15+ minutes later, Waiter A comes up to us and asks us if we're ready to order. We told them, we already ordered and she goes back, comes back to us and apologizes that our order didn't show up on their system. She seemed very apologetic, so we weren't too mad at her. We finally get a food and we're ready to pay. We wait a while, so I go up to the counter to pay. Waiter B (the rude girl) just walks away to go to the kitchen. Okay, understandable because it was busy. She comes back out, doesn't greet me or anything, just tells me the total, and rips my credit card out of my hand. The entire time she looked annoyed/pissed. Hands me the pen to sign, I sign, and says absolutely nothing to me (no "thank you" or anything simple). The last time I went there, Waiter B was yelling at a male waiter to "can you just clean tables???", complaining out loud in front of guests, and she was arguing with the manager about a table and if they ordered or not. Not sure if they are family members but Waiter B was extremely rude and had a very bad attitude. If you're so miserable, quit already! I used to really love this place because their Vietnamese food isn't bad for a Viet restaurant outside of Dorchester, but I left very unhappy with the service. I don't think I'll be coming back for a while.

Daft H.

Yelp
No idea why this place is 3.5. Best viet food you can get in all of Mass. Best pho, com suon, everything.

Fred Y.

Yelp
It was recently on a cold, dark evening that I was in the mood for some hot soup, mainly pho, and I cannot believe in my 18 years of living in Malden that I haven't eaten from this establishment. I called Saigon NV to place an order for pickup. I ordered the large beef noodle soup with rare eye round (P7) along with some white rice because I had a craving for it as well. I also asked for the hot chili oil on the side. I appeared to have gotten sriracha sauce and hoisin sauce on the side as well. The restaurant inside is very nice, and it appeared the owner was having a photo shoot of Saigon NV's dishes as I walked in. When I went up to the counter to pick up the order, I was greeted by friendly staff, and I paid for my food and walked back home. It was a 15 minute walk home and my food was still nice and hot. If you order their pho for take out, make sure you have a large bowl at home that can withstand the portion of food they give you. No joke! Back to the food review: their pho is flavorful! It comes with the sauces and a good helping of the meat described above, along with a great portion of the following: rice noodles, fresh cilantro, basil, scallions, onions, bean sprouts, a wedge of lime, and a slice of jalepeño. This all came to $12.95, plus tax. For $1 (plus tax) more I added a side of rice. All these flavors coming together feels like a symphony playing in my mouth. I also dipped my rice in the broth which added a nice taste to the rice. If you want a great quality pho at a reasonable price, Saigon NV is one of the best places in Malden to have some.

Sofyan S.

Yelp
Food (4/5): Got a pho bowl and vermicelli rice bowl. Both were decent but nothing spectacular. The broth was pretty good. Venue (2/5): Somewhat dirty and decor was outdated. Bathrooms weren't clean. Service (4/5): Friendly service albeit only one person doing the cooking and serving.

John W.

Yelp
This is a decent place. I wouldn't say I had a spectacular experience but as someone who LOVES Vietnamese food, they hit the spot. The prices are a bit steep for the quality of ingredients that they offer but they have a nice variety of dishes that really hit home and close to the types of Viet restaurants I would frequent growing up in NYC. The presentation is a bit messy but we're not looking at Michelin level artistry. I would come here for lunch, probably not dinner.

allan a.

Yelp
Hot and spicy ,perfect for cold weather ! Service was good . Place was good enough for 4-5 people .

Edward A.

Yelp
I said what I said. It's my favorite Vietnamese place in the Boston area, hands down. And the entire menu is spectacular. Not only are you getting some of the best grilled meats, Saigon NV's caramelized delicacies are to die for--try the caramelized fish and thank me later. And their bánh xèo is riveting. HOWEVER, one very important tip: if you order to go online on their portal--and I recommend you do since there's a discount--do be aware that their "estimated time," which is always 15 minutes, is a lie. Unlike many pho places that have your order ready as early as yesterday, Saigon NV takes its time in crafting each of its orders to perfection. Just know that your food will usually be ready in half an hour after ordering, sometimes longer on busier days. Go in with that expectation and your patience will be rewarded with epic satisfaction.

Vivian C.

Yelp
I got takeout the other day and got the grilled pork rice plate with dau hu ky. They gave plenty of pork which I was more than happy about and I had enough to have leftovers for lunch the next day. The pork was very flavorful and I especially liked the pieces that were a little charred since it added some crunch. My only cons are that I didn't like the texture or the flavor of the dau hu ky and they probably could have added more veggies on the side.

Julio G.

Yelp
The food is fabulous and the service is excellent! I highly recommend. This is a hidden gem in the heart of Malden.

jim w.

Yelp
I'm giving the restaurant a 1 because of the way they handled my complaint today. Today, 9/17/2021, 4:30 PM I picked up an $80 take out order. On the way home, the soup leaked through the bag into the passenger side seat cushion. I immediately called the restaurant to let them know what happened. I was told that I could come back and get a new soup. I explained that it was going to be a real effort to get the smell and stain cleaned up and that giving me a replacement soup was not addressing the issue! I then asked for some amount of the bill refunded and was told the best they could do was refund my soup. I then asked to speak to the owner and was told that the owner was going to say the same thing. A restaurant that handles a legitimate complaint this way does not deserve my business!

Lorraine T.

Yelp
More than pho , you can all kind of authentic Vietnamese food. Good service , never rush you to leave. And very reasonable price

Ly M.

Yelp
Waited a full 30 minutes for the nastiest Banh Xeo of my life. And I've rarely seen a Banh Xeo I didn't like. This one was thick, dense, and soggy. The outside was crisped to the point of being nearly burned while the inside was a mushy mess. It came stuffed with an unbelievable number of beansprouts (who could possibly need so many??) and extremely dry, overcooked pork. This wasn't at a busy time. In fact, when my friend and I sat down, we were the only two people there. By the time we left, the lunch rush had begun in earnest and the place was filling up quickly. But seriously, there was not a single other person there when we arrived, and only two people came to pick up take-out orders before we got our food. How it took 30 minutes for our appetizer - and especially one that was such a monstrosity - is a true mystery to me. The rest of the meal was not nearly so bad. We got a soursop drink that tasted rather like a McDonald's milkshake... It wasn't bad, but there wasn't really any detectable fruit flavor. The pho was on the blander side and lacking richness, but generally all right, and the bun with grilled pork was fine.

Emi H.

Yelp
This place has been a lifesaver during the quarantine. They offer delivery and takeout. I've gotten pho and I was impressed with the way they packaged all the components separately so they don't get soggy. All I needed to do was put everything in a soup bowl and it's ready to eat! I've also tried their rice dish with grilled pork and it was delicious. The marinade on the pork was incredibly savory and flavorful. It goes great with the white rice and vegetables. Highly recommend this dish!

Savannah H.

Yelp
Really good! The broth in the pho was perfect and the tofu spring rolls were delicious! I felt like I got very little meat in the pho, just because I ran out way faster than I did with noodles but maybe I was just hungry! Kind of slow service is the only downside but worth the food you get. Super nice folks working, overa better than the other Vietnamese places in Malden.

Lily M.

Yelp
Best Vietnamese food in the area. They have a lot more authentic dishes on their menu than most places. Food always taste delicious and fresh

Tracy B.

Yelp
Went once at the suggestion of a friend and didnt love it first time because on delivery a few requests were not covered, but then during all this Covid 19 shut down Ive been wanting Pho alot and they are one of the only places that deliver to me... So we went one night & the BF LOVED a rice plate so he was hooked and now we have been going 2x a week. The pho is great, they often put up with my many requests and asks for extras and sides. Super fast delivery (through GrubHub) portions are great, food is always fresh. Now just need to figure out if its them or Driver who keeps spilling stuff in the bags?! Would def recommend going & trying many things, its all good!

Stephanie N.

Yelp
The restaurant itself is small and they play no music. If you want a better dine in experience I would recommend Pho Bistro across the street. My roommates and I always get takeout from Saigon NV. Solid Viet food. But only thing that pisses me off is that if I'm ordering a rice or vermicelli plate, they give me SO LITTLE fish sauce. Not even 1/3 of my container is filled (see pictures). It is not acceptable. They just not to watch the world burn. What kind of Viet person only uses that little fish sauce?? It's happened more than once. How is anyone supposed to eat rice/vermicelli with that much Viet sauce?? I need my bowl drenched in it! I don't know why they feel the need to skimp out.

Jenny W.

Yelp
My go to place for takeout, fresh and authentic Vietnamese food! Pho, bun, rice plates, bo bun hue all delicious. Broth is the best in the 8-9 area Vietnamese restaurants I've eaten in. Not quite the level of LA or Houston but definitely delicious. Love the bun with shrimp beef and my weakness, fried shrimp paste with tofu skin. Yum I think I come here weekly! Friendly service and fast. Definitely recommend

Peter P.

Yelp
I ordered pho for delivery on a Sunday late night. Delivery instructions were to ring my doorbell, but the driver simply texted me instead. The food did arrive on time and was still warm (you will still need to reheat the soup to get it hot enough to cook the raw beef). The beef balls used have bits of tendon but also have a distinct spice flavor. The amount of noodles is good and the broth has decent taste. You will need to provide your own large bowl to assemble the pho, which can be common for take-out/delivery of pho; however, no utensils or napkins were provided. Even though I order an extra large size, only one small packet if Le Kum Kee branded siracha and oyster sauce was provided.

Eduardo N.

Yelp
Twas a Saturday night, and we felt too lazy to drive to downtown and deal with the usual horrible street parking situation, nor all the way to Dorchester and Quincy...so we figured what the hell, let's try something new much closer to home. Well, the extra drive time saved was canceled out by the extra wait time we had to tolerate at this place. Yes, the place was packed but they didn't seem short staffed either: I saw at least 3 servers for what couldn't have been more than 30-40 diners. But the servers seemed to all deliberately avoid eye contact, carried out just one lousy dish at a time (for Chrissakes they seem oblivious to the use of these uber high-tech devices called TRAYS that every other place uses), took forever to bring the food to our table, and again forever to take away used dishes, and so finally when it came time to pay the bill I decided to get up and go to the cashier's station myself but even there I had to wait because the cashier was on the phone talking to a supplier freaking out that they had run out of some ingredient. Made me wonder if the servers were actually family members coerced into working there due to labor shortages, rather than full time restaurant workers? They certainly didn't act like they gave a F about their customers or their restaurant. As for the actual food? Well, it wasn't terrible and it wasn't great. They are one of very very few Vietnamese places to offer true Vietnamese-style egg rolls (made with rice paper not the wheat base paper most Asian restaurants use) but what they contained was tasteless (seemed to have yams or potatoes or some other weird non-meat filler). Similarly, they offer Vietnamese crepes but again the filling was pretty mediocre too. Surprisingly the pho soup broth wasn't bad, actually had a bit of flavor (thank you, star anise) unlike most places' where you have to drown it in hoisin sauce to make it palatable. They also have caramelized pork and catfish on the menu which I'd be curious to try, even though I would not be surprised if the actual execution turns out to be similarly underwhelming. In short, I doubt I will be coming back here anytime soon. The lousy service and amateur-hour disorganization/inefficiency is bad enough, but the food quality does not adequately compensate for it, and the prices are also a little on the higher side. Alas, it looks like I will have to give more money to the Saudi kleptocrats at this rate and resume driving out to Dorchester or Quincy whenever I want half-decent Vietnamese food. Sigh.

Shirlane C.

Yelp
Recently ordered a banh canh cua (C8) and a banh ba mau (V2) through uber eats and had a pretty disappointing experience. The banh canh cua had a piece of plastic in it and the flavor was lacking. It felt like they made it using the soup cubes that you can buy at the store instead of the thicker soup consistency that I've enjoyed at other places. The banh ba mau was nothing to write home about. The spring rolls and beef were nice but the shrimp was so salty that I had to spit out the piece after taking a bite of it. Overall, would not recommend this place.

Myan T.

Yelp
The last time I dined here, formerly know as Saigon Noodle, I wasn't too eager to return. The food wasn't bad, I just found it lacked consistency. However.... That was many years ago! I recently discovered that they are now operated by new owners, hence the name change. During these unprecedented times of covid and reopening phases, I was disappointed my go to pho establishments did not offer dine in services yet. Thanks to my trusted yelp, it brought me back here, and so glad it did! My verdict after two visits in one week, way better than Pho Bistro across the street, which I frequent often. Prices are competitive. The pho broth tasted more authentic than the latter. You can taste the quality. Now for their bun bo hue, it was mediocre. I have yet to encounter a place that can create this as best as my mother. Then again, no two restaurants nor home cooked versions taste the same, as each have their own spin. The robust spicy broth flavor was there, it just needed more lemongrass. I was also searching for pork knuckles. I felt cheated that it wasn't included in my bowl. The quintessential pork chop plate was delicious. The portion was great for the value. Very good marinade on the pork chop. I enjoyed the egg custard the most, seasoned well. And you not only get one fried egg, but two! A bonus, for those of you who understand lol. I must comment that service was a bit slow, but at no fault of their own. They were super busy, especially with all the take out orders. Trust me, every 5-10 mins, a customer would enter to pick up an order. I also think they were short on staff in the kitchen and were doing the best. Nonetheless, customer service was decent. Never once did I feel they were overwhelmed or unpleasant. They've got a repeat patron out of me. :-) FYI.. For outdoor dining, weather permitting. Two tables set up for a party of 4 max, directly out front on roped off sidewalk.

Yelp
Lest me see what I found in my pick up order! Thanks god! I poured the rice noodles into my bowl otherwise may I don't found it and eat it! Disgusting! I wouldn't return anymore and I don't care your refund. I want to more people see this review and I will complaint about it.

Yelp
I ordered the summer fresh rolls from Saigon NV for a light meal on a hot day. Aside from the wrap itself and the protein (I ordered tofu and shrimp) these rolls were almost entirely comprised of shredded lettuce and rice noodles. Nota sprig of basil between them which made them regrettably bland.

Yelp
Not bad at all, for a pho joint in Malden. The broth is pretty flavorful, albeit slightly too sweet and star anise flavor. Portions are generous and price is standard. I have to say the meat quality is superb, in most places the eye round steak is usually very dry, not here, it's almost as tender as it gets. Grilled pork chop rice plate was tasty, but was maybe too flavorful for my liking. If it was toned down just a bit and made slightly sweeter it would have been perfect. Portions were on point and it was also very tender and had good char. Thank you for saving me a trip to Dorchester!

Yelp
Service is okay, spicy pho sate is AMAZING!!! It's basically your normal pho with a spicier broth. I loved the brother flavor and how there was so much meat. I added extra beef balls and they were tasty and of good quality not too rubbery. I asked for jalapeños and chili oil on the side and I really like the quality of their chili oil. We got fresh shrimp rolls that were very fresh and the peanut sauce tasted home made with ground peanuts a dash of chili. The prices are fantastic also my entire meal was less than $20!

Yelp
I've been here a handful of times. The servers always remember my boyfriend and I the moment we walk in. "Welcome back." Lol not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing haha. Love how this place is so close to me. This is a good place if you don't want to make a trip to Chinatown on a cold night. Their broth is not bad, but I've had better. They also give a good amount of noodles and beef which is hard to find a place that's not stingy and cheap. Every time I go I get P2-beef noodle soup and A8 spring rolls. P2 is always a classic. A8 is 5/5 for me. I love this every time with the peanut sauce they provide. The bang xeo (see picture) had way too much bean sprouts. Probably only 2 pieces of shrimps through out the whole order. The service here is pretty good. Seems like a family owned restaurant. This place is fairly quiet. Some times too quiet. You can barely hear the music. I feel so self conscious when I want to blow my nose. They take cards which is a plus. Also street parking is easy to find.

Yelp
I placed order for a couple dishes yesterday and they forgot one dish in the package. The Pho has gone bad after we left it in the fridge not even 24 hours. This isn't the first time and I feel like they have been using a lot of left over food from days before so they gone bad so quickly which didn't happen based on my experience with other restaurants.

Yelp
Bad service - no water or tea . Didn't ask us if we need anything. We gave them so many chance but they still didn't bother to give us water or tea . Even outside temp was 83 degrees. There are 3 ppl (a guy seem new, a lady maybe she is a manager and a guy probably the boss). If they didn't see us didn't have tea or water something is wrong with them. However they did asked other tables (maybe we are Asian/Chinese not Vietnamese). When we asked for the check the new guy nodded to us but then go take care other tables mess, cleaning some cups etc . We had to waive hand for other waitress to give us the check. Overall we leave no tips. We usually tips 18-20% even worst serviceWe tip around 10-15%. I will never come here again this restaurant should be boycott! To the owner you are not the only pho in Malden. I'm here to enjoy foods not to enjoy your shit.
