11 Dallas-Area Spots Serving Great Outdoor Cocktails | Eater

"Settle into Dallas’s most extensive garden patio at Saint Ann. Located in the trendy Harwood District downtown, the stunning tree-fringed deck is the perfect brunch destination to take a big, deep breath after a long week. The New American menu is the product of young executive chef Taylor Kearney, a rising star who’s worked with culinary luminaries like Charlie Palmer, Thomas Keller, and Anne-Sophie Pic. It focuses on ingredients from local purveyors within a 50-mile radius of the restaurant with some Pacific Northwest influences. Even the restaurant’s most simple dishes, like the spring chicken with carrots, sweet onions, spaetzle, fava beans, and turnips focus on high-quality ingredients. As evidenced in the Berry Smash and Spring Fling, drinks are equally thoughtful and made with premium spirits, like Grey Goose." - Vox Creative

Gorgeous restaurant located in a historical landmark which was originally an old schoolhouse – St. Ann’s Parochial School. The restaurant has an old meets new interior with original exposed brick, old artifacts and antique photographs along the walls that are contrasted by a modern bar and contemporary glass staircase. It is clean and offers a variety of seating options and a relaxed but sophisticated atmosphere. The bar is substantial, and the extensive patio is a true oasis in the city which is well shaded with beautiful trees and large umbrellas. The customer service is 5-star with friendly and attentive staff. The portions are fair for the price and the food is fresh and prepared to perfection. They offer a comprehensive menu with vegetarian options and were able to accommodate dietary restrictions including a reduced salt diet. We made a reservation for brunch and were seated immediately upon arrival. Everything on the menu that we had was delicious including: the Avocado and Lobster Toast, Eggs Benedict, Country breakfast, French Toast, Wanda’s Doughnuts, and Fluffy Cakes and a Mimosa Carafe. We were incredible satisfied with the food, service and overall experience. I highly recommend this restaurant and will return to it time and again. Side note: the bathrooms are located on the second level along with a unique feature of this restaurant, the Ann and Gabriel Barbier-Mueller Museum. Fee entry and an incredible private exhibition that has been made free to the public which showcases Japanese Samurai culture and is the largest of its kind outside of Japan.

Amazing food! Definitely save room for dessert. Their desserts are the best part. The service was amazing and the decor is very cool. They have a beautiful patio area. We had the spinach dip, which was good. The server recommended the tuna Poke tostadas. She was so right. They were delicious. The tuna was so good. Every bite was wonderful. And the carrot cake was so cute with a bunny on top. The cream cheese frosting was great. But the star was the chocolate torte. It had a deep rich flavor and the cherries really complement the cake. Definitely a place worth trying again.

From the time we arrived until we left the entire experience was awful! We had a 9:30 pm reservation, when we arrived there was no one at the hostess desk so we waited 20 minutes for someone to finally come to the hostess desk. When she finally came, she said, "I'm busy, helping other parties." Then she walked off. After waiting another 10 minutes to be seated, we were finally taken to our table. We started out with 1 deviled egg, it was bland and terrible. They ran out of filet mignon, so we all ended up ordering the lobster pasta for our main course. It was HORRIBLE! The pasta was reheated and it was very oily. The meatballs we ordered were hard on the outside and the inside was salty. They tasted like potted meat. The strawberry shortcake was NOT strawberry shortcake. It was some made up concoction of strawberries and cream molded and made to look like ice cream on a stick. Drew, our waiter was great, he is the only reason I gave the service 5 stars. If it was not for him apologizing for the way the service was, I would have given the service a rating of 1. The live band was also a plus. The overall experience with the food made the whole thing bad. We ended up going to another place to get food because we were hungry after we left the restaurant. It was a huge waste of money.

We came here for my birthday and had the best time! We started off at the bar with Blake and he was so nice and welcoming. We ended up moving to a table outside where we chatted for a minute with the GM Peter. He was very warm and welcoming. Zack was our waiter and was the absolute best! He gave us some great recommendations and gave us such an amazing experience! My parents ended up joining us later on and everyone was super nice and we all had the best time chatting and just sitting. We have been coming here for years for brunch but have never tried dinner service. Absolutely rrecommend! Everything was phenomenal and we had such an amazing experience!

Stopped by here for a little happy hour before the Stars game. Space is super nice, good vibes and nice bar seating with a few high tops. Fun fact there’s the largest samurai collection in the United States and one of the largest in the world. Happy hour menu consists of beer (no draft), wine, and a handful of cocktails. Started with the Samurai Smoke, which was Mezcal, poblano and had smoked chili bitters. Nice kick, smokiness from the mezcal compliments the pepper nicely, solid cocktail. We shared a few appetizers, the wagyu meatballs, queso, deviled eggs and the calamari. The chips served with the queso were incredibly well seasoned. The deviled eggs were unique and flavorful. Meatballs were massive and so savory. Our bartender was great as was the experience as a whole.

I made online reservations and waited for my friend to get there but had my table ready at reservation time. Service was outstanding and I decided to try something different which I really enjoyed. Went afterwards upstairs to the museum and walked around for a bit. It's just such a lovely place to enjoy brunch.

Must try if you haven’t already. Great place to have great conversations over even better food and drinks. Thank you to all the amazing staff and management for doing it best! Peter made sure everything was perfect.

Visited for the first time for DFW restaurant week and when I say…WOW. We got there a little bit before 5pm and were seated right then and there. There wasn’t many people there so, our service was just right. The appetizers was great, I really enjoyed the crab and artichoke dip and tomato gazpacho, my friend said the ceaser salad was the best she’s ever had. For main, I got the Sticky Asian Glazed Chicken and it was delicious. Everything was cooked beautifully, the flavors blended well but eating each ingredient individually stood out on its own. The rest of my party got the steak frites and they absolute loved it. Said it was the best they have ever had. For dessert I personally loved the Strawberry Shortcake. The chocolate torte is very dense and rich. All in all, if you are thinking of visiting don’t hesitate! I will say the patio is very nice and is shaded by trees but in the height of Texas summer I would think twice before reserving an outdoor patio table.

Yelp
As a first-time guest, I am unsure where to start. One star is for the quality decor, which beautifully maintains the integrity of history--very cool. However, the fake plants hanging from the ceiling need to be replaced with real ones, as they appear tacky. The other star is for the chicken meal, which was roasted to perfection and very tasty. Unfortunately, I cannot award any additional stars due to the terrible customer service and the wine selection process. Apparently, there is a sommelier, but the manager explained that they have been undergoing some wine changes for the past three months, rendering the menu largely irrelevant. We chose ten different bottles of wine, and none were available. While our server was kind, he stated that his hands were tied and he had no control over the menu. When we asked to see the manager, we waited about 20 minutes for him to arrive. He mentioned he hoped our server would resolve the issue, but the server was unaware of the specifics. All we wanted to convey was that the manager should cross off all unavailable wines to avoid wasting our time. Ultimately, we did not want to spend almost $90 on a bottle of wine we didn't even love. At the end of our meal, the manager returned and stated that, politically speaking, he had no authority to improve the situation due to red tape with the restaurant's owners. He expressed his difficulty in making improvements. Instead of bringing out a dessert--which we did not need--he should have provided us with a couple of available wine choices and offered a discount off our bill. While the food was spectacular, I would not return, as it seems the owners of Saint Anne's do not truly understand the essence of food and beverage service.

Yelp
Starting off service from the hostess was horrible we waited almost 20 minutes for a 9:30 pm reservation to even be acknowledged. Then only to be told she was working on other parties. Unacceptable! The entire staff looked defeated. Sadly, our experience did not get any better...... food was really bad. Our waiter Drew was remarkable and tired to make the best out of a bad situation that was beyond his control. This is not how we wanted to spend our NYE ........... really saddened. They had a live band or duo and it was good music ....

Yelp
Saint Ann is a consistent brunch. You know what you are going to get from a food perspective. Nestled in the heart of downtown the ambiance has a mix of outdoor and indoor seating. This is perfect for small and large groups. Their menu is very diverse and has great options for everyone. The staff is great and attentive. They are were able to accommodate our last minute request for a birthday. I highly recommend reservations but there is plenty of walk-in tables as well.

Yelp
Brunch with friends was relaxing. Waited a little extra to be sat outside on their large and well ventilated patio. The weather definitely called for it. We waited by the bar and each enjoyed a delicious beverage there. When we were seated, our waiter was quite helpful with the menu and service was fast. We ordered the spinach dip to start and it came with plenty of tortilla and pita chips. I ordered the bagel and lox and it was very tasty. Prices were pretty in line with the area, food and service. Quite enjoyable experience overall!

Yelp
Queso was really good. Drinks were unique. Service was a little lacking despite not being busy. But nice ambiance, modern, large bar area and large outdoor area.

Yelp
No exaggeration this may be the best donut I've ever tasted. The deviled eggs were great too!

Yelp
This place is so cute and the perfect brunch with the girls vibe. They even have a museum upstairs (I didn't check it out but saw a sign for it) Food: The bacons wrapped chicken was top tier! The calamari did not disappoint at all and the lobster toast was amazing and filling; they were not stingy with the lobster which was a major plus.. Service: I was with a group of 10 and the restaurant was very accommodating and our server did a great job. Overall: Would recommend and looking forward to visiting again.

Yelp
So you fancy, huh?!! That was my first impression after looking at Saint Ann's website and after getting seated. I flew into Dallas over the weekend and met up a good friend for lunch. I thought this place was going to cost an arm and a leg but fortunately, the price wasn't too bad. I was very surprised as the food was very delicious as well! For appetizers, we orders the meatballs. Now I am not really a meatball person so I would never have ordered this dish if it were up to me. My husband, however, loves his meatballs and suggested we get it for our apps. The first bite of that meatball and I was hooked! That sauce that they had the meatball in was AMAZING! It was rich in flavor but the sauce was not thick. It was perfect. For my dish - I got the shrimp and grits. I'm still missing the food from our New Orleans trip a few months ago so whenever I see it on the menu, I usually have to get it. The grits on this dish was different from any I've ever had. Instead of it being like an oatmeal consistency like normal grits, it was more of a cake, if that makes sense. It was more of a cake and the shrimp rested on top of the cake. But whatever you call it, it was pretty freakin' tasty and I would get it again in a heartbeat! It satisfied the shrimp and grits craving I had that day! I also had a sample of my friends lobster Mac and cheese dish. It was rich and buttery and lobstery and cheesy - if you love seafood and Mac and cheese, you can't go wrong with this dish! My husband got the chicken fried steak - I just had a little bite of his steak but wasn't in the mood for that texture so I cant really give an honest review. But I didn't not like it. I just wanted to deep dive into my shrimp and grits! Upstairs where the restroom is located, there is a museum of Samurai's. Threw me off guard a little as it was the last thing I expected. Looks pretty cool in there and I believe admission is free. You would just need to scan a little barcode by the sign and schedule your visit. We came on a Friday for lunch and it seemed like it was a popular place for work people to have a lunch meeting. Lots of people dressed in their business casual attire. Overall, I highly recommend coming here for lunch! The food is amazing! Our server was pretty great as well - very attentive and knowledgeable.

Yelp
Gorgeous space in the heart of the Harwood District. A bit pricey, however they are in downtown Dallas so that is to be expected. Excellent service - 110%. They offer a stunning outdoor space and a small art gallery upstairs. I enjoy going alone and writing during their HH at the bar. Give it a whirl!

Yelp
Thanksgiving Dinner review. I have eaten here many times and really enjoy the atmosphere. So,when I received an email alerting me to their Thanksgiving buffet,I reserved. Over the years I've prepared a lot of food on thanksgiving. This year I didn't have that obligation,so it was nice to do something different. Overall the food offerings were traditional and well prepared. I think it's the first time I've ever started off a Thanksgiving feast with a cold martini. Don't get me wrong, deep down I'm inclined to cook for people and I love it however, it was wonderful taking it easy this year. The piece of chocolate cake I chose for dessert made it all worth it!

Yelp
When there with some friends. Definitely a trendy place. Make sure to valet because parking is hard. There was only one chicken dish, which was delicious. Good selection of wine and cocktails.

Yelp
I am in the foodservice industry so I completely understand the shortfalls of labor and service in today's environment. For this reason, I never write negative reviews. That said, on Mothers Day (the only day I get to relax and have a good meal), I felt nothing but disgust. I always entertain customers at Mavs/Stars games. Sometimes, I meet them at Saint Ann for a good meal. It's always been a great atmosphere. My sister mentioned the Mother's Day brunch on the patio and my mom and I thought it was a great idea. I also made reservations at the Samurai museum bc it always looked interesting. While we were waiting, I let the hostess know we were going upstairs. She mentioned she had our reservation was inside. * my sister had selected "garden view" but they told her she had to notate "outside" on the reservation but would let us know if they could make it work (which they kind of did) * I then told the hostess I'm vegetarian and wanted to see about veg options - she was annoyed and said she'd check...no response * We finally got our table and it was missing my chair. I advised I didn't purchase the preset meal ($60 pp) bc I didn't know if there were vegetarian options. The waitress was confused and said that was all they had. * I advised everywhere I've gone, the chef can throw sides together. Asked if they could do that - she said she'd ask yet no response. We pull up our own chair and squeeze tight. * I ordered champagne and confirmed it's the waitress it was regular champagne - she said yes ($70/bottle). 40 min later a gentleman brought rose. I advised I had confirmed champagne (don't drink rose) and he told me that was on the menu. He brought another champagne ($102) - which I love by the way. I showed him the menu and kindly apologized. He was the assistant manager. We still got charged the full price even tho they were out of the menu item. No problem. * A few min later the rest of the table got their sodas. * 52 min after we sat down, we got our preset menu items. * 2 of the apps were wrong. * Before we could finish, the main course came out. * 3 of them were wrong. My vegetarian substitute - eggs Benedict right off the menu. Even after we had discussed the items on the menu. She snapped and I told her I don't want it...I will take fries or the flatbread with no prosciutto as my main course. She told me she didn't know if they could do that. They could. I had a cold app as my main course. * My family got the rest of their food. Some were lucky enough to get ketchup for the fries. No one got a steak knife for the steak (used butter knives) and for some, the food was cold. * At this point, no one got a refill on their soda. The entire meal. * We then received our desserts. Half were frozen so hard we couldn't eat them. * To top it off, there was a built in 20% tip bc of the size of the table (that we squeezed together) I have had the pleasure of some amazing meals and atmospheres in Dallas. Never in the last 20+ years have I ever experienced such terrible service or food. To say I'm disappointed is a gross understatement. I will never return to Saint Ann and that's truly a disappointment. The biggest disappointment of a Mother's Day I've ever experienced.

Yelp
Enjoyed a lovely brunch on a Saturday. We changed to sit inside because of the weather. Hostess graciously reseated us with ease. I had beet salad with chicken and my friend had eggs Benedict. Both were nummy. We were able to linger over brunch to catch up while I was in town for a short visit. Appreciate welcoming ambiance to connect.

Yelp
Great breakfast and the donuts are legit. I'm a fan of the eggs Benedict And there is live musing which is a plus. 4 for brunch 200 coconuts

Yelp
This was a cute and nice spot for a Sunday brunch! I was pleasantly surprised of the portion sizes especially when ordering sides. Very generous and good! I had the country breakfast but substituted the biscuit for toast with no issues. Everything was good. Our service was good. And to top it off, there's complimentary valet service m!
google avatar

Jennifer V.

Yelp
I came here years ago, pre-pandemic, was great. Now, everything we ordered was horrible: mojito, samurai smoke, calamari's wasn't crispy and the sliced peppers mixed in were cold, meatballs dry and slightly burnt. Wow. What a let down
google avatar

Yelp
I had a group dinner here last night and there are definitely some pros and cons to the place. Their cocktails are cleverly named like "the one with vodka" which I highly recommend. I wasn't in the mood for a big meal so I ordered the Cesar salad and whipped potatoes. The salad was pretty embarrassing and could've easily come from a bag. The potatoes were great though and the serving size was good. The restaurant itself was very pretty and was a great place to have a big party since they still let us do separate checks. The main problem I had with the place is that it was very loud and had many large parties, yet my friend was scolded by someone who worked there (not our waitress) for being too loud. Personally I felt like this was ridiculous since there were tons of parties that were also being loud. Our waitress came over and told us to ignore her and we were fine, so clearly this wasn't an us issue. Since the dinner was for a birthday, they brought over a few cake pops which was cute but I wished it was something a little easier to share since three cake pops were given to seven people. Overall, we were sat quickly, had great service from our waitress and most of the food was very good. I just wish the woman who scolded us had asked our waitress to say something since I feel she handled it poorly. It really brought down the vibe of the dinner and made my friend self conscious.
google avatar

Chelsea O.

Yelp
Continues to be one of the best spots in Dallas. Service is impeccable. Food is on point. And the restaurant is stunning. I'd recommend just about everything, but you have to get the whipped potatoes on the side. Just trust me. Sizzlers for an app way to go. I'd eat 100.

Yelp
Out of this world service at Saint Ann!! We had the most lovely lunch. Food and drinks were great too... we did ask for some customization and it was no problem. We enjoyed the on site samurai museum after we ate too. Definitely recommend if you are in the area.

Yelp
Stick to Brunch. First time here for dinner and couldn't have been more disappointed. The pork shank was reheated and dry, not good. I managed through it because I was hungry and didn't feel like coaching an inept chef who should not have served that dish. The carrot cake was not cake but 90% icing. The fish was the best part not the meal. Again, dinner not so much.
google avatar

Ashley S.

Yelp
My friend and I attended an event at this restaurant and we decided to sit in the bar area for further relaxation. I did observe multiple servers helping out throughout the event but the primary bartenders (in the bar area) were not very helpful. The customer service was lacking and they were very cold (unsure if it was just to myself and my friend). The servers OUTSIDE of the bar appeared to be helpful and doing the best they can. As far as food, I ordered the Chicken Tortilla Soup and Caesar Salad. The soup was filled with shredded chicken, veggies, and a tasty broth. It definitely assisted in making me full! The Caesar salad was your typical item, nothing extra about it. I enjoyed both dishes together but if you're to get the salad add protein to it for a tastier meal. The drinks I ordered was an Expresso Martini and The One with Vodka. Both drinks were quality made and I enjoyed them. I never had an Expresso Martini and the OUTSIDE bartender informed me they add vanilla to theirs to sweeten it a little bit which is a smart idea! Overall, the food and drinks were passable at this restaurant but the customer service needs improvement especially in the bar area.
google avatar

Stephanie Q.

Yelp
This is a really cute area for brunch. On Saturday they had live music which was really fun. Inside it was more calm, however I did feel like an exhibit being sat in the middle of the restaurant. The food was pretty good! The French toast was almost too sweet, and the sausage add was a must to balance it out. Will try this again with a bigger group to see if the bottomless mimosas are worthwhile!
google avatar

Arlene R.

Yelp
Fancy, Trendy, Beautiful Restaurant in Dallas I came to visit the Samurai Museum and dinned here before going into the exhibit. They had live music, brunch in a beautiful setting. The salad was good but service was a little slow. I don't know if I was just not appreciating the vibe cause most were there to be there and I was there to eat and go to the museum... I definable recommend checking this place out but come to enjoy the restaurant... plan to be here the entire afternoon and you'll love it!

Yelp
Our server Drew was my favorite person/server in as long as I can remember! All-around great food, ambiance, and service :)
google avatar

Archana W.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant!! The setting is so gorgeous, lots of trees and greenery. Valet is available so it's easy parking. Waitstaff were all so friendly, engaging, but not hovering. Our group had a fabulous, leisurely brunch and did not feel at all rushed. We ordered the lobster avocado toast, the brisket hash, the arugula salad. All lovely. Then we decided to order the donuts -omg y'all. Just get the donuts. They were worth ALL the calories.

Yelp
Another awesome meal at a local fave. Aaron, our server, was the best. Made sure we had everything we needed and suggested menu items. Love the open space .Cannot wait to return for lunch and dinner. My favorite restaurant in the Harwood district . Keep up the great work.
google avatar

Derek S.

Yelp
The ambiance here is relaxed and there is a nice outdoor area. Servers were very nice but the food took a very long time and was just okay. I really enjoyed the appetizers. The pea soup was delicious and the doughnuts were very tasty! The salmon bagel was just a bit too salty and didn't have much flavor. The egg on the salmon benedict was over-cooked and potatoes were underwhelming. Overall, would probably come more for the vibes and appetizers.
google avatar

Olivia B.

Yelp
Came here for brunch with friends. It was so good! They have wonderful drink options for those wanting cocktails. Then menu is amazing! I definitely will be coming back.
google avatar

Rachel G.

Yelp
Quaint space in the downtown area. Great happy hour specials that consists of drinks AND food--thank you! Refreshing drink options for $7, ordered the meatballs to snack on. They have potential but were really dense, which made them kinda dry. Service was great, was pretty slow so we got undivided attention.
google avatar

Yelp
This restaurant is SUPER CUTE....That's the only thing it's got going for it. We got there before our reservation and the bartenders working had no personality. They looked like they hated their lives and took forever to get us drinks/our tabs. Our reservation was for 7:30 pm. We didn't get our food until close to 10 pm. Everything at our table came out cold. Sea bass was okay, but not worth $44. Tiny portions...I also got the baby broccoli and it was cold/lacked flavor. I will never go back to this place. Our waitress was nice, but they were definitely understaff and need better chefs. So disappointed. It's such a cute restaurant.
google avatar

Candace M.

Yelp
The doughnuts taste like beignets with a glaze. Everyone at the table loved them. Get it.
google avatar

Lauren R.

Yelp
It's been a few years since I've dined here, but it was refreshing to return! I ended up celebrating my birthday here with my family for Sunday brunch. Upon entering there was live music that really set the ambiance. My family and I were seated at what I call the "chef's table" next to the kitchen. I really enjoyed watching the kitchen during brunch. And although they were moving at lightening speed, they kept everything so clean. Everyone enjoyed their entrees, but the star of the show were the doughnuts. Don't be intimated as they look super sweet, but are actually quite balanced. I have to add this place back to my brunch rotation. Also S/o to our waiter Aaron super efficient, and prompt. I also like when management comes and checks on the table.

Annabel T.

Yelp
Baked white sauce fish over rice hits every single time. Baked pork chop and curry chicken also legit. Fave comfort food when back in the bay.

Yelp
I had never heard about this place until I tried it for a business dinner. I've walked by this place several times before, but it's kind of tucked away. It is on the fancy side, so it's great for dates or important dinners. This place does have an outside patio, so if the weather permitting it can be nice. We got pretty much one of every appetizer and they were all good. Can't go wrong with any of them. I got the steak frites for dinner, which was really good! I wish it was a little bit bigger in portion, but still very good! I'd get it again for sure. Staff is great and all dressed nicely, as it's a fancier restaurant. Would love to come back here for a different occasion one day. Definitely recommend this place!

Yelp
I treated my mother, aunt, and uncle to lunch here during the holidays. The three of them attended Saint Ann when it was a school. I enjoyed showing the the new restaurant and allow them to relive a bit of their past with the small details still in tact, the authentic school photos on the wall, and the treat of the samurai museum upstairs! What I didn't like was the middle aged host who wasn't a lick of friendly or courteous, and made me feel like I wasn't welcome. The burger was so dry and tasteless I was forced to drown it with ketchup. AND IT HAD QN OVER EASY EGG ADDED TO IT. Pitiful. The salad was wonderful! It was a south western something. The roast beef sandwich was okay. Nothing special. The mac and cheese isn't worth the carbs. The BLT was very good! And the tortilla soup was a knock out! Our waitress was very pleasant as I've never had a bad server here. But between the host and the burger I think I won't waste my time on lunch and/or dinner. Rather come for their standard brunch. Nothing that will be like this is my favorite breakfast dish in town but, it gets the job done.

Yelp
The ambience at this place is spectacular. Our server Matt was awesome and very knowledgeable when it came to the menu. The grilled pork chop with cheddar grits was amazing and Banana bread pudding was delicious. I would definitely recommend everyone stop by and try something out of your comfort zone here because you won't regret it. Update 3/18/22 We came in on a quiet Friday for lunch and received exceptional service. Unfortunately, the food was not a hit. The chicken fried streak was extremely over cooked and tough to chew and the shrimp & grits was very watery like a soup. However, the 24 Carrot cake was delicious and so was the spinach and artichoke dip. So based on this recent experience, I'm changing my review from 5 stars to 4.

Yelp
DO NOT COME HERE UNLESS, Brittney is your sever! I would give my first born son, in exchange to have Britney as my server at any establishment I go to for the rest of my life. That's how amazing she is! Also! Cookies?! Yes, cookies! She bestowed her universal cookie wisdom upon me and my boyfriend and we are instantaneously hooked. Amazing Recommendations, even better service. Ask for Brittney any and every time you come. It's like winning the food/server lottery.

Yelp
The Sunday Brunch start wasn't great as our table wasn't ready on time for our reservation and we weren't greeted very friendly at the front. It's nice when the establishment host or hostess makes you feel welcome and that they're excited you came. That wasn't the case for us though. Once we got our table, there was a bit of a wait before anybody showed up as well. Luckily, we were not in a hurry. However, once Dwayne showed up to serve us, everything was fantastic from that part forward. He was a fantastic server, with high energy, friendly, attentive, helpful, and just made it fun. We highly recommend him and he made us forget the poor start when we entered the restaurant. We started with two Bloody Mary's which have a bacon flavor for some reason. I thought they were just fine, but one was enough. We decided on the calamari for an appetizer. It was OK and a large portion (easily enough for 3) but I'd try something else next time. Our entrées were excellent. I had the classic Eggs Benedict, but with poblano hollandaise with fries instead of hash. So good! My daughter had the large Everything Bagel with smoked salmon. It was a lot and she couldn't finish it, but she loved it. The food and the service were both definitely five stars.

Yelp
I can't say this enough... Stuart was absolutely incredible! The whole experience was 10/10 but having him made it that much more amazing. I will be coming back and definitely asking for him. The food was perfect and vibes are top tier! Thanks so much to everyone who works at this institution!!

Yelp
my experience was as if the kids in the neighborhood tried to play restaurant. and the cook staff really should stick with a fast food chain. I was truly disappointed. The dish I had was over salted and overcooked. and the side was served much later than the main course. So someone went to culinary school and graduated at the bottom of the class.

Yelp
I won't be returning and I will tell you why. I went [today] for a birthday brunch. The brunch menu has maybe one or two options for people who don't eat pork or beef. Basically, if you don't want pancakes or french toast--you're out of luck unless you want to pay $22 for a Cobb salad. I asked the waitress if they could do a Chicken Fried Chicken instead of the Chicken Fried Steak. She said yes. When the guy brought it out to me he said it was CFS. I explained that I asked for CFC. His words: OK, that's what it is then. He wasn't sure and didn't check, so I ate a piece and it tasted like liver. Two more bites and it got worse and worse. Like how do you mess up Chicken Fried Chicken. I found out after the fact that it was a boneless skinless chicken thigh. I took 3 bites of it, literally, and left the rest there. I drank my drinks and waited for my bill. My waitress saw that the food was there but didn't ask if I wanted anything else; She didn't tell me that there were other menus that I could have ordered from. I made sure to pay in cash because I didn't want any traces left that I went there. $50 later, I left hungry and stopped by Chick-fil-a on the way home. Oh, and they burnt my friend's bacon. She asked for it to be crispy and I think they were trying to be funny. (pics will be attached)

Yelp
I have been coming here for a couple of years now for brunch. Today's visit was just okay for me but my date loved it. The menu has slightly changed so the French toast did not have the strawberry cream cheese and the middle of the bread was still gooey. The cheese eggs were okay but they only have one type of cheese to add, cheddar. The mimosa was good and so was my lemon water #random. The spinach dip appetizer was really delicious but it came out only 5 minutes before my food so i did not get to eat on it long. I guess I got there early so there was probably no line in the kitchen for orders. The staff was so polite and pleasant and as always, I will be back when I'm trying to impress guests and dates

Yelp
We could not have had a more incredible experience at Saint Ann. Our server was friendly and efficient. The seating was comfortable and we felt welcome and not rushed. The ambiance was pleasant and not over stimulating. And the food was phenomenal. I had the lobster avocado toast and enjoyed it so much. I snuck a bit of the pork belly hash and it was absolutely divine. Even the big cat biscuit sandwich was great. Don't miss out on the deviled eggs. They had the perfect blend of flavors and textures. Overall the food was delicious with thoughtfully crafted flavors and plated beautifully. But the desserts really shined bright. We had a wonderful spread and everything from the variety of ice creams all the way to the pecan pie was perfect. I wouldn't change a thing. I would travel for another weekend from austin just to enjoy another Sunday brunch here. 10/10

Yelp
Great outdoor dinner option for a COVID safe date night. We've been to Saint Ann pre pandemic for drinks with a large group but this is our first dining experience on their new patio. The patio is amazing. Also, most reviews for this spot on Yelp seem to be focused on brunch but dinner is not something to sleep on. The cocktails are delicious, the food is tasty, the service is on point, and the ambience feels like you've escaped Dallas and are in a different town! Our server was super attentive and took great care of us. The weather looked like it may not cooperate for a while and he proactively moved us to the covered section (retractable roof like a ball stadium!). We started with the barrel aged old fashioned and the gin / cucumber cocktail (I don't remember the name). This also just made me remember that their menus are full digital via a QR code on the tables. For apps we got the lobster and the bacon wrapped chicken. Both were outstanding. The lobster came with a pancake like base that was delicious and paired perfectly with the lightly fried lobster. The chicken was good too but I mean it was wrapped in bacon so it had to be right! For entrees we got the vegan gnocchi and the halibut. Both were a little on the bland side but a little salt helped with that. I would say the apps were way better so I think next time we may be doing apps for dinner or opting for some of the unhealthier options like the burger or the chicken fried ribeye! The dessert was the star of the evening for me. Chocolate tart of amazing ness served with coffee gelato. Wow. Probably the best dessert I've had at any Dallas establishment. And trust me I know desserts!!! Highly recommend St Ann for more than just brunch. Great dinner and amazing patio!!!

Yelp
There back!! Always have had an enjoyable experience! Wonderful staff, service, food and drinks Last Sunday my partner and I were on a mission for brunch and we took a chance to see if our favorite restaurant was back open. Yes, yes and yes. There wasn't a wait at all and the food came quickly as we sat at the bar. They refresh the menu with some incredible delicious delectables. We both had the perfectly seasoned lobster and waffles... It's oh so good!! what an amazing twist to the traditional chicken and waffles. It's a must have... the pineapple mimosa was a perfect compliment... If you're tired of the old tradition brunch spot... You must visit Saint Ann's.. it's an experience and one you want forget with their amazing patio seating.

Yelp
Ordered Uber eats. I had the cod with bokchoy.. ONE tiny bok Choy and the cod was small too. For the price definitely not worth it

Yelp
I really hate to do this because our waiter was wonderful and apologized multiple times for the delay in getting our seats, but I won't be going back here. I made reservations for their Father's Day brunch. I got a phone call the day before confirming the reservation and then when we showed up, the hostess could not find our reservation. We had to wait a bit, which would normally be fine, but I was with a hungry toddler so that got our experience off to a not so great start. The restaurant is aesthetically pleasing. There is a beautiful courtyard area and a samurai collection upstairs, which is housed in a small museum so that makes it pretty unique. I also was not thrilled with the food as we were expecting more of a traditional brunch-there were no eggs, pancakes, waffles etc. It was mostly heavy meats like brisket and southern comfort type of foods like Mac and cheese. I personally was disappointed in the brunch spread however, the dessert spread was pretty good. For $65 a person I would have expected more typical brunch items.
