Saku

"Located in the NOW Bomonti building, Saku is something of a hidden gem, offering an exotic and cosy dining experience. The restaurant's open space and long, extended kitchen are impressive. The cuisine is Asian with a big nod to Japan. The chefs like to let their creativity speak for itself, a case in point being their take on nigiri with tournedos Rossini that really melts in the mouth! Be sure to leave room for dessert, too. After all, you wouldn't want to miss out on a punchy combination of poached peach, buttery crumble and vanilla and umeshu ice cream, would you?" - Michelin Inspector

Incredible atmosphere and service. The food was also even better than what we had expected. You can find a lot of options which are all really good and hard to choose from. The octopus was our favorite. We ended up ordering it twice. Would highly recommend trying Saku if you’re looking for a great Asian restaurant in Istanbul.

My favorite place at Bomonti with perfect atmosphere, not 5 star because of loud music sometimes:) The service is at the high level ALWAYS, from the opening the quality didn’t get worse, I love all the garsons☺️ Interior is awesome, unfortunately because of the location people can’t notice the restaurant. Cocktails are must try, I would say that the taste of them are one of the best in Istanbul. Highly recommend Dublin to Peru and Omiyage(they are very soft) The food is very good, 4 star because sometimes Akami and salmon tastes extremely bad, must be payed more attention to the quality of this fishes. My favorites: Gokhan, Tofu, Maki, Prawns, Namelaka. Be ready that portions are very small like one-bite. Previously prices used to me more reasonable, I won’t say that now it’s reasonable for such small dishes. Minus 1 star for atmosphere because of that:) In general I’m visiting the place quite often and I love it🥰

Simple yet refined ambiance sets the stage for an extraordinary dining experience. This fusion Japanese Asian restaurant goes beyond the clichés of its counterparts that have sprouted up in recent years. menu unveils an array of dishes that break free from the usual suspects like Edamame and Black Cod. Every dish is bursting with depth and nuance that reflects the mastery of Chef Canberk Temel and his dedicated team. Service, too, is a testament to excellence. The staff embodies professionalism and attentiveness, going above and beyond to ensure your satisfaction. It's a rare gem to encounter a waiter who advises you to remove certain items from your order if they feel it might overwhelm your senses. They kindly inform you in advance about the cooking time required for certain dishes, ensuring that your expectations are managed and your patience rewarded. All in all, this is an experience that will leave you yearning for more. Rating is Average PPP TL 1800

A very memorable dining experience. Perfect for a date or to come as a small friend group. Music was nice, not too loud and went well with the ambiance. I started off with a cocktail, Yubari, sweet yet balanced. Then we ordered a bunch of dishes to share. The portions are bite sized. The mushroom rice dish was great. The quail gyoza was perfection both taste-wise and texture-wise. My favorite part was dessert though, we ordered a matcha-white chocolate tart and Nama and sahlep ice cream. They accidentally brought a miso creme brulee instead of the latter. They corrected it immediately and insisted we enjoy the creme brulee as well. It was too much for two people but I’m glad we got to try that one as well. I was afraid of ordering it because of miso but it just added depth to it. The chocolate nama was amazing. Very rich but isn’t overwhelming at all. Sahlep ice cream I was very excited about but it was a little bitter I’m assuming because of almond extract? The matcha tarte I could eat till the rest of my days. I wish it was bigger or I wasn’t sharing it 😅 Overall, good innovative food, great dessert, nice cocktails, good service, and prices were on the higher end I’d say. I’ll be back to try out the other dishes as well 🫡

We were extraordinarily impressed by the attentiveness, flavour and value of the dishes on offer at Saku Istanbul. Right from the second you enter the establishment (whose interior resembles a level from the HITMAN video game series) you feel right at home. The staff take time to describe each dish and recommend accompaniments based on your preferences and what you enjoyed. We particularly delighted in the fried zucchini, as well as the selection of wines and cocktails. Highly recommended.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at Saku restaurant. When we arrived, we were told that their entire menu contains alcohol, which is a blatant lie. This felt like a clear act of discrimination against us because we are Arabs. To confirm the truth, our uncle spoke to the head chef, who verified that only two to three dishes actually contain alcohol. Additionally, our Turkish friend called the restaurant, and they confirmed the same information. It's infuriating and deeply hurtful to be treated this way. This kind of behavior is unacceptable, and I strongly advise everyone to avoid this restaurant. Saku clearly does not respect or value all of its customers. We do not recommend this restaurant at all.
