The 20 Best Bakeries In Paris - Paris - The Infatuation

"There’s no fast-acting yeast at this organic bakery. Instead, everything from the smoky Francis baguette to the dense croissant with a slight whiff of cinnamon is leavened with sourdough. Sain makes the city’s best chausson aux pommes—the caramelized crust shatters and showers you with buttery flakes the moment you bite into it. (When apples aren’t in season, mirabelle and rhubarb versions replace the classic, and they’re nearly as phenomenal as the original.) Peasant wheats are the stars of the bread shelves, like the heirloom Rouge du Roc, whose moist crumb is loaded with rich, lactic flavor. And seasonal pains cuisinés studded with anything from peas and goat cheese to celery root and mustard will steal the spotlight at any picnic." - sara lieberman, emily monaco

The 12 Best Croissants In Paris - Paris - The Infatuation

"Think of this croissant as the country cousin of the Parisian classic. The dense chew and slightly lactic tang balance out the richness, and you even get a hint of cinnamon. Once you’ve got your hands on one, head to the picturesque Canal Saint-Martin, only ten paces away, for a waterfront breakfast. If you can’t wait that long—who could blame you?—there’s a handful of tables too, with perhaps an even better view of the viennoiserie case, a landscape of butter, sugar, and flour. While you’re here, grab Paris’ best apple chausson, with a crème-brûlée-style caramelization and chunky apple filling—and direct any effusive praise to the expert bakers just around the corner on rue Marie et Louise." - emily monaco

I went there to looking to have their signature brunch or petit dejeuner menu or sandwiches that are advertised on their instagram page. I asked for it and they didn't have it... no explanations. I didn't know if it was the wrong day or wrong location/branch. As i was checking the viennoiseries on display, a regular and local customer asked for pain au chocolat and a chausson aux abricots. When it was my turn, i was like... saaaame! I also asked for bread with cheese and ham. All good!!!

In my neighbourhood but first time eating there as on our way to Canal saint Martin, just 1 minute walking distance away. Our croque monsieur and dessert was good. A cute terrace in front of the bakery too to eat and people watch 🙏☀️❤️

🚨They probably overcharge people who don’t speak french or seem “tourists”. Do not recommend. I ordered one pain au chocolates and one blueberry tart and it came out 10.8 euros. It’s either overpriced or they overcharged me. Wow. I went because my French friend recommended it but never again. Also I tried to order cafe au lait or some coffee with milk, the server said they don’t have coffee with milk. So latte, cappuccino, etc none of those are available.

What a lovely place. Welcoming atmosphere, I really like the green tiles and what about that ancient enormous wood 🪵 in the ceiling. Food wise, croissants was good, even if I ate something better somewhere else in Paris. But the “layered little cake” creme, vanilla and caramel with all crust… next time I want a ton of these!! You really need to try it

Very interesting and appealing concept of this place, where they try to use less refined sugar, bio flour and etc. But the viennoiseries weren’t tasty. They were dry and very burnt. The bread was delicious though! The ambience of the place is pleasing.

I ordered the Moroccan salad and the woman serving me started mixing what appears to be some leftovers of the salad from the day before with the fresh version of the same salad. That happened just in front of my eyes! Very disappointing. It was in a different bowl even, hidden behind the fresh bowl of salad. Avoid this place.

How nice! Everything looks so appetizing, so hard to choose. I tried a pistachio/cherry cookie, a flan, and a chocolate cake — no complaint, but a big shoutout to the flan, very smooth, not too much, not too little. I’d love to try the truffles next time I stop by.

Might have tried one of the best cookie ever! Large selection. Only one slight drawback is that my friend who’s allergic to grapes asked if there was grapes in the carrot cake (the answer was no from the staff) but it actually appears that there was some … my friend was really disappointed but this! Tried to call them just to let them know but no answers unfortunately…
