It was fine- came here on a Thursday night to grab some dinner and it wasgood food. Note that the fries come with sweet potato fries mixed in, but I'm sure if you're not into that you can just ask them to give you regular fries. I got shrimp tacos, which were pretty good. They were messy and I'd rather they be served on a plate instead of some stupid hipster cutting board thing. Service wasn't that great, but it didn't need to be.

One of my favorite spots in Philly. I love to come in for a Sunday brunch. I have never had a bad meal and neither have my friends. If you are just in the mood for a brew, St. Ben's is the perfect spot. I have tried many of their beers and I have yet to be disappointed. Their "Start Today DIPA" is one of my favorites. To top it off all of their staff have been extremely friendly and very personable. I cannot wait for my next visit.

Nice atmosphere. Good and attentive service! The side salad was very fresh and the dressing yummy. I had a flight. The Franklin's Abbey stout was very nice. Dark and chocolate tasting. I wasn't crazy about the i.p.a. this week on limited release but would go back to try their next one. They also have a Sunday brunch. The menu looked very good I'm just not a brunch person.

This place is perfect...a beautiful brewery ,a beautiful taproom (a bar dreams are made of), and expertly crafted beer (and cocktails)! Don't get me started on the food, I'll never stop. The staff is amazing and inviting, it's like an oasis in Kensington. A must see (and drink) in Philly!

Decent brewery. We walked there from Yards. Walked through some pretty sketchy parts of Philly but we lived through it and made it to the brewery. Beers are decent. Lots of light beers to choose from. We also got the meat/cheese board which was a delicious snack. I believe Evil Genius is supposed to open soon right down the road. The combination of Saint Benjamin and Evil Genius will make for a nice trip.

So sad they are closing! We came to check it out cause we hadn't been and wanted to try it. The food is amazing!! They have so many vegan options! I had the impossible Burger with vegan cheese. I hope they are able to bring their brewery and restaurant somewhere else. The service is amazing as well and they have great beer and cocktail options. The food took quite a while to finally come out but our experience was still amazing!

Just a nice spot to relax, warm up, eat some good food and drink some good beer. I come here with my brother and we really like how friendly it is. Its a good place

Great brewery! They also carry pa spirits for mixed drinks. On some Thursdays they do burlesque, ten dollars gets you in and buys you a beer. There are a is normally a few parking spots in front.

Human Robot is a gem! They offer an extensive and impressive tap selection that caters to all tastes, and the friendly service makes the experience even better. One of the best perks is that you can grab delicious sandwiches through Poe's Sandwich Shop, adding a great food option to pair with your drinks. The environment is comfortable and inviting, making it an ideal spot to relax and enjoy. I was thoroughly pleased with my visit and am already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend checking this place out!

My first milk tube and I kind of liked it! So light yet delicious. I had a Czech style beer and my husband got something fruity (can't recall its name) but he really enjoyed the fruity beer. I saw lots of regulars the last time I went. They don't have any food but I saw a bunch of people eating - maybe you can BYOF?

Review is only for drinks! Staff is very friendly and nice. The beers were so good. It is a brewery so they only have beer. I don't love beers, but the drink I had was so good. It was very fruity, it almost tasted like a fruitshake!

This is such a cool vibe! They only serve beer so if you want cocktails or anything more elaborate than a simple cider or canned drink, look elsewhere. This place is really good for groups or individuals. It's loud but not too loud and the staff is very friendly!

Walked into a near empty but clean bar. The food side was just closing down so didn't get try any. Drank one of their in house czech-style lagers. It sucked! My friend had some ipa and commented it tasted average. Think food is the reason for the high reviews

Although it had ID, the bouncer didn't like it and don't let me in. I'm 51 years old. WTF! I'll spend my dollars elsewhere.

I'll be honest. I'm not much of a lager person, but I got a good meal and a unique experience out of Human Robot, so I liked it. I usually go for sours and ciders. Here, I just decided to give the milk tube (just a taste of the famous milk pour the brewery is known for) a try. It didn't taste that different from the other lagers I've tried, but it did have a unique texture thanks to the foam. I've come here multiple times for the sandwiches, which riff on the typical Italian and chicken cutlet sandwiches. It's just enough that I feel like I'm getting a unique combo I wouldn't have tried on my own. Menu items I've tried: - Splatter (my favorite) - Gabbygool - Skinny Joey Fries I've also had a daily special with a name I can't remember. All the sandwiches are super filling and last me about two meals. Will definitely be back!

How do you not love a place where they give you a free beer as soon as you walk in? They welcomed me with a milktube, which is a foamy Czeck lager meant to be chugged! I did my best to chug, but these guys were way more experience than me! This place had a great vibe and great beer. I hear the food is good too, but I was only here for one reason. When I am in town again, this will be a definite, stop!

Can't say enough about this place. My second experience here was as good as the first. Great staff, having Poes in house is stupid good. Great little spot.

Some of the best lagers in the country! Such a warm ambience, staff is super friendly, and of course the beer is excellent. I always recommend this spot to anyone visiting the philly area. They also have a great sandwich spot that is inside the brewery, Def come here, def drink here !

Great ambiance - such a lively vibe, great service, a nice selection of beers and ciders (and more). Throw in some tasty sandos from Poe's on-site and you have a pretty darn good experience! Sandwiches were tasty as heck. And there was definitely something for everyone. We opted for the commish cutlet and the splatter (an Italian hoagie). Perfect meat to bread ratio scored some major points with me. I can't believe it took us so long to make it here. That's my only complaint. Keep doing what you are doing - and we will keep coming back.

Always a fantastic time!! This a massive chill, open hang out space. I like the indoor and the outdoor seating. During the warm days there's loads to seated and standing room to enjoy your friends and beer. Their selection is very good and the staff helpful and quick. The vibe is as good as the beer. We also love the food available from Poe's.

Human Robot for days!!!! This place has the best lagers in the city. Try out their restaurant Poe's sandwich joint which is located in Human Robot. Poe's makes amazing sandwiches and I love their fries. If you come to human robot you must do a milk tube! They are known for this frothy lovely foamy drink.

Human Robot is a traditional brewery but they have a few unique features that make them stand out. There is usually a steady flow of folks sitting at the bar with can and bottle options as well. I've patronized this place a few times and have always been met by a helpful staff. For an outdoor experience, they have outdoor seating, you can walk up on the sidewalk order at the outdoor window and grab an outdoor seat. What also draws me to this place is their connection to sunflower park across the street. They have sponsored events and supplied beverages for those events as well. You can order a beverage and head to the park to enjoy it. They also share a space with Poe's sandwiches although they are separate companies, they share the same space. Orders are made separately online but you can have both beverages and food and then enjoy the park.

Well I have a fascination with robots long with space ships and dragons. And as anyone can see I'm a humongous brewery fan so it was not even a moment of hesitancy to go try Human Robot. Steve and I got one beer here. It was the Hallertau Pils. A German style pilsner which was very enjoyable and perfect for the warm day we had to partake with this pilsner. With a grainy and yeasty flavor this pilsner proved to be an enjoyable one. And with a heavy fondness towards robots. it was simply a no brainer that I picked up a t shirt to go representing this brewery later on down the road.

Human Robot is a nice place. I'm not always a fan of their beer selection though. Most of the current Tap list is bitter Czech Pilsners and IPAs. Drinking an IPA is like drinking grapefruit juice. Why...How did this become the thing here in America? Where are the German Beers from last year? Something that doesn't twist your face when you drink it.

Beer was great! We had 2 different IPAs that was tasty! We also tired their milktube which was sort of a shot with a heavy foam with beer but the foam was flavorful and not beer foam. Def would go here again!

Beer was good. Pretty quiet when I came here, but it was also the day after Thanksgiving. Definitely an interesting spot. Could definitely see this place being a good hang out spot. There is food available too, but did not try it

First timer. Stopped here for a drink with friends. My husband got the Czech and I got the orange crush can. Both drinks tasted OK. There are finger foods available. Plenty of street parking available. Service was not great as I was ignored by a female worker as I was trying to close our tab. Probably won't be returning.

Gotta check this place out. Small menu but high quality brews. Try the milk tubes and get a couple sandwiches from the sandwich place next door

UPDATE Was harassed by several members of what's either management, staff, or acquaintances of Poe's and HR's after the original post through a variety of means. From being accused of lying about the cost to lying about my own experience. Pretty unhinged for one bad review about how it wasn't great food or beer. To add insult to injury we also both became ill from the food. Avoid at all costs.

Cool place with neat decor. If you don't have you Vax card, you can only sit outside, there is a small order window you can order from. They don't have flights but you can try some small samples. We ordered the Sommerbock which was a very good summer beer, very light and easy to drink. They do have some sandwiches you can order as well from a separate business. Everything is through a QR code for the menu. Some street parking nearby.

A cool brewery and the sandwiches here are pretty exceptional. It is a great place to come with friends or a date and just soak up some of the atmosphere. I first discovered vraft beer around here when I was living in Philadelphia, so when I was up here visiting and came across this cool bar with a cool name, it was a great to find a quality place for quality beer. Philadelphia is also known for their great food and again, these sandwiches do not disappoint. The vibe of the place is definitely cool. Service is good and they have a great selection of beers to choose from. I must also say that I am digging the concept of the brewery and the name that this business has chosen to embrace. Human Robot is one of those breweries that does justice to the craft beer scene and is a great addition to the neighborhood and the city.

Human robot staff is rude to people who don't drink in their bar. Staff was really mean.

I like their beer. I dig their vibe. In the summer I'll walk my dog over and grab some beer from their to go window. The location really sucks to walk to though. It's surrounded by a sea of broken glass.

I tried the milk tubes; amazing how refreshing they are and how different they can make the same beer taste just by altering foam content out of the tap. Their regular beers are awesome, bartenders are good as well.

I saw some reviews that the bartenders aren't friendly. Absolutely not true. I sat at the bar and had great conversations and service. Definitely recommend the milk tube. Fun Go hungry and get Poe sandwiches on site. Easy app order. Top brewery food!!

Human Robot is my favorite Philly brewery, without question!! The fact that I can get crisp lagers/Pilsner's and dank IPAs with a delicious sandwich seals the deal for me. My husband and I stopped into Human Robot while I was visiting him in Philly. Off of the beaten path, Human Robot lies. Right in the midst of a neighborhood evolving, amazing beer is being pumped out. With COVID still in the mix, Human Robot ensured each of its patrons showed proof of vaccination. I felt safe with their concern for their customers' health. The best brewery in Philly, to date! The variety of beers offered and the quality is unmatched, in my opinion.

Came to human robot for a quick happy hour with some coworkers and the place was packed! Of course we had to get a round of the infamous milk tubes (you need to drink these immediately to really enjoy them and not take your time taking pictures like I did). Open seating and proof of vaccination required sign at the door, we found a table in the corner and were able to thoroughly enjoy the experience! They let you try the beers before ordering a full glass which I truly appreciated, having been my first time there. Pretty good selection but not a great place to go if you don't like beer. The other selection is locally sourced canned cocktails.

It's worth the pilgrimage! Great brewery. Easily among the best in the city. Great staff too!

Great atmosphere, great beer, great food. Have heard about this brewery for some time and finally got to it. Bartenders are so friendly and attentive. Poes sandwiches (the sandwich shop in the brewery) were incredible. Don't forget to get a milk tube!! We will definitely be back!

I've been slowly watching Human Robot Brewing morph into the space it is today over the past couple of months (via picking up sandwiches from the ever amazing Poe's Sandwich Joint) but I'm stoked to witness their grand opening next weekend (February 6-9th 2020). My boyfriend and I stopped by last night to try some of their beers and grab sandwiches. I'm not too familiar with that area, but Human Robot is located in the former St. Benjamin BrewCo building on North 5th right next to the Ribbon Factory apartments for reference-- a short ways off from Fishtown in Olde Kensington(?) but well worth the trip (especially since NDA Poe is running the kitchen operation). Seeing as I'm not too familiar with the area I'd suggest driving over or catching a quick Uber. Parking is tight-ish in the direct vicinity, but if you go around the block or down the street you should be good. I've always found a spot close by so that shouldn't be an issue (or maybe it will be once this place blows up in popularity, haha). We tried the Twiki Tweaks IPA hopped with Simcoe and Citra with notes of Tangerine and the My Machine Don't Download which is brewed on a pillowy base of Pilsner and hopped with Denali featuring notes of pineapple. Both were banging juicy, hazy, IPA's that I've come to really appreciate. The space in which HRB occupies features exposed brick on the wall to the right, and concrete high tops that add to their sleek industrial vibe. Clean white tile work frames the left wall where the taps are located bringing the eyes immediately to a large arched mirror that backs the bar. This focal piece is dually framed in a large black arch in a V pattern, making the room look larger and spacious. Through the windows to the back, you can see the vats and tanks of the brewery itself which is as interesting as it is functional. As I said earlier, Poe's Sandwich Joint operates the kitchen, and they're located to the back right, visible through a counter like window. Dine in and take out options are available. Overall I think these guys have really great potential in the Philly Beer scene and can't wait for the future of this dynamic duo.

I don't know what John B. is talking about. Human Robot is a great place for a beer and a tasty sandwich. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I think he's either a competitor or someone who has a personal beef with them. I love it here and will keep coming back. Love the South Philly location too!

I've only visited Human Robot a handful of times, however, I've had their beers on numerous more occasions. As such, this review is as much about their beers as my direct experience at the brewery. The brewery offers COVID friendly pick up options as well as limited outdoor seating. The staff is friendly and ordering is at the window. Given the variety of their beers, I appreciate their patience and willingness to discuss! As for the beers, I'm sure they make a great IPA-type beer, but they have never been the style I like. They do make some original and tasty sours which have me coming back. As COVID lockdowns loosen with vaccinations, I look forward to getting back to Human Robot more!

Not kids friendly brewery. No kids under 21 after 2 pm.... stroller are not permitted at all. Definitely not a family place. We used to love it hand this place was a Old Benjamin.

Went here with a bunch of friends and my Czech husband. We all loved it! The beer is DEFINITELY Czech and reminded my husband of home. Even the glasses/mugs were typical Czech! Was an amazing time and super welcoming. It is definitely a hole in the wall that we will be returning to. (I just wish the staff spoke czech, to top it all off.)

This would have been a five star review if the heaters were working but unfortunately two needed repair so it was a tad chilly in the lovely outdoor structure but otherwise we had a lovely afternoon. We recommend this place for friends who were coming up for the weekend from Baltimore and I think they were really impressed with the brews and the setup! Can't wait to come back

First time in Phili. First place I tried a Phili cheese steak and it was fire. Didn't feel like I didn't belong either, thank y'all for the hospitality.

I really like the dichotomy of Human Robot's beers. The concept is interesting and a great way for people to explore really classic and unique options. Their drafts are constantly changing and rotating, so the beer you might like one day, may be gone the next. I definitely lean more into the Robot side. I like my beers to be more adventurous, and sometimes weird. Human Robot's beers were good, but of the 2-3 that I tried, nothing really spoke to me. They were good, but nothing that made me go "I need to buy some to bring home." I think my experience was also tainted with how overly crowded the establishment was. There was barely any room to walk, sit, OR stand, let alone a space at the bar to buy beer. Granted, I came the 2nd week of them being open, and there was a lot of hype surrounding their opening. I still think they could have had a better system in place. I'll be back again some day for a second chance... their beers just sound so good! Maybe I'll find myself a winner.

First of all, if this was my local brewery I would always be here... This is a "i had to drive an hour and a half for this place" review. Beer was fine, if you love lagers you'll be in heaven, we are more NEIPA types.... However, they also had 2 really good IPAs that we tried. Service was great. Location was super friendly for outdoor eating/drinking. next time we come to Philly we will probably stop back. Worth your time to drink some good beer... (and definitely get a Poe's sandwich, my god)

Loving the Human Robot! Being very local to this spot, my boyfriend and I are very happy that they decided to put in another brewery! The beer is OUT OF THIS WORLD! We will be coming back to have the food "Poes sandwich joint." It is pretty crowded for a Saturday late afternoon but everyone is having a blast. Highly recommend!
