"Sakaki was founded in 1954 as a restaurant serving Western dishes. The fourth owner-chef, Daisuke Sakakibara, who earned his culinary spurs in France, changed the format, serving Western fare for lunch and French cuisine in the evenings. Dinner is prix fixe but with a comprehensive menu leaving plenty of choice. Seafood appetisers reflect Sakakibara’s experiences in the south of France; main courses centre on traditional fare such as roast lamb and beef cheek stewed in red wine." - Michelin Inspector

Yoshoku style at its finest. If you are looking for Western Japanese style foods which sometimes surpass the level of its original cuisine, look no further than Sakaki. They offer various dishes with precise cooking and efficiency. It elevates the ingredients and the taste to its finest. No wonder why people que up on this restaurant. It’s worth every penny and its dirt cheap

Google
So much hype with this place as they only open for 2 hours each for lunch and dinner. Always a queue, you have to eat and clear your table when you are done else they will politely ask you to. I probably ordered the wrong thing cos it really didn't stand out at all.

Food was so oily but the price was reasonable. I will come back!

Great food and service at what looks to be a local favourite. Had the hamburger steak and beef curry. Would come back again.

Yelp
I visited this restaurant for lunch on a weekday. Although I arrived at the restaurant 10 minutes before its opening, around 20 people were waiting in front of the restaurant. The fried chicken fillet and shrimp were delicious. The house-made tartar sauce was excellent. I thought these dishes were worth waiting for.
