I have had their Pizza ,their tuna grinders, They're hot sausage grinder, their wings. They have a grinder called the Gabriella's one of my faves. Their food is amazing. Made fresh. The staff is so friendly. And very polite don't ignore you When they're very busy you are acknowledged . ❤️I would definitely give it a 10 star

Everything is made fresh from the dough to the soup and eggplant. Literally every bite is like a taste of Italy.

I’ve been coming here for a few years now and I recently had a bad experience with glass or ceramic in my food. I left a voicemail and never got a call back so I called again and spoke to the owner and they didn’t want to remake the pizza and are saying they don’t have glass but there was clearly something foreign in my food. They said they’d refund me but not remake the food and I don’t have the same card anymore so I guess that’s just a loss for me. The way it was handled was rude and insensitive. I was chewing on something very hard and it broke in my mouth. It could’ve been worse and they should’ve been more Accommodating and understanding of the situation. Unfortunately I won’t be returning

Salerno's is absolutely delicious! If they had 10 stars or 20 or 100, you get the point-they would get them all! My all-time favorite pizza in this area. The sauce is amazing. On the sweeter side. I love it. They always and only use the best & freshest ingredients. My usual order is pepperoni & hamburg sometimes I add peppers. Pepperoni is fantastic. The great thing about peppers from them is they use red peppers!! They're sweet. YES! Green peppers give a pizza a whole different taste. Their "burg" is top-notch as is the cheese! Some places ( I won't name) use the cheapest ingredients and try to say "mozzarella" when it clearly isn't. Joanne & Sal-I love Salerno's! Consistently delicious pizza! A great neighborhood pizza joint! The owner was really kind and accommodating as he recommended the park next door as a great place to eat, and even sent someone to give us marinara sauce at said park! Check this place out if you're in the area

Delicious..the pizza is simply delicious...fresh fast. They have apple pay. Gift card are only cash.

Pizza was very good, not out of this world but very good. Not a fan of the square cut but not a reason to not order. No seating.

I tried Salerno Pizzeria for the first time this week and I was very happy with it. It was my first time having pizza in 3 years so I was very selective in choosing a place and based on reviews and proximity, I chose to come here. Every piece of pizza was so sturdy and every bite was perfect. The flavor was awesome as well. I will definitely be back.

What a find. An absolute time warp to 1988. It's like Back to the Future. The pizza has fans that come from far and wide, but I noticed a lot of locals and insiders ordering grinders and calzoonies.

It doesn't look like much walking by, but this is hands down my favorite pizza spot in springfield. i've been going here from age 2, and i'm 19 now and through all the years in between i've never not been satisfied. the wings are amazing, pizza is delicious, and customer service is A1. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a delicious bite.

The food is incredible. So far I've had the pizza, wings and buffalo chicken wrap. And it was the best pizza, wings and buffalo chicken wrap I've ever had. Highly recommend!!

This review is strictly based on the combination pizza my family and friends picked up, we did not dine in but my goodness!!! What delicious pizza!!! I now understand why people rant and rave about it!! The friends we were with drive 20 minutes for this pizza, there are other pizza places nearby but they don't mind going out of their way for it. As a native Floridian, I only recently have come to understand that Springfield and it's neighboring cities have their own pizza style. It's unique as the crust is crispy, but not NY style thin. These people are firing up some delicious pizza, will definitely need to stop by when I'm in town again.

This place has DELICIOUS pizza and grinders. My favorite place in the area hands down, my only critique is that the customer service could be better

The pizza is amazingly perfect. My go to place has gone downhill and way very greasy last time we ordered. Also had a chicken parm and Italian cold cut grinder recently and both were excellent.

Have been going here since '88 and still going and that is for a reason. Great pie for a fair price. Check 'em out! You'll be back.

This place was literally the best I was on a hunt for a chicken parm sandwich and I decided to try this place out and It was DEFINITLEY a great choice. Plus the pricing was so cheap for a small 7 inch chicken Parmesan grinder it was five dollars which is not bad at all. In the picture I already ate half my sandwich !

This place is located directly on the main road and not too far from Mercy Medical Center. There is some parking on the street, but, your best option is probably to park in the rear as they have a good amount of vehicle spaces to park in back behind the establishment. The staff is nice and friendly and does a good job. We got a Pizza to go and it was very tasty and good quality ingredients. We will definitely be back for that. This is NOT a fancy place, just a place for a quick bite to eat indoors or a to go order. But, they have a good selection to choose from and they were very busy with phone orders as well as walk in customers. Also, there are NO RESTROOMS here for the customers, so, make sure to take care of that prior to arriving here, or, go someplace nearby afterwards, if necessary. They seem to have been in business for quite some time and they have the process down to a pretty good detail on how to get things done correctly. Stop on by Salerno's Pizzeria for a good pizza. Just an FYI, they DO NOT sell the Pizza by the Slice, just in case you only wanted 1 or 2 slices. But, then again, once you have 1 or 2 slices, you will most likely wish that you had gotten a bigger pizza to consume. YES, it's that good. Buon Appetite!

When it comes to gathering my big family its one of the best pizza shops to order a party sized pizza. Clean and friendly I would definitely would recommend this to anyone

Best pizza around! Pizza always cooked perfect. Prices very reasonable. I hadn't been to Salerno's in a while but the quality of the food hasn't changed. I'll definitely make sure I come back sooner than later.

Stopped here for lunch with a Boy Scout troop after a tour of the Springfield Armory. Showed up with a group of 14 and ordered three medium pizzas. Just enough food with a few pieces to spare. Staff was very friendly and pizzas were ready quickly. Parking in the rear. Would definitely recommend!

I had a cheeseburg grinder with mayo, hot peppers and bacon, toasted. Middle of the road ish and very dry. Place was clean and the people running it are friendly.

Been eating here since I was a baby. Hungry Hill has two AMAZING pizza shoppers and THIS IS ONE OF THEM.

They have the best grinders ever made in this world but you have to try it with lettuce tomato and mayonnaise it's a steak and cheese grinder

My family went there for the first time last night. We were looking forward to it based on the other Yelp reviews. We ordered an olive, mushroom, and pepperoni pizza with extra cheese. About 20 minutes later went to pick it up and it was ready. I was the only one in there around 6 o'clock, which to me should be busier. The place is a dump but if the food's good who cares. First off, they got my order wrong. They put peppers, onions, and mushrooms on it. The pizza was just ok though. I admit I was expecting more with all the good reviews. The size of the medium wasn't as large as I hoped. The cheese was good, but that's about it. We'll definitely be just going back to Red Rose. We always go there. The size is bigger, sauce is better, and I've never gotten a wrong order.

I always love this place for Pizza and Grinders. If you want at great, ask for soups. They are awesome. Not on the Menu so ask for the soup of the day. The best home made soups around!!!!! Family place very nice people and they love what they do!

So I hate hate hate when people say "I'm from ny I know good pizza" however I do have to start my review by saying being from NY this pizza reminds me of home. I've seen so many reviews that start off with that and I try the place and it makes me question where in NY they tried pizza! Which has happened so many times while I've been here in Massachusetts. But anyway this pizza was everything I was hoping for. Being in quarantine i have nothing but time and it has taken me 3 months to find the perfect one full of flavor. When walking in it actually smells like a pizza place. I know that sounds weird but I cant tell you how many pizza places I've tried that if they didn't have a sign I wouldn't know that it was selling food. Anyway I recommend this for anyone looking for a good ass pizza lol.

I've been living in this area for over 12 years and had yet to have Salerno's til today, mind you I had it 2wice, yes, it was that good, I ordered just a personal cheese and went back for a small meatball pizza, same day. I must say fantastic! Great small place, has been there since the 70's! Springfield's a tough city and this gem has endured. Small menu, which is great, cause you know everything is super fresh! I highly recommend this pizza, best crust/pizza combo in the area, by far. I hear other things are good and I'll have to try some different things, can't wait! So glad I found another great pizza joint!

Their cheese pizza is the best and the buffalo chicken pizza is awesome. Overall for a small shop it's great especially the service. The only downfall is that they don't deliver but I don't mind picking up such amazing food!

This is my favorite pizza. I eat it whenever i come back to town. A lot of my favorite places in town have gone downhill but this place keeps its high standards. They make a good grinder too.

The Pizza is Good, haven't try anything else yet.... Could use a little remodeling and sum better parking​ spot ... Maybe relocate to a better area

I grew up a few blocks from this restaurant. I have lived out of state for 2 decades but always come here when I am in town--30 years later it is still one of my favorite pizza's anywhere.

We have been ordering pizza from Salerno's since I was a kid. The service is fast and the staff is friendly. I recommend the wings which are big, meaty and fried to crunchy perfection without any breading.

When i want a doughy crust instead of a crunchy crust, there is no better place to go than Sal's. If they used fresh peppers and mushrooms instead of canned, I'd be happier, but even with that i had to put their 5th star back that I was going to take off. It's just that yummy.

Walking into Salerno's the first thing I notice is how clean it is. The pizzeria has no booths, but plenty of tables and Sal and his wife Joanne are right at the counter to take your order. The menu is huge , the pizza is right on par with Red Rose and the grinder selection is enormous. One grinder in particular; The Chicken Gabriella is a great mix of geilled chicken , provolone cheese , hot peppers , pickles and tomatoes with mayo, it is excellent. Sals pizza is enourmous for the price and very tasty with a wonderful sauce and crust. Well worth the visit to one of Springfields " big three " the other two being of course Red Rose and Tony's on Boston Road. As funny as it sounds; Springfield Ma. really has the best pizza in the northeast part of the country .

I found them by a guy at Advantage Auto who directed us to the best pizza pie in town. My husband and I are picky coming from Nyc and pies done right is hard to finds I'm glad the guy at the auto parts store directed us here. Amazing pizza, half combo and half pepperoni. Everything was excellent and very tasty. Thanks

The best pizza and grinders in the neighborhood at a great price. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. From my favorite the torpedo grinder which has ham, salami, pepperoni, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, cherry peppers, mayo, oil and vinegar and make it extra crispy in the oven. It's the quality of the bread and meat that keeps me coming back, even now that I live 30 minutes away in Hartford as opposed to two blocks like I use to. Try it, you wont regret it. Love the steak and cheese also. They season the steak to perfection and it's not that steak-um stuff but real steak. There pizza is awesome with the same quality ingredients and delicious sauce and the friendly staff will make you happy you came. I've been coming here for over 20 years and as long as it's the same owners as it has been, I plan on coming back for 20 more. Say hi to Sal for me when you go.

If Salerno's was closer to Boston I'm fairly certain I would eat their eggplant (in a sub, on a pizza, in any form) many many many times a week. It's THAT good. The pizza is good (with or without the heavenly eggplant) and the ingredients are always super fresh! FYI - In the colder months they sometimes have soup - homemade soup - and its awesome. If you go in and they have it, get it. If you're in the Springfield area, I'd definitely recommend heading to Salerno's.

Good food, but this place is filthy! Walked in and the place reeked of cigarettes, unsure if they were smoking inside but gave me just another reason to not go back.

Tried this based on 5 star reviews and was not disappointed. Pretty much a hole in the wall but nice service and good pizza so no complaints. Crust was EXCELLENT - crispy outside and chewy inside and they cooked it so the middle was done as well - big plus. Hot peppers were spicy and sauce was good. The cheese was also very good but too much for my taste - most people wouldn't complain though. 4 stars from me is pretty much a 5 star for anyplace else. It's not as good as Pepe's in New Haven but not too far from it either.

Best Pizza on or near Hungry Hill (Springfield). They don't deliver but trust me its totally worth it!!! Side note: this place has been around since I was a kid (at least 20 years) and has always been my family's favorite Pizza, Grinder, and wings shop :)

It's official, best pizza I've had yet in this town! Salerno's can truly give Red Rose a run for their money. Not only is the pizza incredible but the woman working the counter was the epitome of excellent customer service. It's super bowl Sunday and I was incredibly impressed with how well the entire salerno's team was handling the madness. Five stars, two thumbs up, and a belly full of pizza. Thank you!

3 generations of eating here haven't had their pizza in a long time and want it so bad lol but I've been eating it my whole life still haven't found a pizza that tastes like it

I've been in the Springfield area for 28 years and I've been going to Salerno since. The best pizza in Springfield hands down... Nothing more to say. If you haven't been there you're missing out.
