Try the spicy lamb stirred fried with thin cilantro. It’s a personal favorite of mine. I asked for it to be mildly spicy and it was done perfectly tender and just a hint of spiciness. We also had eggplant fish fillet chow fun (thick noodles) and golden stirred fried tofu. All of these are excellent. Not too heavy in the sauce and you can taste the actual food that’s in it. The chow fun was slightly too soft— but still delicious. More firmness would be perfect. Over all 4.8 stars so I round it up to a five. 4 stars for the atmosphere as seating near the door is not recommended. We went on a cold day and waiting guests kept the door open and made our food cold. I had to tell them to close it myself. The host was too busy.

Great value for Hong Kong-style Western cuisine. 2 cost around $40 without tips. You can easily get full with 2-3 dishes.🚗 Convenient parking with validation available at $2 for 3 hours. ❤5/5 for Stir-fried Black Goat: Delicious and not overpowering, with cilantro to cut through the richness.❤5/5 for Salted Fish and Tofu Pot: The tofu is tender and the dish is very comforting, perfect with rice.❤ 1/5 for 盐酥鸡 Crispy Salted Chicken: Quite ordinary, not recommended. For a tastier version, I suggest trying the Crispy Salted Chicken 盐酥鸡at Taipei cafe instead.

Saint’s Alps has always provided good quality and delicious food over the years. They used to stay open really late because they were our go to for late night meals. Prices were reasonable. Great service. Restaurant was clean. They were good for groups. Portions were ample when sharing.

Cheap and yummy food! I personally don't recommend the Taiwanese fried chicken because they don't really taste like Taiwanese fried chicken to me, but definitely give the baked dishes a try, specially with the tomato sauce, reminds me of home. I love the sweet tomato sauce with fried rice and the pork chop on top was perfect! The drinks are okay but I'd prob get bubble tea elsewhere next time.

Stumbled across this place on accident and so glad I did! I originally was trying to find a place with a dog friendly patio and I stopped here. I tried the seafood udon and the veggie udon. Both were your standard udon noodles and very tasty. I recommend for something quick and tasty to eat. Prices were also very reasonable!

The food is always a hit! I have ate here multiple times with friends and family and everyone enjoys the food! It’s a must try in Chinatown if you haven’t yet. The service folks are sweet, no complaints with the folks. The service is just a bit slow. The atmosphere is comfortable, it’s a relatively small place with updated seating and bathroom are kept clean!

Great underrated hong kong cafe. Food is really good and on point. Price is cheap too. They are very generous with the ingredients as well. The entire bottom half of my bowl is filled with noodles. I do wish i have more broth instead but it was a perfect amount of tofu, chicken and shrimp. I really enjoyed it. I just wished that they did not name it laksa because it is definitely not anything close to laksa. It’s a typical chinese style curry noodle. Also, just a tip for the owner: The name of this restaurant needs to be changed to something more chinese because this restaurant is very empty during lunch time when everywhere else is packed. I mean, people go to Chinatown wanting chinese food or at least asian food and saint alps doesnt sound very chinese so maybe that’s why it lacks customers. I didnt even realize that it’s a hong kong cafe until i heard the staff and customers speaking cantonese.

St. Alps has been a dependable and constant place to get food. They offer combo dinner's to individual plates and always a smile at the end. Most of the combo specials comes with an 8oz cold/hot drink. I ordered the combo "A" which offers chicken, pork and crab for $38. We added an additional veggie plate for $12 and rice is complimentary. Service and interior is very comfortable. They do validate for parking. Highly recommend.

St Alp has been my Chicago stable since like 7 years ago! This place is reasonably priced with great portion and very nice staff and surprisingly I have found it hard to find a new york equivalent so this place has always been my first stop whenever I come back to Chicago! Will always been back!

Hidden spot in Chinatown Takes credit card. Eat the Cantonese dishes here! Staff speak Cantonese and English Come for Lunch. The lunch special is good. Each dish comes with bowl of soup or tea. #48 Dry Beef Chow fun with Soy Sauce (gun chow ngao hwo) - pretty good flavor, the noddles are soft. Could have more char flavor. Seasonal Vegetables with Garlic sauce - very good simple dish to get your veggies in Taiwanese Crispy Pork- random place to eat this dish but tastes good.

Overall the flavors were good but maybe a bit on the lighter side. I wish the flavors were stronger, but instead it's at a level where you can forgo rice. The tables were large, waitstaff relatively friendly, and prices reasonable. I'd return to try some of their other items.

I picked up dinner and got the Seafood in Tom Yum Noodle Soup. I got my food pretty quick after ordering online. Probably took about 10 minutes for me to get to the restaurant and the food was readily prepared for pick up. Seemed like a cute family restaurant. The few staff were eating dinner together when I entered. Business was slow. The food was bad. Do not get the Seafood in Tom Yum Noodle Soup. The seafood tasted like it was previously frozen and then microwaved. It was gross. Super disappointed especially since I'd love to support small businesses. Would have had anything else, I'd recommend trying fried noodles or fried rice since can't go wrong with those. Tl;dr - got the Seafood in Tom Yum Noodle Soup, was gross.

Came to Saint Alps and ordered two Green tea milk tea with tapioca. This is definitely the best spot for milk tea. They also serve food (Chinese) but didn't order this time. Great service, greeted us once we walked in and took our order. Got our drinks within 10 mins . Saint alps is two floors so there is plenty of seating. Lots of parking options. They have street parking , parking lot (meter) , and a private parking lot it's about $2 ( hour). I usually call it in and just double park. In and out. I would recommend.

This has got to be (PERSONALLY) the best place in Chinatown, and I'm willing to wage war for it. My friends and I have been coming here for years, and we've enjoyed everything we've ordered. It is not an understatement to say that we dream of the scallion pancakes. It's a pretty small placed tucked away, and it's easy to miss it if you aren't looking for the bright orange sign. However, this means more room for you! If you go, please do not order the scallion pancakes, as I have nightmares of me showing up and them running out.

I'm updating my review to say the Dry Chili Chicken on their separate "Chef's Recommendations," menu is fantastic!! It is one of the best in Chinatown if you love medium spicy Szechuan popcorn chicken. I will be ordering this dish more often. Service was excellent as usual.

One of my favorite place to get milk tea. We usually never sit down here to eat but we always go here for a milk tea when we're in Chinatown. The green tea milk tea and the black tea milk tea are definitely one the best we had since it's not overly sweet. They have it available in hot or cold and you can add tapioca or jelly. The place is pretty small but it has two levels. The cashiers are always polite.

Their boba is soooo good! This place is definitely underrated. Get the black milk tea with boba!

lowkey spot in new chinatown for chinese food! the staff were friendly and came by often to refill our waters. the menu is also extensive so there is something for everyone. my favorite entree was the curry chicken. the taiwanese fried chicken was tasty but was missing some sauce on the plate. if you order a lunch combo, it comes with a drink! the price is super affordable, three mains came out to around $40 with tip. i can see this spot being popular with college students and it is a nice area to just chill and talk with friends.

There are many bento options in Saint's Alp. I will recommend to use Chowbus or Fantuan to place the order. There are many promotions on these two apps. I have Taiwanese Fried Pork Chop and Tea Egg Bento and Fatty Beef with Enoki Mushroom with Satay Sauce Combo Set for dinner. Both are great! Fatty Beef bento is a classic meal that you can find in Taiwan food stand and I personally recommend it. This meal will come with a drink (bubble tea or others) if you order on Fantuan. Don't miss the drink! It is so good! Their bento is large size. If you are a girl with average appetite, one bento can be for 2-3 meal.

This is the BEST tea that you'll get in Chinatown. Since being here in Chicago, I've tried just about every boba place that they have to offer, but I still find myself coming back to Saint's Alp. The boba are chewy and sweet, the tea is flavorful, and the machines they use to shake it up add a nice frothy texture. I always get the almond milk tea, but the black milk tea is just as good. If you like sesame, try the black sesame milk tea! Not only is the tea amazing, the price is much lower than most of the other boba places you'll see in Chinatown. Give this a try!

They are our all time go to for a regular weeknight dinner takeout. We always order the baked fried rice with pork chops and tomato sauce with extra cheese on top. The fried rice was dry but not dried out or became soggy under the sauce and the pork chops are always tendered.

Located in Chinatown square, Saint's Alps is a solid option for big groups. I always rotate between 2 combo sets. Each combo set comes with the ordered meat, rice, a drink, broccoli, and 2 shrimp. My favorite is the Beef with Pepper and Mayonnaise Sauce, and a close second is the Chicken Chop with Teriyaki Sauce. The beef with mayo reminds me of a deconstructed Big Mac. The drinks that I've tried here are the Black Milk Tea and the Kumquat Lime Nectar. This restaurant makes good drinks and the boba has good texture . The Crab Rangoon is a solid option for appetizer, standard. The food here is a bit pricy for food in Chinatown.

The food is amazing!! I have gone here on multiple occasions and have I was never disappointed. The staff are very nice and helpful too. Inside is pretty chill and cozy, it's not usually too busy.

Located in Chinatown square. If you're familiar with Chinatown then you'll know it's metered parking. If you're super lucky you can snag a free parking on the residential side, back side of square, which I don't recommend because chances are soooo slim. Good lunch, dinner place. Used to go here all the time back in high school and college. Have not gone here for some time now. Decided to order take out here for lunch with family. Of course temperature of food is not the same as dining in, but it wasn't too bad. Took a long time to pick up order though, about an hour after placing order. Order was accurate. Kids loved the seafood u-don, that dish was cleared off so fast, could use more u-don though, otherwise the amount of seafood included was decent. I got my usual cutlet fish fillet which comes with the rice, minced pork broccoli, half egg (as picture) with curry sauce on the side because I'm not a fan of their curry. I got the rice set which included the drinks. I got the black milk tea with boba (not pictured). Their milk tea tastes like a standard milk tea. Another one of our favorite is the pork neck, the ginger sauce is delicious (imo). If you like a sweet sauce this is for you. Definitely didn't get "pork neck" though, the pork used is like the thinly sliced pork you get for hot pot. I'm not a fan of the pork chop in Mayo sauce, so no comment from me there. The salt and pepper fish would taste better dining in since the batter wasn't crispy by the time we got home. Rating is from take out experience, would likely gotten 4/5 if we dined in.

First time here and the food doesn't disappointment. Everything was made to order. It was fresh. The seafood Tom yum noodle was sour, but not too spicy. It had one spicy pepper on the menu but it wasn't too spicy. They had the hainese chicken special at the time. The rice was season well and the chicken wasn't dry. Their boba drinks was also fresh.

Don't be fooled by the numerous pictures of drinks outside because they offer so much more than just drinks! Serving the Chinatown community, their pan-asian menu totally captivated my Asian tastebuds with Japanese, Taiwanese, Hong Kong, and even Korean dishes calling out to me. So of course I got a little bit of each. I'm sad to say that they were very hit or miss but still promising imo. The stir fry udon was very disappointing. Not a lot of noodles to work with but it was a blessing in disguise as the choice of udon they bought were the slightly sour type. Would definitely not waste calories on it again! All the rice dishes we ordered were huge, so I recommend sharing them. The Japanese curry fried rice was so addicting and there were chunks of pineapple in it but I knew I would be thirsty for the rest of the day because it tasted strongly of msg. The (Taiwanese) marinated minced pork with tea egg was my favorite. It looked tiny in the picture so it was a pleasant surprise to see that it was a big size. The flavor of the pork was just right and went perfectly with the rice. My only complaint is the meat to rice ratio was off. Less rice and more meat please. The (Japanese) pork chop with salted egg yolk stone bowl rice is recommendable as well. It reminded me of a katsudon as egg was mixed into the rice and the pork chop is deep fried. Delicious. Cute decor with faux greenery on the wall. Was surprising to see they open as late as 4am on certain days, like damn lol.

Great lunch specials that come with tea or house soup. I got the pork cutlets with tomato sauce and lemon green tea. This came with a very generous portion of cutlets and plenty of sauce on the side so it doesn't get soggy on your way home. The lemon green tea was good, not too sweet. I liked how they didn't leave the tea bag in the cup so that it doesn't become too concentrated by the time you get home. I went back another time and tried the fish fillet with eggplant lunch special. It was okay, the portion size is very large though.

Did you know the New Orleans NFL Team have bought their own mountain in Switzerland, to practice (and ski) on? They're calling it "Saints Alp." They have lovely service, they let me sit down and drink bubble teas (for awhile), they're insanely cheap, but I still can't give this place in the heart of Chinatown Chicago 5 stars, because not a single bubble tea I've had from here (and I've had 7 or 8) has been good. Just okay. But not bad either. Still, I'm a fan of this place and have tried a whole bunch of products from here. I sat in here for quite a while last time I was in Chicago. The service was really nice. Products on the other hand are definitely hit or miss. I can see the reason for the low prices. And for the low ratings as well. The coolest feature is that you can get stuff from the window without even setting foot in the store. A quick-service window if you will. I'm still a fan of this place, and will probably come back in future when I'm in the wonderful Chinatown of Chicago. Anyway, heaven's not for Saints, so I need to go and take my next review sc-Alp.

I've stopped by here over the years for bubble tea but came here for dinner for the first time and am regretting not doing it earlier! They have a black sesame milk tea that keeps me coming back as no other tea place I've been to offers this. It's especially gratifying during the winter when served hot. The owners/waiters are always nice and provide attentive service. Tried the spicy lamb with cilantro and must admit I love how they use the stems of the cilantro which gave great flavor and texture to the soft slices of lamb. The Mongolian beef with noodles was a really intense flavor of sweet, savory and just a hint of vinegar acid to keep you coming back bite after bite. Even on a Saturday, they close a little earlier at 9pm than larger shops so come early to enjoy! They do offer outdoor seating (with comfy seats might I add) and we didn't have to wait in a line unlike other more popular restaurants. Not sure why more people don't come here. I sure will after my excellent experiences!

In my opinion, this is the spot to go in Chicago's Chinatown if you want bubble tea. We looked over all the other places before deciding on this one. It turns out that Saint Alp's prices are slightly lower than the others while still retaining a high quality. We had both a cold and hot bubble tea and both were delicious with a good balance of sweetness and flavor. Also, this place is a waiter service cafe with ample seating and a full menu of hot and cold food and snacks. Or, you can just get drinks to go too if you prefer.

Nice tea, avoid the boba! Tucked amongst a bunch of shops on the newer side of Chinatown...I got a peach black tea and it was a bit too sweet. They pride themselves on serving real Taiwanese tea. Everyone else who got milk tea asked for it without boba. We dined in just to kill time. I had no service and the place does not offer wifi. It has a cute cafe set up, but I was disappointed with the wifi, or lack thereof. There were a lot of pretty plants hanging from the wall. The waiters were pretty attentive. There is a restroom. There is a nice dessert menu with shaved ice and pudding, etc. Didn't see anyone getting the desserts though. Beware: on the receipt, the minimum tip amount is 18%!!!

Great stop for lunch or dinner-- the staff are friendly, the food is top notch, and it's a lovely space. Would recommend-- one of my new favorites in Chinatown!

Came in just for drinks after walking around in the heat for quite some time. We wanted bubble tea or something like that, but had already been to Joy Yee, so we decided on this place. Upon entering we were asked whether we were there just for drinks or for food, and then seated and given menus. You order at the table and then go up to pay whenever you're done (or at least that's what our situation was). We ended up ordering these things called "sorbies" just because we thought it was so funny they were called sorbies. Like, what does it mean? Sorbet smoothies? Who knows. A quick google search will bring up a village in Scotland....LOL. Anyway, they were pretty tasty. I had the wildberry sorbie and it was very refreshing and flavorful. Would recommend for sure, and not super expensive for a drink like this.

Updated review; I love eating here cause the food is great and the service is greater. I've never ordered anything else don't like. The good thing here is the food is cheap and in small portions so you can order shareable plates and order lots of items to try. My favorite item here is the lamb chops in a special mayo sauce, the beef brisket broth with udon is yummy too. For appetizers, recommend the calamari tempura. Drinks here are good too, especially the lychee nectar coco. Can't go wrong or complain. You've got my business for lifeeeee

I resumed my milk tea tour of Chicago here and absolutely loved it! I got the green milk tea and my family got the taro and black tea as well. All of the flavors were great! I loved the unique flavor of the green tea. The teas were foamy and had a nice light texture to it. The boba was also perfectly made. It took awhile to make but they really do make it from scratch and it was worth the wait. Highly recommend!!

I've scarcely been to Saint Alps since I was little when it was next to Phoenix. I didn't prefer the food and the parking wasn't the easiest, but now that it's moved to Chinatown Square and renovated, it's become one of my favorite places to visit in Chinatown!! I'm a big fan of their green milk tea with tapioca. They give a generous amount of tapioca. Their green tea has a light floral taste that is actually quite pleasant. I always pick any of the lunch specials that comes with a milk tea. I usually get the curry chicken with eggplant. Very filling and good on cold days. It's served with two tempura shrimps with mayo and almonds. The shrimps are a good addition. Worth trying if you go. The second dish I go with is the pork chop with mayonnaise. It sounds weird, but it has a sweet tangy taste. They have some cute looking and tasting desserts, too. It's good to share. It's one of the places I recommend trying in Chinatown if you plan to hit up a bunch of places.

Came here with a few friends to grab some tapioca drinks on a (finally) summer-vibey day! Due to my past experiences for tapioca in Chicago, my expectations weren't high.. that's not to say that I have not gone to the right place(s) yet! The tapioca drink here was a WIN. The Taro (green) Milk Tea I had was actually less sweet (like I have asked for) and the boba was of a nice chewy consistency.. each piece was differently shaped which make it seem as if they make the tapioca in house (??).. Later on in the hangout, I got a bit hungry and decided to try their Curry Laksa U-don noodle soup.. and yet very pleasantly surprised that it hit all the spice sensors (for those who have had Laksa before) and cravings! There was also a good amount of shrimp, meat, noodles for this tasty meal! I'll be back again, Saint's Alp!

This place use to be better. I use to go to Saint Alps a lot about 5 years ago, I'm not sure if it's different management or just operating after Covid, but please bring your ORIGINAL combo sets back!! With the side of 2 veggies, soy sauce egg, and the delicious ground beef rice. I went yesterday and I was severely disappointed. The sad part is I was super excited to stand by this restaurant and recommend it to my partner. For the rice combo sets, they NO LONGER give 2 vegetable sides which use to be sliced tofu & broccoli. Now the boba drink size that comes with the "combo" is probably 8 to 12oz that they serve in plastic to go cups. They use to serve the boba in a milkshake glass before. The plate I received today was fairly ok, the rice was pretty dry AND they managed to send my bf food he didn't order. Instead a guy comes up and serves us 4 pieces of shrimp to nervously say "it comes with your order" no one else in the restaurant received that either. The restaurant knew of their mess ups. I managed to tip $15 because I work in the industry but definitely the experience could've been better. I won't be returning. I will just stick to MingHin.

Been here a handful of times and the food is a 3.5 or 4 but the boba (at least the ones I've tried) a 2. The taro boba I had most recently was overly lavender and tasted artificial and powdery, though the glass they give you is very large if you eat there (not sure if a large portion of this is necessarily a good thing but if you wanted a big cup of fake-tasting taro bubble tea now you know where to go). The eggplant fish noodle dish ($9.95) was solid but basic and the taiwanese chicken (盐酥鸡) not as good as others I've had e.g. at Taipei cafe. Overall everything is reasonably priced and I would come back for the food, but most likely avoid the bubble teas (I have heard good things about the ginger bubble tea, however so if you try it please tell me ).

This place has a nice hipster feel to it. Salt/basil chicken (001): the taste is right but it was a little soggy and not crisp enough. Chives with fish fillet: Also all right but I felt that it was a little drier than I would have liked. Egg Tofu: We thought that there were going to be more veggies. There were not. Boba: Don't get the coconut. It's weird. The taro is your standard taro boba. The black tea ginger is very strong but good. My friends' favorite is the black tea with wheat germ (like protein powder on the bottom but it's supposed to be very healthy). Overall: 3.8/5 Environment: 4.5/5 . Very artsy and chill place. The upstairs is nice if you like a quieter place to talk. Service: 4/5. It's fine by Asian restaurant standards. Taste: 3.5/5. There were a lot of things that could be improved very easily. The taste is almost there but not quite. I probably wouldn't come here for food again but I would for their bubble tea and desserts. Value: 4.2/5. Portions are aight and prices are decent.

A friend and I stopped by here one night because it was one of the few ones open late on a weekday. We both ended up sharing the beef with assorted mushrooms and snow peas, as well as the salt and pepper fried squid. Both dishes were very tasty and hit the spot. We ended up finishing everything! I also ordered a mango strawberry smoothie with tapioca. The smoothie was made with fresh fruits and the tapioca was freshly made. Recommend coming here on late nights with friends.

We came for the tea, we stayed for the tea. The gf is a bit of an authority on tea and this place has a dizzying array of what seems like every type of tea under the sun. She had the Taro Green Milk Tea and I went with a basic yet delightful Ginger Tea. Will definitely be back to try the endless and interesting drink choices offered up here.

Yeah, this is definitely a spot to visit. They've got a few dishes here that I've tried and very much enjoyed each time. I've been here numerous times and haven't been disappointed! Taro Drink: Yeah, its good. I don't usually order this but my friends do and its very good. Black Milk Tea: Some of the best black milk tea I've ever had. Extremely aromatic and delicious. Each sip wants you wanting more. Beef Noodle in Spicy Soup: For $8, this is a decent noodle soup right here. One of my favorites to get but can sometimes be a bit too oily in the broth. The beef is tender and juicy. Baked Fish Fillet Over Rice w/ White Sauce?: I think this is the name. But its some sort of Over Rice dish that is baked with fish fillet and possibly corn. It's so good! Cutlet Fish Fillet in Curry Sauce Rice Set: One of the first dishes that I fell in love with at Saint Alp's old location on Archer.

I've been a regular customer since 2012. I like their food and i love their milk teas, hot Almond milk tea with Boba in particular. But during a recent visit, my almond milk tea tasted bland/watered down and the plates were dusty on all sides (which was really hard to miss cause it was visible). Don't know how they didn't see that. I still gave a tip but wrote a note on the receipt of the incident to make them aware incase they won't read this review. Hope they do something about it.

This place! Mannnn....this place! I've never had their food but EVERY drink I've had in this place has been on point! My favorites: 1) Lychee 2) Logan and Lychee Smoothie 3) Taro smoothie 4) Rose Tea Refresher 5) Rose Tea Lychee refresher 6) CocoNata - THE BEST!!! (It feels like you're eating a blended coconut cookie!) 7) Mango Lychee Smoothie with Tapioca I've never had a bad drink at this place, thus far! Even the people I go with all love their drinks! Yum...I'd definitely recommend this place!

This place is always my go to place for milk tea. I always get the green tea milk tea with a little bit of tapioca or if I don't want that I would get it with coffee jelly. It's good both hot or cold and it has a nice balanced taste and I love the fact that you can still taste the tea. I've definitely recommended my friends to come here for the milk tea & they love it as well. I've also had some of their food here and it's pretty good with a nice portion. Most of the time I can't finish everything so I would take home the leftovers or save the rest of the food for the next day if I ordered to go.

Cute and spacious dining area (especially on the second floor) combined with cheap prices makes this a great place to grab a bite and chat with friends. I ordered the pork wonton (udon) noodle soup, and aside from the wontons, everything was fairly average. I had previously said that my favorite wontons were those from Yummy Yummy Noodles, but after trying these, my favorite has changed. Like the wontons from Yummy Yummy Noodles, these were also all meat (pork). The difference however, was that these wontons didn't have any sesame seeds so they felt "smoother". My lasting take away from this restaurant was how cheap everything was. Someone I was with ordered seafood chow mein, and she got a ridiculous amount of both noodles and seafood for around $8 or $9.

Good enough if you're hankering for some fast quality Cantonese food. However don't be fooled if you are a fan of the brand from Hong Kong. Though the share the same English brand name the Chicago version seems to be merely "borrowing" the name. The milk teas are totally different and they don't have the same types of items you would expect at a saint alps (Ie: thick Texas toast with condensed milk...you can't get that here!). Though I'd recommend the chow fun noodles and the clay pot items.

Well-prepared Common Dishes. One of the few extensive single-portion LUNCH SPECIALS (from seafood to noodles with no add-in cost). Soup, or Tea included. FOOD has been reliably excellent. You know. Slimy. Perfect temp on chicken, beef and seafood. I haven't seen a burnt dish yet. :-D One and only SUMIYAKI COFFEE with coffee jelly is my favorite. Creamy Japanese Coffee. It is unclear if it's a premix powder or put together as sometimes I can taste more coffee, and one time I tasted coconut. $2.65 MANGO PUDDING is a wonderful just-right single portion treat. Very mango-y taste. Must love mango. Skip the worthless MATCHA ICE CREAM & RED BEANS TOAST BOX. It's just bread! VENUE is consistently clean. SERVICE is so-so.

Pretty frequent visitor here...food is reliable. Not gourmet, but their variety is enough to satisfy most tastes. I recommend the bento combinations - portions are good and you get a bubble tea with it! Their stir fried entrees are surprisingly not very greasy either. Yes the service is subpar but should you really be in Chinatown if you expected anything otherwise?

I have been going to saint alps since they were established at Chinatown originally on Archer! still one of my favorite places to go to and another awesome thing about Saint Alp's is that they are open late and their current location has two floors! No more waiting! my absolute favorite dish is the Baked Spaghetti with Seafood In Creamy White Sauce! For $7.95, it is honestly not that bad and they have a bit of everything in it! Calamari, shrimp, etc; and it is definitely baked and hot when they bring it out, just how I like it! Another one of my all-time favorites is the Taiwanese Pork Chop Rice Set served with two seasonal vegetable side dishes and a drink (hot or cold drink) Service was also great! since the first floor is not as big as the second floor, the waiter/server is more attentive when it comes to customer service. the ambiance is wonderful, Saint Alp's play list is in Taiwanese and occasionally, in Cantonese Cleanliness is a 4/5.

Saint alps have a nice variety of food selections which are full of flavor. The coconut or almond tea is a great addition to your meal. You can either have it served hot or cold. The staff is always friendly and the atmosphere of the restaurant makes it a nice place to visit.

Great food for decent price but service (politeness, etc) And milk tea quality can range from 0-10 sometimes, just hope that y'all go when the mood is a 10 with lit staff and experience drink makers. Scale: 10 being the best and 0 being the worst. My friends and I go every Friday night and the mood is lit, 8-10, but today was a 3-5. They are unclear about their rules and policies. There would be small writing on index card size paper inside or they won't have a sign at all and enforce rules in unknowing customers (especially if you're younger). BTW if they don't like the customers or don't feel like trying, they'll put your drink in the small plastic take out cups instead of the bigger glass ones for dine-ins. Totally recommend going for the food and price.

Out of town friend and I came here on my suggestion. At the end, I felt a little embarrassed for picking this place. What we ordered: -Crispy chicken strips with basil and seasoning $6.95 -Shrimp with mayo and almonds $6.25 -Almond milk tea with boba $3.35 + .75 for boba -Green milk tea with boba $3.35 + .75 for boba After seeing on yelp that the shrimp with mayo and almonds were all the rage, I wanted to try it for myself. It was actually pretty disappointing. Like a battered doughyish shrimp that's been sitting under a convention light waiting to be smeared with mayo and topped with almonds. I mean, it was obvious tasting that these shrimp were not fried upon ordering. I think if it were, it would taste better because the batter on the shrimp just tasted not fresh and a little stale. 6 pieces for $6.25? Steep.. The crispy chicken strips were basically popcorn chicken without the popcorn shape. The amount of chicken was good for the price. I was disappointed in the seasoning because it wasn't very seasoned at all. My friend requested for some type, any type of dipping sauce because he couldn't go on with out it. The server said that the "chef wouldn't want to make the sauce" - even after I said we'd be willing to pay extra. In the end, the server gave us the Maploy sweet and sour sauce, right out of the bottle. Not sure why he couldn't offer that initially but we'll take it. The boba itself was probably the best I've had in Chicago. And that's not saying much. 75 cents for boba?! That's pretty steep.. I'd come back for their lunch combos since that seemed like a better deal, ~$10 including a boba drink!

Sure, I'm a sucker for judging a book by its cover but sometimes aren't we all? What caught my eye was the modern lettering on the outside of this teahouse which gave me high hopes. There's a window in the front to order at and there's seating inside and on the second floor. I got to try the pearl dragon tea (fancy name for oolong milk tea) and the lemon green tea. Both teas were not very fragrant and it was such a disappointment especially for its small cup size and price of $3-$4 per drink (and that's without tapioca!) Overall, I was just not impressed. Perhaps we didn't order the right thing? The staff was nice though and that's about it. I don't plan on going back.
