The formerly St. Roch Market is now called Politan Row, a nice food hall in the middle of Design District. Basically, this market consists of one floor of different vendors offering an eclectic mix of food options with a liquor bar in the middle. They have sushi, Italian, Mexican, Mediterranean, Vietnamese, salads, desserts, and more.
You can order from any of the stations, get a beeper for when your food is ready, and select a table. Easy process and for the most part fast.
We ordered drinks by the bar and although they tasted good I am not sure they used the liquor we requested since the bottles he used were not labeled. However, the "Campari" Spritz tasted good.
For food, we ordered from Itamae, a Peruvian-Japanese vendor. We enjoyed two sushi rolls; Totoro ($15) made with spicy tuna, avocado, shiitake mushrooms with aji ricoto aioli and Lost In Translation ($16) made with tuna, avocado, salmon, aji amarillo aioli, crispy quinoa and masago. We also enjoyed a Cebiche bowl ($17) made with ceviche of daily catch, organic greens, onion, cilantro, Peruvian corn, sweet potato and leche de tigre. Everything was tasty.
This is a nice place to visit with a group of people since everyone can just go and order what they want from any of the stations and then reunite at one of the long tables. Easy, fun, and delicious!
