Single-origin coffees, baked goods, and teas in an airy cafe

"A modern specialty roaster and café offering well-executed single-origin pours and neighborhood-focused hospitality that contributes to the city's vibrant contemporary coffee scene." - Julie Wolfson
"Saint Frank is to San Francisco coffee as Dungeness crab is to San Francisco restaurants: when the time is right in the city, nothing else will do. Owner and founder Kevin Bohlin’s been on a spree, too, as he opened choux paradise Juniper on Polk Street in 2023 and a second San Francisco Saint Frank location in SoMa. Longtime fans return for the gorgeous service, minimal aesthetic, and tea-like Bolivian coffees." - Dianne de Guzman, Paolo Bicchieri

"We love Saint Frank’s coffee, and now they’ve opened a giant location in SoMa. Expect the same menu of great coffee, pastries from Juniper, and teas from Song Tea. The space has big floor-to-ceiling windows, as well as plenty of seating for getting some stuff done. " - Ricky Rodriguez
"Opening quietly on January 5 in the MIRA building on Folsom Street, the second Saint Frank Coffee location quickly drew long lines from locals and Ferry Building goers and is now open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.; it serves pastries from Juniper, teas from Song Tea and Ceramics, and an ever-expanding selection of Saint Frank coffees. Founder Kevin Bohlin frames the move as a recommitment to San Francisco—saying the pandemic created space to dream and that he welcomes the challenge of opening amid talk of a downtown 'doom loop'—and the menu at this shop is identical to the original Polk Street location for now. Known for a minimal, contemplative specialty-coffee aesthetic and for cultivating relationships with often-overlooked producing countries such as Bolivia and Burundi, the new space was designed by longtime Saint Frank architect Amanda Loper and features an ox-blood ceiling, marble tables streaked with red, a communal marble table beside a classic horseshoe coffee bar, and a large painting celebrating Babette’s Feast; MIRA negotiated a rent deal to ease opening costs, and Bohlin has even bought the building that houses the original Polk Street shop." - Paolo Bicchieri
"San Francisco coffee titan Saint Frank Coffee expanded to a second location for the first time ever, planting a big flag in SoMa near the Embarcadero. Located on the first floor of the MIRA building, owner Kevin Bohlin told Eater SF he wasn’t worried about the negative reputation the city’s downtown gets these days." - Lauren Saria
